    A veteran once told me "You just don't resist or survive an interrogation. You either die or don't get captured at all".
    Unless you are a VIP and too value to be killed, you don't survive an interrogation unless your captors want to keep you alive.

      The security of interrogation training is not to yourself or any individual but the security of your own country and the man or men beside you. Interrogation training is more than just seeing how you react under interrogation but seeing how you react in general. It's a test yes but it's not like there's really a right or a wrong answer or response, it's an overall assessment in the most simple and brutal way. It's a test of shear will and guile, there's no real revision or studying for it when it happens for real, it's about assessing opportunities and playing on your captors will to keep you alive without giving anything important away.

      well im not a professional interrogator.
      Bu there is one thing to take a beating yourself or watch and hear one of your buddies getting savagely tortured.
      if you take the weakest captured, the wounded one in this case, and simply brutally torture him while the other can hear and see the agony his going through. the chances are much higher the weakest will crack since he's injured, his resistance will be way lower, and the other one of the psychological torture.
      the weak point is often just hurt some other person they care about, as they would probably take a beating for themselves with a smile and even die if necessary...just saying

    • @brucekendall9873
      @brucekendall9873 Рік тому

      Yeah but usually you're buying time. Plenty of people will just kill you once they think they've gotten enough out of you. Then you leak a little more. Giving yourself more time to find a chance to escape or get rescued, maybe even released. Sometimes it's as simple as they don't have the time or room for you or killing you etc. Or administrative issues, if you wait long enough something may occur that benefits you. More time alive, more chances at freedom. But you gotta hold out of very long periods of time and give them just enough to keep you alive. Just from videos in the trenches in Ukraine whether journalists held captive, or soldiers, they were released only because they didn't have any more room for them or supplies, or time to kill them/bury them because of unknown administrative decisions. One got released because the battle nearby became too intense and unstable, they just didn't have enough men to do stupid shit like watch prisoners they needed them up front fighting, so he basically walked out of there and no one was there. Sometimes it's that dumb and simple and it can save you, not always though

    • @JohnnyCrack
      @JohnnyCrack Рік тому +7

      I was living in Spain and didn't have enough money for the surgery and the anisthetic, his name was Jesus. That's not the worst though, when I was 17 I had a head on collision with another motor bike and his helm it hit me in the face and broke my jaw. They waved wires in and out of my teeth top and bottom, then attached those wires vertically. 3 months later, was driving my new bike home from the hospital so refused the anisthetic. He chopped the vertical wires and said I had a choice, snip, snip, snip, snip, snip each one and pull out the wires which would take about an hour,,, or just grab one end and pull (I'm writing one handed and holding the chair as I write), he attached players to the end of the wire on the bottom set, put his foot on the arm of the chair and pulled, blood went everywhere, then the top.

    At this point we are confused as to why Sergeant Harris has repeatedly failed the female interrogator portion of the course. To date he has repeated this portion 27 times and there is no sign he will pass for the 28th. It has been six months since he started this course. We have informed him that maybe this just isn't his specialty and he should consider other options but he refuses to give up and has even become borderline violent when confronted about being pulled and returning to duty. Every day he wakes up and dutifully and reports to the cell to be interrogated yet again by the role playing female interrogator. We are truly puzzled as to how someone with a stellar record that lacks failure can't pass this simple portion in spite of our best efforts to help him along. Surprisingly, the female interrogator also insists that we continue and has not become the least bit frustrated with the situation.

      That's the point NarkMan. Once they go hard you're going to give information. The thing is to be 'the Grey Man'. In the opening stages of a conflict, lots of POW's are going to be taken by both sides. That's a lot of information to be got through. Most of the POW's are going to have nothing of value, but they are mixed in with the ones that have a great deal of value. So, they have to find out who is who. They don't have the resources or time to go through each and every person with 1:1 extreme interrogation, so they get less skilled interrogators to sift through to find the ones they want to spend time and effort on. Your job in the initial stages is to be so grey that they don't know that you have info. Do that for 48 hours and any information you have will be worthless.

    Second Rule: Don't ever reveal your inner fear (There will be some, when you are surrounded by the enemies), Wait for them to start the conversation, play ignorant, stay calm, let them keep talking (In the meanwhile plan your exit strategy and assess the situation), Don't play heed to the aggressive ones, talk to the calmer ones and arrive at false compromise.

Basically they just train you how to Survive/Evade/Resist and Escape the enemy if you happen to find yourself behind enemy lines. So Outdoor survival was included. They also have the POW portion/phase which was the real shitty part lol. Taught you how to tolerate intense interrogations, even did a little water boarding kinda stuff lol. Generally those sent to SERE were SEALS/SWCC, EOD, Other SF from different branches, Pilots, Rescue Swimmers/Aircrew, and probably some Intel guys that worked in the field. There's something heartwarming about knowing there are people out there not just in UK who would be willing to put themselves through this, that they train themselves for it. That they would likely put themselves through a slow gruesome hopeless ordeal without cracking with the best thing they can hope for being the sweet release of death. And why? Cos it makes you feel like a hard nut? No, Because they can, because they took up the job of being a part of an elite group of people who are formidable, efficient, deadly and unbreakable.
    Cos I tell you right now, i'm watching this with 3 words in my mind FUCK. THAT. SHIT and I have deep admiration to anyone serious enough about their job and what it represents to train themselves to put up with something like this.
