Scientific theories are not, by definition, mutually exclusive, unlike religious belief systems. The "gods" of absolutist states are their leaders, so Marx plus Lenin or Mao or Kim whoever. Hope your refutation of logical thought are more considered in your book son. If they're not perhaps you'd do better listening and thinking than laughing smugly, and publishing. Just a thought(I'm an atheist, so I'm allowed to think)
@@brianbolger6313 none of your most important theories add up after hundreds of billions spent. To a thinking person, that means they're wrong. Relativity is clearly wrong. Evolution is clearly wrong. DNA is proof of design based on math.

This is why Joe Rogan couldn't write a book that wouldn't read exactly like any book from any atheist in existence. Can you name one famous book by an atheist? How about the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx?

Not even 100 years after the inception of a government based in atheism, over 100 million people starved to death in Communist Russia between the 1940's and 1970's. Communist China needs child labor and corner cutting in production to keep up with nations founded in religion.
After 160 years, where is any proof atheism is better in education, workplaces, or even governments? What metrics are you measuring from? I have plenty of stats to defend religion...

The structure and behavior OF DNA is therefore mathematically describe-able. This is informative of the origins and purpose of mathematics, but not of the proteins so described. I deduce, perhaps unreasonably, that a little honesty would prove a more useful tool for you than the vituperative rhetoric you attempted to employ above. If reason is truly your aim try, like any good scientist, to fault and refute your own argument. If you, honestly, cannot see the flaws then trumpet it publicly. But, please, don't put words in my mouth or anyone else's just you can argue against them.

The math of DNA says a coin was flipped over 999 quadrillion times and always landed on heads. This is called empirical proof of design. And then, your DNA can hold electronic information better than any device man can make. Once again, proof of design to those that understand magnetism and information transfer...

It's a total disregard and dismissal of the historicity of Jesus Christ vs the lack thereof for the other 100+ gods. It's a word game atheists high five each other with w/o making an actual point.
@Kenny Bugh one can make statements that on their face seem true, but because of categorical conflicts are in fact not true. To conflate an atheist’s position on a thousand topics from creation, sin, morals, law, or even having a metaphysic that even supports the intelligibility of these arguments/assertions with that of any theist is categorically different from comparing theists to theists and the same would bode for theists to polytheists. Crossing or whistling past categories does not a truth make. It would all actually be logically incorrect yet your claim was that there are “logically correct”; I guess in so far as you reject logic. Which by the way an atheist really has no metaphysic to ground that in to begin with.

Like why the mad toddler routine, if you truly believe these things? The extra emotion, and complete lack of depth, suggests that no one ever challenges him to think logical about this. That's the wrong framing, as you should know, since it's not 999 and then a 1000th... it not even 9,999 and then a 10,000th... It's not about the *AMOUNT* of claims, it's about the *equality* of the claims. Put another way, the jew when asked who is right and wrong, he'll say "The Jews are right, the rest are wrong", the Muslim when asked who is right and wrong, he'll say "The Muslims are right, the rest are wrong", the Christian when asked who is right and wrong, he'll say "The Christians are right, the rest are wrong"....
the Atheist when asked who is right and wrong, he'll say "I agree with *ALL* them about the rest being wrong". And when asked, what is the actual answer "everything" would reply "I don't know. I haven't been convinced of an answer yet."
So far, there has yet to be *ANY* religion that has produced any kind of *ACTUAL* widely convincing evidence of their claim, otherwise, there wouldn't be such a debate between religions. This is what _Suggests_ but does not "Prove" that at least they are all incorrect about something, if not everything.
"Your task is to explain why they're wrong about their Gods and you are not wrong about yours." - Obviously this only applies if you are one of the "Only my religion is correct and the rest are wrong/mistaken" people as they are the ones making a claim about their religion being correct.

Should we not begin with clarity on what Rogan (and therefore us) are referring to as a home run?
It is to conclude that there is an irresistible inference that one possible answer among 1,000 possible answers *should* be ruled out because 999 out of the 1,000* has* (supposedly) been ruled out. This appears ludicrous. It certainly appears to me to depend on what your presuppositions are. If, for example, you assume there are no right answers - well then you don't have to even look at any of the 1,000. They have been ruled out before even beginning. If you are on the other hand assume or even perhaps know that there is a right answer - well then after the elimination of the 999, you know which is the right answer. And if you are open only to the possibility of there being a right answer, you have to look at all 1,000 before drawing your conclusion.
Have you heard of 'the cup' game? (32 second video) *ua-cam.com/video/9bto_3Z1dqc/v-deo.html* It's not rocket surgery. What is the most number of guesses you require to *know* the answer? On what basis have you concluded differently about the 1,000 possibility question?
You go on to say, *"It's arrogant for you"* It is not clear from your usage that you understand what the word 'arrogant' means. I am not offended by the accusation. First, though, supposing you are correct, and I am in fact arrogant, what does this do to my point? Can an arrogant person not be correct in any truth claim they assert? And secondly, what have I said that causes you to believe that I am arrogant? With due respect to you, it appears you may be the one displaying arrogance. For example, from what statement of mine do you conclude that, *"you to believe in one god"* I don't see from what I've said here that you have any justification for drawing that conclusion. Do you do so because you consider it anathema that an atheist would point out flaws in the reasoning of another atheist?
Further with your comments, *"Why is Krishna or Allah not the real god?"* Where did I say that they aren't? and, *"You are just as wrong about our origin"* What comments are you reading? Where have I said anything about 'our origin'?
I leave it at that for now. I don't think I'll suggest you as an umpire for the world series given your generosity in awarding 'home runs' 🙂

I lost all respect for Dawkins’ logic abilities when I heard him ask, “If God created everything, then who created God?” and acted as though that were a slam dunk argument against God.

And John Lennox replied to Dawkins when he made that statement …”You’re assuming God was created. Well of course any created god is a delusion by definition!

Either you’re ignoring that there must be an “uncaused cause” or, you’re suggesting that “everything” can come into existence from nothing. So if you think Dawkins argument is logically correct then perhaps it’s you that not understanding.
Here’s some more logic for you…whatever caused time/space and matter to exist must itself be something other than time/space and matter.
So my question to you is: why does anything exist at all?

- in order for there to be a cause, there must be an uncaused cause.
- everything exists, therefore there must be an uncaused cause.
The logic underlying their argument is something like this: 1+1 cannot = 2 because it doesn't = 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc. In other words, if there are many incorrect answers to a question (does God exist, which God is real?) your answer can't be true either. Except...1+1 is 2, despite the fact that it isn't 3, 4, 5, 6 or anything else. The appeal to a preponderance of bad answers to a given question doesn't make any other attempt to answer the question wrong in principle. There is a right answer to everything - if you think I'm wrong show me why, don't tell me how many other people have been wrong on the same question. It means nothing.

I'm not a fan of Rogan, but I think he would gladly do it. As hofficated as Joe is, I've definitely seen him be willing to have his beliefs challenged. I think the main issue would arise where we, as believers in the absolute Sovereignty of God and His right to save whom He pleases, differ with other believing Christians. To Joe, it's all about one belief system being favored over another. For the Christian, it ISN'T about having weighed one belief system or religion against another; it's the reality that God apprehended our lives against our fleshly will.
That's something that sounds like absolute foolishness to the unregenerate man.

I’m not sure what changed but it seems like Joe Rogan is occupying that weird space where he’s not willing to be distributors with wealth while also not being a conservative or Christian.
I don’t think he knows of any famous Christian apologetics to bring to the table as well. This is what he thinks and he’s just buying famous people to talk to about it.
Darkens isn’t it same position where he can garner wealth by disagreeing with Christianity but can’t win arguments against focus him which in my opinion is light Christianity. So it seems like people are engaging with arguments they know they can win rather than debating.

Could you ever demonstrate to anyone else this relationship of yours manifests in reality independent of your mind? Because i can tell you all about my relationship with my dad, and to validate that claim I can show you photos, video, dna, hell I can introduce you, so if you want to convince a human in my position that you aren’t just saying words that sound nice to you, you’ll have to produce something tangible, quoting things wont get you there. Because at the very least we aren’t so foolish as to be that easily swayed by an obvious deepity.

it's incredible how much atheists think they know and how prideful they can be about what they think they know. I come from a tribe in Nigeria called the Yoruba who also have a Diluvian origin story that has been shared for many centuries before we met the first Christian. So you mean to tell me that all these unrelated tribes the world over had the same origin story but the atheists choose to get bent out of shape about the one in the bible? Or maybe the best explanation is that the biblical story is true and it's primary purpose to shed light on God's judgment and mercy.
So, why do Hindu's believe in millions of gods? Why is there story so different from yours? Did they get it right or wrong?

I don't think Joe is equipped enough. When it comes to philosophy and religion, he still needs to drink more milk to comprehend the basics of the subject. Hitchens, a brilliant guy, was even caught off guard. And Joe? 😅

This is good Doug....I love that you are dipping into western culture and providing your perspective / reaction. As we reach out to this world people like Joe Rogan and Dawkins are on the minds of those we talk to and setting the example of how to think / respond even in part is helpful. Would love to see more....I know you have other content out there that helps us go deeper into these arguments and world views.
Saw a debate between Dawkins and a Christian apologist a long time ago. And he got absolutely ripped to shreds. That's when I started questioning my atheism.

So what I’m hearing, is that his family failed to explain God to him, and raise him up in the fear and admonition. And when other people brought other religions to him, they failed again to explain heresy to him.
All of this explains why he has the theological depth of a 5 year old. Because he literally was 5 when this happened, and no one discipled him past it, or through it. And then as a grown adult, he never put the work in himself, to seek the truth either. Very sad.

Dawkins' supposition also rejects reality: Time and time again cultures have rejected traditional religions and embraced Christianity. Billions of people throughout history have rejected all sorts of deities to embrace one. Why would they do this? What convinced them that the God of the bible was superior?

Exactly what I always say… if your whole reason to not believe is to essentially have an excuse to say “nothing matters”… then why care about anything at all? In particular why care what someone else believes? I have never mocked an atheist outright upon hearing they are not a believer. Every time… but every time… it’s them who start it. There are millions of males that could have been your biological father. You believe that one is. You don't believe in any but one. How sensible is it for me to suggest that I, believing that you don't have a father is just me believing in one less potential father than you? Or, you believe that 1+1=2. There is an infinite number of wrong answers to that question, eg. 3, 4, 5 ... etc. Does it seem reasonable for me to assert that your belief in 2 being the correct answer is just you believing in one less incorrect answer than me and that therefore it is reasonable to assume that the answer 2 is just as incorrect as all the others on the mere basis that any other 'answer' is wrong?

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I was an atheist for most of my life and I don't think that they even care if the argument makes sense or not, the point is just to mock the "pious Christians" that Joe so despises, as he has mentioned in the past. They want to make Christians feel like "you're no better than me," and they're right, we aren't better people, but I can say that thanks to God I'm better off than I've ever been before, even in my darkest hours.
Joe can prove scientifically who his father is lol. You are believing one improvable thing and shunning a countless amount of other improvable things, which is 1 less then an atheist. Therefore you are closer to an atheist than you might think. Also, i think a lot of atheists are more so on the fence, leaning towards there not being a god, but not confidently holding a solid belief either way

All I am seeing from Dawkins is taking effective arguments to put in to question his position turned around on religious people's. It's quite a trick if you have never heard these leveled before but obvious if you have and they fail to land when turned around. The spear seems to only penetrate one way. The issue with pentacostalism has to do with what spirit we're dealing-with, here. Is it the Spirit of Truth that installs a living, saving faith and real belief in what Jesus says is true and a real trust in Him and His words, or is it another spirit? Any other spirit will deceive. (1 John 4:1). The way to test these spirits is to compare their truth claims to the claims of the Word, since Jesus really lived and taught specific ideations. (Acts 17:11; 1 Thess. 5:21). So, there is a mandate to measure truth claims systematically against Scripture, as the Bereans did. No amount of emotional experience can verify anything factual.
I remember a Pentacostal woman who came into our church service and sat for a while, then got up and proclaimed, "The spirit has left this place," before exiting prior to the sermon. Well, if she's referencing a spirit of emotionalism and irrationality, I certainly hope so. I wish she'd stayed and listened to some exposition of God's Word. But sadly, she didn't.
I was in a conversation with an atheist some weeks ago. He admitted, as did Einstein, that there had to be a First Cause to all that is. But, he denied that a "singularity," or whatever label used, could be known, because there's no common point of reference. I would say that of course we, in ourselves, can't know. We would need a witness, at least. There was a Witness. A man, actually. The means, or sign, by which His word is verified is the "sign of Jonah," as He Himself said. His death, burial and resurrection.
At MIT some years ago, they attempted to "beam" a molecule, and advertised it as "Star Trek" tech. In reality, they used tons of electricity to make a facsimile - proving that all matter must have two elements to exist: data and energy. Or, Word and Power. (John 1:1-5; John 1:14). So, we see an all-knowing, or omniscient Word, and unlimited, or omnipotent Power.
So, we're not talking about fear at all. (2 Tim. 1:7). The spirit of fear is deceptive. And we're not talking about lack of knowledge, either. We're talking about what is known. The Christian faith is inimitably rational. (1 Cor. 15:1-8) (1 Cor. 2:1-2). What's easy to see is the irrationality round-about us. It's not irrational to rely upon eyewitness accounts of the events validating the truth claims of Jesus of Nazareth. There's more historical record of His death, burial, and resurrection than there is of the life of Julius Caesar. Humans either believe Him, or not. But belief can't be spurious. There's lots of broad-path options out there about Him that aren't true. But, He is the only Way. (John 14:6). And few find it. (Matt. 7:13-14).
The very best way to garner attention to yourself is to declare yourself an atheist.

I was an atheist many years ago and I listened to the reasoning of this man. After much research and coming to the conclusion that no other cultures existed without religion I knew it was foolish to think this generation was smarter in anyway. Then I became pagan. When I discovered that evil pervades that I seeked out goodness. One day a opened the Bible and began to read. God was revealed to me that day, through Genesis. Since then I’ve continued reading and have never turned back. I will teach my kids that humans worship false idols for the day someone asks them if they know other religions exist.

As a Christian, I do not deny the _existence_ of other gods, only that they are false gods. Zeus and Odin and the gang, for whatever powers they may yield, are not the very ground of being, as the Christian God is. They are contingent, created beings, as is all else in the cosmos.

Rogan and Dawkins seem giddy at the idea of just telling kids there are many religions, many schools of scientific thought, as if conflating highly variable opinions and contradicting beliefs is a good thing!? God commands the Christian to bring up a child in His Word for a reason, so that child will have a foundation based in Truth that transcends the confusions of man.
And every other religion that has ever existed has made similar claims as do all other religions now. He is merely pointing to the fact that the convince Christians have in their faith is as unsupported as all the others.

I think the fact or highly likely, that all cultures throughout civilization believed in a Higher Power, a Creator, or gods in the heavens, would point to the knowledge of the Creator, that we are created beings & a great starting point for someone to seek out truth which I believe w/ an open heart & definitely prayer leads only to Yahweh, the God of Grace & truth. Whenever someone refers to the writings of Gilgamesh in refuting the Bible I ask them is they have read the writings of Gilgamesh? Or if they have even read the Bible in its entirety? They never have. They are just regurgitating what they have heard someone else say or what they picked up off the internet. Full transparency I’m an atheist. For me, the “Everyone’s an Atheist” argument is really meant to question why one might be so captured by the dogma of one god over all the others. I interpreted Doug’s rebuttal to be an explanation of the difference between belief/non-belief. Though Dawkins does make it sound kind of like the latter.
And a second point: hardly any of these different scientific theories are attached to the threat of eternal suffering if you reject their ideas.
