    When you transition over to the fry scream, do you still feel the vibration in your false chords that you get when doing Kargyraa or does that drop away?

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 роки тому +11

      Hi! It's still there but the sound get's a little bit closer to the soft palate. It's also much lighter and just a little bit thinner like I went closer to the mix voice from a chest voice but the placement for engaging the false vocal folds is still there.
      BUT in the beginning of the practice it can be pretty confusing because the distortion wants to "disappear" or it feels like the kargyraa and the fry scream are a totally different things and it's impossible to get a smooth transition (I was there), so it's something that requires some patience and observation.

    Okay, imagine the kargyraa or over tone singing, but push it harder, and louder making it tighter, thats my problem, just yelling in general, learned the throat technique when i was younger, and it just integrated itself into me trying to musically yell, and its also been a problem just trying to sing cleaner with a louder voice, and its just been a little frustrating because its integrated itself naturally like that.. Its probably not good screaming/yelling like that but ive been doing it for so long, it doesnt hurt, or irritate my throat how it should because its such a tight oscillation. How can i unlearn it? I stopped for a whole year hoping my throat would like forget how to do that but its just natural.

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I've had a similiar issue but with using the grit for singing - I was using way too much distortion, but that's how my voice adapted to raspy vocals naturally and it was pretty hard to unlearn it at first.
      What helped me was to practice with the vocal fry (smooth dynamic transitions between the vocal fry and clean voice through my range) and combining it later with the compression. It was useful for finding a little bit more gentle raspiness and to add the heavier one (that I learnt from the throat singing) if necessary.
      When it comes to a kargyraa to fry scream transition, amplifying the sound is not the best foundations (for some people it's helpful but from what I observe for the most, it's not). What works better is to take your kargyraa to the point where your voice is breaking, but without "falling" into the falsetto.
      I think that I show such a transition in this video:
      ua-cam.com/video/w-Z1bWXEe0s/v-deo.html
      And this one:
      ua-cam.com/video/u0CCwBMwtoE/v-deo.html
      If your voice distorts when you try to sing higher, it can mean to you push too hard with your chest voice, so learning how to use head voice or mix voice or how to engage the upper resonators for singing with the chest voice (singing on masque) can be very helpful!
      If you had more questions or needed more details, feel free to write to me on email - xvocalcenter@gmail.com - I'll do my best to help!

      If false chord is your "default technique", then your voice can automatically switch for it instead of the fry scream. I went through it a few years ago when I started to practice various ways of achieving fry scream (vocal break, kargyraa, distortion etc.).

  • @Brandon_Renegade

    feel a little tenderness in my throat after trying to go into the higher scream with this technique, is that normal? It feels completely different from my normal false chord screams.

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Brandon! Fry scream engaging false vocal folds is something different than "pure" false chord screaming, because when it comes to the fry scream, vocal folds (although being more relaxed than while singing) are closed and they are not when you do "pure false chord scream/ growl".
      False cord is not engaging true vocal folds. Fry scream makes vocal folds vibrate in a very fast amd chaotic way, they are relaxed but closed at the same time. That's the major difference between those 2 techniques.
      That's why probably they feel different for you :)
      If "tenderness" means a little bit of "warmth", then it can be pretty normal, but if you feel any kind of irritation, tickling, inflamation etc., than it's not healthy.
      It would be easier to tell more about your technique so if you have any recording, feel free to send me it on email - xvocalcenter@gmail.com - I will do my best to help (for free)!

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  3 роки тому

      Siema, jest kilka sposobów na to jak uzyskać wibrato, ale trochę trudno mi to wytłumaczyć za pośrednictwem jedynie komentarza. Najprostszy sposób to odpalenie metronomu, np. na 50-60 bpm, zaśpiewanie dźwięku, utrzymanie go i "falowanie" nim do uderzeń metronomu. Każde uderzenie to kolejna "fala", z czasem można, a nawet jest to wskazane podwyższać tempo metronomu oraz "drgań".

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  2 роки тому

      Siemka, bardzo słabo znam twórczość Nocnego Kochanka, więc trudno mi powiedzieć.
      W Complete Vocal Technique jest hammer vibrato, które brzmi jak karabin maszynowy albo koza (seria gwałtownych ataków dźwięku).
      Jest też "przeponowe" czyli to pulsacyjne jak mniemam, które powstaje w wyniku pulsującego napinania mięśni odpowiedzialnych za podparcie.
      Krtaniowe vibrato powstaje kiedy porusza się krtanią w górę i w dół na przemian podczas trzymania dźwięku.

    • @sibilaextremevocal
      @sibilaextremevocal  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Mayby you put too much pressure on your larynx when you start with the kargyraa. It's pretty common and it makes the sound stuck in the throat. Kargyraa sounds rough but is pretty much laid back. What helps is the proper placement for the distortion (a little bit above) the larynx, opened throat (lifted soft palate, no intense pushing from the throat, feeling space and free flow of the sound, comfort) and the support.
      Did you try the throat singing tutorial?

    Od roku się bawię z mongolsim śpiewiem gardłowym i potrafię kargyraa oraz khoomei, ale na boga nie potrafię ogarnąć sygyt, a to jest w sumie najfajniejszy i najzabawniejszy styl śpiewania. Na Boga, jeśli ktoś potrafi zrobić sygyt i mnie nauczyć, to napiszcie w komentarzu, bo potrzebuję wiedzieć. Jedyny gwiżdżący dźwięk wychodzi ode mnie z khoomei, ale to nie jest prawdziwe sygyt. Tak czy siak, masz fajne poradniki sibila, ale jednak nie potrafię za nimi podążać. Cała zabawa z głosem powstaje u mnie od zera i od naśladownictwa dźwięków jakie zasłyszę. Może masz jakieś porady, jak do tego podejść bardziej profesjonalnie lub co robić, abym w przyszłości nie stracił głosu przez głupoty. (btw, potrawisz zrobić krzyk R2D2? ua-cam.com/video/B6mh45mA_JY/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LaurentRIVIERE Ostatnimi czasy znajomi proszą mnię abym robił ten dźwięk i odgłosy orka (czyli inhale scream), które mogę kiedyś przesłać, jeśli kto chętny). R2D2 scream to po prostu bardzo wysoki, skompresowany dźwięk z przesterem, nic trudnego. Często wychodzi wtedy kiedy próbuje się zrobić wysoki false cord scream, ale przy tym angażuje się niepotrzebnie struny głosowe. Ew. wychodzi coś jak kruk albo wokal z AC/DC :D
      Inhale nie jest zbyt zdrowy, natomiast o tym pewnie już wiesz.
