I made a Warhammer model once, and I really struggled getting the pieces to stick together with my Tamiya cement. Is there a special kind of adhesive you need for the kind of plastic used my Warhammer, or was my glue just expired?

If you're using the Tamiya "Thin" cements, the parts need to be held together as you apply cement to the join. The "regular" cements can be applied to one part or the other and then put together; assuming the model is actually plastic and not resin.
