Hi Alex, I am a 72-year old who has playing golf about 54 years, but I still have good distance on my swing, but hooks on every club has been killing my game. I know I have a strong tendency to come over the top. Started with my baseball/softball swing and trying many methods to stop it. I also sweep the ball, and have not been able to achieve the Holy Grail of taking a divot in front of the ball . Going out to the range today to apply your lesson here. Love your videos .

Hi Alex, great content. I had my first round of golf in about 12 years. Two things I found challenging: 1. The dreaded slice off the tee. 2. Putting. More specifically, grip and releasing the putter.

Excellent job Alex on showing how to get the correct ball position for a particular shot. I find that ball position is very important and I pay close attention to it all of the time. Sometime I goof up and get it wrong and when I do, the results of the shot are not good! Well Done Alex!

Understanding n adjusting ball pos was a big game changer for me as well, I light bulb lit wen watching WLD n seeing their positions ... this should be focused on alot more in lessons & training vids as it is super player specific & creates massive improvement "quickly"

Great stuff again Alex. I remember growing up I read something from Gary Player in kind of a comic book format. It was helpful. Something you could sell in the form of reminders with illustrations.

Alex, I’m a 35 year old golfer. I’m currently struggling with swing speed and creating a divot with each iron shot. I recently bought an MLM2Pro to help review my numbers and shot analysis.

I've been playing around with my ball positions (for reason you state) with driver and woods I setup with feet together and ball inline with my right foot(as a RH) then move left foot one foot width to left and right foot to the right to give a comfortable stance..(works OK for me )

I'm lefty. I have a habit of coming over the top and slicing. On my irons I realized I'm not rotating during the backswing... However, when comes to my driver, I just unlocked 30 yards with an unconventional setup using this club path knowledge. The reality of club head speed is that it is fastest well beyond the inside of your forward foot. I moved the ball higher and target forward to forward pinky toe and adjusted my body alignment to compensate for the new ball position... I instantly broke my 235 barrier and now hit the ball straight as an arrow and 265... It will take a few rounds to relearn my body setup... But the results have been phenomenal so far. I am 58 yo. 5' 10" 165 lbs. Unfortunately I played on a course without any gps... so I don't have exact distances. But I was blown away with where my drives were landing. They were well beyond my average 220 to 235. And that of course means using an 8i or aw vs. 5i or 7i on the 2nd shot.... oh, I am a 21 handicapper...😅😢

Wow, great timing. I've always been challenged with pulling my shorter irons and missing the greens to the left! I also started having this issue as i moved the ball further up to hit up with my new Ping driver. I will try your new suggestion next time on the course/range. Fyi I could use help on hitting out the thick rough after a tee shot, given Chicago courses are still cutting grass high early in the season.
How long an iron or hybrid to use for the second shot, ball position, grip strength, etc. Your insights would be appreciated!

Hello Alex great video with great information, I play around 52 over nine holes focusing on a 2 put on green which I have been happy with, but teeing off lately I’m fading more than ever. I do focus a lot on my grip , so if you could demonstrate fingers/ hands holding grip for a natural strike each time. I would really appreciate it.

Hello Alex. Question for you regarding the position of the hula hoop - wouldn't the circle's center be directly below the target shoulder? And wouldn't that move the circle forward in your stance? Or are you simplifying this concept to account for hitting the ball first and then the bottom of the arc being forward of center? Just trying to get the concept of the swing arc and where it bottoms out straight in my head. Thank you and great video!

I can go from a thin shot to a complete chunk 6 inches behind the ball in back to back swings when nothing feels different and I intentionally do nothing different.. I know it would infuriate some but I've accepted it so I know it will happen. I've also started experiencing hosel shanks with my wedges going straight right.

Hi Alex. I'm 71 and over the many years of playing golf I've got into the habit of a short,, fast backswing. I am trying to lengthen my swing and get a slight pause before coming back down but am finding it difficult to break the habit of whip lashing down. Would be grateful for any tips. Thanks

Hi Alex. I’m off to Spain next week for our annual golf trip and I’ve hurt my left knee. I can’t put my full weight on it so my power has reduced mainly on my drives. Is there a move that would help me get more club head speed without maxing my weight transfer. Brilliant channel btw Mike.

i mean this looks cool and might seem right but its not really. your swing path has almost 0 effect on your start line. you face direction though will always effect starting line. i could put that ball as far forward on that ring and if my face was open to the path the ball would still start right and slice even harder right. this only works if people face to path is always 0 which for 99% of golfers its not. for me i swing 10* in to out and even with that i still hit pulls because my face is to closed because im afraid to hit it right because i use to have a bad slice.
