It took me a bit to figure out why this old engine would start. It felt like a fail for while but in the end I was victorious!

Great video, thanks again. Pretty cool to see another L134 back in action. Quick suggestion; My 1946 CJ2A starts hard (but starts easy once warmed up) - any possibility of a vid to show tips and tricks for easier starting of a L134? I for one could really use some pointers! Best regards, Dan
Thanks! Later this spring I can try to do an L-head tuneup video. If the engine is healthy it usually just needs a little tlc to start better. The Carburetor is often the culprit.
That would be great, thanks again. Btw, my CJ2A is still a 6 volt system, so I'd be very interested for any suggestions to improve starting. Cheers, Dan =)
What happened to "no influencer tricks"???? HAHAHA I call Shenanigans!! JK Nice work. Very satisfying when it finally comes to life.
Haha well… after 3 late nights and 35° shop temps….a corrupted memory card, lost footage, dead camera batteries and greasy hands said screw it! I left the camera in the house and decide to just get the work done! You guys deserved to see the whole process but since I lost the footage I figured this was better than nothing 🤷♂️ sometimes it just feels like you’re running up hill haha!
I for 1 ,agree..ya got it done ..n ..ready to run!!
And it is! PERIOD! Now, the fun of the build can begin!!
Thanks for sharing
Seth!

At least they had items in stock. Every time I order it is days with no updates. I then email or call and the item is out of stock with an unknown time frame. I sadly stopped ordering from them. Once out of ten orders actually being available was ridiculous.
Right on man! Hearing something fire after working on it always makes me giddy and smile. Even if it’s the lawnmower in the spring that won’t start….
Offtopic question. I noticed your tdi jeep appears to have sound deadening on the underside of the hood. Did you notice a difference before and after? Is it worth the time and effort?
Thanks! Yes I agree. So rewarding once it finally lights off after being silent for so many years. In my opinion the sound deadening stuff only helps a little. If I were to do it again I would just put a few random squares in the middle of large panels. I definitely wouldn’t cover the whole thing. It’s unnecessary.
Nice sounds great
So cool to see another L head revived and back to life.
I have one question for you, Seth. I was binge watching some of your older videos and found a short with the rotary Gpw exhaust sound. But it was published a while before you had any videos of rotary swapping, and still had a rear pto. So I'm thinking it was still an L head. If so, what exhaust were you using? It sounded really awesome. I'm planning an exhaust for my hurricane. Was wondering what muffler might make it sound cooler? Thanks.
Thanks! Yeah before the Gpw had a rotary swap… it was an L-head. I made a custom 2” full stainless exhaust for it. It was pretty basic with a 14” turbine style muffler. It was too loud for my taste but did sound kinda cool.
@redeyecafegarage7484 Thank you! I was planning on getting pre bent pipes from KW enough to get to the rear axle and then an adapter with a custom muffler. I had no idea what muffler to get, I just wanted something unique. Thank you again!
