What an incredible man. I can't think of an appropriate adjective to describe him, maybe that word hasn't been invented yet. His navigation skill was incredible, absolutely incredible. *Who Dares Wins*
Had to get that in there didn’t you, what difference does it make if you were an ex army officer? Probably a bottom third SPS RAO that left after 4 years…..congratulations
@@bountyhuntermk2520 what's wrong with him saying that? Atleast he's done something for his country, what you do, bounty hunt lil gangsters on the streets? 😂
@@bountyhuntermk2520 I dont mind if anyone reveals they are ex officers I am an ex NCO joined at age 15 in the 1960s But I do understand where your coming from. I am a vet of more than 10 years service have you heard Jim Davison reciting rudyard Kipling the road to Mandalay, I recommend it old buddy.
This heroic man speaks so casually and yet his actions and many of his comrades are actions of heroes. What brave men they were- they will not be forgotten.
Very sad to see him in this state but incredible he lived this long. Just goes to show the toughest humans can’t defeat time. I’ve watched for many years videos interviewing the original members of the SAS and it was great to see Mike Sadler interviewed in the 1970s and 80s when he had all of his faculties. It was also interesting to hear the other members of the SAS praise him and say he was simply the best navigator was able to navigate through the desert with the stars alone. He became so skilled in navigation and came to love the desert and knew the areas of the desert where he operated like the back of his hand. He was so skilled he would know to the litre of fuel that would be required to get him there and back. God bless them all and may they be having a great time together in heaven.
RESPECT SIR from a veteran - THANK YOU for your service. Formed from the LRDG Long Range Desert group David Sterling formed the SAS. Paddy Mayne LEGEND........I stand corrected ALL SAS/SBS are legend.
I've just today read Damien Lewis' re-telling of this story in his book, "Brothers in Arms". Rest in Peace Mr Sadler. The world needs now, more than ever, honourable, disciplined, men and women like yourself and your colleagues from that point in history. People for whom integrity, loyalty and honesty are at the very core of their existence.
it's quite rare, but yes it would be good if people with those characteristics could work together to build up a good direction for things in the UK and Europe
You look at the older man now, then the picture of him when he was younger, it's hard to put the two together. This man of total endurance, commitment, a warrior of the higest order, all you can say is thank you
A wonderful heroic man. We will always remember you and your comrades. Thank you for your service; we owe all our service personnel a debt we can never hope to repay.
RIP Mr Sadler, a true hero.. To all you wanna be hard men & gangsters of today, look into this hero’s eyes, they’ve seen ‘shit’ & fought against the enemy that you lot would run home away too… back when Britian had a spine but unfortunately those days are long gone.
Passed away at 103. Not sure when this was filmed but he was switched on as hell remembering everything so clearly. If there was any person who should have been Knighted then it should have been Mike Sadler. Pop stars, charity people, sportsmen etc have been Knighted for doing a few good things but Major Saddler was way above them. He was the main navigation guy coming from the LRDG and then into the SAS. If he hadn't been pinched by Sterling then maybe we wouldn't have today's Special Forces.
Modest until the end. I read up a little on him after watching Rogue Hero’s. He was more than a passable navigator. He was a goddamn Fremen from Dune ❤😂
Just seen this video and had to comment this gentleman was a true hero just finished some books on the SAS rest in peace sir I commend you on your service to this country during the second world war
Because of these special breed of legends, we could rest and sleep easily at night, and now we are always on edge, i hope these do no gooders in parliament one day realise they are undoing everything these HEROS these LEGENDS have done, they would not even let them have their day in November, makes me sick to the stomach, no loyalty, bring in people like Paddy Ashdown into govermemt, people who have served at the highest level, who love this island and what we stand for, RULE BRITANNIA...Rest in peace Mr Sadler, go to hero heaven with your brothers
Mike Sadler gone but not forgotten; last of the original merry objective few. I must say he had a very good innings; most probably better than i'll have. Always a Gentleman; goodbye for now Mike....
