- Icebergs! Bears! And a boat running into both of them?!? Are we crazy? Well, maybe a little but Alaska offers a lot to see and experience.
Can we get our Class C Magnitude from Thor off the Ferry at Wrangell on the Alaska Marine Highway System? This is what RV Fulltime Living is all about. Adventure
Wrangell may be the friendliest community in Alaska. Free potlucks? Free Dungeness crab? What is going on?
We've been planning this Alaska RV road trip for over a year and we're doing it. Enough talk, let's walk! Well...we'll drive but you get the picture.
They raise the bridge and place dunnage (planks) under the tires to get us free from the ship! We hope the campground has room. I didn't tell Sondra there are only 13 sites. Can't locate the Harbor and that's where the campground is so I hope it's easy to find.
Anan Bear Observatory is a bucket list item along with pictures of seals on icebergs, bears catching salmon and a glacier calving which we got all of them! And more! Oh and the cubs are sooo cute!
We hike to Rainbow Falls and it is a "special" water feature which we find. It's very cool. But our time at Wrangell comes to an end and we must go!
Our RV is a Thor Magnitude so we hope it survives but the views are magnificent, awesome and stunning so the trip is a once in a lifetime event.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.
We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to UA-cam channels Suite Travels and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks (Happilyeverhanks) #thankshanks. Believe it or not, I have received great ideas from MrBeast, Mr Beast or Beast on his channel.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share our experiences in our discovery of What's Next.

We use the TSD card for diesel fuel and save a bundle each time we fill up our Big Rig. We also use it to fill up our Onan generator.

Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.

Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL

While I was in Homer, Alaska, I went into a small cute little book store. I was hoping to find any books I could find relating to the Native Alaskans, their culture, how they adapt and survive in such a harsh winter environment. However, I saw the cover of a book titled, "Ada Blackjack", and it drew me in like a magnet. It is the true story of a Native woman that was with some of the explorers of Wrangle, their failures, the challenges, and all the extreme hardships she and only a few others were able to endure. I still haven't been able to finish reading the book. I have a life long problem of not being able to read too many pages and then I either fall asleep or have to go back to re-read something I couldn't quite remember. I sure wish they would make this book into a movie, especially since it is a true story. Thank you for taking us to Wrangle so I can see what it looks like now, or should I say, from a different area than where they were. I'm going to start reading the book all over again and maybe this time I can finish it.
This is one of your videos that I will be watching over and over. Wrangel is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! So much to see, and all of it is so incredibly beautiful! Wish I had neighbors that would bring me fresh Dungeness Crab from Alaskan waters. OOPS!!! Kind of hard to do that here in Yuma, Ariz. Ugh!
I'll bet it's very interesting. The culture is very cool and seems to be like Hawaiian culture in many ways.

I love to watch bears. I watch Katmai National Park, Brooks Falls on UA-cam. They have Coastal Brown Bears. It is so amazing to watch them stand on the falls and catch salmon. Fat Bear Week is coming up in October. You get to vote on who you think should be the Fat Bear Champion. LOL They have chats on Wednesday and Thursday nights and sometimes during the day. Bears are so unique. They have their cubs during hibernation and bring them out in the spring, but hopefully not at the popular falls, so many things can happen to cubs. It is dangerous for the cubs to be around male dominate bears. The only way to get there is by boat or seaplane. It is an amazing place. They have stands on the river that you can watch them. It is not as rocky as this place. I enjoyed seeing the bears. Thank you for sharing your trip. You did it the right way and saw all of Alaska.

Fantastic!! Breathtaking views. We have a Petroglyph Provincial Park in eastern Ontario and petroglyphs in Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia. Then, we also have both petroglyph and pictographs in British Columbia and Alberta.
They are everywhere...and I'll bet the symbols are similar to those in Alaska and Hawaii! Thank you.
Very interesting timing of your posting an iceberg excursion. Yesterday’s news had a story about Martha Stewart having a cocktail with ice from an iceberg. Needless to say there was an excess amount of flack from the environmentalists. Commentators were all saying was very unnecessary as the ice was from icebergs that were already melting. Anyway, I think these cocktails were taken off the menu. Enjoyed your video.

Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful. Brought back so many wonderful memories of our many good times on the Alaska Ferry and time spent at Petersburg. Hands down, our travels via ferry with multiple stays at Prince Rupert, Petersburg, Juneau, Haines, and Skagway was the very best thing we have ever done! Just wonderful to relive those memories via your video. Thank you.❤

Sandra, Amazing, wonderful, outstanding, just cannot say enough wonderful things about yalls photography skills!!! So beautiful. Thank you and David for sharing this incredible trip with us all. Have done the cruise ship to Alaska before but you both are showing so much more of the beauty that Alaska has to offer. I don't know how you keep from stopping and fishing though. Oh how wonderful to eat the fresh salmon and crabs, and shrimp, etc. Thank you both so much taking the time to shoot, edit and share with us. Wrangell could use a Whataburger though.
