@@samswildgarage8805 I haven't watched it yet but its book marked. My issue right now is that I'm installing just a driver seat, and keeping the 06 center console which has brackets that are in the way. Do you have any suggestions for that issue, if you can picture what I'm trying to say?
@@FremontIII ok so half the jump seat should remain mounted to the passenger seat and for the jump seat to mount to the driver seat you will need to order two brackets from dodge the part numbers are in the description of this video

Hey bud, would your wiring harness make the cool work as well as the heat? I have 2017 ram leather seats. I do not have heat on my 2003 2500, but I can get wiring for 3rd gen with heat out of wrecking yard
unfortunately no! you will need to wire in auxiliary switches for the coolers you can tie into the seat movement power, to run the coolers as it's a big enough fuse

In other words no heat, no passenger power??? I have already spliced in to drivers factory power, & ran a jumper to passenger under carpet, & have all basic power functions working. Also think I can get cool working off my jumper & splice in. Any way I can get my heat working without having to gut another 2002-2005 heated seat wiring harness? Then do what you did?or is that The only way to get factory heat working? Also which harnesses do I need off a 2002-2005? Do I have to go all the way back to the one behind the dash. My truck does have a fuse for heated seats. Zero factory wires on passenger side
@@samswildgarage8805 That is correct. I ndo have the 2003 factory heat switches from another gas Dodge I had years ago. Hoping to use the factory switches and somehow wire them direct to seats. My 2003 2500 truck did not come with heated seats or the switches. So the truck does not have the wiring in dash to plug heated seat switches in. Just curious if there is a way I can get the pigtails for the dahs switches, & wire directly to my 2017 Laramie seats for heat.
@@jdcontracting1805 the problem is that everything is over complicated i tried to do that originally and use the factory switches to run the newer seat driver, but it just caused the switches to flash an error code the switches have many signals going to and from basically the only thing i used from the new seats was the heat elements and temp sensor i only left the seat module on for the movement and just tied in power to run factory switches you would need all the wiring and the seat controller from a 2003-2004 ram that had heated seats
Im planning of swaping 4th gen steering wheel on my 3rd gen. I Know it fits but i need to find how to wire the cruise ?! I Know it can work a Guy did it on reddit but seems to be a ghost now no explaination of how he did it !
@@samswildgarage8805 i actually ended up doing it last weekend, and it works ! everything works theres some modfication to be done with conectors and wiring for the cruise and airbag to work. if you have some future questions hit me up. My truck is a 2003 3500 5.9 cummins, and i already had the 04+ steering wheel swapped in so it should be the same
@@ericreno4501 same here, my 03 2500 SLTcame with manual seats, but had the power seats plug. I put '15 power seats in it, wiring was no problem and the seats pretty much bolt in.
@@samswildgarage8805 thanks again for your video. I installed Laramie leather seats. It makes the truck look 10 years younger. I installed them similar to you, with the lesser leg room and better seat back angle but I did it slightly different. Instead of cutting the front of the metal bracket, I installed a 1" spacer at each bolt. Worked out well. For the front, I am thinking of installing a 45l refrigerator / freezer from Iceco.

@@dcheynerl ya so you can take power from the drivers seat to power passenger seat. T into the big black wire and big pink wire and send it to the yellow plug on the passenger 4th gen seat
Appreciate the reply. Mine is a 2004 3500. Made the mistake of buying a 1500 interior from a 5th Gen. That won't bolt up without a lot of fabrication. Decided to sell it. Putting it out there so others don't make that same mistake.

they are for the 4th gen! but you can probably drill holes in them for the third gen jump seat

yes you can mount the seats but you will need to do more wiring

My 03 Hemi with manual seats still had the plug just as my 03 2500 does so you shouldn’t have to do much

where did you tether the end of the 3rd gen shoulder belt that was originally bolted to outside of the seat?
the same place as on the old seat

2007.5 slt, only the drivers seat is power, passenger seat is manual. the new 2014 seats both have power adjustments and are heated
