My fav episode was defo the one where Adrian broke Oliver. Normally in most superhero/hero stories the villain stays ahead of the hero until there's a turning point. The hero overtakes the big bad and essentially traps them overtaking the villain and then defeating them. The best amd most interesting thing about Prometheus was Oliver NEVER gets in front of him. Even as Adrian kills himself Oliver doesn't win. Its so good.
Mary yeah but it did show often that Oliver was a better fighter. I thought that was interesting but I don't think it adds anything
Oliver does prove Prometheus wrong when he refuses to kill him and comes to terms with his past, but yeah, he never gets ahead in the more literal conflict.
Kapushion? Yeah that was awesome. Other than that it was the best flashback episode of the season (my opinion).
It's good that Felicity admits her wrongs and I slightly like her again because of it, but due to events from S3, 4 & most of 5 I still dislike her. The whole Helix thing is just unforgivable.

She admits it in the bunker episode yes.. But right at Lian Yu she agains blames Oliver and even still holds grudge against not being consulted on the matter of HIS son, in her conversation with Samantha
It would've been a better kill off in season 4 to kill Felicity rather than Laurel. The romance in that season would've made that more tragic and given an open door for the Laurel/Oliver romance

Laurel was a bore.
She's nothing compared to Felicity, but she's always been overrated among a subset of fans.
Laurel was the worst character in S2, mediocre in S3 and S1, and forgettable in S4.
I prefer Felicity by far
Derek Firth Laurels death is what made Oliver go back to be a killer again, breaking his promise to Tommy for not to keep killing his enemies in the process.

i hate felicity because of how inhuman she is, in season 4 and 5 as she is completely apathetic to the fact that Oliver's son will ALWAYS come first and should ALWAYS come first as that is one of Arrow's biggest themes (a parent doing everything for their child). She went through her own damn arc where she learned this from her mom so how could she not understand that it wasn't ever a matter of trust it was an ultimatum

+Kal_g Thanks man! I wanted to make a follow up video to the last one and felt a real change of heart with that episode in Season 5. I honestly think the writers even came to see how much they had changed her character
I definitely think that the writers did a good thing by making her acknowledge how much of a hypocrite she had been. Now, to answer some of your questions, Guggenheim said several things:
1/ Whatever the writers decide, while he is showrunner, Thea is safe. He feels like Oliver has lost too much already, plus he seems to enjoy Thea as a character.
2/ Apparently, Willa Holland had a reduced contract this season, but I don't know why.
3/ Felicity is safe, sorry if you hate her with a passion guys ^_^

I agree with you that the writers tried to redeem Felicity. Her interactions with Oliver (especially in the last half of the season) were quite pivotal in the advancement of both their characters.
However in terms of relationship, for me, that's broken. It'd be great if they could evolve into close platonic friends, but I doubt the CW would do that.
Honestly, during the last few episodes when it looked like they might be patching things up it made me cringe.
Right now the best case scenario would be everyone BUT Felicity survives the island explosion.
Also, Oliver hasnt had a home this season.

I don't think Felicity is necessary Oliver did plenty of tech stuff before she came onto the main cast they nerfed him to make her more relevant
Felicity was significantly less annoying not because her writing was better she was better cause she was less prominent.
She is still super annoying and thinks she deserves to know everything and is a bitch about it (last episode when she talks to Williams mom proves it)
She still undermines Oliver whenever she can and then says shit like "I always agree with you but you didn't back my play" Bull Shit
What I hate is the absolute hypocrisy of Felicity is still present and isn't gone just cause she's around less.
The romance shouldn't start again they've tried it already and it failed.

The vigilante was going to be adrian chase but they changed it to Prometheus because it was very predictable

Godzillarex when josh seggara was first playing adrian chase he thought he would be playing the vigilante but was only later on told he wouldn't play him but prometheus as it would be to predictable he said this himself in an interview
So the actor thought it, okay, that makes sense. Probably didn't keep him in the loop so he doesn't reveal it in an interview then

I can stand felicity, but i hate how ever since season 3ish and on from there. But it was so much better when he didn't have a team, or when it was just him diggle and felicity. I loved how op he was. He could slowly walk up to 5 enemies and destroy them. I liked it way better when he did more solo. Other than that season 5 was godly as hell
I miss OP Arrow.
Teams are also an easy way of maintaining a relevant supporting cast.

to be honest I loved felicity from season 1-3 but after that I felt that the character fell kind of flat but I still have a soft spot for her.

laurel made a wonderful black canary once she became well trained, and the wirghters are a bunch of dumbasses for not just killing her off but for having Oliver fall for felicity. how to make arrow great again bring back laurel as black canary and have Oliver fall for laurel instead of of Felicity!

They could've had her go full antagonist for a while to make things more tragic. Then when she gets blown up on the island there could be some confusion from Oliver when he is sad about it even though she was against him, like Thea was with Malcolm but no, she'll probably come back in S6 and Olicity will fuck the show up for a while and the cycle will begin all over again.

you hit the nail on the head with felicity. many fans dont have the patience to see a charatcer go 360. They think oh this persons been like this for a while...so that's it...it's always going to be that way and I hate it. But they fail to see or understand that characters have to go through change and development. Sometimes in ways you wont like. you have to dangle them off a cliff before hoisting them right back up. Nonetheless will be interesting to see how they handle that S6

Prometheus is a Villain Sue. His whole Lian Yu plan comes right after he was supposed to be defeated, not to mention mining an entire island like that is not feasible with what we know about the means at his disposal(time, money, people..) every one is looking at season 5 as though it were the best thing the CW made happen, and Im just sitting around, thinking its an overrated but decent season
It's okay. I don't think it's amazing either. I prefer Seasons 1 and 2.

It turned out good, but when you start a season off with characters and villians no one ever cared about. Yeah it got good in the end, but how many people stayed after that horrid first half? The only reason I stayed was to give it one full reason before I quit the show, and I almost quit many MANY times this year. But the last half and Adrian Chase made me give them another chance. I just wish they didn't kill Chase off, send him to Iron Heights. Let him be this shows Joker in Arkham, since this show loves being Batman. They should've kept Chase around

I never hated and still don't actually hate Felicity or EBR who's just doing her job. What I hate is the actions of her fans and how they demean everyone else to prop her up and what else I hate is that she has devolved to a Mary Sue who is never wrong and gets away with everything. That's what I actually hate. Same thing with Olicity and how it's become toxic for both characters, especially Oliver. The Helix story really ruined the character for me so now I'm left rooting for Dinah to get a more prominent role than her and see her dynamics with Diggle and Oliver grow into a new trio of the team though idk if the writers have the balls to do this lol probably not.

Oh, good LOL I didn't know if anyone but me even liked Dinah but after a few episodes she really grew on me and I have to say her dynamics with Digg and Oliver are very refreshing because it's like she's one of the boys but still her own woman.

I just finished watching season 6 and I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
That was the season that made me stop watching Arrow. I couldn't take his kid anymore. His nerfing. That horrible horrible "villain" who couldn't stop mumbling and the really inane conflicts between Arrow and the team. Even Diggle got into a screaming match with Arrow like two little schoolboys. It's like everything came together to get me to literally hate the season.
@@Godzillarex Well, I think the first seven episodes of Season 7 are definitely worth watching, because Oliver's prison storyline is just incredible, and while the rest of the season did not reach those heights, Season 8 was in my opinion really awesome and I think you would not be disappointed.

Wait a minute... Wasn't Felicity only helping Oliver because she wanted to save Walter? Like you said, Oliver is better on his own. He technically doesn't need her.
Seriously? If anything that episode and the cringeworthy exchange with Samantha just further cemented her as a Mary Sue and showed how much of a teacher pet the character is.

Well the Samantha thing was overkill, but the writers clearly know something is up with her character for them to dedicate an entire random "trapped in the bunker with convenient flashbacks" episode to her and Oliver. Live or die that damn awkwardness when they are together that we all are so uncomfortable with is gone. They are patching things up and trying to redeem her character. I don't think it was her as a Mary Sue. Her mistake of trusting Helix got them in there, and she also wasn't able to get them out. That was because of the rest of the team and Arrow's strength. Mary Sue would've been Helix didn't explode the Bunker and she does everything to get them out, and Arrow is being carried on her back. See Star Wars 7 for a wonderful example of Mary Sue-ing haha.
adrian chase/Prometheus was the smartest villain for oliver
Arrow season 5 in my opinion is beyond overrated. The only thing I really liked was the action, but besides that was a whole lot of meh for me. I just don't care about any of the characters anymore. Oliver's entire character is basically just bad things happen to him and he feels guilty about it, five seasons in, this has gotten old. And Prometheus doesn't make any sense,his father was a piece of shit yet he wants to avenge his death? He was married which means he was living a normal life, what set him off to put together this elaborate scheme to ruin Oliver's life? And how does he know what he knows, this show isn't subtle enough to dabble in ambiguity. All this season did was rehash old ideas in uninteresting ways and all the new stuff wasn't great either, it's The Force Awakens of superhero tv seasons,in my opinion, which many people will disagree with.
Well argued point! The stuff with Prometheus was engaging, but you're right, his descent into madness wasn't really explained all that much.

The reason I don't think he is dead is we never saw him actually die. When it comes to comic book properties especially superheroes, I never believe that people are dead unless I see them actually die or the body. Neither of which we saw. You know the CW will not have this show end until maybe season 10. who knows what could happen until then.

The metronome sound they gave Prometheus's theme was annoying until they played it just by itself when Adrian gets in the helicopter. Okay, the whole theme was annoying. The ringing of whatever string instrument with the metronome was just annoying, not unsettling in the slightest.

He will definitely get a fight scene breakdown! Fighting style wouldn't merit the time I would have to spend on it, nobody (aside from the martial arts community) knows who he is.
The first nine episodes, the two vigilante and gun violence episodes, and the last three episodes were good. The rest was pointless and only proves that like all the other super shows, to many episodes hurts the series. One or two filler stories is fine, not telling a story in nine episodes when two can do the job. The long story arcs take away the tension. Tension is what make the story.
Been watching NCIS: LA and I feel like they basically ripped off Eric Beale, a socially awkward, fast talking tech\hacker geek who is the eyes and ears for the team. He's even blonde and has glasses lol She's not even that original.
