Top level skills. Shadow boxing brings out someone's talent in their boxing ability. 🥊👏👊👍
how to get that ko power to knock out any heavyweight boxer ?
Since the beginning of this "lockdown" here in Switzerland, I've been shadowboxing for a few minutes every day (at least 3m). Right now I'm at 481 minutes total.
I totally agree with you, *high volume is the key* and I noticed a big increase in my punching technique, my speed AND my footwork. Overall I feel more "confident" in my striking.
But I think the biggest benefit of doing it everyday is that I started enjoying shadowboxing more. It's really fun, almost like dancing. I can't wait to spar again to see how/if my improvements will make a difference.
As always, thanks for this really interesting/informative video !
Exactly, it looks easy but it is hard drill to get fast punches with good technique. You have to find the key, how to explode from foot - hips in to the fast punch, but you can not overrotate because you lost speed, between punches. I love to train fast punches with pushups. I do this workout, but i do it like this :
fast combine punches fast and hard 2 straight left and 2 straight right(50 punches) then - 10 pushups i do that 12 times, i try to do it with slow breaks. I always try to have my arms up like in sparring - so my shoulders were burning!(but that is exactly what i want).
It is realy a great training for your whole body - if your punches are with good technique. I also eat protein after every the training. :)
I dont know why but my, back and shoulders and trapezoid muscle are much bigger, i can see that my muscles are different from muscles that have bodybuilders. I dont know if it is possible to have different looking muscles doing boxing, but maybe i am wrong.
Now after 2 months of hometraining i can not wait untill i can hit heavy bag in our box club or in some gym. I will be like a bull torn from the chain!
Soon in our country will be gyms open i hope.
I wish everyone good healt.
Defeat corona together!
In some time ago i write you one also big message in some of your video i was thanking you so much - how, you help me to get back in to my life. Therebefore like 4 years a go i was fat 123 kg man. You help me to get my motivation back. Then i join our box club. Thank you. When i start before 4 years i can not do 3 - 4 pushups... :DD
Good effort
Good job.
@@TiGER-BOXiNG you made my balls shrink 3 sizes I'd like to overcome that lol
Und wie isch gsi im sparring?
Thanks for all your advice, drills and workouts. You do them as well leading by example and that helps immensely. 🥊🥊
Great advice. Some of this can be overwhelming to a novice such as myself. You’re breaking it down into terms I can understand. Much appreciated, stay well.
Dig your dedication to the sport and craft of boxing 🥊
Something that has helped me with technique part for handspeed is visualizing my punches as whipping them. Still you need cardio to keep it up which comes with training.
💯
That's ingenious. Using mind power
U mean like Luffy from One Piece??
Good idea just don’t forget that it takes conditioning to really whip that arm out and back. If not you’ll injure your joints
love the new format!
If this man is in your corner u win without fighting.
Your app made me really enjoy doing solo work every day, while teaching new patterns. Keep it up!
Great video coach, high quality! thanks for this
This new format of presentation is interesting and fun to watch. And as always your film is incredibly informative.

That last tip was key for me. Thanks!
Amazing!! Thank you!
I really liked this new style of video JT , much love bro 🥊
Hey JT, been a watcher of your content since my first amateur boxing match back in 2017. Love the new format; its fresh, dynamic and still gets information across in a detailed way. Keep up the awesomd content!
Thank you!
Recently I started throwing a tennis ball in each hand again the wall and catching them. Nearly impossible to do it smoothly with both hands at the beginning but after a few months Its surprising how fast and smooth I can do it now. Will be interesting to see what this translates into. Thanks for the vids coach!!
3:40 YOU SHOULD BE SHOWING US HOW TO DO A CRANE KICK WITH A BACKDROP LIKE THAT!

i really like the new vlog ish tutorial mix video style.
He really hit the spot when it comes to Muay Thai. Now I know why my kicks and punches have such a speed discrepancy
Without a doubt the most dedicated most informed most knowledgeable boxing coach ever.. Respect.. Greetings from vienna
I appreciate that!
The hand speed was the best qualities that i have in mma , after i focused on my grappling , my handspeed started to slow down.. now its quarantine time , i will pick it back up!
Fast feet equals fast hands 👑🐐💯
not really
Eres el mejor instructor de boxing de toda la red
Damn dude, I live very close to that building you were at. What a surprise...I've been following your channel for a while and didn't even realize you were in my neck of the woods!
Speed kills!
Hey Bro thank you for the technics and all your Informationsmaterial about boxing. I m a big boxing fan. My Rolemodel is Mike Tyson and Of Course Muhammad Ali , Sucar Ray Leonard,Robinson and more. Thank you man. Keep doing this videos . I love to see them.😅👍🍃
Far rock in the building . Love your content .
QUEENS!
Great video, I really wish I could to the gym and train right now after seeing a video like this. Hitting the bag and the double end ball at home is okay but it’s not the same as hitting the pads and training with partners and sparring and such
I agree with tecnical view. Even as a S&C coach for fighters I emphaise tecnical/ sport sessions are the most important. I want to give them the physical tools to allow them to perform their sport to the best of their ability
Great vid! Another idea: shadow boxing in the pool helped A LOT with my hand speed.
Thanks. Good one ☝🏼! Exactly what my boxing 🥊 Coach has been trying to communicate to me. Working on it.
Are those weighted gloves? What’s the brand? Any link to them?
Love it
u're the best
Btw, following you from Marseille, France.
Nice
That video really helped. Thank you.
I wanted to make sure I precisely know what you mean by "efficiency" in terms of hand speed? I'm new to the game. I apologize if I'm asking something everyone knows.
yeah, hands go fast!!!😎😎
Is it okay if I do the Shadowboxing, heavy bag and drills in the same day as strength training (with several hours between) or should I do them on different days? Thank you for continuing to produce such great content. Your love for the craft shows.
Hey JT what about drills like punching with hand weights // rubber band? And some physical exercises like pushups or some fitness equipment that you can use to emulate punches like barbell, medicine ball?
Do a video about boxning for MMA
I like what you're saying in this video. A good comparison is like....how does a sprinter get faster? By working on running technique and actually running sprints. Of course there's strength and conditioning exercises to mix in which helps but ultimately I think it really does come down to throwing punches with the intent of focusing on hand speed in training. (on a side note, I own the 9 inch version of that Rival water bag you used at the end....and I bought it after watching a review video you did for that bag a few years back)
EricMichaelSC you're right on the money. Yes I love that bag
Finally, someone with critical thinking skills.
Since 1977 e continuo ad allenarmi !!
Hey jason please do a video on boxing specifically for mma....thanks
Pawan Laishram I will, it's long overdue
Great video. What's the name or type of bag you're working with at the end? I'd like to try and purchase one
Nice shoe shine buddy.
JT, when you gonna start vlogging my man. I'd watch it!
This is a great video, thankyou 👍would you recommend using a resistance band to increase speed aswell?
Yeah, use it
You must live in the north dressed like that! 😀 Sometimes when shadow boxing I like to switch between punching fast to slow motion to fast to normal etc etc. I use elastic bands sometimes but varying the speed just feels better to me. :)
You’ve really inspired me to start boxing ever since I stumbled on your channel during this lockdown. I’ve been working your three days a week beginner program on Dropbox and have watched your videos, what other resources do you have available that I can use to improve my punching technique?
Jacob F check out all the instructionals on my website
Wussup og great channel
😮😮 nice
hey, nice ride!
Man I love your videos I just started boxing lessons and they are hard...hey question how can I bring up my cardio omg those 3 min drills rock me I get winded so fast...thx
Running intervals is one of the best ways

Greetings from Turkey🇹🇷
Nice work, Jason. I am wondering if it is possible to go out during this time? Is there a lockdown in place?
COC Chicken Team Vietnam in Toronto you can go out
what kind of gloves do you have on here? looks cool
Do you think that doing your fast hand speed workout everyday once or twice as fast as I can will get me fast hands ?
Damn I’m early as hell
Thats timest
عمل رائع 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What is the first move in de video called ? The fast uppercuts ? I want to learn them
Precision striking i have question about what is most important too work on if your heavyweight because i struggle with defense like head movement and footwork.I also notice that i am flat footed and i don't engage too much and i counter people most of the time but eventually i get caught in the end since i am flat footed.
Hi how can you get fast hands if you have arthritic hips as I am on the list for a new hip thanks .
What sports sneakers are you using for shadow boxing?
I notice a lot of boxers have fast hands but they don’t retain there hand speed between rounds besides at a really high level. And handspeed is more genetics than it is training sadly. Not that training doesn’t help but everybody isn’t going to be that fast. Just like everybody isn’t going to be the hardest hitters. Endurance and ring iq are better than handspeed in my opinion. Also I only feel like I’ve gotten faster from training shadow boxing and learning how to breath and be relaxed. Adding flexibility helped me out a lot as well. And love this style of video man been watching your stuff since I first started. You and Coach Anthony are two of the best on UA-cam
That why precision beat power and timing beat speed. You can have the fastest hands in the world. But what if your opponent is moving? That why footwork and timing your punch is more important than having faster punching, since it more realistic.
How many times do you train a day, and how do you keep your form without a coach?
🥊❤
