I will always love this show however, I miss how Oliver used to narrate earlier episodes during season 1. I also miss Oliver being on his own Lonesome mission to save his city. season 5 is doing great though.
Oh yeah! The narration! I think there's somethings special about the whole initial setup of two guys in a basement systematically taking down the crime world. It's very David vs Goliath.

When Oliver was mentally being tortured and seemingly unable to do anything to help anyone. I wonder if Oliver in season 6 is going to go back to working alone with only Diggle and maybe Felicity, I like her story arc rn but her character had a drastic downfall which is sad because I really liked her character. I wish Flashpoint on the Flash changed Felicity's personality.

I'd say that 5 is tied with 1 after the finale. Although, the finale of 5 is the best ep of the show ever for me.
sadly 5 holds the record tho of having the absolute worst episode ever with the gun ep. complete horseshit in every regard.
The gun episode is only bad if you disagree with their stance on the issue. Objectively there's nothing wrong with it.
Quinn Lawless I'm not going to beat around the bush, if you think that any part of that episode made any sense, you have a screw loose. It's not even a disagree issue, it strait stated that No Law Could Have Prevented What Happened. The guy in the ep was a mass shooter who did it because of a mass shooting. He literally killed people because of his family being killed. So they, in the end, passed more UNDEFINED gun laws to appease the idiotic press while still giving into idiots. Objectively, it was a mess of an episode that tried to play both sides and failed because it made zero sense and the entire episode was a joke on itself. it was unneeded and passed by some idiot who has no idea about whats really going on in the world so he used his stroke in TV to get a dumbass idea across. Name one good part of that episode and i might agree, but nah man, if you are into this antigun propaganda, then you are not a student of history or the present.

I agree but, S3 was mediocre and looks even more underwhelming compared to S2, and S4 almost got to stop watching the show entirely

Honestly I think 5 is just as bad as 4. It's just not interesting to watch and all the characters are just annoying. The end of season 4 made it seem like the show would go back to its roots but just brought on a new team which is easily worse than all the former team members.
Myles Bandel you sir, are an idiot. 5 has an amazing villain who is only beaten by Deathstroke, and while the new characters are annoying at first, they're not after you get to know them. Also, the old team Arrow was better than this one and season 5's is pretty good (But season 3's was the best)
Season 1 of Arrow had a slow start introducing all the characters but it really took off by the mid-season finale when Malcolm Merlyn was revealed as the Black Archer. Season 2 of Arrow was the absolute best and the peak of the show, the whole Slade Wilson/Deathstroke story was the best and it had the best cast with Sara Lance as Canary and Roy Harper as Arsenal. Season 2 also introduced Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin before the Flash series began. This makes season 2 the peak of Arrow in all aspects. I really miss the first 2 seasons with the Huntress, Vertigo drug, China White, Mirakuru, the Glades, Slade Wilson, Nyssa Al Ghul, Shado, Moira Queen, Sebastian Blood, Roy Harper/Arsenal, etc. All the amazing stories it offered.
Season 3 of Arrow had great start but it ended terribly, I think between Sara Lance's death and Oliver being killed by Ra's Al Ghul is when the decline began, but I'm telling you season 3 had a really bad ending especially by the time Roy Harper quit the team and Oliver got with Felicity. Season 3 probably had the worst plot on the show but the episodes itself were still better than season 4. Season 4's plot was slightly better but overall as a season when it came to the episodes it was the worst, because it became so focused on Felicity including her annoying mom and I thought some episodes were retarded like Lisa Warner or the way Laurel Lance's death was played out. The Damien Dark story ended pretty well though. Season 5 of Arrow has been better so far but it won't ever be on the same level as 1 or 2.

Honestly, Curtis would work better on Legends of Tomorrow. That would allow him to grow to his full potential, comic book-y awesomeness. Arrow is too grounded for Mr. Terrific.

I never wanted Oliver to touch felicity. They didn't make sense together. And I'm not talking about how she isn't a fighter. They're completely two different people with the only thing in common is the need to help others. They had no synergy outside of comic relief. Them being together felt forced and fan service.

the flashbacks were one of the many many reasons we needed oliver to slowly transform into his comic book counterpart by season 5, so then when we see the stoic badass in the flashbacks, we're contrasted by his bright new, funny, charming personality

The saddest part is that even Emily Bett Rickards stated several times in the past that she didn't like the direction her character took, and that she missed playing the quirky, somewhat clumsy with words Felicity from the first two seasons.

the only reason you need is Sarah Lance as the Black Canary💜💙👑 might not be comic book accurate but she's the only woman on that show to actually do the character justice,plus her and oliver had the healthiest relationship He's ever had on the damn show,not to mention she's the only actual independent woman in the entire FlarrowVerse

i love season 1 and 2 because oliver used to torture or kill his enemies without doubt...Now we can see him like this only in bratva flashbacks(he is badass btw).Also sara's comeback in Star city made me love the season 2.

season 3 was still good, season 4 was really disappointing, but it wasnt awful, and season 5 was almost just as good as seasons 1 and 2

I'd love to see a video on Felicity. One of the things that messed her up the most was the whole accident+miraculous recovery arc and Curtis, who's basically also Felicity but with a slightly different field of expertise.
season 1 of arrow will always have a special place in my heart ❤️, season 2 was just as good but the nostalgia of 1 and initial motivations are what made s1 the best

I don't mind her character personally, but they can't kill her off, because Green Arrow needs her for technical support. I mean I guess they could use Curtis for that also, so it is a possibility that he could replace her if she died.
They actually more or less killed that idea by introducing the T spheres. Now he is more field support capable than before.

I honestly think season 5 is up there with the first 2, as of the latest episode. It's got some of season 4's flaws but a lot of the first 2 season's strengths. It's not the best YET, but if it continues the way it's going, it may yet surpass the first 2 for me. Prometheus is a fascinating villain, Oliver's getting back on track, the oliciters are whining and complaining, the action is the best it's ever been, Felicity keeps getting less and less screen time, and it's currently more focused than The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow.

Godzillarex you should see it! It's the most consistently good "superhero" show out there. It also has some interesting fights too. Great appearances and themes from the comics and great plot twists. Though you would need to force your way through the first few episodes til a certain episode that changed everything...

Season one was pretty meh (minus the last few episodes) but after that the show really takes off. I'm really enjoying it now and I like the transitions the 4th season is doing.
I think one of the main reasons is that it was a lot more grounded . It took care for plot holes and always made sure that whatever the characters were doing made sense . One example I can take from Season 4 is when Oliver and Thea promptly get their asses handed to them by Anarky . So lets get this straight . Oliver , who beat Ra`s Al Titty-Fucking Ghul , got his ass handed to him by some teenager with a stick . That is ATROCIOUSLY bad writing . Season 4 was a lot more comic booky and didnt really give a fuck about wheter it made sense or not .

I've said this on your channel before, but man, it is good to hear that you back up your perspectives with logic, even if I don't agree with all of your points. My thoughts:
I realize that this is pretty much the exact opposite to the popular opinion, but I really liked Season 4. Oh, it's not perfect, don't get me wrong(you mentioned some of the problems), but I really enjoyed many things about it. True, Arrow wasn't the one-man army he used to be, but to me, that made sense in context since in Season 4, they were facing H.I.V.E., who definitely wasn't comprised of your typical street thugs. The soldiers in H.I.V.E. were highly trained and a force to be reckoned with, so of course it would be MUCH harder to clear a room full of them than a room full of street thugs.
And I really enjoyed Damien Dahrk as a villain. Sure, he didn't give off as threatening of an air as Merlyn or Deathstroke, but in my opinion, not every villain has to be like that. I liked the fact that Dahrk constantly shot off one-liners-it was very entertaining. The show was trying something new with Dahrk, trying to be different, and I really appreciated it. I also loved how they added in that he had a wife and kid, and how they tied that in to his motivations. AND I loved how the overall conflict between Team Arrow and Dahrk was done in a very different way than previous conflicts. As Diggle put it, it would be "fought in the light of day." At the very least, I thought he was a much better villain than Ra's Al Ghul, at least the way the show portrayed him. Season 4 isn't my favorite(that would be 5), but I still really enjoyed it.
I could go on, but I feel like I've rambled plenty. I love talking about this show.

I agree 100% season 1 and 2 are the best seasons of arrow out. Though I do like where there going in season 5 really hope they don't screw up lol I did like season 3 but season 4... Not really at all like ya said it's green arrow he should be able to take on most of anyone he runs into. But whatever, he's sidekicks needed more screen time I guess.. Great video btw!

I agree. Season 5 seems to be redeeming the show though. The only thing I could complain about the first two seasons were that they used too much elements from Batman mythology. Heck he even borrowed some Bat villains like Firefly, Deadshot, and the Royal Flush Gang, culminating in them using Ra's Al Ghul in S3.
He didn't actually reveal his identity to Helena she figured it out by seeing him fight as the Hood and and as himself.
He took her to his arrow cave, trained her, and gave her a costume. That, to me, was completely revealing everything to her.
The moment he stopped killing ruined the show.
damien251 he stopped killing in season 2 and season 2 was amazing. killing isn't what made Oliver badass. it was the ease in which he took out the enemies. When that EASE died out is when the show was "ruined"
Not really. Not killing because of Tommy, defined the character’s morals and change of heart. Worthless characters and stupid storylines ruined the flow of the series.

Also, occasionally TV shows get to a point where when they've been on for a while and so much has happened, you can forget some storylines
Don't know if it just me but I think the music has a huge impact on it also I loved the soundtrack of Season 1 and 2 and really helped to extend the atmosphere of even lesser villains, I think the music quality drop a bit after Season 2. I think Season 5 is really up there again now though in every regard, Prometheus is a great villain, Oliver is back to being a badass and the team are really only there for support not to take over. Felicity isn't as annoying this season either and I like the Helix storyline she's going into it allows her to do a bit more to help to the team without being as awful. Vigilante is also a great secondary bad because he's mysterious and reminds Oliver of what he used to be (without the guns of course) along with Prometheus. Arrow is the best superhero show this year again.

I think a big issue with the other seasons specifically the flash backs is them leaving the island. The survival fearful, crafting a man into a fearless hunter sold better in my eyes.

Arrow is kind of a mix of Sam raimi Spider-Man with the narration etc. and also like the dark knight with the dark tone etc. but also has good elements form itself I love it and think it’s underrated

Great points, especially about the villains and the nature of death. The flashbacks aren't the highlight of any season, but at least those first two seasons had characters we actually cared about. Maseo and Tatsu were never as intriguing as Slade and Shado. And not one of the season-four flashback characters were worthwhile.
Season 5 got really good, not as good as 1 or 2, but still. And the last episode? Best finale ever, surpassed even S2 and S1.

I think season five is a nice turn around to bring him back for circle compared to seasons three and four season five is a nice improvement but I never thought that season three and four were as bad as some of the Arrow fans thought

The first two seasons were the best because it had the best balance between action and character arcs. Oliver Queen made sense as a hero: he knew what needs to be done to save the city, the was ready to sacrifice his personal happiness for the 'little guy'. He was bad ass, and even though he killed he was bigger hero than the one we've got in the end seasons. Then we also had Sara Lance as Black Canary: very human and realistic female character with her own arc and development, her own villains, family and sidekick - Sin. She was just one of the best written female characters and enriched the show and Oliver as character. Then we had Slade Wilson - complicated man with big ego who got mad from jealousy and mirakuru. He was the best personal villain, and really menacing. Moira Queen was another amazing character - she is the one that sacrifices the city for the safety of her family.( these days it seems Oliver took this part). Shado was another great character in the flashbacks. Roy Harper had great potential. After that they just got rid of all the good characters and stories, and focused on the disconnected minor characters that contributed nothing to the story. Season 3 was about introducing Ra's and the League but instead of focusing on that, they killed the character that introduced and connected them with the rest - Canary, and focused on Laurel taking her place which contributed nothing to the main story. Then they focused on Oliver and another romance, which also brought nothing to the main story but some drama. I don't even know what season 4 is about - maybe romance drama. Season 5 is good because they just copied season 5, then season 6 and 7 are just random stories for random characters, and Oliver just struggling being a family man and a hero, which to be honest realistically ruined his character as he trying to do both made him bad hero and bad family man.

Ollie and roy should be the only fighters in team arrow, except occasionally diggle
1,2,5,7,8 - all great. quality dropped a little elsewhere but they did a damn good job overall. Other shows action/drama/character based show I enjoyed consistently being Roswell, Smallville and Alias. Heard good things about The Flash but not given it a go yet.
As far as Oliver in season 5 vs the flashbacks in season 5, don't see Oliver skinning somebody for the sake of practice, that was by far the scariest seen with Oliver from the entire series
i really enjoyed this video! yeah i didn't really enjoy season 4 but season 3 was alright. to be completely honest the police chasing oliver and the revenge of Detective lance was actually pretty cool. I like roy and laurel actually grew on me but season 4 was so inconsistent and Oliver fighting someone with magic was just insane.Besides curtis I am enjoying season 5
Season 5 is good so far. But it's so different now you know? The cast is so big. I feel it's easy to lose focus on Oliver.

you know what, though? speaking as someone who loved felicity in the early seasons, she had more than a few shades of that nagging judginess back then, too. i'm currently rewatching them and man, so judgy and self-righteous sometimes and it kills me that i either didn't notice the first time around or i just excused it. the fact that i never shipped olicity and the relationship brought those traits into the spotlight on a near weekly basis definitely helped me realize

yeah, seems so. but if you go back and watch those earlier episodes (mostly in season 2 with sara and laurel and isabel), it's VERY noticeable. it's pretty disheartening, really. it's weird how you ignore shit like that when its a character you enjoy
In my own opinion, I think season 2 is the best. With the whole Slade drama (which was very awesome) and Sara being there for Oliver and being the Black Canary. Also I think the worst season maybe was Season 4 or 5, idk I just hated those seasons..
Arrow season 3 wasn't that bad it was just the finale was shit. The first half was actually good. Episode 309 was one of the best episodes in the show

I love seasons 1 & 2, I prefer season 1 because of just how well written it was, plus when Tommy dies, man that still gets to me. It was such an emotional scene. As for 3,4 and 5, I have to agree with most that 3 & 4 weren't particularly good, I did like Damien Dahrk because of his charm but he never really did seem all that threatening, also I didn't like how they had tried upping the ante by threatening to destroy the city in season 3 then the whole planet in season 4, It's nice that season 5 just focus's on Oliver's friends and way of life being targeted, I think that this makes it more believable and gives a nod to season 2 and Deathstroke's motivations and plan, he doesn't want to annihilate the world, he just wants to ruin Oliver's life and everyone he holds dear. Great video btw.
I don't hate seasons 3 and 4 but they are only ok. 1 and 2 are great though watching olivers character develop, and also the villains were great. Season 5 is my favorite however because I do like the team aspect, and it felt like a tribute to the earlier seasons, also Prometheus was a great villain.
Well, after the last few episodes of arrow, season 5 seems promising and going back to the roots of season 1&2
Honestly it's main problem is twofold. 1: Felicity is such a omnipresent character, despite being the most terrible human being in all of the Arrowverse, they just outright need to get rid of her completely, and 2: They gotta let go of that flashback thing. It was cool in season 1 and 2 to see the story of how he became Arrow and explaining the backstory as it became releveant, but they kept doing that every single time, with every single villain and it just made Olliver completely unrealistic. At first he was a dude who could now shoot bow and arrow because he had to survive on an island. Ok. Then he became a good warrior because there had been smugglers on there, ok. But then he left the island, came back to the island, left again, became a secret agent, returned again, left again, became a trained super ninja assassin spy, returned again, became a sorcerer, left again, returned again, at some point this was just so unrealistically overdone that it turned from an interesting storytelling device to so desperately engrained into the story that the story suffered form it.
Arrow doesn't NEED a personal history from when he was on the island for every single villain to ever exist on the show. That's simply not necesarry. It's getting just as overdone as "Flashs new enemy is an evil speedster".

Most "Arrow" fans agree that seasons one and two represent the show at it's best. Seasons three and four were also good however both were uneven with story pacing and plot lines that were lagging and the series was not as consistent as it previously was contributing to the drop in quality.
Season five however has been a strong return to form. This has been particularly true since the milestone 100th episode which coincidices with the major crossover event with the other DC shows.
The Prometheus/Adrian Chase story line has also given Oliver a worthy adversary to lock horns with. Whilst the bar was set high with Slade Wilson, Chase is proving to be a formidable foe in his own right and with Talia Al Ghul thrown into the mix this looks to be an exciting showdown.
Does anyone else feel that the new suit just looks so much sillier and less brutal looking that the old suit? I feel like oliver looked so much cooler with the longer hood.

a producer that took after season 2 (i think the first went to make flash instead) the problem is he loves to put "Felicity and Friends" on front of the real protagonist and Storylines u_u
Also Wendy Mericle is another cancer for the show, she came in season 4 (aka the worst so far)
And hadn't forced his Felicity obsession onto the show yet.

i love the show!!! all of them are good but season 1 is the best due to just the sheer ruthlessness he deals out!. love season 5 so far much better than 4 although it was still good.
