the first crochet project I ever finished was a cat ear beanie from your old tutorial and I just found one with a scarf attached so I came looking for your tutorial again and now I'll use this new one!
@ABoCStudio I did!! I like starting from the top of the hat way more than trying and failing to make sure my base chain doesn't get twisted. it was so quick and easy, thank you so much!

This tutorial is awesome! I made the hat in one day and all my loved ones want one now. I have a question though, if I was to make this in half double crotchet instead of double crochet would I chain one at the end of each round instead of chaining two? I love your channel!!
I followed this video and my hat came out perfect ❤️ You should post a tutorial on cat beanie with ear flaps! You're videos are the easiest to follow for beginners 💕
definitely making some for christmas gifts, about how long would you say it takes for a beginner to finish a hat? I have never crochet before haha, but i'll keep you updated ! Thank you so much for this free tutorial.
So, i had started loosing stitches when slip stitch joining rows. I decided i wasnt going to frog it, and just went with it, turns out it was a good thing! the hat would have been way too loose. I ended up throwing a couple decreases in also and i was making it like 11 stitches too big 😅 its still kinda loose but its coming together. The ears are WAY too big though. Oh well, its for me anyways! AND its my first hat project! When she says count stitches on each row... LISTEN! 😂
I figured out what I was doing wrong . Watched the video again. And I was joining into the 1st real double crochet. Instead of the top stitch in the chain 2. Basically skipping the chain and skipping a stitch!
Tutorial is amazing! However, am I supposed to be crocheting it inside out (where the strings are out) or should I be crocheting it while the strings are inside the beanie? I’m not sure which is the outside of the beanie or the inside of it! Thank you.

@ABoCStudio girl I'm academically and generally so stupid 😭😭 like ill cry if I can't even do a magic ring properly. You have no idea how many breakdowns I've had over crocheting
hii, thank you so much for all your videos ❤ i have a question- at 20:10 i forgot to put the color change yarns on the inside of the hat, so now it is sticking out on the outside 😅 can i fix this by cutting the piece and weaving that end in, and then start from a new yarn?
Hii 💓 okay so, cutting it would be pretty risky but as you described I imagine that it's long enough to weave in the piece 🤔 that's would definitely work! But just make sure that the stitches won't unravel✨
hello, i want to make this beanie crochet as a gift/surprise. so, is it okay to measure my own head or do i need to measure the head of the person i'll be gifting this? thank you!
most people's heads are all around 20-23" so just measure your own lol it's not going to make much a difference if you use stretchy yarn and keep your tension even and loose

If your beanie's shape still look good then you don't have to redo it at all! No worries!!! turning is for the sake of the straight chain line (the line on the whole piece created by the chains that you make after slip-stitch to join each round), if you don't turn your work, the shape of your piece would still be fine, but the chain line will be tilted. so if you don't mind that then it's not a big deal✨ (as long as you still have the right number of stitches after each round, then your project will stay in shape)
Hi ABoC studio! I made my first cat beanie and it failed, how? The base of the hat was like in a different direction/side, it was upside down! How to prevent it?❤
This is my fav tutorial! It's so easy to follow, but somehow, my beanies keep turning out bigger than my head! 😭 It's happened twice now. Unsure as to what I'm doing wrong :(
1:13 Hi, I am a beginner crocheter and I’m very confused on what yarn to use, The yarn I bought keeps curling as I’m double crocheting and not laying how yours is, do I need a thinner silkier one? The only Aran yarn near me is velvety soft Aran yarn, is that one right?
Sounds like you have accidentally increased stitches on each row! you can always keep track of the stitch-number by counting the first row and keep it the same in 2nd, 3rd row,... then after just a few more rows you'll be able to keep it the same all the time without counting 💫
Actually if you want the ears to be more pointy, you may wanna consider making the hay tighter so the ears would sticking out more than dropping down💞 So sorry about this late reply 😢
Hii💗 usually It takes some practice, I think you'd be more comfortable after a few rows😉 If it still feels uneasy, I recommend you to try out different ways to hold the working yarn and the hook. There's a few ways and you can Google them💞
Yes, it would work for different yarn types (as long as it no thinner than Dk yarn) 😉 so fluffy will definitely do! The recommended yarn in the video (Aran) is mainly for beginners because it's easy to work with hence unlikely to fail the project ✨

You say to follow the same pattern until the hat is about 21 inches. I'm confused because that doesn't seem correct. Your hat looks like it is less than 12 inches tall. 21 inches seems way too long & at least twice the length of the hat you made in the video.

what kind of yarn is that !!
It's acrylic aran/worsted yarn from Bernat🧶
hey can you tell me why mine got so big?
Sounds like you have accidentally increased stitches on each row!
If you like you can Dm some pic of the piece, I'll be able to tell what's going on n give you some tips😉
I purposely made mine a bit bigger and now I’m worried bc it looks giant
I made it at least like 5-10 chains larger than I should’ve
@@keylimeteaHow did it turn out if (you’ve finished it already)? I think I might have made mine too small since my yarn and needle are thicker and I thought I had to make it smaller haha
@@diediedice i ended up following a different pattern as I found it easier ngl, I just cut off the old project
@@keylimetea ahhh okay, that's good too! :) I'll try to continue mine and see if it fits/looks fine
Im sooo lost tbh I’m just trying to wing it. I feel so dumb lol
Ohhh nooo you are not dumb 😭😭😭 maybe you’re just too new to the hook! Give this easier scarf project a try, you don’t have to finish the thing just try to follow and get used to making a few Double Crochet Rows ua-cam.com/video/KPESfW-qgXU/v-deo.htmlsi=qejaR9oN2yZk5cGF
🥹 hope it’ll help!

😍😍😍
😉💕💕💕
You say to follow the same pattern until the hat is about 21 inches. I'm confused because that doesn't seem correct. Your hat looks like it is less than 12 inches tall. 21 inches seems way too long & at least twice the length of the hat you made in the video.
Yes!!! Its "21cm" NOT inches!!! That was silly a typo 😭😭 I try to put a popup notice but I guess i doesn't work on some devices😅 so sorry about that
I really wanted this 1st row and foundation chain to be perfect is it ok to be ugly at the start? Also this hat is soo cute(❁´▽`❁)(´。✪ω✪。`)
You can DM me some pics of your piece! I'll see what I can help😉💞
where is the pattern?
It's displayed along the video 🧶
Every time i make this hat, even with following the tutorial, it comes out too big :/
Hii💞you can Dm some pics of your piece, I'll see what I can help you with 😉

I can’t 🥲
😭what happened?
69 (it's just to remind me)😅
I have a really hard time figuring out which part of my work I need to hook my needle into, wish it was easier to understand 🥲
Hii🧶 so, we would insert the hook right under the V shape on top of eachs stitch to work up the new one.
