I can't believe you only have 8K subs. Your channel is invaluable for the budding IT professional.
Wow, thank you!
Great video Nicole! I'm glad I found your channel! 🥳
Thanks for being here!
@@nicoleenesse my pleasure! It's great to find other people that produce content related to cybersecurity! 😎
Great overview!
Thank you!
Great video !
Thanks!
Women in IT, a very few and plus creating content like this, i appreciate your effort. Make a video just for women and tell them how awesome is to work in cyber security and how good is the career growth.
good suggestion, thank you
Good video, thank you
Thank you
This is a great idea for a video (and a great video)! Sheesh.
Glad you think so!
You're the best ❤️❤️
thanks lol
Thank you Nicole. I am stuck between cloud computing and Cybersecurity. I do have some experience and knowledge of Cloud Computing plus Azure administrator associate certificate but I want to shift to Cyber/ Cloud security and currently taking CCSK. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Love your videos! Interested in the cybersecurity field, looking for a certification program, is the Stanford Advanced Cyber Security Program any good? Supposedly I would earn a certificate from Stanford engineering, thanks
Hello Nicole,
I am working as a Tester in a security based company. I am stuck with what I have to choose to start career in cybersecurity
Thanks for making this video. I'm a new student at a Community College Cybersecurity course and I plan on taking a CompTIA Sec+ course over the summer. One weird thing that my instructor told us is that every quarter of the second year of this Cybersecurity course comes with its own cert? I need to ask them more about how that works.
If the cert says (my local) Community College on it, that's going to be pretty worthless, right? No employer is going to respect that
COMPTIA is pretty reputable. Not 100% sure what your college is doing lol
great video one certification that i would like to recommend is the EJPT from INE its an affordable certification and you can get free hands on training with the starter pass in the labs for free im currently working on this certification at the moment maybe check it out and make a review?
It is on my list. I heard it was good to prepare for the OSCP
Thanks Nicole, that was great. i feel a bit confused! what course you recommned for somone who studied software engineering and wants to step in cyber security area?
I would start with Security+ and then figure out what you like. Web Application Development is a huge field
@@nicoleenesse Thanks 🙏
I also have a certificate Intro to cybersecurity from Udacity Nanodegree . so do I need more certificate in order to get the job? thank you .... also I watched your vid 😕😕 its to many but your awesome ..👏👏
Starting from security+, then ejpt, and wgu MS cybersecurity program which comes with CEH.
Hopefully !!! 🙏🙏
That sounds awesome!
Hey Nicole, so I have a question, should I pursue the GSEC, after I take the Security +? My Professor has a job in NY city as a supervisor at a SOC. he wanted me to join him there one day, I plan on taking him up on his offer once I get my B.S. and the certs I mention to you.
If you want to spend the money. I personally have never spent that much money on a certificate/ training outside degree programs
@@nicoleenesse If I get into a company, and they help me pay for it, I would be cool with that.lol
I have a bs in IT and currenty studying for my net+ and then sec+. I already have 3 years of experience as a technician. Do you think it would be possible to get a infosec analyst job with those 2 certs, my bachelors, and work exp?
Yes, make th mump now! You have more experience than you think you do
Hi dimple queen 👑. How can I contact you. I want some advice from you in Cyber security field. as I'm new in this field
Thanks... Great content! I work as a Technology alignment engineer (like standards auditor) and currently preparing for security+ cert. I would like to ask your suggestion what should I study next? NIST framework? CEH? MS-500? CISA?(Too advance...)
NIST 800-53 is the way to go. Every org is setting up their Infosec policy based on unless they are in Health or PCI or finance. ;) NIST is theory and Yes MS AZ-500 is a MUST imo,, it will land you a job easily.
I really depends on where you want to end up. What is your goal?? What job do you want?? Reverse engineer from there. Figure out what people did to get there
@@iMentorCloud Thanks mate for your input. I really appreciate it
Reverse Engineer it is... Like the movie "Paycheck" stars Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman... Just kidding...
I just recently changed career from analyst to technical. I was aiming for Cloud architect in the beginning but working as an IT Auditor now... I am currently undecided if I want to continue as an IT auditor or Push for Cybersec and move to another org for that. I guess I am looking into mastering at least one field not an IT generalist as they call it now
Are there any free practice test for the security+ that u have found or heard of?
Not that I am aware of
check out professor messer channel on youtube. he is amazing and has lots of helpful material. currently utilizing his study groups. he also has practice exams and does questions live via youtube study groups
Good morning Nicole , lets say you have a certification and You have no job experience whatsoever ? where you start the job ? who will higher you ? can you please explain to me I will start even lower rate salary to start and learn and grow your Knowledge ? thank you Nicole ,🤔
Its like a unanimous thought that basically everyone should start with security+. Also you are the 1st ive heard refer to oscp as entry lvl. Its like the gold standard of already having a solid grasp of pen testing. Ejpt seems to be the entry lvl red team cert.
Thanks, I don’t see ejpt very much on the job boards so was kind of mixed
Also, OSCP actually is considered “entry level” in that world. It seems crazy to us noobs but that’s actually true. It’s entry level, AT THAT LEVEL. If that makes sense. It’s a whole different bracket I guess you could say. As for eJPT, I’m doing that now and then plan to do Sec+ plus. But that’s just me :) that’s the thing I think I’ve realized: the path that you want is the one that’s the best! Sounds cliche but it’s true :) best of luck friend
@@nicoleenesse it sounds like from what people say, it’s a great cert but isn’t super widely known and that’s the issue. It’s not to say you won’t get a job, but you may have some extra talking to do to get in the door. Just my opinion based on what I’ve heard :)
@@superkool7 Thank you!
Do u have suggestions for the best cybersecurity associate degree online?
No, but that is a great video idea.
What certificate should I go for as a beginner
Security+
Omg this is scary I literally said out loud 5 minutes ago "I don't know where to start"
Ask and I shall appear
@@nicoleenesse lol 😂 👻
Your dimples 😍 I'm obsessed🙈
awww thanks
If you were beginning with no IT experience, coming from a humanities background, and in second-career mode, where would you begin in your journey toward an entry-level job in the field? I know the question is tangential rather than germane to this excellent video. However, I am interested in making a later in life (early 50s) transition to the cybersecurity field. Related: Is such a goal even feasible at my age? Thank you for your time and consideration.
PS Don't let your age hold you back. Go for it!
I worked with someone who was 60, and a retired teacher. he loved it. He had a CCNA which is what landed him the job. There are a lot of options.SOC analyst would be great place, GRC, Forensics Analyst, IAM. That is a huge question, and will depend on what you like/dislike
@@nicoleenesse Thank you so much for replying to my questions. I do have one more if you do not mind. (If so, I understand.) Namely, if I wanted to be an SOC analyst, and given my stated background, what would be my first step? Thank you, again, for answering my queries and for your time. I am very grateful.
@@ktslittlefaith Thank you for your kind words of encouragement.
@@jeffhirshberg5171 probably security+ in my opinion!
