Cleaning this sensor fixed my AC issues, before it was blowing warm air. Cleaned the sensor and air is blowing 65 degrees once again. Thanks for the video made this repair super simple, took under 5 mins
Please sir Please Rename this video to include AC fix! I bought the cleaner opened my sensor and it was caked with gray dust ...cleaned it off and my AC works! This is after a Mechanic already charged me for AC diagnostic and found no leak. You are a winner!
Why does mine have a rubber cover on it? UK viewer here, on my 2015 Yaris it's just by the glove box, removed the glove box it was easy. Thought i'd give it a clean anyway but no issue with my heater/A/C just thought i'd inspect the sensor, it was clean & fine. I did clean my MAF sensor thou as it was never done in 3yrs of ownership & i always like to keep on top of everything.
Thanks for the video!!! Saved me a ton!!! I skipped the step of taking it apart and used computer duster to blow into the “vent” where sensor is. Started car up and heater works again!!!!
Thanks for helping but I cleaned the sensor It was dusty but that’s all Is black the correct color for the sensor?? I get cold air on Hi But if I turn the heat on and off a few times the heat will kick in Any tips Thanks
Have the samen problem on my tundra 2008... I checked the actuators first. They are functioning well... Sensor cleaning don't help a lot. I'll try changing.
I pulled the plastic off and there's a spot where the sensor hooks in. But there's no sensor anywhere. Not sure of it was modified or what but I'm positive this is the problem. Just can't find the sensor
Hey Steve, did you just clean the inside like he did and it fixed the issue? I have a problem where whether I have the temp at low or 80 its the same cold air. I have to hit Hi for full heat to come through. I tried this but it didn't seem to help much. Appreciate any help
@@jasonhendrie3716 Woah! Where is that video at? @Alex G I am still having that problem and was about to go into Toyota to finally get it fixed but would rather not have to pay the $$$.
@@jareddodds6045 search Blend Door Actuator Toyota 4Runner. It’s behind the glove box. Very easy to get to. Pull glove box out. There’s a small black tube that pushes air to floor board. Pull that out. Key on, turn temp up and down and you’ll see the actuator move or not move.
I thought there was zero chance this was my issue. IT WAS 🎉 YOU ARE THE MAN

Thanks, makes perfect sense. Nice job sharing it :-)
How do you take it out? I don’t wanna break anything and the video kinda just jumped ahead
clips on the back of panel
Do you need to disconnect the battery?
The exact fix I needed.
yup me too !
Update, my air was cold while the car idled but as soon as I drove the heat kicked in As soon as I idled again it went back to cold air 🤷🏻♂️
Did you figure this issue out?
You have air in your coolant lines. You need to purge the air from your coolant system. Or simply be sure you have ENOUGH coolant.
First of all if you run it on 68-67 is going to put out cool air.
68 is warm
Depends what the temperature is outside. 68 could be cool or warm
If its below freezing which is 32 and below outside. 68 is warm. Its no different than setting your house thermostat.
I'd like to live wherever you are. Haha
