Great video. I’ll be attempting this in my 06 megacab soon. I have heated and cooled black leather seats and was trying to figure out the heated and cooling before I started. You did half the work. Thank you.
@@bradjones4440 yes, we dont have the same module as the 03-05 trucks. I directly wired in the to the same wires stated in this video. the control board is linked into the factory switches. it works but its a lower heat than I know it can get. Eventually I will figure out other options but for now it dows work and gets warm but not hot. Hope this helps
I bought a 2004 heated seat module, will it work in a 2009 dodge though. The pickup is a slt but I put in the factory heated seat switches for it and a different floor harness. The heated seat switches just blink but that’s probably because I don’t have the floor plug going to any heated wiring.
yes the switches will blink if there is any problem with the system i dont know if a 2004 module will work in an 09 i would think you might be able to use the module from the newer seats because 2009 had can-bus system
I would be super interested to see a diagram that was labeled more like which colored wires represent which feed (heat powe from truck.. heat power to seat) or something that might help me with my wiring them up onto the 06 dodge.. there is no module under the seat like in your truck, the module is integrated into the heated seat button so there’s just a heated seat power feed under the drivers seat that needs to be directed somewhere and im having a hard time finding where to connect it to
ya i would have to figure it out for the newer trucks that use can-bus system i dont have access to a 2006-2009 ram at this point but if i get the chance i will make something for that generation
Hey. Great video. I have a 4th gen Ram 1500 manual. Could I convert it to power seat? Would it be plug and play? I see a yellow connector from the car I assume powering the air bag.
Hey man. Awesome videos. Im doing this to my 03 truck, didnt have factory heat. (SLT) but it currently has heated seats from an 08 that arnt currently hooked up. My question is can i still do this using the 08 modules in my 2014 heated and cooled seats? Also do i need yo get that seat switch panel? Thanks
What if I'm adding seats full power and heated to a truck that was non heated or power but want to add factory heaters and switches? What needs to be done to accomplish this?
you will need to make your own wiring harness you probably would be better off buying a seat heater kit and then just wiring it to the factory elements in the new seats

Thanks for the great video. I am looking at getting 4th gen Laramie seats for my 3rd gen SLT. Would you know if the cooling function requires a module like the heating function, or should I be able to wire it in directly? You mentioned in comments below that airbags can be unplugged. Do you know if they can be made to be functional by wiring power to them? Or does the harness feed power to them?
@@jackprick9797 cooling is just 12v power and a switch. you can add a relay if you want but its not a huge draw. Hey I’ve installed 4th gen seats on my 3rd gen but the buckle chime is coming on & I’ve been using ur vid of how to make the auto seats work. My question is if I connect the buckle wires work with just power & ground?
I’m going to install 4th gen seats in a 2005… I have factory heated system but the 4th gen seats have heated and cool… would everything still work the same as of for the plugs… also are the plugs from the 3rd gen seat the same as the 4th gen as like the seat belt etc… you kinda making look like it’s plug and play except the heated components
all the seat wiring and module from the third gen seats. the elements from the fourth gen seats for the movement of the seats you just hook up the power wires to the fourth gen seat module the belts i swapped the buckles from the third gen seats to the fourth gen seats

Sam I have a 3rd gen harness for heated seats and the wires on the plug going to the floor is different colors they are 2 reds with blue strip are them the right ones
Can you tell me what year you found for the seats? The local salvage yards where I live are telling me the 4th gen seats have airbags in them and it can go off and cause the end of the world because I didn't listen to them...
my seats are from a 2013 ram 1500 sport they do have air bags. but if you unzip the back of the seat you can unplug the wire directly from the airbag. they will not go off without power
Mines an 07 SLT 3500. I’m wonder if I could just piggyback off the wiring under the jump seat? Looks like there’s a plug there that might connect to a harness for the p/seat.
I have a late 3rd gen laramie and the passenger seat heater plug is different, it is green with two wires. I can cut the wires for the plug and hard solder , how would i know which wires to solder?
I am interested in power passenger seat. So I need to keep any of the passenger side harness to have that function? My 4th gen megacab rear seats are heated. Any tips to get those working on my 3rd gen?
Plz post the video of putting 4gen steering wheel on ur 3rd I’m dying to do it and I’m looking toward you to help guide me bc so far I love ur ideas and work
