My friend owns a CEF50 bike. It's light. 19.2 kg in size large, with a 700 Wh battery. Looks cool. Doesn't cost a fortune. I think he paid like 2 grand for a whole bike. Has no speed limit out of the box. Downsides are that the M820 motor is quite underpowered at lower RPM. Something similar to a TQ or Fazua. But can't compete with Bosch or Brose. Frame doesn't have any anti rattling foam. So you need to put it in yourself if you care about rattle. Also, the 700 Wh battery that came with the bike severely limits power output on the last 20%.
Ya know what would be cool - a company that made *bolt in* adapters so you could run, say... a Bafang motor in a frame with a Bosch motor mount (and back and forth from company X bolt/mounting pattern to Company Y bolt/mounting pattern.
If you have the time and resources, you could make one. I think there are adaptors but I am not 100%. There is a market for people wanting to swap out old Bosch/Shimano motors with say a Bafang. The problem with swapping motors is the battery. You would find it difficult swapping a frame made for say a Bosch Powertube battery with a Bafang. A solution may be to DIY a battery, but then your risking fire etc. The quicker they make an Emtb motor mount standard, the better for the consumer.
It looks like the BXT-EMTB-217 is the strongest carbon frame (T1000). How accurate is that figure and which frame is the manufacturer trying to copy? Is this the most viable option for a safe, strong carbon frame emtb?
I can't confirm personally whether the BXT-217 is T1000 Toray carbon. But the Exess E-Cross is. Most other carbon frameset emtb options listed range between T700-T800. And in some cases, the front triangle is T800 and the rear is T700 or vice versa👍🏿
Its the wire harness/loom and battery lower mount. Darfon uses a different battery mount and wire harness compared to Shimano. Essentially once you've installed one of them into the frame, you can only use that specific battery. I'll clarify on that in upcoming content👍🏿
Apologies for the delay. The Hau Shan frame from Markhor is specific for the Bafang M620 (160nM) and M630 (250nM). Whereas the Kunlun is specific for the M510 (95nM), M600 (120nM) or M560 (130nM). Also, the Kunlun is the 1st emtb Markhor have made which is Carbon. Previous models (Hau Shan & Rocket) are alloy. The geometry also differs. Essentially, the Kunlun is more modern👍🏿
Hi Neeko, thank you again for a very useful video. I also test different electric bikes from China, and one of the frames in your review really interested me - bxt 217. In the description of this frame it is written that it is compatible with the original battery Bafang BT F010.D672.C (48V-14AH), but in your video you say that you can put a 840 watt/h battery there. Can you send a link or the name of this battery?
Good question. The short answer is, yes. You can use the standard Bafang BT-F010. However, those batteries aren't as readily sourceable aftermarket compared to Dengfu's battery which is the same in terms of dimensions. Price between the two types of batteries vary. But Dengfu's batteries are usually cheaper than Bafang’s batteries👍🏿
@@neekodevinchi Great, I’m glad to hear that, it’s good news. Remember that currently, the Exess HP-E180 can be equipped with a removable 1508 Wh battery at 52 V, and with the original lower link, the bike has 190 mm of rear travel.
Which size do i need for dengfu e82? I am 5 feet 10,8 tall. And how big are you? Waiting for the Luna x3 but i Just found s m l AS the sizes of the Last generations
I'm 6foot 3inches. So i would fit the XL. At 5foot 10.8inches, you're in-between the medium and large. Because the seat tube angle is steeper than the E10, you may want the large. But depending on your riding style, you may prefer a smaller/nippyer handling bike. Not sure if Luna will use the E82 frame. However, I'm sure their are better (and cheaper) ways to source the E82 in Europe (frameset or fully built). Dengfu do have a European distribution network called Carbon Cycle via eBay. As for the Ludi controller, I'm aware that it is exclusively Luna. Hey Neeko great content! I see you were reviewing a CF-52 mtb frameset. @ about 14min. on your video. I have had one of those frame sets for almost 2 years & have never seen anything about them at least someones opinion of them like yourself.
