Any time I've had big, unexpected changes in my life, I can look back and see that I was stagnant and the change was the step I needed to grow and move forward. It's always terrifying in the moment, but productive in long run. Instead of asking myself "what now?", I try to ask myself "what next? " You've already proved that you can make it through tough things. You've got this. ♥️

Ah Drea, their loss. So sorry, but another door will open for you. Youre brilliant, logical, creative, detail-oriented, have good communication skills, and you know what appeals to your audience. What company wouldn't be seeking those attributes. Best of luck. Patty

Often, when we experience a sudden loss, the first thing we do is scramble to fill that void. But life has taught me that sometimes, we need to do nothing for a little while. Give yourself time to sit with your current situation because if you panic in your financially vulnerable state, you might decide that won't serve your best well-being. Please take time to breathe, Drea. This might be a blessing in disguise, but you have to be still and quiet (long enough) to hear the cues to your next move. Sending hugs and best wishes. I know everything will work out well for you because you give off good energy to the plant community which tells me you give good energy everywhere, so good things are in the cue for you! 💕🪴🫂

I got laid off recently myself, and instead of updating my resume and searching for a job, I've gotten into watching UA-cam videos about some of my favorite subjects, like houseplants. So when this video popped up as a suggestion and I read the title I knew I had to watch it--and I was right. This situation stinks, but I know in the end we'll both be able to look back at it as the push we needed to move on to something bigger and better. Or at least I really really hope so. Now off to watch some of your other videos! (Also, this video got my first "like" and your channel got my first "subscribe" ever. 🙂)

After watching this video, I wanted to share my observations about YOU! I only discovered your channel a week or two ago and I was Immediately well pleased. You have an excellent voice and a manner that is very genuine. The flow of your speech is almost flawless, in that you do not use filler words or strange sing-song patterns and the like. Your knowledge seems professional and competent. People naturally want to learn from someone who knows what they are doing. If you choose to leave the corporate world and ebrace your obvious passion for plants.......I salute you. God bless you in any and all your efforts. You are a wonderful woman in my book!

Thank you so much!❤️ And I really had to work on the whole filler words thing when I first started making videos, lol. You never really realize you’re doing it until you’re editing a video and start thinking to yourself, “if I say “umm” one more time I’m tossing this video in the trash…”😂

As an old lady, who also happens to own a corporation, I have found that life rarely gives you what you want, WHEN you want it, but sometimes when you NEED it. This is your "sign" to do your own thing. Concentrate on your training clients & your social media brand. You're brilliant, personable & relatable, you will make it. No problem. Also F*** the corporate world. Hence why I started my own thing over 20 years ago. Yes, it's a corporation but it's small, and we all take care of each other. They all receive good pay, benefits & profit sharing & in turn I have the best people that I absolutely love. You can do/have the same thing. You got this!

Thanks for sharing and posting today.I'm sorry to hear of the challenges you are going through right now. I have been there a time or two, and it's not fun, but the good thing is that it is rarely permanent. I found that during this time, you have to do what you are doing, which is to find a job to take the place of that lost income. While doing that, focus on those things that are going right and continue to move those things forward. Use this additional time to make as much content and complete as many projects as possible so that when you start your next job you have enough stockpiled to maintain your release schedule while you are acclimating to your new work schedule. Lastly. stay positive and focus on the good going on in your life. I know that it can be hard with everything being so fresh, but you have overcome hard times before, and you can do it again.

I was let go from my job of 10 years back in 2020. It felt devastating at the time, but it turned out to be the best thing. The job I’m in now is perfect for me and much easier on my mental health. So it can work out for the best, but I know it just plain sucks in the moment. Sorry you’re going through this, Drea, hang in there 💚

Drea, this is so honest and real. Thank you for you vulnerability and you ability to get up and make a video for us, despite it all. You are a winner! I am going through a similar situation and I'm an educator...so it's me and my students. It's heartbreaking. Still, as many of these comments say, it's not cliche to believe that everything happens for a reason. The people who hired. you and the people who let you go had THAT purpose in your life to prepare you for the next step. Keep getting up. Your next step is coming, and most importantly, it's YOURS to design.
PS--I can't get my string of hearts to root after 5 months!! :)

Omg... Glad I watched this video to find another virtual plant friend. Plants are also supporting me through a long, frustrating divorce and also a job loss due to a loss of my mental health in the process. Sooo happy to have plants and great planty content like yours to help me be successful at nurturing my new loves 😁 Found flexible freelance work thru Upwork in the meantime, maybe that would be a good fit for you too for now?

Sorry to hear about the job loss. I've found that this is the new way of the corporate structure. Company's merge or get bought out and within a year or so they restructure the company by outsourcing jobs even when they have on idea what the current employees actually do, or they will downsize to decrease the payroll letting the experienced workers go to hire lower paid entry level employees. Contract work can be much higher paying so that could be an option. It's not as expensive to buy your own Medical Insurance as people usually think. Every time I have had this happen to me it turned out to be a change for the better and more profitable. Try to keep a positive attitude things always work out in the end. You are way ahead of the curve by having not one but two side hustles. Good luck with the search. The SOH looks beautiful.

As if I just came across you. Your spending 1781$ came across my feed. Not really sure why just now. You mentioned the loss of your job and it intrigued me. Now watching this one. I seriously don’t have enough space here to explain and honestly can’t say enough “ditto”’s in comparison to me. Diff but same. How can you NOT be disenchanted. From tech/accounting I’m now at an charity art gallery. Take a break and don’t look for a job right away. It took me months to update my resume after 15 years with the old company. Shock is not strong enough of a word to explain my state of mind at that time. So glad I came across you. Btw, at 16:12. Epic 😂😂😂 wtg

Hey, IF they call you back, get them to hire you at a contractor's salary. Waaayyy better pay plus more flexibility if you find something you like more. Also, while the pay may not be the same, check out state colleges as they are often in need of someone for marketing and foundation work. Think your skills work for that and they might be more open to hybrid lately, too.

How you were let go is illegal without any notice in the UK and you would have had recourse to the law. Since you are the sole creator of their most important system, I would imagine that they will come a begging pretty soon. If they do and you think about going back, make sure it’s as a self employed contractor with a salary and conditions commensurate with your skills. You are clearly a person with valuable skills but you are in shock I think, which makes it very difficult to think straight. Do one day at a time, making time to do some relaxation/meditation. I wish you good luck for the future and look forward to hearing how you are going along 💕🕯
