Great video, I've just replaced mine some days ago with another agm but with 80amp, the process of registration is crucial for the charging system can work as it should
Thanks, I didn't know yet how to take off the positive terminal. BTW looked like you initially forgot to take off the plastic caps from the connectors ;-)
I replaced my battery in 2018 with a bmw from dealership and still good! I've been researching for replacement and as I understand, lead acid will last longer and AGM is a 3yr battery. I just ckd my battery and it looks lika it's a LeadAcid BMW OEM made in Austria. (this is a 2006 325i E90). So, LeadAcid is cheaper and lasts longer! unless I saw it wrong in previous videos?!...
Great Video and perfect timing for me. My 2008 E90 335XI likely needs a new battery. I have been getting that low battery alert on and off for a while now and the clock has been resetting all the time as well as some other signs that may be related. The car last night for the first time would not start. Strangely, the interior lights are very bright when you open the door, which I thought they'd be dim with a weak battery. I hope at least this not starting last night (nothing happens when you push the start button) is in fact the bad battery as I can at least handle that repair. I will need to buy a scanner however. Any recommendations on scanners are welcome. Thanks for doing a great job on this video.Very well done. Phil NYC Area
Yeah that definitely sounds like a bad battery. I recommend using Carly for BMW scanner/app, it'll allow you to register your new battery and it has a bunch of other coding features for your BMW. It can also read and clear codes for you.
hey bro quick question i just pick up a e90 2011 335i the car wont start but after i jump start it then it turn on i drive for hour nothing wrong but when i turn off the engine and try to start it again it wont start unless i jump it again is that mean my battery is bad?
Yes im pretty sure that means your battery needs to be replaced. are you able to turn on the electronics when you press the start button once without the brake?
My e91 Has been tripping back this winter and now started doing it again. Its manual so when i shift into first and take off it will either jerk or the iDrive will restart showing the “BMW” screen like when you first turn on the car, the gauges will dip as if i turned off the car and if I’m accelerating or breaking i can feel the drop in acceleration/braking; sometimes it does this over and over making me look like an asshole blinking my lights and jerking down the road. I thought it was the battery but it’s finally given Me the warning to check battery terminals. I went back and punched the red one and didn’t give me any problems till recently again, wat do?
@@isaacontiveros2246 hey so a while ago I checked everything to do with power on my car and while checking the battery i saw my positive terminal had the cable part pointed too far upward and was bending too far that the red plastic was pulled back exposing the cable and some black burn markson the red part indicated i needed a new one. I replaced the + terminal around october/november and it hasnt given me any problem since. Even fixed some issues that were caused by the faulty cable
@@Wergrun so u change the + terminal, and everything went back to work normally right? So, by taking either 1 or both terminals, would that cause the battery to deprogram from the system? I have a dead battery and I want to check both terminals to see if they are dirty or loose. I’m just afraid that if I unplug one or both terminals the battery is going to be desprogram from the car system or ECU. Thank you.
Do you have to change the charge rate and register the battery once it's been changed if it's different from the one your taking out on a 3 series 2007 E90 ?
If youre switching from lead acid to AGM then yes youd register and have to do extra coding so the car effciently charges the AMG battery. If youre just simply replacing the battery with the same type, then you only need to register it so the car knows you have a new battery.
No, I don't think so. Based on what I know, batteries don't have any effect on engine power. The only time a battery plays a role is when you the start the engine. I would think that's something else in the engine that's reducing. However I don't consider myself an expert. power. Do you have a check engine light?
hey love the video, smart move putting music over it- to drown out all of the cussing and throwing of sockets! good work man, you helped me a ton

Much Love for The Video and Guidance. I just got a 2006 BMW E90 325i
This video helped so much! My car battery must be going out as well! Same problems with the music when I want to jam the radio!

Have you changed your transmission fluid by chance!!!? I been searching for answers in the e90 community but no results!?
any responces??
Supposed to change it, is not lifetime like bmw says. There's videos on UA-cam and tutorials online.
I found the videos & I have Changed the transmission fluid / filter successfully. The BM shifts & runs smooth. It’s not a hard job at all.
@@90svision99Did you do it yourself g? That’s 1 of the two codes I have smh. Want to change it asap.
will a lauch creader work for e90?

Will a dead batter cause an abs light to come on the abs light turned on and car won’t start any idea what that could be ?
Were you having any of the other signs that I mentioned in the video?
Same thing happening in my cars case, you figured out the cause of this
do we need to have backup/3rd party battery during this change?
noo

how much do the lead battery's last
About 3-5 years

Tie the terminals for more room
