- It's been a while since I've swung a leg over an alloy frame emtb which uses the Bafang system😅
The Vitus E-Mythique LT 297 is marketed as a capable "enduro-esk" EMTB, boasting modern geometry and a capable chassis at an affordable price. Powered by the Bafang M510 and a 630wh battery, could this bike "Truly" keep up with the rest of the 2024 emtbs?
Only time will tell. But I'll share my thoughts, opinions and experiences. So keep a watchful eye on upcoming content✌🏿

This is looking like the bike to buy.
Great video Neeko! Really looking forward to the video covering the Go+ app. Not a lot of info out there on it.
Keep a watchful eye👍🏿
Thinking of buying the VRS version of this.
Great video 🙏

I got one of those in the CRC sales just before they went into administration. It was alright for 5 rides, then one day it just wouldn't turn on. Went through all the documented troubleshooting steps but no luck, it ended up going back under warranty. Unfortunately CRC deemed the bike unrepairable and refunded me, so I went and got a Mondraker Chaser instead. Hope you have better luck/reliability with yours 👍
I appreciate your concerns. Truth be told, I can service and repair the motor. So that's not a concern for me. But I do appreciate that others have encountered a similar problem. So I'll do what I can to provide support for others👍🏿
Thanks Neeko but I will take my home built BBSHD 52v 20 amp-hr 1700w builds any day of the week. I hate proprietary batteries with low voltage and limited capacity but it may have its place judging by where you are riding.
Thanks for all the great content.
I appreciate your comment👍🏿
The Bafang m620 really prefers 52v as well. It actually runs cooler at the same Wattage, if supplied more than 48V. And yeah, anything less than 20Ah doesn't get so far at any notable assist level... 1000Wh is a _minimum_ for large riders wanting more than a sprinkling of assist on long rides.
630Wh would be great for a sporty boost, for less than 40 minutes... 🤏
On the other hand, I do find that running even a power-hungry 48V m620 at a very modest level of assist, allows easy flat-land riding for _much_ longer than I can stay on a saddle; literally a week of riding... unless I use more assist, at all, ever, in which case see above.
I am not impressed with the energy density versus weight\dead-space of 21700 cells & will be looking to build a 3KWh 52V pack of 18650 cells, when our two 1KWh packs become aged.
I used to think like that, and I myself have a bbshd with a 48v battery, and while it does the job, it's like owning an F1 car, I find myself constantly tinkering with it, which I do like, but it does become a pain, when you just want to jump on it and go.
And for that reason I have just ordered one of these bikes it was a bargain half the cost for the mid spec one.
Also with the bbshd you will have chain line issues as well as other things, plus it ain't cheap with a battery you will be near a grand.
@@acelectricalsecurity Yeah, a frame _designed_ for a mid drive motor, makes for a much lower maintenance "home built" ebike!
Another informative video, it may be worfh pointing out that vitus, chain reaction & wiggle may not survive the administration situation they are in. If this is the case then parts & warranty may become an issue in the the uk, and owners would need to source parts internationally .My son had had this bike the ride was great but the bike was returned due to motor issues, looking forward to the next update .
Good points you've raised👍🏿
Perhaps I should film a complete strip down of the bike and explaining where to source specific parts (frame & ebike system) outside of Wiggle and/or Chain Reaction👍🏿
That would be very useful & interesting , i think that a lot of vitus owners will need some good reference material to keep the elecrtronics working. the go+ app is very useful with mapping & some parameter setting but doesn’t totally replace the Besst tool. you’ve helped me a lot over the last 2 years & i enjoy your frank & honest reviews.@@neekodevinchi
@@neekodevinchi Oh yes such video would be most appreciated! Will you be making one explaining how to hack the motor as well?
Hm, that's a fairly short chainstay! That frame looks nice. (Nice to see some good parts on it, too!) I always fear there will be flex when I see no horizontal connection between the seatstays before reaching the rocker though... I think you ride harder than I; have you ever experienced rear end wiggle when a rear wheel steps out on choppy ground, on any of these frames you've shown us? Which rear triangle feels stiffest to you, horizontally?
You always show bikes with nice geometry. I wish Frey would send you a Dopamine, so we could hear how you feel it compares to the E-Mythique LT!
Apologies for the delay Prophet.
So far, I haven't noticed any torsional flex from the rear end on the E-Mythique. The same is true on my CEF50. But I'll share my findings if my opinion changes.
It's funny you should bring up the Frey Dopamine. Keep a watchful eye on upcoming content👍🏿

Great video, very informative! Im looking for a E-bike however the vitus doesn't fit my budget. Do you have any recommendations on a sub 2.5k e-bike? i was looking at the "On time Phantom" it would be great if you are able to give me your opinion on this bike :) Thanks!
Apologies for the delay. I personally don't have experience with this bike. However, I know the motor and system very well.
As such, I have made an enquiry to my colleagues and community members to see whether they've had any experience with the Phantom.
I'll update you with what they say. But please feel free to join the M620/M630 group on Facebook👍🏿

@neekodevinchi thanks a lot! I was also wondering weather there is a big enough difference between the bafang M600 and M620, is the difference big enough to go for the M620? Again thanks a lot for your help!!
I just bought the mid spec one for £2300, from chain reaction but they only have the XL in stock
@@sohamnirantare1827 Definitely a lot of power from the m620; not sure what other motor I'd even compare it to (m630? haven't seen it yet)
Neeko, I've watched several hill climb comparison test where this motor doesn't perform as well as the Bosch. Can the the 510 motor be tuned to make as much or more than the Bosch. Thanks Neeko.
I'll get back to you on that. I have performed brief tests between the E-Mythique with the M510 against my Whyte E160 with the Bosch Gen4. But the variables (tyres, gearing, rear travel, weight and state of charge of the batteries), became apparent.
Bear with me whilst I eliminate as many variables as possible. And I'll perform tests comparing Bosch and Bafang on camera👍🏿
@@neekodevinchiThis gets me back to the concept of a frame with a modular shoe to mount various motor brackets to, so that an otherwise identical bike could get a Bosch «» Bafang motor swap for an apples to apples comparison.
Always eager to hear hill-climb results!
Hi Neeko. I need to check tomorrow but my bike came with a v3 controller. I think connecting the app has wiped all settings to 0 (although possibly after waiting a few seconds some settings did come back but they didn’t look right). I saw your post on one of the forums too. Is there any fix or workaround for this as it seems I’ll now be worse off?
Hi James, are you sure your settling are at 0?.
When you connect the besst tool to the motor or display, you need to click 'read'. This will load the current settings saved on the motor (controller).
Also, which software are you using. For the E-Mythique and the 2023 M510 motors, you need to use Besst Pro (not besst).
Any problems, pm me and I can walk you through "step by step" to re-tune the motor👍🏿
@@neekodevinchi sorry in my late night panic I probably wasn’t clear enough.
My e-mythique came with a dcp245 v3 as standard, not the v2 like in your video. When I connected it to BAFANG Go+ it seemed to wipe all settings to 0 (as per your post on the EMTBN forums and as others mentioned) so I started to panic as it seemed Go+ restricted what you could change your settings to as opposed to Vitus tuning.
However today, I’ve tried to copy your settings from the end of your video and it seems to have taken them. The only thing I can’t change is percentage of assistance but wondering if that’s baked in?
I probably will never know without Besst.
Great video by the way, sorry I should have said before but as I said, in a late night panic! Looking forward to more, particularly if you find a battery that fits.
Presumably one could swap the stock motor for one of Bafang's more "potent" motors?
Hypothetically, yes. But that's not to say the E-Mythique LT was designed to be used with more powerful motors like the M600 or M560.
I'll explain more in upcoming content. But this frame will probably use the M510 motor only, throughput my ownership👍🏿
@@neekodevinchiWait, are the mounting points on the frame the same dimensions?! I didn't know that
The giant m620 seems to use a bigger bracket; right? Are the other Bafang mid drives all using the same size mount?
Hey Neeko… having issues switching on the e mythique at the moment had it 5months say.. have you had this issue at all? If so any simple fixes?
Hi there. Yes, I have had a similar issue (very annoying and unexpected).
Surprisingly, the problem goes away if I take the battery out and leave it for an hour.
I wouldn't mind stripping the bike to unearth the issue. However, my guess is that the lower mount is the culprit. Sometimes when I insert the battery, I can hear a spark and on those occasions, that's when I notice that the bike doesn't turn on.
The only recommendation I can provide at this time is to inspect the 6 pins from the lower mount, clean them with a microfiber cloth and insert the battery (gently) so that it inserts straight and flush with the mount. The bike should turn on. But I'll update everyone once I've uncovered the problem👍🏿
Okay so it’s tripping? Something like that.. I think water is a problem on these aswell.. I’ve been wiping down the bike after rides but need to use water occasionally specially after winter rides… will try your solution and hopefully it helps … appreciate
When comes the the e 55 Video?
Next video. The Dengfu E55 Performance Test👍🏿
@@neekodevinchiDo you get more Power with the eggrider compared to stock?
Does anyone have an update about Vitus, have they gone bust ?
CRC & Wiggle (the main ways you buy Vitus bikes) are no longer in a position to honour warranty or support on Vitus' products. So anyone who is buying/owns a Vitus bike/ebike, will need to find alternative ways to source components proprietary/specific to their bikes.
Moving forward, Vitus *WILL NOT* be releasing any new bikes for the foreseeable future👍🏿
How long is the cable between the display and the remote Neeko?
What do you mean by remote?
330mm long👍🏿
@@neekodevinchi What is the "remote" in this context? The mode controls?
Yeah, the control switch on the left side on the handlebars👍🏿
@@neekodevinchi Thanks for that👍 I plan on using 800mm handlebars with Sram brakes with matchmaker clamps
Despite the fact that this is a mainstream emtb with the bafang motor, it sure looks like its quickly fallen into the "DIY" emtb camp. I've read multiple reviews and testimonials saying that the motor's keep on failing and parts for the battery are difficult to buy. And to add insult to injury, NO WARRANTY. Personally, I think this ISN'T worth buying or upgrading (even if it dropped in price).
I'd still like to see what upgrades and motor tuning you do to the e-mythique. but I seriously doubt that anyone will buy this anymore.
I appreciate your comment. And I do see your point.
I suspect many will be nervous to buy this particular bike (especially with CRC & Wiggle no longer trading and those who aren't as familiar with the Bafang System, in terms of sourcing components elsewhere).
However it hasn't escaped my notice that many who are associated with the DIY emtb frameset crowd have purchased these bikes, with the intention of using different Bafang motors and using more powerful batteries. Essentially, many of us just wanted the frame.
Keep a watchful eye as I'll be demonstrating what can be done with this frame when it's equipped with a more powerful system👍🏿
Can you install a throttle on this bike?
Technically, yes. But the wire harness/loom would need to be swapped out👍🏿
36v 630wh!?🤔
Meh!!!!
Lol. You do make me laugh Ruban😄👍🏿
👍🏽
Hey Neeko, I bought the VRX before Wiggle and Vitus went belly up, but the bike no longer powers on. The last thing I did was wash it so I'm suspecting some water has got in. In the absence of a warranty, whats the best way to engage with you?
Sincere apologies for the delay.
Where are you based and am I able to take a look at it?
