Thanks! I needed this. New Tesla owner in about 2 weeks.
Glad it helped! Love my Tesla especially the almost no maintenance, enjoy and stay in touch
Thank you for going slow and clear!!! Every video i watches was super confusing!
Thank you
Why’s am I watching this. I ain’t got no Tesla
Well thanks for watching and maybe one day you will
Same but I have looked up prices just need to see how I can keep it changed while living at an apartment that doesn’t have charging stations
Cost me $2100 to install the 240v outlet. They had to run pipe and wiring down to my garage from the 2nd level of my house where the panel is. This included fixing bunch of drywall that had to be cut open. It was worth it. Level 1 charging was just painfully slow.
Definitely save some money on charging , good luck
2100? Tho. Plus the price of the Tesla. It's gonna be a long time
Yikes! Fortunately my 200amp panel was on my garage wall, having a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed cost me $250.
Thanks appreciate the info, we just bought a model 3 and are waiting for delivery.
Congrats and thanks for watching our video 👍🏼
Thank you for the informative video. I am waiting on model y and placed this mobile connector. I am planning to get nema 1450 (hubbels adaptor) installed in my garage.
That’s awesome. I wish you the best of luck with your new vehicle.
Well done, thank you.
Thank you as well
Excellent pacing and VERY informative for us newbies 👏🏾!
Thank you
great overview. thank you. and hi pup!
Thank you
First thing I bought too, mainly because I’m still waiting on my registration documents and it can’t leave my property yet :(
Good luck 👍🏼
Super helpful, thanks for the video. I was going to get the wall connector but I think this is a better option for home and when traveling.
Good quality I must say and ready for level 2 with the additional adapter which is great, $230 is worth it. Thanks for watching.
Great video, and beautiful doggo.
Thank you, she’s in heaven now after almost a year we have a new pup, you have a pet ?
When you get the Tesla. Where is the j1117 adapter located? I might have a friend take delivery so need to tell them where to look. Thanks. Your car made in Fremont?
Mine was tossed in a plastic clear bag in the rear "trunk" cover. Btw, there is more than one compartment.
It will be in the trunk or the frunk, California 👍🏼
@@kbmblizz1940 you have a model 3? What year?
Thanks brother
Thank you
Very informative first video! Wishing you great success with this channel.
The versatility with the UMC is important. I debated purchasing only a Juicebox, but I haven’t got an electrician to install a 240v yet. Until then, I’ll be level 1 charging my new Tesla. Btw. What state do you drive in? New Jersey ?
NJ , thanks for watching and the well wishes I appreciate that
@@mytezlajourney1 As NJ residents, after ordering a Tesla online, would you know when we fill out state paperwork for the $4000 clean energy credit?
Also would you be able to provide insight as to how/when the license plates and registration are handled by Tesla?
@@arjunc2266 did you order a Tesla or are you thinking about ordering one?

@@arjunc2266 once you go through all the steps on the Tesla app, it’ll ask you if you’re transferring plates or not so they can actually get plates for you.
As far as the credit, you’re just gonna want to keep the receipt and the note from the website on the credit, save it somehow and when you do your taxes next year, you need to give that to your tax person
Super nice information. Exactly what I am looking for!!!
Thank you
I have a Model y lr coming in early March ( I hope). I will need the charging cable and adapters, do you think I should order them now? How much was shipping? We are in the Tampa area. Great video - just what we ev newbies need, good luck.
Hi!! Congratulations it’s very exciting
Definitely order the mobile connector, what’s really nice about it is it does come with all the plugs for slow charging (home outlet) and if you get a 240 V outlet installed you can use the same mobile connector you don’t have to install an EV charger right now. Be careful it does go out of stock at times, it took a week to arrive 👍🏼
Order now for sure. Note that I also bought the wall connector and our local electric company reimbursed me.
Thanks for the info, I will get it ordered. I will be able to get supplies for the 240 outlet locally or online and will need to do it again in Michigan when we return in May.
@@lesterdroneson4373 👍🏼 don’t forget the mobile connector comes with a normal home outlet plus a NEMA 14-50 adapter so you can connect to a 14-50 240v outlet at Home etc.
Your buying a model Y and your worrying about shipping costs?? 😂
I just got a used tesla and pretty much got screwed by the charging setup. got a wall connecter that gives 3-5 mph.
Waiting for the better plug in to come through the mail tomorrow that will allow me to plug in to my laundry outlet. In the mean time I tried to go to an EVgo charger, said it was compatible with Tesla. the charger looked the exact same as the wall connecter so i plugged it into my car following the apps instructions for EV go and it didnt work. I called their support and they said no error on their end it just didn't show anything plugged in. Very frustrated. You should be able to use Tesla Supercharger with the app before the car is registered as yours in the app. that is really dumb.
I can understand the frustrations. Honestly I just installed a level two charger and that makes life a whole lot easier because you really can add like 30 to 40 miles an hour with a level two charger. As far as on the road I’ve used tesla super chargers but I don’t want to use them too much, I don’t want to fast charge too much.
I just ordered a model 3 tesla thank you for you video i’m new to ev’s May be I didn’t understand but let me ask you Which connector is better to use in order to extend the battery life and what charging settings should I use thanks again
From what I’ve learned so far the mobile connector is a great accessory because you can slow charge your car and if you have a 240 V outlet installed you can fast charge it that’s considered level two. It all depends on your needs. Keep in mind when you slow charge you’re only gonna get 30 miles maybe 40 miles a day overnight. Don’t go under 20% and over 90% normally. If you’re taking a long trip, you can charge it to 100% every once in a while but you don’t wanna do that every day. It also depends on what vehicle you have because there are different battery types.
@@mytezlajourney1 I really appreciate your advise since this will be my first Tesla I have to ask question In order to do the right thing
How can I know the kind of battery that is on an specific car?
Thanks again
@@IvanRamirez-fs3sfrear wheel drive from what I hear has lithium iron phosphate batteries.
@@mytezlajourney1 we will use the car most likely for around town and rarely a four hour trips one way
do you think that I can use a mobile charger with a 240 V could be enough or should I get an electrician to install a wall connector?
@@IvanRamirez-fs3sf no need to spend the money first get the mobile connector use it and if it works great and if you need a faster charge don’t forget you can still use the mobile connector then you can have your electrician install that special outlet. Also, don’t forget while you’re waiting for your outlet to be installed. There are plenty of superchargers and other chargers that you can drive to if you need to charge your car faster.
In Europe you get this included with the car. Got my new Model Y last month.
That used to be the case in the states no, you have to buy it
I need to extend my home charger cable length. I have the mobile connector is there an adaptor so it can be used as an extension to the home charger?
Hi the only one I’ve seen is this one but it’s pretty expensive
amzn.to/3Ie4yyh
Thanks for detailed explanation on everything 👍 ❤
Thank you
Yea Ibwould like to get one but how I am going to charge it if I live in a condo
If you live in a condo, your best bet is finding the closest Tesla supercharger. I recommend no other way to charge. It’s the best here’s a link to the website where you can actually find a Tesla supercharger. Just deselect all items in the search except super chargers

Awesome info video. Thx 🎉
Glad it was helpful! Thank you
Great video, thanks for the info, very helpful 😊
Thank you! I have to tell you I don’t think anyone needs anything else. This is a great charger. All you Gotta do is get an outlet installed in your garage and you can use this for every day charging and you can bring it with you which I love.
What is the percentage of charge though this mobile connected get by 8-10 hours?
10 hours about 30 miles
It’s about 3 miles per hour
If you connect it to a 220v outlet about 300 miles, that’s around 30 miles of charger per hour.
Thats weird I didnt get the Nema 14-50 in my mobile connector set
Did you just buy it?
@@mytezlajourney1 Yes its a 2023 Model 3 SR+
Doesn’t come with the car. You have to order it for 250$. Comes with 2 options. 12v and 14/50
what do i need to level 2 charge with the 14-15 adapter?
Hi Dylan
You would need to get the outlet installed by a electrician NEMA 14-50 outlet
@@mytezlajourney1 thanks mate, cheers
@@mytezlajourney1hello, I live in a rental and it has a dryer outlet in the garage and I am wondering if I’d be able to plug this in and get the 30 mile / hr charging. The electric panel is clearly new and definitely a 200amp. I don’t know much about it
I don’t really know I never used one of those outlets so I’m not sure that the plug would fit that you might want to take a picture of it and then compare it. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
I’m here from your other channel. Tech Made Easy. I subbed
Awesome thank you!
@@mytezlajourney1 I just can’t understand how you can have all that valuable technology and not have a level 2 plug installed by an electrician for a couple hundred bucks?
I just got the vehicle 😎
Can I use my regular outlet
Yes by using the small normal house outlet plug that's shown in the video you'll get about three to four miles of range per hour
Why mine is not working when plug to the wall
Hi, thanks for watching the video
It could be that you’re using an old outlet or either the cable is not pushed all the way into the adapter or you have a bad charger and you might need to exchange it
I'm new, great video.

Seems like it takes more energy to set up then it charges the car 😂❤.
I did everything slowly for the video, but to be honest this is a real easy product to use. I keep it in my frunk and have already used it once or twice in cases where I was running low
