Good News - Update to this Video
The latest version of the *Glock 19 Gen.5* are updated with _front slide serrations_ and _no front bottom grip cut out._
I know this because I ordered one this week (4- 27-2020) and mine also has Ameriglo sights from the factory.
Glock is stepping up it's game.
I own both and prefer the FS. It's like a custom gun straight from the factory. Mine came with night sights. I don't like the flared magwell on the 5th. I also prefer the traditional squared nose on the FS.

Just picked up a gen 5 g19 ameriglo, and they’ve gotten on the ball and listened to the people, the frame is now beveled to match the slide.

Great video! This really shows the differences between the two generations. I learned quite a bit from it. I just very recently bought a G19 Gen 4. I'm glad i did, after handling the Gen 4 vs Gen 5. I like the Gen 4 much better. Plus i saved about $100.00 purchasing the Gen 4.

Firearms 101 i just bought a glock 19 gen 4 i havent shot it yet but i am looking forward to it
I have the 19 gen 4 amazing pistol shot it several times at the range never jammed up I keep it nice and clean finger grooves are comfortable all in all I prefer it over the 5

The gen-5 feels funky with that front cut it's almost like your pinky lands right in it
It fits my hand fine but Hammer has larger hands it his pinky gets into that and gets almost pinched by the magazine.
Yeah I don't really bother with any type of magazine sleeve extensions I kind of take a page out of Hickok45 just let that magazine hang out have you had a chance to check out the Gen 5 26 I'm kind of wondering what that is like
It all depends on the hands of the shooter.

Thank you. The finger grooves is likely the most significant change from the standpoint of handling it. Gen 4 has 'em , Gen 5 does not.

Good review. I have had enough Glocks to know that, in my opinion, the weak ejection pattern is a function of an out of spec ejector. I had a Gen3 that did the same thing. I replaced the ejector and the problem was solved. Perhaps other tolerances can stack in such a way that something else may need to be swapped, but my point is I don't think the weak ejection patterns are Gen thing.
Thank you. I will check out the ejector, however I have seen a number of people finding the same thing with the 19 G5 so it's likely a tolerance stacking issue. I am willing to bet there will be a .1 or .2 version of the ejector to address it.
Missing front serrations could be part of why it weights more??

Thank you. The Glock Night Sights were not shipped on all of them, most came with a steel U-Dot sight. If you scored one of the Glock Night Sights version then you did well!
They Are Both Great. I Just Prefer The Gen 5 Trigger A Bit More. Especially After You Polish The Internals The Trigger Just Feels Super Smooth To Me. Although I Wouldnt Mind The Gen 4 As Well. Good Guns None The Less. Very Reliable.
is it just me and I have small hands but on the Gen 4 my finger gets pinched on the trigger guard the gen-5 not so much the reason why I don't own a G4 is because it's uncomfortable to hold.
I’ve said it in other videos but I prefer gen 4 all day💯 the finger grooves are really nice as well that’s just my preference though all in all they’re GLOCK both guns are bad ass🥃

We do occasionally get a question about the "Show Clear" - here is why: We (and other channels like ours) do that for a purpose, it is because there are different reasons people come to UA-cam. Some come purely for entertainment (which is great), but many are new to firearms and come to UA-cam to learn. As safe handling procedures are the most important factor of dealing with firearms, reinforcing it is important. An inexperienced shooter viewing our videos (or others with similar mindset) will be reminded of the need to be very aware of the state of the weapon in addition to following the other safety procedures. Every once in a while you hear of somebody being shot by an "unloaded gun" (obviously it wasn't) or during the cleaning procedure. Hopefully reinforcing the need to clear a weapon that is going to be handled for a reason other than actually firing it may educate somebody and prevent a tragedy.
You didn't mention the guide & spring difference on both guns. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Gen 4 having a polymer guide rod as opposed the Gen 5 upgraded steel guide.

Why I heard is that a 3rd party "Content Reviewer" went rogue and applied their own personal agenda rather than the official UA-cam policies. I see that they fully restored the channel with all subs/videos in place. I am actually willing to give the benefit of the doubt and if they put polices in place to prevent future abuse then we move on. Though they are ultimately responsible for the actions of their agents, I will judge based upon how they handle the event and prevent future occurrences.
I wish that was true, my friends, I really do. But it's not. Google's UA-cam hired the *Southern Poverty Law Center* as their content reviewer. They are a well known anti-extremist organization, not a tech company content reviewer. But they're often extremist against what they _believe_ is extremism.

While on the one hand they support illegal immigrants and LGBTs against intolerance, they also believe _all_ gun owners are white supremacists. Google & UA-cam knew this. Ironically, these "enlightened ones" are using despotic methods themselves to achieve their agenda. Yesterday's downtrodden are today's autocrats. Humans never seem to learn true tolerance on _any_ side. A sad state of affairs.

Simple, gen 4 19 & gen 5 17
I have a new Gen 5 G19 and G34 mos and a G19 gen 4 FS and a gen 4 g17. I think so far with the amount I have fired them the Gen 5 trigger is far superior not by pull weight but all around better break and so far stock is just fine. The gen 4 models all have apex triggers much better. All in all so far Gen 5 is great at this time.

I have over 500 rounds through my Gen 5 and my barrel doesn’t have that kind of wear on it.
That is interesting. We have a 19x, I will be watching to see if that one does it.
I found gen5 tad bit accurate than gen4 . I also polished the safety plunger with flitz because it seemed as if was hanging up which with a few hundred rounds it would have wore in . I also changed the connector to 3.5 and sights of course . So far no malfunctions of any kind . I would compare more to 19c as far accuracy, even out 25 yards and beyond without the load report . I haven't touched anything on mine and it feels fine. I just dry fired the shit out of it over the winter and then took it to the first competition I could get into about a month ago.

The 50BMG and Full-Auto footage in the intro is Shooters World. The rest as it is actually a Shoot Straight range. Similar, clean and air-conditioned ranges though I will say that Shooters World is the nicest ranges around here.
So are the gen 4 and gen 5 barrels interchangeable?
There may be some limited interchangeability but not entirely as they have made some changes to normalize the barrels across the Gen 5s. it would take some research to determine exactly which combinations can be successfully interchanged.
Which trigger u prefer the 4 or 5 gen ?
Personally I (Striker) prefer the Gen 4 with a "minus connector" due to the short crisp wall. Hammer prefers the Gen 5 because the wall is a bit "softer" (same trigger weight but a bit of creep at the break makes it feel softer).
It will really come down to which feels better when you pull the trigger.

Just ordered a Gen4 19 FS after trading in a couple others. Can't handle the cutout on the bottom of the Gen5 frame. Dunno what they were thinking there. Great for chewing up the pinky.
Hammer hates that cutout - my finger just misses it.
@@HammerStriker I could see it (and the flared magwell) on the 17 and DEFINITELY the 34. But the 19 is meant to be somewhat small and concealable. Makes it uncomfortable (for some of us) and more printing potential.
I agree even though my hand doesn't hit it, it just isn't needed or useful. Nobody strips a mag by grabbing it the way you would need to for the cutout anyway.
Wear on barrel doesn't matter at all it gets no worse. Thousands of rounds through mine, no more wear on it at all

I wasn't a fan of the Gen 3 or Gen 4, the Gen 5 was compelling enough for me to buy it over the Sig or the CZ that I had initially planned on buying.
I dont think Gen 5s have enough changes to have be called Gen 5. Great video
Thank you. I had hoped they would bring forward the serrations/sights as that seems to be one of the things that many people don't like on the Gen4 and below.

Cut out and one pin on Gen 5s turn me off. I’ll stick with the Gen 4s and hope Glock goes back to 3 pins on gen 6
Should've bought the 19 X. And now that Mr G. Glock is dead, maybe the Gen 6 with ergonomic grips will come soon ❓

One thing I really don't like on the newer mags are the orange follower... really really don't like that... it just screams "hey I'm out of ammo"... not a fan, and most wondernine polymer guns use those colored followers now... If I'm out of ammo and the slide locks back then I really really really don't need anyone to see I'm releasing the slide on an empty magazine!... no no...the bad guy doesn't need to see that bright orange follower, and no it's NOT a safety feature and it's NOT a stupid replacement for actual gun safety...
If your magazine, whether it be a 10 or 15 shot, is empty and you've not hit anything then I don't think the color of the follower is the biggest issue. And how would an attacker be close enough to see the color anyway and wouldn't the slide being all the way back and you dropping the mag out be more of an indicator than what color the follower is?
