I have taken delivery of a petrol 1.2turbo c4 with grey metallic pain,,,I am over the moon with the super smooth drive and smooth automatic gearbox,,,overall delighted 😀,,
EVERY F*cking review i've saw about the new e-C4 is complaining about the rear view spoiler... NONE of the reviewers ever drove the car in the night to see that the spoiler ACTUALLY HELPS and it's so well positioned that the headlights from the car behind are actually MASKED by the spoiler. So Thank you Citroen, nice HIDDEN feature!
The cars have those electro-chromatic interior rear-view mirrors like my Peugeot, which works perfectly well at night and let's face it, any car that's following with its headlights on main beam has to be in a pretty precise position to allow the spoiler to obstruct the light!
Tried the top spec E version. Loved it to pieces, a Rolls Royce sensation for the proletariat:) Welcome back comfort, good bye Nürburgring!

Oh come on, that must be the most unfairly critical assessment of rear legroom and headroom in the history of UK car reviews. Despite the reviewer being a couple of inches taller than the average UK man, the video clearly shows acres of legroom. And the straining to reach the roof lining is no more convincing.
I’m 5"10 and sat in the middle seat at the back comfortably.
He can walk a dog there at the rear behind the front seat and that was "not amazingly generous"? Wow

I think he means for the class the C4 is in then it’s not all that great, a Renault Arkana is slightly roomier.
Why don't any two car journalist ever agree on anything. The rest of reviewers are saying the ride quality is good n comfortable. This guy is saying it's overated. Best to test drive and make your own mind up. Personally I like this car over golf n focus.
They can't agree on those sorts of things because they are subjective assessments. What's one man's meat is another man's poison!
I've recently purchased this car in the Shine trim. Absolutely fell in love with it. Super comfortable and glides over most road imperfections, and the 1.2L engine that at first might seem extremely weak for such a big car, is actually quite powerful (except when in the ECO driving mode). Only downside is that the steering is extremely light and feels completely disconnected from the tyres themselves, but you get used to it overtime. Also the car is exceptionally good looking and sweeps tons of lovely compliments. Highly recommended.
I can't agree more, this is the most unfairly critical assessment of the rear legroom and headroom. I feel that most of the UK-based reviews seem to attack French cars in particular. AT least, most cars from Citroen, Peugeot, and Renault are different and certainly leading the design ethos and yet the quality has improved immensely. if you are to review any car then you need to be honest and stop being childish. Go to those that dare to think differently and keep inspiring the auto market with beautiful design and function. Yes, I still drive my Citroen C6 and the comfort is out of this World.
What are you expecting? - What Car, Autocar and so many others are just obsessed with German cars and, here being no exception, examine everything from the point-of-view of "why it isn't as good as the VAG or BMW". BMW could introduce a car that spontaneously combusted and they'd be "the heating system is out-of-this world - no other manufacture comes close!!". Citroen could introduce a flipping flying saucer and they'd be "it reminds us of the Jetsons and people will laugh at you if you buy one to fly over the traffic jams of burning BMWs...."

Agree they like to knock French cars in the UK My Citroen C4 7 seater is a top car.1.4 turbo diesel over 50mpg.Seating comfort top.The model isn't produced anymore.
I bought my Diesel 307SW, new, in 2007 and the only bugbear I have with it, is that typical French problem of a tiny glovebox because of their refusal to re-locate the fuse box to the RHD driver's side. However, it is getting a bit long in the tooth now, so at the end of the year (2022), I shall be looking to replace it with the C4.

I drove the C4 in Portugal for 21 days in 2019 and it was a very good experience. This was my first time driving a Citroen and I felt very safe and comfortable in it.
How did you drive it in 2019 if it was only released in October of 2020?

You got the review of the back seats completely out of proportion. There are acres of leg space and if you're struggling for headroom, just slouch slightly.
Have to agree. The rear seat legroom looked very generous in this test as far as I could make out.
I am 1.87 and i fit in the back.
no one should have to slouch in a car for it to have adequate headroom - not only is it bad for your posture, it's painful for the next and back on longer trips

i just bought my citroen c4 as i had a renault capture but loved the design and comfort of the c4. i have had it two weeks and have found it to be very good to drive and very easy to manouvre etc it has so much extra for your money and compared to the captur it is a huge upgrade. i find it very safe to drive and am very pleased with my purchase.
I have the electric version and I LOVE it so much. I have had it for about 2 and a half months now and (apart from a couple of teething troubles) I can't think of anything wrong or anything I want to change about it.
Is it significantly more comfortable than others, and how do you find the motorway range? (Am also thinking of getting one.)

Wasn't sure about the styling, but it has grown on me for being different, looks good in black.

Just had a test drive of the C4 72 plate deisel and am purchasing. A very comfortable and quiet ride. I was looking to buy a Peugeot 208 GT or 2008 but preferred the styling on the C4.
Taking delivery of the electric version in the morning. Top spec and metallic red.
Great looking externally but a bit quirky on the inside but the test drive was relaxed and comfortable. I always make a point of getting in the back to get a handle on how the passengers feel. No worries there. Boot size us adequate and easy to load with the flat floor. A far better cahivke than the out if date leaf.
If Stellantis would stick a 60kWh battery in their range, at their price points they would steal loads of customers.
Vive la France vive la Citroën. Who needs a German car if you can buy this tres belle voiture. Very nice review.
I noticed the tyres were actually a sensible size and width, never seen the point of having huge tyres on a family hatchback
195/60 R18 is not a sensible size, it's a rare size. But you can put 215/55 R18 on those wheels.

Usual informative film. I was going to buy the Mokka, but the C4 has a much bigger boot space for my wheelchair. The engines are the same and so is much of the spec. Thanks.

Took 6 months for my basic model to arrive order in August got it in January 2022 in gray
Just been for a test drive and loved it super super comfy and loved the styling but one major issue though. The seat recline knob is very stiff and very smooth making gripping and adjustment hard at best. It is also situated in such a position as to make it almost impossible to alter the recline whilest seated. We had to get out of the car and crouch down to adjust the seat which still proved difficult. Also the interior lacked quality and that is comparing it to an mg5 not a class leader. The seat issue was a deal breaker for us but I can still see the appeal of the C4.
I've had one as a courtesy car whilst my new 308 phev is in for a fault. For the price it is a very decent car. The 1.2 130bhp is very peppy. Its pretty silent in that cabin too at motorway speeds. Negatives! None really any. The spoiler on the back window is a bit annoying, but, overall its a really decent effort

Rear legroom isn’t generous ha ha it’s fecking huge in the back you have loads of leg room . Also you have mirrors and a camera why would you worry about the rear window .
Lovely car. It is tested against new EURO NCAP criteria and that's why it has only four stars.
Great to see Citreon going strength to strength love the styling, unique and nit a boring Focus or Golf, great going Citreon, back to gliding on air. Leg room is ok you want to get some glasses pal or a reviewer who can see proper.

Have one of these in Scotland, suspension is simply superb on rough potholed undulating roads, great steering brakes and clutch. And a functional attractive exterior and interior. A bit heavy on fuel (petrol) but the saving on cost outweighs it. Unbelievable value.
how much litres of petrol does it use average on 100km?
If there is not enough headroom, then buy the one with sunroof, that should solve the problem 😊

Citreon/Peugeot are seriously doing bits with their cars these days, they have improved infinitely and are starting to challenge the bigger brands, is France going to become the next Germany!
Does the sloping roof mean it would be unsuitable for dog owners? I actually like the styling etc but have a medium/large dog that would need to go in the boot
If you remove the parcel shelf, your dog would be just fine. I still prefer an estate car for that purpose, however.

No problem at all. Having owned a Hyundai Ioniq which has the same window splitting spoiler

The spoiler has the purpose of blocking blinding lights.
Nice review. Nice car too. Have to disagree with you on the legroom though; it actually looks very good to me. Especially as it's set, as you say, for a 6ft tall driver.
being a 6ft adult i can confirm that the rear legroom in the C4 is perfectly fine, you have plenty of space for your knees and head on a very comfortable seat

Greetings from Finland. I bought the 2016 c4 intensive (mid-level trim) automatic with 130hp puretech. It's a Very likeable hatchback but, there's a problem that one should consider in winter conditions in the far north or snow in general. Even with the best Nokian studded tyres Track anti-slip doesn't get a grip on snow-packed (pressed from snow tractors) roads. The Track light blinks, auto transmission grinds & I can't move! I've learned to live with it easing ever so slowly forward gaining momentum but cars behind really must wonder what's wrong. It's the same in ❄ ice mode. It might've been a deal breaker if I had tested c4 outside of town. -Cheers & Happy New Year 2022.
im 185cm tall and i can sit in the rear with no issues at all
I am a happy owner of this beautufull car since April 2021 with 11000 km till today.
BUT there are two big "BUTS".
1.Aerodynamics noices over 120km/h, like a litlle open front window (I couldn't belive it when I first heard it)!!!
2.When the car runs downhill with sicains another noice comes from the front (like CRAK-CRAK).
It happens when turns from corner to corner after braking.
Unbelievable issues for such a brand new car !!!
I am not so happy anymore.....

I´ve driven the new C4 Diesel for more than 6000 KM. The fuel economy is absolutely fantastic, and the cruise control is more advanced than I´ve expected, the full options version is fantastic. However, the car is not stable in corners as the wheels are tiny and not large enough to make this small SUV stable. Also the spoiler reduces a lot the rear visibility. Trunk also is not that much big.
What fuel economy are you getting and have you standard 18 inch wheels on? Maybe you have a lower trim level with smaller wheels?

@@kinnonmcallister No, it doesn't need a wiper. The design shape of the rear end is extremely clever, with a 'scooped out' kind of shape which throws water and muck backwards. We've had ours for two months, and no problem whatever with the usual mud covered backend of a hatchback; it looks just as clean as the rest of the car.

2023 Mayıs ayında , 2019 model Honda Eco makyajlı kasa Civic aracımı takasa vererek o günlerde almaya planladığım araca çok fark istedikleri için bütçemin elverdiği en uygun sıfır araç olarak c4 Feel Bold , benzinli, 130 beygir otomatik vites aracı buldum ve aldım.
İlk düşündüğüm araç yine Honda idi, ancak aradaki fark sıfır aracın yarı parasına denk gelince vaz geçtim.
Sonra Peugeot 408 düşündüm fakat onda da liste fiyatının çok üstünde bir bedel istediler.
Sonra marka , marka dolaştım ve benim aracıma en iyi fiyatı veren ve kendi aracına en düşük fiyatı veren citroen c4 de karar kıldım. ( Biraz da zorunlu oldu)
2004 yılından 2023 yılına kadar sırası ile ve sıfır olarak şu araçları kullandım.
2004 model sıfır benzin manuel Ford C max üç yıl, 2007 model sıfır benzin manuel Toyota Verso üç yıl , 2017 model benzin lpg otomatik Honda civic üç yıl , 2019 model benzin lpg otomatik Honda civic üç yıl.
Bunun haricinde 2000 yılından 2016 yılına kadar muhtelif marka ve modelde şirket aracı kullandım.
(Otomatik reno clio, Subaru imprezia ,Renault Fluence, skoda oktavia, fiat linea,wv cady , opel combo, )
Kullandığım üst marka , model veya sınıfları saymaz isek ( Jaguar, range Rover, tesla, Toog, Mercedes , BMW vb ) almış olduğum c4 dü orta segment araçlara göre değerlendireceğim.
Bu arada bir aracı alırken benim ilk üç kriterim
1. Orta seviye sessizlik . ( motor, yol, rüzgar, trim)
2. Yüksek seviye Konfor. ( Süspansiyon, koltuk, oturma pozisyonu)
3. Ya sev ya nefret et Tasarım. ( Göze farklı gelen modeller, alışılmışın dışında)
Bu bilgiler ışığında c4 de beğendiğim ve beğenmediğim özellikler aşağıda gibidir.

1. Süspansiyon, koltuk, oturma pozisyonu ve direksiyon konforu sınıfının ve parasının üstünde.

5. Daha üst bütçesi olanlara Nissan E-Pover Qashqai şiddetle test etmelerini tavsiye ederim.

I really like this, and it's big brother the C5X. Although the petrol versions are quite reasonably priced, it does get expensive if you want a hybrid.
Why didnt you compare it with Peugeot 2008?
Probably because peugeot 2008 is a standard small suv like a ford puma and Nissan juke. C4 is more of a slightly elevated coupe/family car

I think the two are comparable. Well, I compared them anyway. The Peugeot is harder sprung, has a bigger boot, a slightly smaller back seat and boxier design. The Citroen is more comfortable, the Peugeot is sportier. What one prefer is matter of taste.
why no hybrid from this or peugeot…. hybrid is best urban compromise

you should write to Citroen Australia and complain - otherwise the common distributor for Peugeot and Citroen in Australia is going to continue to poorly specify their offering and then wonder why they continue to have such bad sales records, despite both these companies offering better automobiles than many other brands on the market. Also, Australians seem to have a thing against French cars - prejudice that hasn't been updated in recent years... A great example is that Peugeot Australia never specified the new 508 with the infrared camera to detect animals in front of the car - if any country in the world could benefit from infrared animal detection cameras for country driving from dusk onwards, it is Australia. Such cameras are common now in German cars. Something really hopeless about the Australia distributors of a number of car brands - Honda is another one - and they have no idea how to stragically market and shift the perception of French cars in Australia to the current reality of what is being manufactured. Also, have you noticed how bad Australian auto journalists are? Probably why you have to come to channels like this!

I hate some of these reviewers when they nit pick at problems that aren't there, That car had plenty of legroom and then forcing himself so his head hit the roof. I also hate it when they mention scratchy plastic in the footwell area,if you have dirty shoes it's easier to wipe off you wouldn't want expensive materials.

I recently bought one in the shine plus spec 1.6 diesel auto. The one thing I think it’s totally rubbish, is the media system the sat nav screen is difficult to see and Tom Tom is a rubbish platform. You can’t hardly see what your typing in.
As a workaround use the App and send the location to the car.
The boot is kind of small and it isn't that cheap either. Why this over a more traditional hatch? Not feeling it...

I have an anonymous C4 and that is fine by me. Anonymity is my bag..... Cars liked this trend to be good and go under the radar, selling for way less.

I have a Fiat 500L 13 plate and put my iPad on the dash vents and it better then the new cars today and I use Bluetooth for the apps simple and easy. So don’t waste your money on these expensive cars

Unfortunately, the Euro NCAP standards have just been changed - they're reviewed every six years but this car was designed to the 2016 standard along with a good many others.
Bouncy ride and body roll in a family car. Better bring something to clean the rear seats.

You CANNOT compare this to a proper SUV!
For a start. Any make of SUV will be 5 to 10k more than this top end spec. If the seat position is higher than a BMW X2 then that's good enough for me.
This car is not aimed at your age demographic.
It's more aimed at older Adults because the seats and suspension are second to none.
The 1.2 petrol 155 bhp can do 0 to 60 in 8.5 seconds, so the speed is there if you need it.
Only downside is the masses of plastic trim.
In my opinion.
