Hey Nicole, since you are a network security engineer, I am curious how did you learn networking. As a student, I obviously cannot afford a lot of the networking equipments. Maybe a couple of them. I can mainly go the digital learning way at the moment like concepts, wire shark, etc. I know people say hands on are the best. Thank you for always sharing advice 🙏
Packet tracer is a good place to start and their are a lot of free youtube videos. CCNA contains a lot of good knowledge

You can, but like it’s not a good use unless the certification is really expensive

If I have IT fundamentales do i need to take Comptia+ or just Security+ to get to Cyber Security?
IT fundamentals is good for a base knowledge, but A+ goes in depth to hardware/ OS. Security+ is a baseline of security for IT systems so it depends on what direction you want to go

I have heard there is ageism in the technology field, is this true? What is your opinion on this? I’m getting worried that if I go into technology I will have a difficult time staying employed.
I haven't seen ageism being an issue.

Does cyber security offer good opportunities to work remotely and abroad? I would like to know mainly about working abroad as it is not unusual in cyber security roles that employers require to check your records, and that I think that can affect your ability to work abroad.
