“Forgiveness is between them and God. My job is to arrange the meeting.” -Creasy Bear Many thanks once again for the laughs and your reaction. I love a genuine smile and you guys are good. Keep on keeping on and Gritos from Tejas. P.S. “… a big sad bear” -Pita
I agree with Nick on this one. Although you can’t go wrong with anything “Denzel” this is my favourite. Dakota Fanning is another actor that never lets you down. The entire cast, as well as the story, was fantastic.
Small trivia., The guy that plays Miguel Monzano, the journalist's lover , is Giancarlo Giannini a very , very renowned Italian actor and very famous here in Europe. He too is a top-notch actor.
I commented on other reactions, and I’ll repeat it here: ANY actor could have played Creasy’s friend, but only Christopher Walken could play the “artistry” scene with Giancarlo Giannini the way Walken did… “Creasy’s art is death, and he’s about to paint his masterpiece…” - the tone, the nuance in his voice, the pinache - that is how it’s done, folks !
I disagree a little, because Walken and Washington have great chemistry here. They really do feel like old friends, who’d been through big shit together. Some movies throw a couple actors together and it’s not believable. You can feel their loyalty and care for each other.
One of my favorites! I feel the character he plays SO much. Also want to mention that I first "met" Dakota in a tv mini series called Taken. She was amazing even that young.
One of my top 20 movies, I've probably watched it 40 times. "I'm gonna kill em, you kill them all", "Creasy's art is death, he's about to paint his master piece", "This is between them and god, Its just my job to arranging the meeting", "I wish I had more time" awesome quotes. I fully recommend watching the alternative ending
Should check out Dakota Fanning and Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer in the movie: “I AM SAM “ Sean plays a mentally challenged father who fights to keep his daughter, hires Michelle as a lawyer to help him..also has a great supporting cast to help him!!( one of the guys is Percy from the Green Mile, get to see him as a better person) DAKOTA is fantastic in it as always!!!
Such an outstanding movie which doesn't seem to get the credit it deserves. Every actor was sensational in this movie IMO. You guys did a great job reacting, thanks for posting. ❤
The story is a redemption arc for Creasy. He spent most of his life killing people unjustly. Now though he is justified and after finding out she's still alive, he's sacrificing his life rather than just committing suicide. If you know about Catholicism which was a heavy theme in this movie then you know the important distinction between those two things in that belief system.
So refreshing to find someone who shares almost the same exact opinion on this masterpiece of a film 🤝🏽🤙🏽 100% Denzel’s finest work and one of the most raw/beautiful stories ever portrayed on the big screen
The script is great. With the first girl (Camilla) they sparked our hope that Pita is still alive but immediately crushed again when we see that it's not her. This further solidifies the fact that Pita is indeed dead. After the long killingspree very little hope is left which makes the exchange even better. It's said that there was an alternate ending where Creasy actually carries a bomb and took out the voice that way. Though it's an unecessary addition. The picture of the voice was known at that time so it was only a matter of time until they got him which is explained in the epilogue. I think this is the better ending.
Hey thanks for another stellar watch-along. Great movie. RIP Tony Scott. BTW, if you guys ever get a chance I'd love to see you do a reaction these two underrated movies: - Judgment Night (1993 movie with Emilio Estavez, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Dennis Leary about a bunch of friends avoiding some killers all night in run down early 90's Chicago.) - The Alamo (2004 historical film about the last stand during the Texas Revolution. Has Billy Bob Thorton, Dennis Quaid, Patrick Wilson, and Jason Patric. Pretty accurate flick.)
fun fact there’s a alternate ending where instead of dying in the car creasy meets the voice after he’s taken to him and he snuck explosives with him and blew himself and the voice up
I love the movie, however I think Denzel's finest performance was in the Rubin Hurricane Carter movie. The physical and mental metamorphosis Denzel went through in that movie was off the charts.
Mama Jen, I like the way you think. At the end of the movie you were hoping he had explosives so he can take the head guy out. That would have been an epic ending. Also if you ever come to Vegas and you want to go to a rave let me know.
I believe that there was an alternate ending where he does hide explosives on him and kills the remaining bad guys that way. I am not sure if it was ever filmed. Personally, I prefer the actual ending. Once he finds that Pita is alive, it stops being about revenge and becomes about rescuing her.
I hope this doesn't sound rude but everytime your mom says "Aye" It reminds me of those two Moose's from Brother Bear & I just start cracking up lol that's so random I know but I just had to say that 😂
Fantastic reaction video for this Masterpiece. Denzel Washington never disappoint anyone. He always delivered what his character feels. In this movie you got the feeling that he regrets what he done and drink to drive him self into suppression. (Just like Nathan Algren in The Last Samurai when he kept drinking to not remember what he ashamed of what he had done and both found a redemption while meeting new people and doing a job) Some interesting trivia about this movie: There were 2-3 love scenes between John Creasy and Lisa Ramos but they decided not to put it in the final cut of the movie or even in any post production cuts or director cut, they said it felt weird to the chain of the events some how however they were been shot many times. And you can see that's in some scenes from the tention between John and lisa when she told him that she took his Bible to keep her strong and who would thought she would read a Bible, and the kiss between them after that. And we see her spy on him talking with Pita once or twice. Again thanks to you for your reaction to this movie and i hope next movie would be also Denzel's movie which called Flight 2012 .. very very very fantastic movie and you will love it. This movie i considered the best. Best regards from Egypt, Momo the Fat Batman.
GREAT job on a GREAT GREAT movie. To me you inadvertently skipped what I feel is the biggest scene that explains Creasy & this GREAT movie. The scene is very easy to miss. here's the scene: After Creasy fails to kill himself, he's standing out in the pouring rain a completely & totally broken man. He's talking to his buddy Rayburn about the gun not firing. After the conversation, Creasy looks up and who's staring down looking over him like his guardian angel ?, Pita. Creasy is being paid to protect Pita, but it's actually Pita that is protecting Creasy. She's protecting him from himself. Everything changes after that moment for Creasy in this film. It's a brilliant twist.
If you have the DVD and haven't seen the deleted scenes, please watch them. It shows what happened to Creasy and The Voice on the same day. sad, but satisfying.
And the next time Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning will do any film work together again is Equalizer 3 that released last year(haven't seen any of the Equalizer movies, but I got to now on principle if only to see them acting together again). Almost 2 decades before they reunite on screen.
Damn……. It didn’t click in my head until now….. That scene with Christopher Walken talking too Denzel Washington on the phone after Denzel tried to shoot himself is an Easter egg lowkey also or just coincidence.. cause Christopher Walken in Deer Hunter was a Russian roulette expert. He’d know how that would feel like more than anybody when Denzel decides to talk to him about it.
There's no "reference" in Equalizer 3, it's actually a reunion. Dakota and Denzel appear on screen together for the first time since Man on Fire. That's not officially a spoiler, Dakota appears in the trailer and all the movie publicity focussed on this significant reunion, because it was 20 years between the two movies. That's all I'll say, other than I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 😊
Some people, like myself, and especially reaction channels, avoid trailers so we can go into movies completely blind. But they said it was next so hopefully they watched it already by now hehe

I agree too
Denzel Washington is the greatest actor of all time!! He’s never done a bad movie!!
Same
Small trivia., The guy that plays Miguel Monzano, the journalist's lover , is Giancarlo Giannini a very , very renowned Italian actor and very famous here in Europe. He too is a top-notch actor.
Giancarlo is great, he was in the first 2 of the Daniel Craig 007 films.

Denzel Washington is such a great actor. He's really frightening in this movie, the true embodiment of Revenge!
“JOHN Q”
Is another great Denzel movie. Denzel as a father who would do “anything “ to help/save his son!!
Malcolm X is Denzel’s best performance. He was nominated for an Oscar for that.
I agree 👍🏾.
He was great in that , my fav was Glory. I belive he won an Oscar for his role in that. Or some award 😂😂
sorry but bleek, in Mo better blues is his best movie
One of my favorites! I feel the character he plays SO much.

The one that got me was "She showed him it was okay to live again"...man who killed for country and dumped like trash ....

Such a great movie. I cried when they kidnapped her, when I thought she was dead and when she was rescued her 😭
Great reaction 😊

This is a vastly superior remake of an earlier film by the same name, starring Scott Glenn. It's worth checking out, as well.
Hi guys. Just wanted to say hi from Sydney Australia. Love watching your reactions and totally agree this movie is brilliant. Stay safe and be happy.

Even the reporter is the guard from Con Air and the female love interest Total Recall along with Rhada Mitchell. Great cast.
Denzel kills it with these roles.
Have y'all added FALLEN to your review list yet? One of his best roles!

My definite all time favorite Denzel movie.
I always get the name of this film mixed up with Vin Diesels best film, A Man Apart, highly overlooked gem.

You guys are so fun lol like super fun, all the commentary is on point, thanks for a fun time, I hope your channel picks up you deserve it!
Crazy how some people think killing the dog is worse. Or where some people have always instinctively valued or devalued human life.

This is DEFINITELY ONE OF DENZELS FINEST PERFORMANCES, BUT TRAINING DAY IS THE BEST
I keep thimking this is vased in fact on a real story. It sticks in my mind i seem to rememberber the Vouce from back in the 70s....
My favorite movie of all time.
Taken from a true story, great reaction.
John Q and Fences r two movies to see.
John Q is a tear jerker 😭
That movie is so wonderful.
If you have the DVD and haven't seen the deleted scenes, please watch them. It shows what happened to Creasy and The Voice on the same day. sad, but satisfying.
John Q please youtubers need to react to this movie more.
Have you seen A Soldier's Story? It's great. Denzel is terrific. Stellar cast. Great music.

Not bad reaction, hoping for Equalizer 3
One of my favorite Denzel movie!!
Other Denzel movies I highly recommend:
Deja Vu
Fallen
John Q
The Bone Collector
There is no way that bullet would work . The primer is already done, and it's the same brand firearm, it will hit that same dent
This is such a great thriller! I went to see this at the cinema 🎥!
Be a toss up between this and Training Day for Denzel best performance for me.
Training Day i think is still his best role, but this is not far behind.
There's a directors cut that end differently
Apparently! 🤔 We'll check it out. 😊
The Bone Collector 1999 ❤👍👍🍿🥤
Denzel Washington Angelina Jolie
I want to show Nick that one! 😊
Queen song? Hello? Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird maybe?
