Your third skill could be the one that swaps your weapons for you, but you can menu to do that, so just pick whatever you feel like for skills 3 and 4. I like taking masterful kill from thief as a way to dodge (and counter) most attacks. All you have to do is slap the mine on the boss, their weakspot if you can, then rip into it with skull splitter until it explodes. The thing with Formless Feint is that if you don't realize that Blades of Pyre is a mock-up Maister Skill and that you were being played for a fool by the villagers, you would never get Formless Feint. Dragon's Dogma is very much a game you want to break. If any update/expansion to DD2 is made similarly to DD1's Dark Arisen, you'll want to be as broken as possible. Bitterblack Isle philosophy was very much "your bullshit vs their bullshit". it is legit made almost like a Spiff Certified Exploit Sandbox and besides potential tweaks, I don't think we'll see major nerfs at all because Itsuno is a madman and would rather the player have their own fun.
..with formless feint and mirror shield not being nerfed in the next expansion i dont think even a bitterblack isle level of difficulty would be a challenge. but hey, even if they dont nerf it i dont think its fun to use it anyway.

Anyone else miss when spiff actually BROKE and GLITCHED games? This is admittedly kinda cool but honestly low tier. Its basically a showcase of game knowledge more than anything. The only thing in this video that could possibly be not intended gameplay is the blades of the pyre not hurting if you have formless feint active. The game outright tells you that you can get more money selling things in other regions and the "exp exploit" is basically just more efficient grinding techniques.
Blades of the pyre is supposed to be used alongside formless faint, theres a reason the thieves give you those 2 skills, one of them even says that blades of the pyre are missing something, that "something" is formless faint.
Blades of the pyre are an incomplete ability that are not meant to be used by themselves. In fact, the false arisen got his scar from misusing the ability. Misuse meaning not combining it with formless feint.
Mr. Spiffing Brit, I am pleased to inform you that for the low low price of 1 skill (and some loss in stats) slot you can in fact combine your glorious Damage per second with your excellent exp gains by unlocking the warfarer class. It's master skill (unlocked upon class gain) allows you to swap between weapons and equip any armor set. The only drawback is you effectively only have 3 skill slots with every skill you know to choose from and that in order to use said skills you must have the corresponding class weapon equipped. Have fun with this information. Thank you for this gem of a video. Have a good day Trace Oran
Just climb on medusa's head and stab it as Theif..... head cuts off one bar into her health and she's dead. You're making it tougher than it needs to be.
I think you missed the part where he was around lvl 20 when he stole the bow and thus would have done almost no damage to her regardless of where he was hitting her.
I’ll do you one better. Warfarer. Use MA sleep arrow (might need multiple shots). Then use one fully charged and timely released Indomitable Lash at her neck. It’s how I got my first preserved head
The issue with the infinite money exploit is the amount of loading you have to do. The main exploity part is the instant teleport, you wouldn't be able to get from Melve to BakBattahl before the fruit rotted so you teleport to make up the difference. You need Ferrystones to do this which cost 8,000-10,000 gold each time you buy one, and every merchant only sells one so you have to wait for the store to restock before you can buy it again. SO, in order to do this you need enough ferrystones to begin with (2 is the bare minimum which is already 20k gold), two portcrystals which can take about 30 to an hour to get if you know where to go, and time. So you buy the ferrystones and apples, wait in the chair the opposite side of the store for them to ripen (takes 4-5 sit downs and you have to wait a second for the game to load the time change each time) buy a new set of fresh apples which should have restocked by now, buy those, store the ripe apples, and repeat for about 1-2 hours. The stores don't have a lot of apples to sell at once. You do this to get 400 ripe apples and then teleport to BakBattahl. Luckily one of the inns lets you take items from your storage so the sell part of the process is significantly faster, BUT you still have to take as much of the fruit as you can carry, go to the shop, sell them, go back because there's a storage limit (this part may not be true I did not personally collect a 400 apples like Spiff did), and repeat that sprint back and force for another 5 minutes. This is an exploit for sure but the time it really takes to get going you could've gotten 120k just questing and playing, so definitely a NG+ kind of thing and probably more fun (as a person who likes DD2, this is debatable) to just play the game normal.
Someone gifted my pawn the medusan spellbow, no clue why but I was definitely thankful. At first I thought maybe they just didn't notice, but I later realized that when you try to give gear to someone else's pawn, a message pops up alerting you that once gifted you can't get it back.
Dragons Dogma is an isekai simulator so it makes sense there’s so many ways to cheese things. The first thing I did at like level 12 was sneak into a carriage to cross a border and unlock the Warfarer vocation that can use any skill/weapon/armor thanks to forged fruit wines. The perfect game for cheesing.
This is very funny to me. As i beat this game in 60 hours, none of this is necessary and i love you for it Spiff. You genuiniely need 100s of thousands of gold
If you can gain the exp bonus from your companions using the bow, then it would be extra broken by having multiple companions wield the bow, firing from a distance while you keep dodging the enemies attacks that are aggroed on you before letting your ally archer get the final hit.
Hey Spiff. Regarding the apples and grapes exploit, buying in one location, tavelling, and then selling in another location for a profit, think that is called trade
I've been playing this game for a little bit. I turned it into "border crossing simulator." I start in Melve, load my pawns and myself up with apples and grapes, and walk to Bakbattahl. By the time I get there the food is ready to sell. After selling it I dismiss the pawns to their "new life." Once I figure out how to reliably get dragonsplague, the game will evolve into plague Inc. ^-^ love your content sir!
[PS5] Utilizing cloud save feature allows sending pawns 10+ eternal bond rings in under 10 minutes, reloading your cloud save to keep your items. Eternal Bond rings sell for 40,000 gold each. Around 400k every 10 minutes sending your friends’ pawns these rings.

Can't convince me this guy's never had a wall street job LOL. He has the skillset for sure.
I was expecting something unique coming from you Spiff!, but this just looks like a normal DD2 run!
It was one of the rare videos where the title wasn't hyperbole XD
He just plays it with the intended game balance and no exploits. A great video though. Very entertaining.
For the infinite xp (Exploit), if u have the medusa bow equipped while on the melve balista u can shoot a griffin and gain 32k xp every 3 days. The griffin sits near an campsite. For the weakpoint u need to shoot its wing.
It’s your vids that make me wanna play games outside of my normal set.
When Spiff said "Wait. Your Turn" to the bird, I imagine what if he voiced Gendalf. It would have been hilarious and fabulous at the same time
I love to watch spiff destroy every single game he touches while getting ready to sleep. My favourite time of the day.
God Howard is everywhere, watching, waiting, even in Dragon's Dogma lol
Spiff's vision of Todd might be a bit biased
Yeah todd is like a foot taller and jacked like the hulk..
"Game of attrition" Spiff has discovered tank gameplay as a rogue, what a perfectly balanced game.
You're onto something with the adjusted editing style but this may have been slightly too choppy in places
Thanks for the feedback it means a lot
@@thespiffingbrit I cant speak to what adjustments you may need to make, but I really enjoyed the editing in this episode! if you can find ways to improve thats only icing on the cake
I really liked the editing. That jazz montage was next level.
I'm just glad there's a game out there for a sneaky magic thief archer.
I had some xp with Motion Capture and love DD2's seriously fluid, accurate animations and movement and fight choreography - it finally did the cinematic style of the narrative justice. Kudos to the devs. Ps. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
10 seconds in.
Imagine a game so good, that when you hear something silly like : This is the first game where you can throw a pig at another pig.
You think : I'm pretty I've done that in Baldurs Gate 3...
(Update)…it probably will never be getting patched
Hey, Spiff! Just thought you should know that over here in the US, today is National Tea Day.
(Sunday, April 21st, 2024)
"She's been sneaking for the longest of times" -> Must be a Skyrim player
Remember your UA-cam short that broke UA-cam by being a second long? I watched that 20,000 times
Medusa used an archer with soporific arrow, put her to sleep and the your theif or fighter should behead her with one hit, getting the preserved medusa head.
You can double up on the money-making scheme, too. Battahl has figs and quince(quinces?) that sell for extra up in Vermund, so you can pick those up while in Bakbattahl, ripen them, then sell them while you're restocking your apple and grape stock while back in Vermund. No wasted trips!
Great video, but it feels distractingly overedited in my opinion, i liked how the editing was back in the ck2 era of spiff, much more chill
Can't agree more, it constantly felt like something was off with this video and that's exactly it. It feels sort of fake this way.
@@localbrew we had some challenges piecing this one together into an overarching narrative. Apologies that it comes off slightly odd in the edit. Will do my best to improve
@@thespiffingbrit Editing was marvellous, Spiff. You do you, Sir.
Formless Blades of the Pyre combo is basically my entire identity in this game
Anyone else miss when spiff actually BROKE and GLITCHED games? This is admittedly kinda cool but honestly low tier. Its basically a showcase of game knowledge more than anything. The only thing in this video that could possibly be not intended gameplay is the blades of the pyre not hurting if you have formless feint active. The game outright tells you that you can get more money selling things in other regions and the "exp exploit" is basically just more efficient grinding techniques.
ye I hoped to see some cazy glitch but it was just regular levelling and regular damage
Blades of the pyre is supposed to be used alongside formless faint, theres a reason the thieves give you those 2 skills, one of them even says that blades of the pyre are missing something, that "something" is formless faint.
Yeah. And the gold "exploit" is just grinding the normal economy in a way it even tells you to
Blades of the pyre are an incomplete ability that are not meant to be used by themselves. In fact, the false arisen got his scar from misusing the ability. Misuse meaning not combining it with formless feint.
"This is the first game I've played where you can throw a pig at another pig" Spiff, are you sure there isn't a Skyrim mod for that?
Exactly. The mod let’s you not the game.
All this still works as of January 23rd 2025
Mr. Spiffing Brit,
I am pleased to inform you that for the low low price of 1 skill (and some loss in stats) slot you can in fact combine your glorious Damage per second with your excellent exp gains by unlocking the warfarer class.
Have a good day
Trace Oran
Just climb on medusa's head and stab it as Theif..... head cuts off one bar into her health and she's dead. You're making it tougher than it needs to be.
I think you missed the part where he was around lvl 20 when he stole the bow and thus would have done almost no damage to her regardless of where he was hitting her.
@@PlusOne2Crit Thats the easiest time to get the head. You want to do as little damage as possible, head comes off easily, instant death. Look it up.
This video needs more tea :(
I love when a game is balanced
Gamers finding out what commerce is and calling it an exploit
Someone gifted my pawn the medusan spellbow, no clue why but I was definitely thankful. At first I thought maybe they just didn't notice, but I later realized that when you try to give gear to someone else's pawn, a message pops up alerting you that once gifted you can't get it back.
0:03 Ummm....Wind waker?
Exactly
She's so sneaky that no one believed she existed for 969 years.
Now go back to the first one and break it.
Especially considering all the broken ways to get op super fast
Dragons Dogma is an isekai simulator so it makes sense there’s so many ways to cheese things. The first thing I did at like level 12 was sneak into a carriage to cross a border and unlock the Warfarer vocation that can use any skill/weapon/armor thanks to forged fruit wines. The perfect game for cheesing.
Spiff invents capitalism and calls it breaking the game lol
Just like real life!
Lol the commentary on this had me laughing hard. Awesome stuff dude, will definitely try your tips. Thanks!
This is very funny to me. As i beat this game in 60 hours, none of this is necessary and i love you for it Spiff. You genuiniely need 100s of thousands of gold
Exploit? Exploit? This is just being a merchant with magic crystals!
Truly the best roleplay experience
"Do you want your chest in defense mode or attack mode" is the most underrated line in history
I love that Strider was so OP it got split into two classes for the second game, and one of it's splintered halves manages to be arguably just as OP.
Had you made the true hero Reanu Keeves, the game would have simply skipped to the end credits
If you can gain the exp bonus from your companions using the bow, then it would be extra broken by having multiple companions wield the bow, firing from a distance while you keep dodging the enemies attacks that are aggroed on you before letting your ally archer get the final hit.
FYI you’ll level up all vocations if you use the bow as a Warfarer
I think this might be the first spiff video I've seen in which I already knew all these ways to cheese the game.
What I did to break the game was basically finish the first area and then explored the whole map before any major changes occurred
The Spiffing Brit sees character editor and turns Dark Souls mode on. Magnificent!
Tod Howard packin a whole bakery back there!
I was waiting for this!!! Also going to Scotland in September so looking forward to having the best tea!
Fun fact I've died zero times in 160 hours but this brit is hilarious.
remembering the bosses of the dlc for the first part of dogma i think that it's actually not that easy to become overpovered, since the dudes in dlc and post game dragon was just hillariously strong
The infinite money method is nice. But honestly I don’t buy much gear anyway
