    Once Upon A Dream is not entirely Disney’s magic, Tchaikovsky helped (a lot) - the song’s melody is (heavily) based on a piece from his Sleeping Beauty ballet.

      Disney used major movements from Tchaikovsky's ballet for the entire film score. Maleficent's eerie theme is actually "Puss in Boots" in the ballet. It can be a bit disconcerting to hear it in one context when you are more familiar with the other.

    (6:22) You know what's sad? "Los Rescatadores" was the last work Edmundo Santos (Spanish translator of Walt Disney movies since Pinocchio, and director since Fantasia) worked on. In this dubbing, his granddaughter Tony Assael, plays the voice of Penny, at that time Tony was just a little girl. Edmundo died 3 weeks before the premiere of the movie; he translated "Someone's Waiting for You" as a tribute to her. The song was renamed as "Pronto la Dicha Llegará" (Soon Bliss Will Come). This is a small part of it:
    ♪ _Do not cry, my good. By crying your suffering will grow. Have confidence, have faith, my child. You will be very happy. [...] The love you long for will come. [...] Soon bliss will come. Your weeping will not return. [...] A love will not be long in coming. Be confident and don't cry anymore, your dreams will come true_ ♪
    Tony after the premiere, they would ask her: "how do you feel about being in the movie?" She would start crying and say, "I want my grandpa!"

      I wish the narrator had noted that Angela Lansbury literally stepped off her delayed flight from NYC to LA, raced to the recording studio where the orchestra stayed overtime at her request…and performed the ballad in One. Take! So what we hear on the soundtrack is the exact same single take she did in the studio! She received a standing ovation every time she ever sang it.

    Especially "The next right thing", I find it captivating because of the sadness of the lyrics at the beginning and the resilience with which Anna gets up despite the dark situation, inspires me a lot; "When she loved me" it still gives me the same feeling as when I saw it as a child and as older; "A dream is a wish you heart makes" I still love it for the hope and excitement it awakens in me; "Dos oruguitas" still gets me the melody and scenes; also "Remember me"
    because of how moving the lyrics are when they touch my heart and that "until you are in my arms, remember me" .

Beautiful and heartfelt, it perfectly encapsulates Pocahontas and John Smith’s declaration of love that even if their romance wasn’t meant to be, the time that they spent together was worth it in the end. • @25Erix
      @25Erix 8 місяців тому

      That song is hitting me harder now that I'm older and have a better understanding of how Christ lived when he walked the earth. It also exemplifies God's character without spelling it out or making it the focus. Esmeralda, a Romani, is outside of the faith due to her culture but she was willing to entertain the possibility enough to ask a God she doesn't know to exist to intercede on behalf of her people and those less fortunate. If that's not faith, I don't know what is. Her prayer was Christ's entire ministry in a nutshell. He lived as an outcast to help the outcasts. God is all-powerful and didn't have to do, well, anything of the sort but he still chose to come down to our level anyway to see life from our perspective.
      I don't consider myself religious anymore. I'm more of a spiritual Christian these days. I try to stay in touch with the reality of God and all He's done in the past, present, and future. He's not what the religious fanatics say he is and he's not what the militant atheists think he is. Especially when they point to everything in the Old Testament. They conveniently gloss over how many chances He gave before resorting to the drastic actions we see written there. No better example than the Ten Plagues in Exodus. Nine of those were completely survivable. Yeah, Egypt suffered (life in general is suffering so nothing new there at all) but they survived. And when Pharoah didn't bend after nine chances...well...that's when the big gun came out. No one survives Death.

    Some of these memorable Disney songs both old classics and most recent ones in this list has been part a big part of my childhood and I still love listening to them today my favorites are The Next Right Thing, You’ll Be in My Heart by Phil Collins, Someone’s waiting for you, Goodbye may seem forever, Baby Mine and Beauty and the Beast by the late Angela Lansbury 👍❤️🥲

      I remember being really into Disney myself as a kid. But now with all the greed, corruption, and bad movies coming out now, I fear the magic and joy of Disney is beginning to fade away. If Disney ever falls, I guess all we can do is remember it, like in the song Remember Me.

    The title should be (at least for some songs): "Top 20 songs that will make you cry"
    Dumbo's song is just soooo sad. the whole situation is just heartbreaking. Can't go through that song without crying :D.

    I think why ‘Goodbye May Seem Forever’ is so effective because, for a majority of it, Tod just thinks Tweed is taking him for a drive and he’ll return to home with her.

    😟I've never seen the fox and the hound in it's entirety but that one clip of the foxes expression upon the realization that something was different/sad about his care taker friend almost got me, animals are so pure and they don't always understand when things are changing but they notice our mood, that scene reminded me of a moment with my cat some years ago, and once upon a dream is so beautiful the voice actress does an amazing job such a lovely voice and the animation is equally mesmerizing and don't get me started on Toy Story 2 the tears couldn't be contained Sarah McLachlan never fails to get me coupled with that scene of Jessie being left in a box as her friend drives away I was like really Disney? haha this is kinda rough for kids, you have a then young adult tearing up I can imagine what kids around the world went through during that scene. Sarah said/sang when somebody loves you with that beautiful falsetto tone she has, I was like sniff, sniff. awe, don't do Jessie like that. great list great films and beautiful music 🎥🍿

    A lot of songs on this list make me emotional, but there's two from sequels and two from a live-action that REALLY make me emotional: "Desert Moon" from my FAV of all the remakes I've seen: Aladdin, just because that song is a slow and beautiful love ballad. The other song that makes me emotional is the second reprise of "One Jump Ahead". It may be short, but it's INCREDIBLY sad, and it plays RIGHT after the emotional "What Have I Done" scene. The two from sequels that make me emotional are: "Out Of Thin Air" from "Aladdin and the King of Thieves", bc, just like "Desert Moon", it's a slow and beautiful love ballad, and "Always There" from Lady and the Tramp 2. There's also one song from "Lady and the Tramp 1" that makes me emotional, but Idk if it even has a title. I just call it "Dog Pound Howl". It's such a sad song, and possibly the SADDEST scene in the whole movie. To me, it's like an animated version of those heartbreaking animal shelter commercials.
