I know im late to this video, but ive personally had the Hyperx cloud 2 for 3 years and I have to say I had no issue what so ever wearing these things all day.
I have an arctis 5 here at home, the only thing that's bad is the DTS surround sound. The headset performs better without that option, as where it's turned off I can still tell from where an enemy is shooting from. You should also disable any enhancements that you might have on like bass boost because ingame the bass can break the awareness where you might lose a few footsteps to hear. nice review as always ;)
@@TheTechne it's just the best for gaming to leave everything turned off if you can on these, telling from experience because the bass can supress very important little sound, this also came to my brother's mind where he had a corsair void pro without software where he told the headset had alot of bass compared to his newest upgrade the Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro's, calling the bass boost despicable after a clear sound, saying it now sounds blurred and muffled to him right now :p

You can here both of the audios from the aux cord to the actual steelseries cord. Thank you for listening to me
I have the both of them. Well not really but its the Alpha S instead of Cloud 2. The steelseries is much more comfortable with little clamping force. The Alpha feels nice but after awhile kinda hurts a little. I'm more likely to take off the Alpha after 30 minutes compared to the Arctis. Hell I once almost dropped it on the floor cause I forget I had it on. Sound wise the Arctis sounds much more open but Alpha is much more accurate with sound cues. Just contributing to the discussion. Great comparison Techne!

But i order some new earpads, from misodiko(ali express), and, boom! Larger earpads, super super hyper soft and cosy, better confort, great sound isolation, and a litle more clamping force! For the Arctis 5 do you recommend it for PS5 if you have the ability to customize it on the Steelseries software. Im really focusing on audio and directional sound. Im really considering the Arctis 5 but if there is something with better audio at the same price range I would really appreciate some recommendations.
That's one in depth review, thank you I appreciate it! I've been comparing these two for days now, trying to figure out which to go with. How does the HyperX Alpha compare here? HELP! (looking for strict PC gaming)
First got the Arctis 5 but the left earcup would make too much noise such as popping and what not whenever I moved my head I think its mostly due to the fact there is no support in the very tip of the headset it just floats above the cup. Ended up going with the Cloud 2s and they were quite nice
I feel like the gears represent creation, the process of creation, and the view inside of how things work. I know it's cheesy, lol! Techne: An art, skill, or craft, a technique, or method by which something is achieved or created.
man I've had the cloud IIs since 2017, they've fallen on the ground, I've smacked them to the ground in blind rage, they still are working perfectly fine though... now the leather started peeling off so I decided it's time for a change and I heard all the hype around the Logitech G Pro X headsets, so I was like " oh it looks almost identical to the cloud IIs but better! So I bought them, 3 months in, they DIED because I accidentally got pulled on the cord and they smacked like NOT EVEN HARD against the keyboard, resulting in the right ear completely shutting, I was just amazed... like how?!??! Then I decided to TAP with my hand on the left earcup, like not even hard again, and the left died as well... I swear the build quality is something completely different between those two, now I'm wondering if I should change them with Arctis 5 or Arctis Pro, the price difference isn't really that big, or should I just buy a new Cloud II headset, idk man...
@@Ne0LiT Dude I have the exact same problem, leather peeled off bigtime after 4 years and now im struggling whether to buy G-Pro, Arctis 5, Arctis Pro or just another cloud 2......... (I figure not g-pro based on what u said) LOL but I rlly cant make up my mind :( and no Techne doesnt like the Alpha over the Arctis ones
@@ExitiumD my best bet would be Either of the Arctis or another Cloud 2s or Cloud Alpha S, however I'm experiencing some software issues with the Arctis Pros, the presets are not applying at al for some reason. Had reinstalled and uninstalled previous drivers, cleared registry and such, still nothing. My last bet would be to reinstall my OS completely to see if that fixes it, so I would also like to inform about this issue. I don't know the most flawless headphones I've ever had were the Cloud 2s, so it is a safe bet for you, but the Arctis are more comfy tbh, and the G Pro is actually not as comfortable in my opinion, especially o your ear, as the membrane inside is very thin and it can hurt your ears. I had bruises after a few hours of usage as my ear would constantly rub against the thin membrane and into the plastic speaker, so idk.. It really is up to you, but from what I know the Cloud Alpha S might be even better, if you want to run the safe option, go on with that, especially given that both the Arctis Pro and G Pro are more expensive. I can't tell about the Arctis 5 as I've never owned ones, but from what I know they're good.
@@ExitiumD but yeah, the Arctis Pros might be the most comfortable ones I've ever owned till now, so if you want to go with comfort, the Arctis 5 seem to be the same build so probably that would be best.
I really hate the arctis 5 but I can agree It's better for people when it comes to sweat. I've had hyperX Cloud 2 for as long as I can remember and it still looks new It has never broken or any damage. The "swivel" on the HyperX is just fine in my opinion. The sound is also great in the HyperX Cloud 2. (You should've given the HyperX a point on durability. My arctis 5 broke after 4 - 5 years
Hey man, lovey our honest and in depth reviews! I was about to buy the SteelSeries Arctis 5 (2019 edition), but right now the Hyperx Cloud Alpha S are on sale and wondering if you think the Cloud S are actually better than the Arctis 5's, or are they just cheaper right now cus they suck?? That's one in depth review, thank you I appreciate it! I've been comparing these two for days now, trying to figure out which to go with. How does the HyperX Alpha compare here? HELP! (looking for strict PC gaming)
I didn't like that alphas, here is my take on them >> ua-cam.com/video/20eYA2CDr6s/v-deo.html

TYSMMMM
He really tried his best to be fair .. kudos to that
Can you please do Arctis 1 wirelss/wired review. Keep up amazing work love your content.
wireless coming soon, but here is this one for now ;) ua-cam.com/video/81fX_ope4RE/v-deo.html
First got the Arctis 5 but the left earcup would make too much noise such as popping and what not whenever I moved my head I think its mostly due to the fact there is no support in the very tip of the headset it just floats above the cup. Ended up going with the Cloud 2s and they were quite nice
BEST REVIEW. OMG
thank you so much!
thx for these amazing videos mate!!!
thank you for watching!
Amazing where you get those keycaps I love red, black and white colors.
Those ⚙️s on ⚙️s are dope! Why the ⚙️s though? ⚙️s are more mechanic than technical.
I feel like the gears represent creation, the process of creation, and the view inside of how things work. I know it's cheesy, lol!
Techne:
An art, skill, or craft, a technique, or method by which something is achieved or created.
The Techne lol kinda ironic u used those gears on the wall because Gears 5 came out yesterday
@@Tadayoh lol
man I've had the cloud IIs since 2017, they've fallen on the ground, I've smacked them to the ground in blind rage, they still are working perfectly fine though... now the leather started peeling off so I decided it's time for a change and I heard all the hype around the Logitech G Pro X headsets, so I was like " oh it looks almost identical to the cloud IIs but better! I swear the build quality is something completely different between those two, now I'm wondering if I should change them with Arctis 5 or Arctis Pro, the price difference isn't really that big, or should I just buy a new Cloud II headset, idk man...
how about the alpha s
@@TheTechne in your opinion is it better than the arctis 5 or pro? Do they actually feel better than the Cloud II?
My arctis 5 broke after 4 - 5 years
Only problem now is that HP owns them :(
Hp made them suck
Love your videos man!!!
thank you!
corsair 570 vs steel series 5 which is better in sound quality and comfort please answer me what do u recommend to buy
With me the steelseires artics 5 is good but a bit hurt my ear all the times. The sound just alright. Gonna change to alpha S and lets see
Hey man, lovey our honest and in depth reviews! I was about to buy the SteelSeries Arctis 5 (2019 edition), but right now the Hyperx Cloud Alpha S are on sale and wondering if you think the Cloud S are actually better than the Arctis 5's, or are they just cheaper right now cus they suck?? Been researching but thought id ask your opinion. I play on PC.
I would go arctis 5's all day.
@@TheTechne You're awesome dude, just ordered them, thanks for your response and quality content :)
What would you suggest for under $200 for ps4 and PC? (Using it more for the ps4). Been researching best headsets for ages and end up coming back to your videos all the time. Have now subscribed. Keep up the phenomenal work!
in that price range I would go Arctis 7's or Arctis Pro's with dac. btw thank you for watching my vids :)
Hey Techne I love your channel Its great and you are doing such a awesome job man.
Would be cool if you could try out Logitech Pro X Gaming Headset.
It seems to be a good competitor to both these headsets.
Also cool if you could get your hands on a Cooler Master MH752 to compare them all with the sourround 7.1 sound aswell!
thank you so much, I have 2 very similar vids for you

2.) ua-cam.com/video/RTqjoDNf5vg/v-deo.html
Hi great comparison what do you recomend is the best for only PS4? thanks
arctis 7's
Awesome video. Quick question, does the Arctis 5 work on the Xbox One?
i love your videos so much
thank you so much!
Do you lose the audio quality/mic quality if you just plug it in with 3.5mm jack? Im using mobile im kinda torn if i get arctis 1 wireless, 5 or 7
Listening to this review with the same headset
lol!!
nice.... but you can gain more views if you compare it to alpha... Cuz people are targeting for the alpha, haven't watched the video lol.
I really didn't like the alphas. ua-cam.com/video/20eYA2CDr6s/v-deo.html
The cloud 2s have surround sound, and the alphas don't, so idk why you'd get the alphas over the cloud 2s
the headset surround sound is gimmick and bs, everyone recommed just stick to the stereo.
Which headset would you recommend? I will be playing on Xbox and PC.
i like your review. i want to ask what headset is great for PC and console gaming?
what console?
I just bought the arctis 5 and in PC are incredible great, but I don't really play too much on PC I usually play more on Xbox would you recommend the Cloud 2 for Xbox?
Great vid as always!
thank you so much!
