@@brendanmemmott1597 Maybe it's more of a comment on how every previous iteration of Spider-Man seemed to have something against him having growth. I mean the dude married a goddamn SUPER MODEL, for Christ's sake... he doesn't need to remain super awkward forever... (hint hint Disney)...

Superhero films are too obsessed with the Joseph Campbell hero origin story! It's so overdone! Let these bastards age, eat pizza in the shower, and stop with the "chosen one" bs.
The thing that I'll never forget about the first movie is that the guy was ready to die/sacrifice himself to save Miles's universe just like that. It's like he was so depressed about his life and MJ that he just gave up on everything, but then saw a little light with Miles and so decided to sacrifice everything to save him and everybody.
This is why Peter is the hero and always will be. He'd do anything for others when it really comes down to it. Not to mention that scene is loaded with subtext. He sees Miles as his figurative son in that moment and therein he wanted to protect his son by sacrificing his own life. A great parental allegory!
The scene where Peter shuts down the “Great Power/Great Responsibility” mantra breaks my heart. Back when I saw that in the theaters, people around me laughed. But that line just made me so sad. He’s been at it for so long and Johnson’s performance makes Peter sound so tired and frustrated. It’s one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie
and of course there's the heartwrenching follow-up of him seeing the woman who raised him, who in his universe died and was buried by him ; see him for the first time and what did she say first? "you look tired" to which he replies "yeah... I am tired..." every time without fail that exchange gets me misty-eyed.
@@finnvost9349 JESUS, I'm misty-eyes now just remembering it. That was some heavy stuff. I feel like the best thing these Multiverse stories do is create a clear metaphor for the ways everyone's lives parallel, the way we're all having the same experiences, and in a hippy-dippy sense, we're all the same. In that moment, Peter B and this world's Aunt May are strangers, having never met. But she can clearly see the Peter she lost in him, and he can see the Aunt May he lost in her. That doesn't make them the same people to one another, that's not the point. The point is that his experience intimately connects him to hers. Not only can they see their own loved ones in one another, they can also clearly see themselves and their own suffering in one another. That's empathy, Multiverse-stlye.
“I’ve got good news, we don’t need the monitor” will never fail to make me audibly laugh. Jake crushed it for sure. And honestly, chris pine did a great job as well until his untimely death lol
That whole sequence is SO funny top to bottom. Infiltrating the base, all of Miles' new abilities shenanigans, Pete in sweats and no shoes, The exercise ball. Bagel. I love how in Pete's banter at one point- not even directly quipping AT Doc Ock but more just narrating to himself- he's deflecting her arms with the exercise ball and says, "This is the moment that I'm losing da fight"
What I loved was how Miguel used guilt as a way of manipulation; if Uncle Ben was always supposed to die, no Peter needs to feel guilt about not preventing it. Same with every Spidey-tragedy. If it was meant to happen and would destroy the world if it didn’t happen, then Spider-Man can let go of the guilt surrounding it. Miguel offers them a way out. And really Gwen’s tipping point was when she learned her dad was no longer a cop. Her canon event won’t happen, and if it did, it’s the fault of Miguel offering her a place in the society when she wanted to leave home. Rejecting the idea of canon events means every Spider-Man has to accept that the tragedies that shaped them could have been prevented. Not that I think Miguel is doing this intentionally of course. He needs to absolve himself of guilt as much as any of them. He’s just chosen these canon events as a thing to blame and basically a reason every Spidey should be as miserable as he is.
Yeah, I think he's actually completely delusional. Spot time travels, he's actually making Miguel into a villain by creating 'canon' events then using his powers to collapse everything into a spot in the world where the 'cannon' event didn't happen
I love Jake Johnson''s Peter because it's a jab at Marvel, portraying a Peter if One More Day didn't happen, specially now with them bringing back Mayday and making him an excited father.
@@Deezfugginnutzinyomouf nope i like the current run as well u manbabies need to get over MJ, dan slott had an incredible run as well with peter winning and not depressed and u all still complained.

i think Andrew Garfield had the potential to be the best Spider-Man, its really unfortunate he never have the writing to back it up. Like he stole the show during No Way Home, if by some chance he ever has the opportunity to play the character again I think he could take the cake
Andrew was my favorite live action spiderman for sure. I grew up with the witty smart ass spiderman from the 90's, so I found Andrews take to be absolutely perfect especially in the second movie, but unfortunately pretty much everything else about that movie was trash, although I did like Gwen
Something we have yet to see a Spider-Man movie beat, Spiderverse included, is the fantastic web sequences TASM had, we simply don’t see Peter swinging around making full use of how vertical NY is.
I saw a video about the original vision for TASM 1 and it was genuinely very compelling, the writer/director had a great vision for it but iirc it was bogged down by studio interference.
Honestly if he does get a chance to come back now, it would work so well, with the context of this video plus his dialogue in NWH about getting vengeful and not pulling his punches. Could really show a more mature Spider-Man
Tom Holland does his own stunts and that’s worthy of commendation. The flaws from his Spider-Man don’t come from anything he does it comes from the writing and the insistence that it needs to be connected to everything else in the MCU.
Honestly my only issue with the Spiderverse films is that we finally get a perfect adaptation of Peter Parker on the big screen and he's the side character. I need a full Peter B Parker film by rhese writers.
I love how you mentioned that he portrayed a loser in New Girl but it was by choice after they revealed that he actually passed the bar yet chose to work as a bartender

I always thought Spiderman was... *just fine* but Spiderverse convinced me to actually LOVE Peter Parker. I get it now. Both Jake and Chris Pine really brought him to life.
Read some of his comics if you wanna learn more about him (not the super recent ones cause they cucked him and ruined his life yet again like they always do). I suggest one called spider bite. Very sad story but showcases Peters kindness.
That means so much to me that you not only took time out of your busy day to watch my video, but you also commented something so kind! Your words of encouragement do not go underappreciated dude! MUCH love! (also hell yeah Jake Johnson is the BEST right?)
@@BillyCabinsYT hey can you make a Spider-Man no way home vs into the spider verse video and how they both have great storytelling (even with simple plots) also I think nwh did a better character/storyline for its main character than into the spiderverse did for theirs (Peter b parker did have the beta storyline/arc and he felt like he was the co main character aswell)
I like to think that Peter Parker struggled more in fighting villains but not as much in terms of life, whereas Peter B. Parker seems to have suffered more emotionally than in his duty. Peter B. Parker functions as a far more realistic and human Spider-Man, fully portraying yet another unique take on the hero. It’s cool seeing how each and every alternate version of Spider-Man is different from the one we know and Peter B. Parker is just as special.
Another way Jake Johnson is the perfect Spider Man is that when Covid hit, he put out an offer on twitter to make recordings for kids as Spider-Man to help them feel better and he ABSOLUTELY followed through with it, making personal recordings for hundreds and hundreds of kids. My daughter was over the moon and she still has me pull it up and play it for her occasionally.
But animation as a medium also gives Jake an edge over the live-action spider-men: It makes him EVEN MORE relatable and every-man. Abstractions (like animated cartoons, gifs and memes) have been proven to form stronger emotional impacts and increase empathy in viewers. It's easier to see ourselves in a character when there are fewer realistic details to be pulled out of the fantasy and perspective-taking we do when watching a film. It's why animation is an underrated medium in the West. It's ridiculous that so many adults are still afraid of being perceived as childish for liking it
Spider-Verse Miles is by far my favorite. He's the only movie Spiderman that becomes Spiderman in a universe where Spiderman already exists, meaning he's like us if *we* became Spider-Man. He knows the story in the same way we know the story. That relatability is hard to match.
I keep thinking why I like Peter B., turns out I like him because I kinda relate to him. I’m tired of many things in my life, been at my lowest but I know I can not stop.
I'm sorry to hear that but also incredibly happy that you've found solace (like I have) in the form of such a wonderful role model. We can't stop. Because Spider-Man always gets back up... and just like into the spider-verse says... ANYONE can wear the mask
Great work dude! I was also hyped to see Peter B. Parker in the new sequel and even though he doesn't have much screen time in it. Jake Johnson performance doesn't disappoint.
Andrews is actually my favorite Spider-Man, the subtleties in his performance just make me feel every emotion he’s portraying and he feels so real. Easily (in my opinion at least) the greatest actor to have the role. It really hurts me that his movies weren’t executed well. I still genuinely love the first ASM mainly for his performance alone. He also carried No Way Home and stole the scene every time he was present
@@jordankelly4684 The thing about it it's like the quips were so off like you can see the lizard fight like there's interjections at the most awkward times and sometimes no dialogue at all but it just might be the script. I thought he was the worst spiderman because who seriously whistles the theme song while apprehending somebody
3:22 I love that you describe him this way because one of my favourite lines in the movie was when Miles' peter groaned and said, "I am so tired." It felt like a line you could easily hear from almost any iteration of the character. It embodies his never-ending struggle while being totally in-character. And the fact that this is supposed to be a spidey in his prime makes you think about just how tired Peter B. is
Jake Johnson and Yuri Lowenthal are imo the most comic accurate Peters when it comes to their experiences. Jake has all of his issues and conflicts that he's dealing with, as mentioned in the video. While Yuri deals with city wide problems, he still makes the time of day to help a kid with the loss of his father just because he wants to, a kid that he doesn't even know too. Then he makes the choice to save the world over a mother figure who has supported him for two decades. These two are true goats, I love Tobey and Andrew, but I don't think they are anywhere near the level that Peter B and Insomniac are at.
Jakes voice matches Peter B Parkers personality so much and I find is incredible that he is able to embody so much emotion not only through his physical acting in shows and movies, but to also doing it with just his voice is just amazing. I like Miles because he is an anomaly, he doesn't follow canon because he was never meant to be canon, or at least 1610 anyway, so it makes him more of a hero with the mindset everyone has to live no matter who (as he questions about Ben's death and the uncle figure of all the other spider society), rather than let it happen because it's meant to be
He brings the comedy, drama, friendliness, cockiness, sarcasm, all of it and more. I love the other VA legends, Insomniac Games Yuri Lowenthal, Spectacular Spider-Man Josh Keaton, 90's series (sorry name), MTV series/Shattered Dimensions Neil Patrick Harris, hell even Chris Pine's short lived Peter in ITSV, they're all great, and most of the other voice actors for Peter have done great things for the role
Jake & Josh's Peter's are definitely my favourite takes on the actual chracter But Jake's Peter being more aged up,& the way he does he plays the actual role is actually perfect (he's also so well written,& loved that "scene" with Miles in ATSV) This video is really well made, some of the best some I've seen on YT for a while Editing is fantastic
As someone who prides themself on editing this comment means SO MUCH! I'm still learning the ins and outs so having positive encouragement like this is so important to me! MUCH love dude!
This was an excellent analysis. Its actually sad as a lot of people have crticises Peter portrayal in the Spider verse movies as being 'just a loser', but for me as someone whos aeound his age he's the most relatable. Its also good to see a version of Peter who appears to be evolving into uncle ben as opposed to spme rich techy billionaire
jake johnson is just so cool. and his spiderman is just the funniest and most heartfelt. i would not say i like him better overall, just cause i love tobey's version AND i love tom's version. but the way spidey comes to life in these spiderverse movies, is just epic 💕
I think another reason Jake Johnson makes a good Peter Parker is that his name is also an aliteration. But seriously, he blends the comedy and tragedy of Spider-Man so well.
I do think of this spiderman as the same guy we saw in New Girl xd it’s funny how much they relate, and it’d actually be fun to see a live action universe where they turn into their voice actors. Just imagine seeing Nicolas Cage, Hailee Steinfield, and Jake Johnson as their respective Spider-Man version xd
One of my favorite things about Jake Johnson, both as Spider-Man and just in general, is that he's still mostly just doing this for fun, and you can really tell with the performances he puts in. There's an interview with him floating around where he talks about how he wound up doing the Tom Cruise Mummy movie, and it was basically he didn't read the script, didn't know what character he was gonna play, didn't even really know what the movie was about; he said yes because it sounded like a weird opportunity, and in the worst-case scenario, he'd wind up with a funny story.
Bruh I didn't see that until you pointed it out. This video seemed so professional, I thought there had to be an existing viewerbase. Seems like only a matter of time though

I appreciate you not only watching, but going the extra mile and commenting something so kind. I'll keep at it because I love making content, but also I love reading comments like this one! Man, Why is every iteration of peter parker so damn good. Spiderman (Tobey Maguire), Amazing Spiderman, MCU Spiderman, Spiderverse Spiderman, and PS4 spiderman are all awesome in their own ways.
Look I do agree with you that Jake is the best Spider-Man because of everything you said… BUT the only actor who’s played Spider-Man who’s literally MADE for quips is Josh Keaton’s Spectacular Spider-Man NO ONE can make quips or deliver them like he does
Spectacular Spider-Man's quip game is unparalleled dude and I love the show! I just kept this video exclusively to theatrically released peter parkers so he wasn't really in the running
Frankly I think very similarly. The actor himself is very charismatic and fun, he always puts a smile on my face when I see him perform but the moment he’s behind the animated mask of Spider-Man, he just clicks for me. The character I’ve grown up with all my life was never accentuated quite like Peanut Butter Parker in Into The Spider-Verse. This is even considering Josh Keaton and Christopher Daniel Barnes, who are second and third on my list of best Spider-Men. There’s something about PBP that just makes it work. His performance and I are sorta like sea horses, we meet and we make it work. I think he’s criminally underused in Across The Spider-Verse but that’s okay since the movie isn’t about him. He’s still there and he’s still a shining light in the film, able to make for a funny optimistic Spider-Dad that he needs to be. When he appears for the first time, especially after watching his arc in Into The Spider-Verse, it just makes my grin even wider when I see him. Jake Johnson is the best Spider-Man I can identify and enjoy the most because he’s the most beautiful of all of them.
I have yet to see it but dude I DO want that movie in my mouth, I need to see it, hear it, smell it. Consume it with all of my senses. You know... like normal people do when they watch movies
7:14 lol my thoughts exactly before it came out also, an amazing essay! i cannot agree more with how jake johnson's portrayal of spiderman and peter parker is so real and raw, we can't help but love him. great video, great analysis, and it was SUCH A GOOD MOVIEEEEE
That's so kind of you to say! Truly it means more than you realize. Thanks for taking time out of your day to not only watch, but comment something so nice! Have a good one friend!
Andrew Garfield is hands down my favorite spiderman I can feel the passion he has for the character and i love what they're doing with the spiderverse movies
It is SO refreshing to see a Peter Parker that is already developed and solid as a Spider-Man, because growing up I would see comics of a fully developed adult. I never looked at Spider-Man in his suit and say “oh that’s a kid like me.” The live action big budget versions will always have their wings clipped in this regard- they have to add a sort of babyish noob quality to Peter which means we as an audience are entertained by the “idea” of Spider-Man and seeing glimmers of what his full potential is. We are always holding our breath and watching him learn about stuff we already know so much about. I feel like MCU spidey has it the hardest since his story has changed so much with the addition of the avengers and no matter how many movies we get of *just* Spider-Man it doesn’t get to take as many risks because it needs to stay caught up with a handful of other characters and their plots and any avengers movie. Peter B is definitely my favorite Peter Parker Spider-Man.
i just saw the new movie and by god. it surpassed all expectations. i knew it was good but good lord. it had me sobbing. and seeing this vid just made me love it and the original all the more ;; such an outstanding piece of art
4:14 the answer is to live with love understanding and mutual respect it might not turnout what we had hoped or liked- but with these, itll hardly be called a mess
Absolutely it was and I'm really glad you noticed! I like to add those little details, but I feel like most of the time they go unnoticed! You've made my day here!
He is my favourite character in the movie. He is older, he is a mess, he is tired. You can feel it in his very voice when he talks with Aunt May: "You look tired Peter. - Well, I'm tired". I don't know but it feels so relative. I'm almost at my 30s and sometimes feel so tired and lost. That's why I hope so much for this character. In the end of the movie you feel so hopeful for him when he overcomes his fear and comes to MJ. And I feel so happy for him in second film where he has a baby and how she makes him happy. You really feel hopeful. Spider-man is my most favourite character. Most of the time in comics he is called the greatest superhero ever lived. And here you see why. He always comes back, no matter what. No matter how hard it is for him, how much will it cost him he will continue to fight. Also it is cool to see how experienced he is. For Miles whole mess was terrible experience, for Peter it was Tuesday. He can see things before they come, he can remember super long password in first try looking in a mirror. He casually wall-walking, like it's nothing. He cares about hygiene in a suit more than other things because he can do other things blindfolded. He is really confident in his superhero stuff.
I think Peter B had the biggest character glow-up since the last movie. From a broken-hearted man who was ready to die to save the multiverse. Like, he fully accepted the fact that he was going to die before he gets to see MJ again. And now he's a girl-dad and husband and he loves it. He has a life again, a family again, and now is assured with the fact that he wants to have a family and isn't afraid to mess up.
Garfield doesn't get enough love. His movies were beautifully directed and he's all the chops to play Peter and more, and it was just bogged down by a mediocre script. There's a little moment in TASM when Peter's developing his web shooters, and when he finally gets it to work he just marvels (heh) at his invention like a total dork and no other Peter has had the same adorkable reaction to science, something peter claims to love in every iteration, like that. The closest we got was a smiling peter in class when he ditched the mask in SM2.
Eric from The Crow was also meant to be an average everyday person that was not meant to be special in any way. When they did the movie, James O'Barr hated that they made him a rockstar and gave him a last name. He was never meant to be special or glamorous in any way.
I've been saying the same ever since ITSV came out! Peter B Parker IS the comic book Spidey stepping off the page, and is made even better by being a continuation of the pre-Civil War comics continuity. No unmasking, no OMD, no BND, no Wells - this is a Spidey that respects nearly 50 years of continuous storytelling. Anyway, my favourite Spidey growing up was Ben Reilly. I wasn't thrilled with his portrayal in ATSV but the critique of '90s comics was fair 😅
0:00 - 0:15 genuinely perfect take lmaoooo I fully relate. I feel this way about Barry Keoghan, he did a lil short as a live action Spiderman, and he just looks like the very original comic book version of Spiderman in real life. So cool to see. But yes, even though Peter (A) Parker is the "perfect" Spiderman, Peter B. Parker is THE Spiderman. His struggles, even when they break him, always make him better - or, these hardships allow him to do better for so many people, even though the sacrifice couldn't be more real. Great video! The vocal talent is so real in this film, and Jake is a perfect casting choice, as you've showed.
I love your take on Peter B and felt the same thing watching Spiderverse in theatres. Peter B felt like a portrayal of what pursuing good means once life beats out the optimism you had in your youth. It's a bleak but unavoidable facet of life, that unfortunately doesn't get portrayed enough in stories except in a cynical way, when it could be such a great tool to dig into human endurance, grit and perseverance. Also - I was thinking how haven't I run into your channel yet? And watched your Super Mario Bros video and the view count, you're crazy underrated... so psyched this video is blowing up so your view count starts matching the quality of your ideas and editing!
You've made my day with this comment! For one your analysis of the Peter B. Parker character is fantastic! Secondly, your compliments are what keep me going - so truly thank you! I hope you know that I truly mean it!
No because you're right. Jake Johnson IS The Amazing Spider-Man. He's the character that we know and love from the comics that we grew up with, and his performance the direction for how he is and how he acts, his experiences...This is him. Our Spider-Man.
haha I'm slow at editing, so if I did do a video like that it would take me a VERY long time to make! Don't worry tho, I will be making an across the spider-verse video once I get the chance to see it 😀
I’d say Tobey is still my all time favorite Spider-man. However, I can’t deny that Peter B Parker, Insomniac, Spectacular, and 90’s TAS all come very very close. But as far as live action it’s Tobey by a long shot lol. Great video man 👍🏽
Jake Johnson killed the role , I recommend Safety no guaranteed. Grown Up Peter is the way he has been in the comics. Jake brings in what the movie character had been missing.
Peter doesnt always have to be a teenager in highschool to be relatable cause i think people will agree when i say that alot of the real struggles come after highschool or college (well not all the time but most of the time) things like having to find your own apartment pay your own bills find your own way in life not to mention being in relationships etc the people who grew up with spider-man who are now older can find comfort in seeing Peter going through the same struggles there going through thats why i think your right in saying Jake johnson is the best Spider-Man thats also the reason why i like Peter in Spider-Man ps4 he goes through alot the struggles Peter B Parker goes through edit: btw brilliant video on why Jake possibly is the best spider man
Anyone who has anything bad to say about any spiderman actor, live action or not, is absolutely crazy. Every actor to take on the role has done an excellent job and that includes tom holland. We can have our favorites its impossible for everyone to agree wich is the best bc they're all good but to say any of them is bad is insane to me
Thanks for this comprehensive look at Peter B. I’m glad he turns his life around in spider-verse 2. (No, I have not seen it, and if anyone posts spoilers in the replies, I will track you down and punch you.) And my favourite Spider-Man is Peter Parker of Earth 1048, Insomniac’s take on the webhead.

ABSOLUTELY! YES! You get it dude!
ya and he was insufferable and annoying i dont want my peter like that, the comics are better
@@BowmansWorld not the current run🥲 but luckily the miles run right now is super good😎 highly recommend
@@Deezfugginnutzinyomouf nope i like the current run as well u manbabies need to get over MJ, dan slott had an incredible run as well with peter winning and not depressed and u all still complained.
@@BowmansWorld you just described how everyone in the comics views spider-man, he’s always been annoying (not always in a funny way) and the most recent comics run is just god awful (zeb wells run) and if you consider that better, turn in your nerd card and get out.
If you’re talking about older comics that’s fine, but this is a very good portrayal of the character.
i think Andrew Garfield had the potential to be the best Spider-Man, its really unfortunate he never have the writing to back it up. Like he stole the show during No Way Home, if by some chance he ever has the opportunity to play the character again I think he could take the cake
the only problem is the heads at sony are still the same and are STILL pushing the sinister six shit
That would be amazing aye!
I’d kill to see a movie for each of the side spider people, Gwen especially with how gorgeous her world is
Same. I like miles sure but he isn’t my Spider-Man. Peter Parker is and forever will be Spider-Man
I feel spm ps4 is pretty good
That won't happen because we always have to have a 'high school spider man as the main'. As you can't heavily market that type of guy to kids.
I love how you mentioned that he portrayed a loser in New Girl but it was by choice after they revealed that he actually passed the bar yet chose to work as a bartender

@@BillyCabinsYT arguably the most Peter Parker thing to do
Peter B. Parker made me realize that Spider-Man’s usual sassy quips + being tired 24/7 is the perfect recipe for a dad 😂

Yeah,Tobey,Andrew,Tom they are Iconic, but Peter B Parker is completely fresh experience, grow up Peter who is really tired from life, and even in this time somewhere inside of him there is hero,it’s not about just beating a villain it’s about growing up taking care of children and I love it,definitely best spidey I ever seen
Well said friend! He's a spider-man for the ages!
The line when Aunt May says you look tired Peter. Man that hit me so hard knowing what Peter has went through 🥺
I love the way he delivered the line about seahorses. You can feel his emotions when he says that.
his spiderman feels like the fun but dorky uncle. like he's your mom's brother
I wouldn't want Spider-Man any other way tbh haha
Like nick miller with Schmidt's kid. Same dynamic
Mate go watch the raimi trilogy and read the amazing fantasy comics
Oh man, poor Tom. He really tries to bring lot of youthful energy and enthusiasm to the role. Plus, he does the accent.
He does add some youthfulness I'll give him that!
Chris pine's spiderman caught me off guard the most. He was honestly incredible.
Jake Johnson is also phenomenal as Spiderman. My respect for him as a VA has increased tenfold after Across the Spiderverse.
Legit a wonderful voice actor and actor in general. Jake Johnson is super underrated.
Dude, this was such a good essay. A very concise one that gets its point across really well. And hell yes, I LOVE JAKE JOHNSON! Good work, man.
That means so much to me that you not only took time out of your busy day to watch my video, but you also commented something so kind! Your words of encouragement do not go underappreciated dude! MUCH love! (also hell yeah Jake Johnson is the BEST right?)
Great video essay! Jake Johnson does such a great job portraying the most relatable Spider-Man there is while continuing to fill that superhero role
I couldn't have said it better myself friend! Much love!
Nah ps4 Spider-Man was also amazing too especially since it showed Peter being late on his rent and everything
He is my favorite Spider-Man hope he gets his own spin off movie
tbh I don't think it'd ever happen but I REALLY want that too. At the very least a tv series, ya know!
@@BillyCabinsYT exactly
The comment equivalent of "NUH UH!!"
But animation as a medium also gives Jake an edge over the live-action spider-men:
It makes him EVEN MORE relatable and every-man.
That relatability is hard to match.
know this doesn’t count, but peters web is still the most accurate interpretation of a live action spider-man to date.
I can get with that tbh
I keep thinking why I like Peter B., turns out I like him because I kinda relate to him. I’m tired of many things in my life, been at my lowest but I know I can not stop.
I'm sorry to hear that but also incredibly happy that you've found solace (like I have) in the form of such a wonderful role model. We can't stop. Because Spider-Man always gets back up... and just like into the spider-verse says... ANYONE can wear the mask
The scene where he see aunt may knowing that his aunt may is dead broke my heart.
Great work dude! I was also hyped to see Peter B. Parker in the new sequel and even though he doesn't have much screen time in it. Jake Johnson performance doesn't disappoint.
That's wonderful news! I haven't gotten the chance to see it yet, but I'm hype!
Andrew Garfield is the worst spiderman we ever had. There was no nuance in his acting. He was just terrible at it.
@@jordankelly4684 nah the worse is Tom Holland
@@jordankelly4684 The thing about it it's like the quips were so off like you can see the lizard fight like there's interjections at the most awkward times and sometimes no dialogue at all but it just might be the script. I thought he was the worst spiderman because who seriously whistles the theme song while apprehending somebody
@@jordankelly4684 this was such a lazy rebuttal i can't help but laugh

These two are true goats, I love Tobey and Andrew, but I don't think they are anywhere near the level that Peter B and Insomniac are at.
first video that I completely agreed with on the spider-man tier list. Thank you for speaking sense good sir
Sense is all speak, man!
I can get down with this!
Jake & Josh's Peter's are definitely my favourite takes on the actual chracter
But Jake's Peter being more aged up,& the way he does he plays the actual role is actually perfect (he's also so well written,& loved that "scene" with Miles in ATSV)
This video is really well made, some of the best some I've seen on YT for a while
Editing is fantastic
Epic indeed my friend!
I could not believe you only have 200 views and 800 subs man I thought this was a popular ass channel. Keep it up you’ll go the distance

Man, Why is every iteration of peter parker so damn good. Spiderman (Tobey Maguire), Amazing Spiderman, MCU Spiderman, Spiderverse Spiderman, and PS4 spiderman are all awesome in their own ways.
the editing is on point, i laughed pretty fuckin hard when it cut to "cause spider man always gets back up" and hes in the shower crying.
"I'll tell you the good news... we don't need the monitor" with the little hand toss? That STILL cracks me up to this day!
Saw Across the spiderverse yesterday. It was sooo good! I absolutely LOVE Jake Johnson as spiderman. Looking forward to the third!
I am so happy to see someone give Jake Johnson’s Spider-Man some love. he really is the best.

Peter tossing the monitor always cracks me up
Andrew Garfield is hands down my favorite spiderman I can feel the passion he has for the character and i love what they're doing with the spiderverse movies
Art is exactly the word I would use to describe Across the Spiderverse

I agree. The dynamic between him, Miles and Gwen is fantastic.
6:37 the transitions on those images to portray your feelings on the actors is just underrated and I wanted to praise it if it was intentional

I would die for Jake Johnson ever since he played Nick miller and he CRUSHED the switch to voice acting
6:21 has me in tears
Spectacular Spider-Man is easily the most savage/snarky I love the guy!
The 3 live-action actors did amazing jobs at taking the role and making it their own. Their own unique Spider-Men. Jake Johnson simply IS Spider-Man.
5:54
That bagel sure hit the spot
“Tom Holland Spider-Man exists” lmao accurate
Eric from The Crow was also meant to be an average everyday person that was not meant to be special in any way.
When they did the movie, James O'Barr hated that they made him a rockstar and gave him a last name. He was never meant to be special or glamorous in any way.
You've convinced me that Jake Johnson's Spider-Man is the best Peter Parker, but miles Morales will always be my favorite Spider-Man
Amazing video, was a great watch. Flowed well and never dragged. You and your editor are great at keeping interest.
“Can I come in this way or…do I need to break my own window”

No because you're right. Jake Johnson IS The Amazing Spider-Man. He's the character that we know and love from the comics that we grew up with, and his performance the direction for how he is and how he acts, his experiences...This is him. Our Spider-Man.

"Tom Holland Exists" well said.
We can have our favorites its impossible for everyone to agree wich is the best bc they're all good but to say any of them is bad is insane to me
100% agree with this, and would maybe say #2 is Shameik Moore. But combo of Johnson and Moore is 💯
I am so happy he has been getting more recognition as a actor. I was hoping the industry wasn’t going to see him as a one dimension actor on new girl.

Thanks for this comprehensive look at Peter B. I’m glad he turns his life around in spider-verse 2. (No, I have not seen it, and if anyone posts spoilers in the replies, I will track you down and punch you.)
