Off grid camping is the best, never feel guilty for doing nothing. Thanks for following the #1 rule of camping, " Leave your site better than you found it".)
What a trooper your wife is! Seriously! A true gem! Always smiling, always patient, and smiles as you video her WORKING picking up trash. Not to mention filming her folding laundry, LOL! My wife would have killed me. 🤣
i'm sure when they are "backing in", she can get a bit testy...that's tjhe normal. Now MY girl told me - as i'm looking at RVs and trailers and buses NO WAY! I'm gonna miss her
I was a Girl Scout and a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. I was brought up that you always leave things better than they were and not to disturb nature any more than you have to and put things back whenever possible. Also use minimal amounts of resources like water. I took chemistry in college and learned that you can use a squirt bottle with a curved spout to rinse the surfaces of containers (dishes, pots, pans, etc). You don’t need to let the water run. Also when taking a shower in an rv you get wet, turn off the water, soap up, rinse off. The 3 minute shower.
Thanks for cleaning up the park in Idaho Falls! Its hard to imagine someone wanting to camp or RV and yet leaving their mess behind. You 'd think they would be more aware. We just returned from a 3 week, 4100 mile trip from Spokane, WA to Upper Peninsula of Michigan and back via all the back roads. We found similar messes in every state and every site we stayed in except in Montana where we randomly stayed in 4 campsites across the state that were free and very clean. I have stopped wondering why people do what they do, or being amazed the mess they leave behind. You are right, some people are disgusting and a few ruin it for the rest of us.
Seems the cheaper, the better!!! The Wyoming free BLM spot would be my favorite with the brewery nearby. The volcanic area was pretty cool too. Thanks for sharing how its done.
Yes I agree I enjoy following Sean and Christy as they travel around and introduce all of us to what's out there. I am retired and my wife is also retired though she's a busy girl... We have a 1977 Dodge Mallard class C which I have converted to total solar rebuilt everything took two journeys so far one to Pensacola and a whole lot of states in between on the way up to Illinois and then down to Texas in the desert for 6 weeks it was the best time of my life but we have parents that are 90 and 86 and we have to be here for for them for now and look forward to being able to travel but not forward to our parents passing... So in the meantime like you said we vicariously enjoy your journey looking forward to ours one day.. God bless all and safe and happy journeys.
Yes, littering is a pet peeve of mine also. Thanks for promoting the notion of leaving the area better than you found it, it is appreciated more than you know….
Wife and I did 6 months vanlife from Toronto to SoCa in 2018. 3 nights in Vegas to celebrate New Year cost us over a grand. The entire month after that cost less. PS, parked 2 weeks ocean front at Mission Bay for free and hang out at the beach was priceless.
This is the best time of year to do it up there. Summer is difficult in the heat but this time of year is very nice and easy way to make your money go further. And often so much fewer people around you.
Thanks for picking up other people’s trash. We run into the same thing with dog parks. I clean up after others. I’ve found dog poo right BESIDE the post with bags and a trash bin! People are ridiculous.
hey Todd, I have been meaning to touch base with you. We are currently in Draper but will probably move on tomorrow. I'm sorry we never organized a SLC meetup. Are you anywhere near Draper?
When you were in Idaho Falls, did you see that roundabout sculpture, WOW!!!!! We went to the zoo also very nice! We stayed at a couple BW host sites, as you say- newbies fear no hook ups, ha! It was a lack of understanding about the battery.
We’re back in Massachusetts after 8,111 miles in 37 days. Fantastic trip and already looking forward to the next one. 10 National Parks and more! Happy to see you are able to take a slower pace. Thanks again for your video work that we used a lot for guidance on our trip.
I was going to ask what kind of freight you were haulin' but then I did a quick estimate of our trip across Canada in 1974 and that was approximately 7425 miles in about 5 weeks. So to a certain extent that could be considered a somewhat touristy type rate. Although back then, the population density would make travel through most of Canada cities a walk in the park. We did visit relatives along the way and stay more than a few nights at certain locations. It was definitely an experience I remembered.
Important! It is extremely helpful to park the nose of your trailer into the prevailing winds! No more rocking and rolling. Sleep at night. No wind to grab your door and break your latches. No one ever seems to mention this but we have stayed in extremely windy conditions, and never had an issue because of doing that. Just an FYI that many of you may already know.
I like the stones around your Solo Stove and your foot cushions. True meditation. Great videography as always! Melvin's looks like a ball! Sean and Kristy stay safe. Loloho! 🙏⛺️🛶🇺🇸
I truly love to meditate! Craters of the moon is awsome. My buddies and I rode motorcycles out there from NC. We had a great time. I want to take my wife out there and camp sometime in the future. Great video!
Another great video! Such an interesting landscape... What variety we have in this country. Hey! If you can somehow tell the LOLOHO Nation: if they are headed to Vinnie's in Tallahassee, they need to stop first in beautiful Thomasville, Ga (my hometown). Once the end of the railroad and a winter resort for wealthy northerners, the town has gorgeous Victorian-era homes, plantations (some you can tour), great food and a lovely brick street area downtown. Arts and amphitheatre downtown. The Big Oak is (I think) about 390 years old now?! So much to do and see, including a quail scavenger hunt on Broad Street. WPAX is the second or third oldest radio station in Georgia.
Kristie is such a trooper! Great video. My wife is the same way about garbage. She even carries one of those garbage picker upper! Once at a free NFS campground in South Carolina we picked up several garbage bags of garbage. There were even poopie bags slung into the trees just behind our campsite.
A mention because I always think of it but haven't mentioned it, Kristy you are gorgeous - a true beauty. And Sean you are hilarious!!! My favorite RV channel!
Doing nothing in your words is a gift. Everyone should do this somewhere from time to time. No RV necessary; lots of ways to escape for even just a full day. What cool places you camped in this video. Christie looks fabulous in her hat!! I agree about Idaho Falls - nice little town with all the basics covered and a great fiver walk with the awesome falls. Thank-you, Christie, for cleaning up after others!! Thanks for the out-loud laugh re: vault toilet!!
What is up with the disc golf target in the middle of the campsite?! I mean, the firepit is there too, so I don't think you parked wrong. Even so, it looks so odd.
Way to go Christy! Gosh darn, you truly lucked out with your better half, well chosen and stay safe you two! Thanks for the video, as my wife keeps telling me to write down all these spots for if/when we will be in the area, but I just told here..'I'll watch the video again'...as they're so informative! As for Craters of the Moon, that's one we have gone to several years back, albeit we had a beautiful day in comparison, but definitely a worthy spot folks should stop and see!
My wife loves how Kristy folds her laundry! We both love camping in the area from Craters of the Moon NM over to the Grand Teton NP. It’s quite the contrast from living here on the Oregon coast! We have missed seeing you on the road just by a day or two these past two years. Maybe next year!
We were at craters late summer. It was hot walking out to the caves. Going into that cave was like walking into nice air conditioning😀 We really enjoyed that place. And then we went to the potato museum LOL. By the way if you go down to Utah check out Antelope island. We stayed in a new loop that just opened and not many knew about. Great view of the great salt lake with Bison And antelope walking around.
Solar is the way to go. When we buy next year again we will have full Solar on the Rig plus a backup Generator for cloudy days. I want to be able to stay at more places not so busy with families as we are older and love kids but our Grandkids. Great video guys!
Thanks ❤️ We travel full time for the past 4 years and watch your channel as our main source of ideas, inspiration, product guides, entertainment etc. I just added Craters of the Moon and Alpine to our itinerary for the coming late summer. All the best!
Glad you guys got to Craters of the Moon National Monument. When the Mrs and I did our trip to Utah, YNP and GTNP, etc, we did visit Craters. We enjoyed it very. I found it to be very interesting and, in it's own way, pretty. I may be a little odd though. I also found Death Valley NP beautiful.
Yep, 10 days for $76. Plus the $50,000 ~ $100,000 for a used Airstream camper, plus another $60,000 for a Ford F250 or Chevy 2500 to pull it with. So that's a minimum of about $110,000, or roughly 14,474 nights (40 years).
We bought our 2003 Airstream when it was 4 years old (back in 2007). We've been driving the same truck since we bought it in 2007. We have taken good care of them, so I think we're doing pretty good. And we're on the road for 4 to 6 months every year. Precious memories that are PRICELESS! :)
That’s a very good deal with not having to boon dock with no hookups to having to stay at campgrounds with no hookups. That’s not bad at all. As long as they were great campgrounds. I liked when you stayed right by a river. I laughed when you said need to wear a mask to go to the campsites bathroom. You said no wear a gas mask. I was laughing hard. Thank you for this video. Liking forward to seeing you soon!
I lived in Idaho Falls as a kid and remember field trips to Craters of the Moon NP, and camping in Yellowstone NP. Brings back great memories, think we'll have to go again next fall.
Watching the two of you and your adventures make us even more excited for our Lance to come in! We’re newbies but not afraid of the disbursed camping. Thanks for another great video.
Please mention the WiFi capabilities at the sites you visit. Hookups may not be an absolute necessity, but for me working, I need reasonable WiFi connectivity.
We had great cell service in Alpine, Wyoming and in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Craters of the Moon is in the middle of nowhere, so we had almost zero service at our campsite, but we did get 2 bars of 4g LTE when at the visitors center (it sits up on a hill, while the campground is in a bit of a valley). Hope this helps. You can always check the campendium.com website for a listing of the cell coverage at each campground and filter by your specific cell provider. We find that to be most helpful because if you don't have AT&T like us, our coverage info won't be helpful for you.
Our list of places to go keeps growing and growing thanks to you. Like the sites where you just pull over, as our rig was bought with family camping in mind so we need a little more room for a 40' 5th wheel.
Yup, the fall rains have arrived it sounds like. I grew up near Idaho Falls, north of Roberts (1959-1965) (North on I-15). Did you go to the Falls Park? I don't know if it is still there but below the falls is a fish ladder with viewing windows. It is on my bucket list to head back there in a couple of years. Lots of history.
It looks like you parked right next to a disc golf post? Is it too cold for disc golf? That spot does have a beautiful view. I am really good at doing nothing. On our last 2 week camping trip we had at least two days doing nothing. (We read a lot.) Isn’t that the goal, to enjoy where you are? (HAHA small curd or large curd?). My husband loves using our Walkie-talkies. Wow, those were big caves. Wild landscape. OOh, scary lightning.
Great video! and Namaste! I started listening to Allan Watts in the 70's... Have found so much more "Life Affirming Inspiration" in the Eastern messages... quite a difference from having grown up in the Wesleyan Church (which today is basically a Fascist recruitment operation) What a difference... Awesome video... Thank you for beautiful Alpine Nothingness!
What a delightful place Alpine WY! Loving you silly dry humor Sean. That Christy is so naturally beautiful 😍 y’all are a great couple to watch. I pick up at my local park when I walk my dogs 🐕 too!!
Wish you would have stopped at Heise Hot Springs it’s on the route between Wyoming and Idaho Falls. Might want to put that on your list next time you pass through the area.
I always pick up trash too - I just don't understand the trash in the firepit thing... Nice spots! We have found a few City / County parks for free or in the $15 range and really enjoyed them!
I couldn’t help but notice the disc golf basket. How long have you been playing? We’ve been carrying a basket with us as well. Well, we did with the fifth wheel but now our class B doesn’t have room. You been playing long?
We don't play. It was a random basket that we think the brewery put up for special events. It's on BLM land and the brewery told us we were free to park there so it's obviously not in use.
We were hysterical about the gas mask comment! We only full hook up camp occasionally. Usually if we need to dump, get water and do laundry. Dispersed is the best! But by all means, go full hook up if that's your thing. I could see how it would be easier with children.
There are two types of solidified basalt lava flows in Hawaii: In Hawaiian (and for geologists) they are Pāhoehoe (pronounced pah hoy hoy) and ʻaʻā (pronounced ah ah). Pāhoehoe looks like coils of rope. You can see Pāhoehoe at 13:12. ʻAʻā looks sharp and blocky. You can see ʻaʻā at 16:59. A tongue-in-cheek etymology for ʻaʻā is that when Hawaiians walked over ʻaʻā in their bare feet, they said 'ah! ah!, ah! ah!' :).
Good evening Kristie & Shawn, thanks for sharing this great video ! It would of been hard to leave without maxing out the full allowable time in Wyoming. You're a fortunate Man Shawn, it's obvious to see why the Honeymoon is still flaming ! Thank you for caring enough to help Nature maintain it's beauty ! Safe travels & keep smiling !
MEDITATION. It has a conitation of clearing the mind of purposeful thought, (not a smart idea). It has also an opposite meaning, one with positive, purposeful direction, instead of leaving the mind void, empty. This is where one may consider or read something of value, stop, and concentrate on its practical value, and if not then abandon it. One thinks deeply as to how one can apply what may learn from it, putting that issue, principal and material into good practice in his or her life. Just somthing to 'think' about. In many other instances a traveler will show wisdom when approaching a RR crossing. How? Stop, look, & listen. Then one can proceed safely. One standing on a hill on shore certainly will not just jump in without knowing how shallow it is, or if there are hidden rocks below the surface. His swim that day will not be frought with catastrophy. In this case too, one takes a little time to think before he leaps. Meditation is needed In weightier matters of life, choosing a mate, buying a house (or travel trailer), considering a trade to work at for 20 years or more. Really, one would want to 'meditate' and then after thinking deeply, then decide the course of greater value. What other life changing issues require meditation? Oh, I'll just let that roll around in your mind for a minuite or two, or longer. AS For POLKA BANDS, my neighborhood was all Polish families back in the 30's, 40's, 50's, & 60's. But they're all moved on, so no polka musica now. Would have been nice, but I moved in here 1978. Things change, so take your time to relax by that river. I highly commend & thank y'all for that cleanup chore because you 'care'. Am wishing more folks had such interest in doing their part. I often wonder how those litter bugs feel when walks by their house & tosses a mcky d's, brgr.King, or Chk.Fillet bag of refuse on their front yard. WHAT?! Y'all didn't get the senior rate of $4.oo per nite at craters campsite? Oh, sorrrrry, I mistakenly thought you qualified. Pleeeeze fergiv mee. I sometimes get stuff wrong like that. By the way, I do enjoy your travels. Keep 'em coming. From the Conestoga Wagon driver from the North East. .
Such a great video, so much potential. Go for it. You can always charge the truck at the camp ground. I got a model y and a f150 and got my travel trailer If the had a baby wish it would be cyber truck. Go for it. I would watch all your videos.
Nice, need to add this type of camping to our routine. We also love our Solo Stove That was a grain elevator in Idaho Falls. Live in Iowa, we know grain elevators 😎
Love your channel. Glad to run across your channel. Your doing exactly what me and my wife are planing to do. I have alittle over 7 years to go before I can retire from the state.
Love to watch you two! Next time in Idaho, try targhee national forest for dispersed camping, and city of rocks national monument for hiking and climbing. Also, my favorite hike to hot springs is Gold Bug (natural, not touristy like lava hot springs).
Shout out to all the unsung heroes that clean up other peoples trash at campgrounds.
Never feel guilty for doing “nothing” and enjoying “the present”. It’s the best.
Thank you for leaving the campsite better than you found it. If only more people felt this way.
As a former camp host: thank you and loloho
Off grid camping is the best, never feel guilty for doing nothing. Thanks for following the #1 rule of camping, " Leave your site better than you found it".)
What a trooper your wife is! Seriously! A true gem! Always smiling, always patient, and smiles as you video her WORKING picking up trash. Not to mention filming her folding laundry, LOL! My wife would have killed me. 🤣
i'm sure when they are "backing in", she can get a bit testy...that's tjhe normal.
Now MY girl told me - as i'm looking at RVs and trailers and buses
NO WAY!
I'm gonna miss her
Maybe, just maybe...she is folding *his* undies!
@@normalperson1475 - I was so trying not to go there. 🤣 LOL!
@@normalperson1475 That was my thinking as well Normal! :)

Shawn I have those same leopard print underwear as well. For fashion and function. Never leave home without them.
To me the whole point is to relax, go with the flow……we haven’t even started yet, I live vicariously through you and others on UA-cam. Can’t wait.
Yes I agree I enjoy following Sean and Christy as they travel around and introduce all of us to what's out there. I am retired and my wife is also retired though she's a busy girl... It still looks like he had a beautiful trip and the scenery, despite the weather is absolutely gorgeous; thank you for taking the time to show us.
This really encapsulated the essence and freedom of boondocking
Thank you for picking up litter. I do that too, most recently on a hike. Some people ARE awful. :(

I used to deliver to Broulims. Didn't draw a deer tag this year so were headed to Moab next week.
We've only dry camped since we bought our travel trailer. Never had full hookups. I love the freedom too.
hey Todd, I have been meaning to touch base with you. We are currently in Draper but will probably move on tomorrow. I'm sorry we never organized a SLC meetup. Are you anywhere near Draper?
At 11:23 that looks like an open storm sewer your dumping into.
OMG min 7:23 John Toolson. No wonder you liked Alpine. Never a dull moment well your with that guy
When you were in Idaho Falls, did you see that roundabout sculpture, WOW!!!!! We went to the zoo also very nice! We stayed at a couple BW host sites, as you say- newbies fear no hook ups, ha! It was a lack of understanding about the battery.
A great place with hook ups near there is rerie reservoir. Huge sites with manicured lawns, electric and water.
Thank you!! Thank you for the info on the 2nd righthand button down!!

As an east Idahoan I’m sorry we didn’t have the water for you. They’ve been working on the dam sending reserved water down the river.

Always great info about these locations with just the right amount of humor! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed!

Dry camping on occasion is nice. October in Idaho is a great time to be there. We were there in June when AC is a must.
Been there,Alpine,Wy..Toosie's pizza
Wonderful ....... getting cold though.
Thank you for leaving your campsite better than you found it. And for your interesting info on dispersed camping! Great video.
Parked in the middle of a frisbee golf course! Love the view!! Happy travels :) Great PRO TIP to mute gas pump!
About that disc golf hole, what was your official ruling? "Play through"?
We do the same thing, pick up the campsites, we visit. Leave no trace!
Wish we have known about the Idaho City Park, we stayed in Snake River RV Park, packed in like sardines!
So glad that you both made poor lightning rods.
Loved the video. Way to roll with the flow. $76 for 10 days. Can't beat that with a stick! Safe travels.
Nicely done and a lively brewery enjoyed
by all. 🎶
Wish you would have stopped at Heise Hot Springs it’s on the route between Wyoming and Idaho Falls. Might want to put that on your list next time you pass through the area.
Thanks for the tip!
Lessons learned. Enjoying your camping videos near Teton. Thanks.
Looks like an ag view in Idaho Falls. I think that is a grain storage facility.
I always pick up trash too - I just don't understand the trash in the firepit thing... Nice spots! We have found a few City / County parks for free or in the $15 range and really enjoyed them!
Kristy you really ROCK that hat.
Aw, thanks!
Y'all been around the longest but still the BEST. LOVE Y'ALL
Aw, thank you so much! 💗🤙🏻
Nice & interesting video for roughing it on Clamping.
We love your selection of music. We wish you safe travels. God bless.
Nice videos. Really putting the ceramic glass coating to the test. That cave was strategically located. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
Thanks for watching!
Sorry we missed you guys in Grand Teton and Yellowstone by a couple of weeks!!! Love you guys "keep on trucking"
Awesome thumbnail pic of Christie! (Sorry Sean). Great video yall.
We were hysterical about the gas mask comment! We only full hook up camp occasionally. Usually if we need to dump, get water and do laundry. Dispersed is the best! But by all means, go full hook up if that's your thing. I could see how it would be easier with children.
So excited to hear Vinnie’s is coming to FL!!! Welcome and much success!!! I’m sure I will see ya soon.
A tongue-in-cheek etymology for ʻaʻā is that when Hawaiians walked over ʻaʻā in their bare feet, they said 'ah! ah!, ah! ah!' :).
Great job - as always! Thanks for the humor, the information, and the good example you set!
What a beautiful spot - and who doesn’t love a good Polka!?
I got a model y and a f150 and got my travel trailer
If the had a baby wish it would be cyber truck.
Go for it. I would watch all your videos.
What a great couple you two are!
Nice, need to add this type of camping to our routine. We also love our Solo Stove
That was a grain elevator in Idaho Falls. Live in Iowa, we know grain elevators 😎
Great tip on Alpine, Wyoming plus dig your life philosophies - thank you Sean! 8 Crazy Years Living on the Road is also hysterically informative.
When getting your massage, did something probe your neither regions? Last time I sat in one of them, I got goosed.
Lol, maybe you were sitting at an odd angle? They do have rollers that pass under your backside, but there should be two...one under each cheek! :)
Always entertaining. Good time to meditate, in a lava cave, with rain. God bless.
Campsite Complete with Brewery, that would be a cool twist !
Love your channel. Glad to run across your channel. Your doing exactly what me and my wife are planing to do. I have alittle over 7 years to go before I can retire from the state.
yes, lead by example on trash pickup, my late father in law did that on the golf course. RIP Scotty.
Great video! Brats and brewski's then on to the bat cave. So cool.
Love to watch you two! Next time in Idaho, try targhee national forest for dispersed camping, and city of rocks national monument for hiking and climbing. Also, my favorite hike to hot springs is Gold Bug (natural, not touristy like lava hot springs).
You guys doing what you do best. Very informative and enjoyable.
Great !! more spot's to add to my travel list's thank you
Enjoyed it! My favorite site was the one in Alpine across from Melvin Brewing. We'll add that area to our list. Nice one Sean!
