working on a larger project! new video sometime in the next week (hopefully) this one is going to be longer and a more complex one. I will post updates on the patreon until the video is released
i hope you continue this! when you revealed you were drawing the main character stabbing himself next i was super surprised and the storyline seems great already!
Love to see these manga making videos. I enjoy these videos documenting their experience with making manga. These videos like yours gives me motivation to continue working on my own comic. Keep it up
Yoo I really like your progress on manga making I can see how much work your doing and one thing I wanna suggest is when you drew the mc stabbing himself you should use a slight down angle, the camera looking at the mc face as he shows movement into stabbing himself where then you use the silhouette and in small three panels can be done so it wouldn’t take no space up but show urgency and the same things but with more flare, use more dynamic angles down top top down views to make people make intriegued and what I learned in a digital design class is when you make your panels flow into eachother like a “s” or a “z” for manga then it will attract more attention, I do manga pages but I haven’t post much manga panels ngl😭 i do post on my instagram though and im gonna post my manga panels on there
that's a great suggestion, i definitely need to learn to use more dynamic angles and poses, i'm honestly just scared to LMAO, i'll definitely try it with the next project though :)
@@halioweens since your having trouble can I help? I have tons of material and ways to practice since I had the same problem and I like helping out and I helped another person that also is trying to do manga which he is improving 😭yeah I definitely understand that it gets so confusing and then you don’t know where you start had me where I was practicing body and perspective for a good bit would only make a page every so often at the time lol💀 but definitely keep going with your manga panels as it will improve so much, now I don’t need to use references when making manga panels now and takes a hour to make four draft pages for inking
Man this channel is underrated. Don't stop! And I have a suggestion to make your manga better: show the full shot more often. You have really good medium and close shots, but you're lacking on the scale and backgrounds. However, I can't really say much because you made it in a week, which is very impressive, so it doesn't really matter. Also, can you give yourself a bit longer to make a manga for the next challenge? Like two weeks or a month? Just a suggestion. Anyways I subbed instantly because I really like your type of content
i really appreciate that! and yeah i noticed myself doing that too, definitely planning on more wide shots for the next project. As for the time period i give myself, it's usually tough to work on something for a longer period of time due to wanting to get content out there for you guys whilst also leaving room for other things i have going on :(
Hey there! Just recently found out about this video. The art was really spectacular, and I hope you can continue doing more chapters for this. One suggestion I had was that the progression for this chapter felt a little too paced, and I think that another page/panel with just a calm moment between the two drinking and the main character announcing he poisoned him would make it a little bit more fluent since I feel like the panel jumps into the action a little bit too quick in a narrative perspective. Otherwise, everythings great man! You get my full gratitude.
yeah i agree it could've used another few panels but i was trying to reach a deadline and it was my first time doing something like this so i definitely gotta cut myself some slack :') and thanks for the kind words and support!!
Honestly this is amazing the work really feels professional, the voice over is great and of course the art is also amazing of course!!! Keep going i am sure you are going to blow up real soon
if you improved your anatomy and perspective your manga would be amazing! keep going, it's actually very brave to expose yourself like that when you are still a beginner artist, all the respect
This is actually insane ... It makes me wanna try it. So, I got some questions - How and from where did you learnt this? And what's the application you are using for it? And how much time do you think it takes to learn?
i've been drawing for as long as i can remember but i only really made good progress a couple years back when i kept consistently practicing the anime/manga art style since that what was felt easiest and most comfortable for me. It can be achieved with lots of time and patience, drawing isn't easy and even now i struggle with it pretty often, but you can achieve anything you put your mind to :) as for the program it's called clipstudio paint
using ai, and using random copyrighted images from google are both wrong, but the image from google is more risky for you legally. Make sure you use royalty free images, and preferably, for manga, ones that dont require attribution
eh i've decided to go the route of doing neither, don't think either is a good option at this point and i prefer to avoid people getting upset about it anyways
@@halioweens ai wouldn’t be a bad tool for random background images if it weren’t for the copyright/theft issue, but even if that would get sorted out idk if the bad association will ever disappear, so going for hand drawn is a good idea. That also has the added bonus of making you better at starting backgrounds
Hey imma lil late but as another artist who makes comics and stuff you don’t have to prove you can draw it yourself you can use the ai it helps with production and the professionals do it anyway. Ofc it’s important to still practice and learn how to do it on ur own but you get what I’m saying
it's a two part video, but i get what ur saying, the actual concept though was with zero experience and it was split into two videos sooooo technically 😎
@@obaraksennahoj7191 LOL NO it's not dumb I was just trying to clear my name and the title haha, thanks for wataching the video :) its greatly appreciated
When i read the 5th page i skipped the frame with dead cap straight to the speech bubble. It was good idea to put bright moon in the frame, but still picture feels vague.
that's understandable but i think i gave it enough of a tense build up... i also made sure to include dialogue and other things insinuating it was his death.
Hii! Just here to tell you that the reason why people didn't like u using ai is because ai uses other artists work to create that image (works which are copyrighted) and manga creators generally take their own pictures/ use copyright free pics! :#
@@halioweens when it comes to props or environments, a lot of pros DO trace, though. I had a professor who works in storyboarding and has done a lot of work for diff companies, and that's what he did + suggested us to do since storyboards also have to be done pretty quickly. You don't need to trace over images too - you can do it over models for environments, too.

Youre so good at this, and i also believe you can put out a weekly webtoon and actually make it
that would be a lot of work but it seems super interesting and fun :) the only issue is i'm still a student so it's not possible at the moment :(
The thing is that why i subscribed you is your videos keeps me motivated to continue my own manga and trust the process ✌🏻
