- Not a review. Not going to do one. Here's a wrap-up of my thoughts on the a9 after three shoots with it.

Ok, thats nice. But.... can you tell me, 2:48 how did he take f4 photos, if the 100-400 GM lens starts from f4.5?
maybe it's 70-200 2.8, no?
evilscilla
hmmm..... 🤔

By the way looking at your photo and personality, I thought you are a pro photography vlogger or something big.
Are you planning to vlog? ☺️
Kai teasing us Nissan guys 😱😱😱
yess nissan for life
NissanPacific Skyline GT-R for life ❤️
Err that's not a GT-R
i see the red badge in the bokeh at 0:36
so glad someone else noticed it :D
When the model is a better photographer than the photographer :D
Damian Brown when the photographer is a better model than the model
Been following your videos for a longgggg time and love it mate. Great energy and humor. Just wanted to say it’s amazing how your fans are loyal after the breakup. We are your Day 1 fans. Thanks man. Appreciate the content. Will be testing this Sony A9 out today to see if I will buy. Thanks
One second in and I see the back of a Nissan Skyline. ;)
kendallarroz k
very nice begining
Turns out it's a Gen 2 240SX
Wasn't it an R33 though?
no one likes those
Love the music and audio all around (in addition to Kai's typical wit)
"I'm just gonna keep my finger on this trigger until either card explodes.. or I do.
Sorry, that sounded wrong."
LMAO
Killed it in this video, Kai. You are really good at what you do!
Kai has a damn stone island jacket.
passportboom he's always wearing stoney
passportboom what's his jeans do u know?
I heard he joined Millwalls firm - loves away days...
Ben Holland fuck millwalls
The A9 video (and jpeg) colours seems like such a huge improvement over the previous Sonys. Skin colours and saturation look really well done.
Kai , You know your shit, I love learning with you, you crack me up! Continue the great work!
Nice portraits of Maria! Great quality photos. Good work!
If this camera can burst raw 24mp files at 20fps, why can't Sony put in raw 4K capture at 24fps? Even if it'd be short clips.
ARXV Photo its the same thing XD
Because nobody who needs 4k raw wouldn't buy a9 (or any Sony camera).
ARXV Photo Then theres no room for A9s and A9s mk ii and so on and so on.
They're holding back to have something in the future knowing they can implement it now, since majority of A9 users are happy on what they can get now.
Branko Mitić your logic for that comes from where exactly? Do you work for Canon? Lol. No one really "needs" anything. We could all be riding horses instead of driving cars too.
ARXV Photo kick a pigeon will ya?
Kai Kardashian @ 5:38 👍
Thicc
Subhadeep Dey Kai's wet dreams.. Haha..

5:44 Blowup!
yaassss hahahaa
Great video Kai!
Ah, you got me cracking up at the model shots Kai. Well done!
I completely enjoy watching Kai's videos. Most other review videos I skip through, not his. I enjoy his knowledge, humour, editing and sound. Excellent videos and a pleasure to watch and learn from.
There's always something unexpected (but not unusual for Kai) in almost every video. And not at the end as well, which is a nice change.
Agreed, he's like the Michael Fisher of Camera guys.
There's some microphone noise at 0:45 . I've noticed this with another UA-camr that use a Sony A7s ii. I wonder if it's the microphone that causes the noise, or it's the Mic-Camera combination.
Loving the video btw :)
Great vid. Back in your digital rev days, you were the reasons I got into photography. Being a 15 year old makes my budget far smaller than most. I have an income of only 20 dollars a week from doing weeding and mowing for my neighbors. Because of this, every purchase I make must be a smart one. My parents wisely put all my birthday and Christmas money into my college savings so I really only have that $20 a week. About two years ago I ended up buying a used canon t3i and a Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3. This allowed me to get the feel for what I enjoy shooting without breaking the bank. Overtime I’ve ended up buying a decent tripod, extra battery, variable nd filter, and some other small things. Now that I have had a good amount of time, I have learned what excites me the most about photography. I love landscapes and portraits. I don’t know if I should stick with my t3i and upgrade to a decent 35mm or if I should do extra work and try to save up for a nicer (possibly mirrorless) camera.
Nick Aspectfull hope u went with the glass cause that is really what matters the most and it will last forever
Nick Aspectfull hey there, this is a bit late, but I'm in the same place as you. As regards body vs. lens, the purchase decision is all up to you. It should depend on what is holding you back. For example, I have a Canon EOS 1200D (basically the same camera as yours I think), and it has crap AF, poor low light ISO performance, a small battery, no articulating screen, no touch. It works well for landscape and daylight shooting in general, but if it's indoors, dark, and close quarters, the performance is terrible.
My opinion is that there are two sets of requirements in photography: what's needed for the camera/image, and what's needed by the photographer. Basically, lenses and filters and lights and so on, are requirements of the camera which captures the image, to improve raw image quality (apart from the creative aspect). The camera body itself, and the features it comes with, are required by the photographer to make their own life easier. I would love faster AF, an articulating screen, and so on, for indoors event shooting. I can shoot without them, but these features would truly reduce the burden on me. The lens doesn't make a marked difference in your workload. It directly affects image quality, and the kind of image you can frame. So, I think you should buy what you think is more pressing: your needs, or your camera's. If you are absolutely having a hard time getting your shots because of the flaws in the camera (e.g. Lots of missed shots because of poor AF performance, or in my case, heavy noise and grain in the image in low light), get a better camera with all the features you need to improve your quality of life. Whereas if your images just don't get that something that you want, because your lens or other kit is limiting your framing, you buy a lens that will do the trick. If you want to shoot astro landscape timelapses, you get as wide a lens as you can, and as fast(aperture) as you can get it. Trying to shoot astro with a telephoto is obviously gonna be a disaster without a track mount and other kit.
Buy what you need exactly at that point. Most professionals already have the most of the glass they use, they buy new bodies to keep up with tech and improve their QoL, and to make their work as easy as possible. In my case, both my kit lenses work perfectly for me, rarely do I need a longer reach or a wider shot for my compositions, but my camera body is severely hampering my shooting. So I'm saving up for a new body. Who knows, I might even switch to Sony/Nikon completely since I have very little invested in Canon glass right now.
Akshay Anand well do as this this guy said he said everything !
Afonso_ sj :)
If you are passionate about something it will always lead to good things. I wont bore you with my personal story but this is so true. Keep it up. Never give up what you are passionate about.
So glad I’m subscribed to your channel. Awesome video
Kai is pretty baller for wearing stone island
Michael Choe and Louis Vuitton belt
Michael Choe he has been wearing even b4 hypebeast started wearing it. Stone island is originally known for actually being a high quality outerwear brand, same thing happened to Canada goose.
Cool video. Like the direction and thoughts.
Hello Kai
i wanna ask your opinion
i'm starting make a travel video and other film, but got limited budget.

Amazing video! Thanks!
British comedy, cameras and kai, great video!
Bro your videos are always great and funny
Hey Kai! Love your videos, I am a starting photographer, and wanted to get into videography. Only problem is my dslr doesn't have a mic input... what do I do?
This wasn't a review? Really?
Love your videos, Kai. Can't get enough! :)
this is my dream camera now 🙏😇
Nice IWC ceramic pilot
Juan Nuñez Kai’s wrist game has always been on point
@@AshishPyala and his stone island game. What the hell!
Loved this video. Great story!
what happen to your trademark camera-almost-fall-down thingy...i missed that alot! i was hoping a9 almost fall down thingy.
Kai W is there a wireless solution to back up photos while I'm doing street photography
Literally snort laughed!😆 Great shoot Kai!
awesome Kai the only funny reviews that are serious.. Cheers
Kai what eyecup is that at 7:10 ? I want to get it but I don't know what brand it is
I absolutely adored the model role reversal you did here with the photo shoot girl BIG TIMES TERRIBLE! You made me laugh, thank you, I needed that. Way too funny! ( ^_^. )
Kai also teasing the alfisti at the end with that beautiful red 159 TI :D
you have the most amazing looking video and images on youtube and it really makes me want to invest in something good
kai, what eyecup is that at 7:10 ? i can't find it anywhere.
Haha this is perfect! Such a wonderful job... as usual!!! ;) I wish I could watch new vids from you everyday Lol! I'm also loving the high quality content. I think you are definitely getting better and better! I'm already on the edge of my seat for what's next!! Keep it up and don't stop!! Have a spectacular day!!! :)
this one is bloody good episode kai, nicee
What was that camera next to you with the waist level view finder?
Can you do a Mavic pro review. I'm thinking of getting one in the future
The RX100V shoots full-res Raw+JPEG at 24fps with AF and AE, which IS video... well after some post-processing... Of course in reality it's just too many images to wade through and 10fps is much more sensible.
BTW is the Top Gun Chrono out of Schaffhausen or somewhere much further east?
I love this guy. Sony a9 is the game changer. Mirrorless is the future
Both the camera and model are wow... even Kai...
Nice review thingy Kai. One of your better videos. Definitely enjoying the quality edits on this one.
Love the Nikon F at the back:)
Hows 4k slow motion on the A9? what lense you like?
Which lens is this? I am going to buy Alpha 9 II tomorrow
Dude, I watch you just for entertainment value now. Big love ;)
How about you give us a review of that Nissan R33 in the beginning of the video Kai?!
Already preordered one!
Kai - Ever consider doing some watch reviews? That IWC Pilot Top Gun looks good!
Most watch reviewers are pretty dull...I think your voice/personality would be a welcome change.
Which lenses did you use?
Will you never do a Panasonic Review? Like the G85 or GH5 :D?
I may not be the biggest fan of Kai's buffoonery, but that was a great video with excellent editing and creative cuts and concept.
What about using Lexar 300mb/s cards? I use those and have no problems writing to card.
Damn Kai, rocking the IWC? You've gotta do a video about your seemingly endless watch collection.
Great review Frank
Kai... Your alright man. The best camera guy on youtube.
Now I want an Arri with all the trimmings. I couldn't use it, but I could look at it all day,
Which microphone do you use?
i wanna get an A9 but, if an A9R or A9S is coming soon, should i wait?
whats the red and black/blue thing hanging off the camera
So, any info how much it will cost?
Kai Man Wong doing some 7d shit right there. ahhh the memories.
Which lense is that u r using
Is that an IWC on your wrist Kai?
A9#1 Love it :) cool video Kai
I agree
What camera lens is that and does anyone know the price?
Kai when are you coming back to the US?
Kai, you rule!
Spotted the Peak Design quick releases... love the way their strap is so easily removable.
What camera is that at his desk?
I don't know how big you ego is, but that was another great video. Thank you Kai
that nikon on the desk though UGH :))))
Sony needs to do something about their cameras overheating, it's becoming their reputation now.
Hard to beat physics! They could add a fan for the heat!
@@twosawyers If our phones can avoid overheating I don't see a reason why sony would need to go to active cooling
@@Zolanis1 your phone has copper heat pipes and in some cases thermal paste and a drop of water.
Sony needs to increase the size of the camera by a bit
CycleCruza. 👍
*You had me at explode!*
Love Kia 3.0 2017 edition. Keep killing it and entertaining.
Kai is a DL hypebeast
Oi Kai.. for a beginner what camera I should buy?
Phase One IQ3
lol
Funny guy, I always enjoy your reviews, all great, can you just tell me what watch you are wearing here, looks nice too, Many thanks again
Kai is that your s14 ?
Kai and his love for stone island
That electronic shutter would be a god send for weddings and on set BTS photography!
Eric Lefebvre it must have a lot of grain for sure!
I'm not sure what you are saying here.
Grain? I did mention noise performance. I was saying that the electronic shutter would be great for shooting wedding ceremonies where the loud clack of a mirror flipping out and a mechnical shutter activating can be ... aggravating.
When shooting "behind the scenes" stills on a film set you also can't be making tons of noise as it is *a: distracting* and *b: could pollute the on set audio* so this electronic shutter would help with on set BTS.
Give us a watch collection video plsss
Good review, I like the camera.
Hi Kai!!!!
I almost gagged when I saw Kai in a dress X'D
Insta like!
Haha. Awesome shoot. I laughed my ass off while learning something...
I had the same day dream as yours Kai.
"Let me be Frank... No I'll still be Kai" 😂
Advice for first camera: I shoot dance videos both on stage and both run and gun (Salsa social dancing) 80D, Sony alpha 6500 or Panasonic g85?
Paulo A. Carvalho You edit your videos and need low light performance? 6500. You don't edit and need long one shot videos? Record videos in good light and know where to get cheap old lenses? G85. You need more than 2 hr of footage without the need of extra batteries? Also need good overall pictures? 80D
nice video. i do find the white balance to be kinda shit on the a7 II indoors often it gives that horrible yellow tint that reminded me of the older rebel dslrs canon fixed that a bit more on their later cameras but i guess sony just hasnt catched up. oh well you can add custom white balance temps so i just added a nice looking one for indoors at night and there ya go!
hey, canon, do you see that?
Kai always makes it. 😅
Wait you have a R33?
Hahahaha.. that photoshoot w the dress on... Classic Kai! Or should I say.. cross dressing Kai....
