Gunbreaker: 3 DPS in a trenchcoat attempting to bypass the roulette queues. Also, as a melee DPS main, much appreciation for the side tangent on how dumb positionals are.
If not raiding use your invuln to help your healer in big pulls, especially Paladins... realistically you'll rarely need your invuln as "panic button" so help a healer out 😌
Just keep your stance on, do your aoe ability twice, use your mitigations. Don't feel compelled to do wall to walls but do try and grab more than one pack.
UUuugh, as I finish off leveling all my jobs to 90 (just BRD, DNC, and WHM to finish off...), I can't help but loudly groan in annoyance when I see a tank pull ONE PACK at a time.
@@MythSamaelFFXIV I should add use your Mitigations in sequential order... and don't be scared to use your invuln if you're gonna die, you won't need it for any dungeon boss anyways - and for harder content you may do starting with EXs just be the off tank and watch and learn.
@@DrakeWurrum As I said should go for more I do think some* wall to walls can be a bit ridiculous. I prefer going slower than everyone dying. Still at least two or three is fine.
Agreed that tanking requires knowledge of the fight. I would say second place goes to Shield healers. Cause if you can consistently shield your party before a big attack comes, it makes your job way easier.
It requires no more knowledge than any other job. For dungeons and a lot of trials it arguably requires less knowledge, since a lot of mechanics don't even target tanks, and the ones that do target everyone else too (Except for TBs). For EX and Savage everyone needs knowledge of the fight, it might be slightly different knowledge, but certainly not more.
@@chstens Yeah some fights are even easier for Tanks.. Like P2 in TEA where OT is already not that hard and MT is literally the easiest role in the whole phase

I whole heartedly endorse the growth of tank mains and it has nothing to do with the fact that I'll be maining dps come DT.
