So many of us are hit blindsided not knowing anything, leaving us alone, venerable, frightened, confused, lost, crazy, desprate, paraniod, and thinking we are going insane or dying. Just know that you are not alone. Even when you find yourself physically and emotionally alone and nobody understands, listens to, believes in or emphathisies with you. Thank you for sharing ur side of happenings. I was alone before reading ur comment and watching this video. Now I feel, I will be able to deal with this, since I am aware now😊😊
God bless you Ms Duward...I'm from India ,and it's so difficult to find someone to talk to regarding these changes,(there are doctors ,yes, but ...)Noone talked about them in my mother's generation and our mothers have suffered in silence...I wish you were there when she needed someone to hold her hand. Thank you. 🤗
You're not alone!!!!! I'm in Canada, and you may be across an ocean but you're still my sister. You need to talk..... we'll talk this way. You don't have to suffer in silence or seclusion. ❤️
Hi, I'm 52 bp1, anxiety, depression, along with chronic foot pain from old sports injury going thru Perimenopause has been absolute horrible. Headaches, sleep is off, and a lot more. I would not wish this on anyone. Very Horrible. I try to hide it and fight it but its all kicking my hiny. In survival mode 😳 thank you for the information. My Mom went thru it in her late 40' s. Mine is later. She passed away 3 years ago at age 84. Miss her now.
I haven't had a period in 14 months. I'm 53. I'm tired alot, mood swings are terrible and bloating. I guess I'm in menopause....thanks for your videos! Very helpful!
Thank you for your much needed advice.... I had loads of symptoms, went to a Dr and she totally dismissed what I was saying.... As women we don't need that, we need to be listened to and have the right treatment...went to my own Dr, he gave me anti depressants which made me 100 times worse with anxiety! So went to another Dr, at last she listened and thankfully gave me hrt!! I was 49, had irregular periods, mood swings, brain fog, feeling hot, anxiety, not sleeping, can't tolerate certain situations, whereas before i did etc etc etc..... As women we need to be listened to, in this day and age some of us are not.... I was suffering, thankfully now with hrt I am 99% better, have the odd bad day but if anyone else is suffering, please seek help....don't leave it....
Thank you so much for your videos!! They are calming to listen to and put my mind at ease. It’s almost as if I’m listening to my mom explain things to me. There’s nothing like hearing a fellow woman explain menopause to us compared to just a doctor.
My sediments exactly. Instantly upon finding this lovely woman I subscribed to her UA-cam. It's so refreshing to hear her explain. What a soothing calmness in her voice that helped ease my newfound frustration of hot flashes. So informative & reassurance to know this is normal. Only now do I get it all the years I would see women fanning themselves with a packet of papers.
I love your videos because they truly do help to put a persons mind at ease. I do believe I’m in the peri menopause stage due to the heavy bleeding and I feel bloated and vaginal dryness and I been having stress and mood swings I’m assuming that comes along with the change. I do wish my mother would have been able to discuss this with me but she has passed away almost 6 yrs ago. So thank you for all your videos ♥️
Thank u Mam for the info..I am going through the same symptoms..anxiety..vit D deficiency, sudden rise in Bp level because of fear..and am getting treated for it..hope it cures early..
I missed my period for the first time this past month and had been spotting/bleeding lightly for 20 days straight! I had an endometrial biopsy and tested negative. My gynocologist started me on Progesterone and the spotting stopped. She chalked it up as Perimenopause. This has been my only symptom that my body is changing. Btw, I am 53!
Hi Marcy Prolonged bleeding, even if it is light, can cause anaemia which can result in other health issues so it may be a good idea to ask to get your iron levels tested at some point. Good to hear that you have has this checked out by your doctor too which is important!
So what does one do when they are still awake at midnight, too hot to sleep, sweating... Look up menopause of course!! This is a good video, clearly explained!
I feel I'm not going to make it thru this....I have severe anxiety, depression, joint ache, PMS...my health is really stressing me out...my doctor's are not helping me , they say I'm okay.... don't find nothing wrong with me and I feel Im dying with all these symptom s....please help😓
It is important to go back to your doctor and ask for help, if this is affecting all aspects of your life then it is not normal. I would suggest taking a friend or relative with you next time for extra support. Have a list of all your symptoms and how they are affecting your life to take with you and get your friend to write down everything the doctor says, this often gets better results. You could also check out acupuncture as this can be helpful for most menopause situations.

Me too! I have lost 30 lbs in the last 45 days due to constant nausea, even on an empty stomach I throw up. I can only eat light - salads mostly and grilled chicken sometimes. I was so afraid and no one mentioned the extreme nausea! Thank you, you have helped ease my mind greatly!
@@lanasjoynt485 are you still getting nauseated? I always had nausea on and off throughout my life , but since I learned I have a polyp and need a vaginal sonogram, im nauseated more and more . Its very scary.
@@aliciaq70 I still suffer with nausea but it has lessened. It’s similar to the nausea I felt while pregnant - mainly in the morning when I awaken or if I’m eating there is a sudden loss of appetite or nauseated feeling. Eating small meals has helped a lot. Thank you so much. I either felt pregnant or peri menopausal. After watching this I'm going with peri menopausal. I will still follow up with my Dr but it I still very early on

To read your complain I am feeling very sorry. But don't worry I am doctor Kavita. I also described all about Menopause. I'm 39. My period has always been consistent between 25-27 days. A few months ago it was 23 days...then back to 27 days...until this month. It's 31 days and still no period. I have been noticing the last 6-7 months that I have been getting more lower abdominal discomfort/pain with ovulation....and throughout the month. I had night sweats for awhile.
Hi Angelique 39 is still a little young to be starting the menopause although it can happen if other close female relatives started around the same age. Maybe find out if you can and that would give you a clue. Otherwise, all sorts of situations can affect the hormones such as diet, stress, doing extreme exercise, going on a strict diet, taking medication so it's a good idea just to give your lifestyle a check to see if any of these may be a factor. If it's none of these then it is a good idea to see your doctor just to rule out other health issues such as fibroids or polyps or cysts which can often affect periods too. Best Wishes Eileen
@@Angeliques19 It is possible that you are approaching the menopause now. You could ask your doctor for a hormone test and that might give you a better idea as to what is happening. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Kristina Yes, we do know that hormonal changes can affect the skin and getting acne/pimples is quite common! You may find doing some gentle liver work helpful along with drinking lots of plain water as dehydration can be a big factor too. If you are in the UK or Ireland, you could try our Milk Thistle Complex for a couple of months. If you live elsewhere, then taking Dandelion Root or Artichoke can be helpful too. Best Wishes Eileen
I have just turned 46 . In the last 3 months I have felt like a stranger to myself. I have no confidence, I’m anxious all the time, my memory is awful I am losing interest in my hobbies… zero sex drive. I don’t t recognise myself . I don’t have many physical symptoms however… the odd flush and my period was 10 days late this month. I don’t know what to do. I talked to my gp who seems to think I’m too young for the peri menopause?? And he suggests my depression is coming back. But this feels so different. How can I get my gp to help ?
Hi Shari In our experience, many women start the approach to the menopause in their mid forties; hormones at this time can change very subtly but just enough to cause menopause symptoms. Losing confidence and drive is common in the menopause and many women will go through a phase of wanting to be alone or losing motivation or feeling that they can’t be bothered with anything or anyone! It is part and parcel of the menopause and although it can be really frustrating and unsettling it is often a phase that you work your way out of. The changing hormones can really drain you of energy and one of the ways the body can cope is by shutting down your ‘get up and go’; your body is more than likely telling you that it is tired and needs plenty of rest! If you are not on any other medication you may find the herb Hypericum helpful, this is known to help lift the mood and I recommend it often for the menopause doldrums! You could also add in the Menopause Support which is known to help gently raise oestrogen so may help to lift the mood too. Best Wishes Eileen

We will definitely visit our Gynec after the lockdown period but till then your video releived me from stress and anxiety I wz going through .. Thanks a lot. 👍👍💐💐💐
Hello. You have such a calming voice. Thank you for talking about this. I’m 47. Never missed a period, except when I got pregnant. Had four. I have missed a period for two months now. Thought I might be pregnant, negating though. I have painful breast at times, been having extra moisture down there. Mucus. Sorry. Some headaches. Nausea at times and indigestion. I’m not sure what’s going on. Any advice? Tia
Hi Thank you for your lovely comments. Missing periods is often one of the first signs of the approach to the menopause but all you can really do at the moment is keep a diary of missed periods and any new symptoms and see if a pattern appears. At this point symptoms can come and go for a while before your periods stop altogether. Best Wishes Eileen
What follows after a full hysterectomy, i assume you go straight into menopause or is it considered to be post-menopausal, what symptoms to expect and should one consider HRT. A video on this would be much appreciated.
Hi Tracy Ann, Eileen has done a video about how to tell if you've started the menopause if you've had a hysterectomy ua-cam.com/video/dQEnCLyUB90/v-deo.html I hope this helps.
Hi Colleen Unfortunately, I don't know of any safe, over the counter remedies that can do this sorry. The only way would be to have an induced menopause using strong hormonal drugs or having a full hysterectomy, both of which could cause menopause symptoms! If your periods are really bad you could speak to your doctor, they may be able to offer other less severe hormonal treatment which could help to lessen symptoms. Best Wishes Eileen
My breasts get sore before my period starts. Itchy breast. I'm starting to see spotting .. my appetite is very low. I'm always tired, yet I endure my day. My periods are lasting longer..a full week .normally it was 2-3 days. Is this normal. I'm not irritable. I get really hot at night during sleeping.. such discomfort. Joints aches and pains are starting. I'm excited to age. I'm also sad at the same time. Is this normal. I have no one to talk to about this. I am scared to go to the Dr. I'm not getting vaccinated and being denied medical attention. What suggestions do you have for me.
Hi Hilarie Longer periods are quite common as your hormones start to decrease, however, these can quickly cause anaemia which, in turn, can trigger fatigue, poor sleep, low mood/anxiety and even joint pain! You may find a gentle iron tonic can give you a nice little boost - you can get these from health stores. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Doc on 2011 I gave birth to my Lastborn via Cesarean then the Doctor cut my womb by mistake ,and my ovarian tubes were cut as was going to close I nearly died after that I've never been the same was gaining weight, painful joints and body .
I’ve been suffering really chronic anxiety with weird symptoms like shaky hands I sit constantly tenced up my arms feel heavy weak I have balance problems wich come and go .. my doctor sent me for two mri and ent consultant and bloods done all normal so she thinks because I am 50 and my periods are earlier lately she thinks HRT could settle my anxiety and other symptoms but I didn’t no if you can take HRT if you hadn’t acculi started menopause x
Hi Dawn Quite a few doctors will prescribe HRT before periods have stopped but if you a re worried then please do ask your doctor to explain in more detail why you have been recommended this now and hopefully, they will put your mind at rest. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi You can take the herb Devil's Claw as this is known as a natural anti-inflammatory and apply Arnica Gel. It's really important to drink at least 1.5 litres of plain water daily as dehydration from falling oestrogen can be a big factor in joint pains! Best Wishes Eileen
I was pre menopause as in periods where shorter and hot sweat then I got pregnant . Now my daughter is 3 and I have had no problem until now but I did not have a period for 6 months until now I’m in bits get it back I would have love if it stopped and I no not any way of pregnancy. I really tired exhausted
Hi Claire Many women can go months without a period then suddenly get one or more back. This is often caused by issues such as a 'last fling' by your hormones, going on a strict diet, improving your diet or even stress. However, it is also a good idea just to get it checked out by your doctor in case other factors such as fibroids or a prolapse have triggered the bleed. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Mary There's not a lot of info on this sorry, although some research indicates that it may go up in relationship to progesterone levels. However, other issues can affect blood pressure such as anxiety/stress and that can often increase just before a period. Best Wishes Eileen

Im 56 ive been in this shitty menopause for 6 years.i hate it im sat here now feeling like im sat in a sauna.ive tried diet hrt patches and nothing works.iv had enough of this😭😭😭
Hi Alice, if you have had symptoms for so long it is important to see your doctor. Other health issues can creep in such as low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D or B12 and all of these can cause menopause-like symptoms. Your doctor can test for these just to rule them out.
I'm with you. I just felt light headed then palpitions face was super hot.. then I'm cold and under the blankets. This has got to stop. Im 54 and full blown post menopause. My husband's thinks I'm crazy. He said if you just had a hot flash and now your cold. I wish man could feel what we go thur..
Can you get bladder pain(spasms) frequency, urgency and pelvic pain and pressure too? Bleed every two weeks heavy with clots, fatigue, head ache, fatigue no energy, hot sensations sometimes, achy muscles, moody, brain fog, feel like your edgy.
Im not too old but my period stop and i keep checking using the pregnancy test many many times, confusing if i am pregnant, but its not.. i felt shortness of breath everyday and feel pain in my heart and i was so scared of sleeping because my heart pain is more at sleeping time.. i feel better if im awake, so scared of what im feeling i keep eating and taking vitamins..i keep taking iron maybe because of my iron deficiency but its my first time to be like this.. before if i get tired its only muscle pains, but last week my arms so painful, the veins inside my arms so painful same with my heart.. im still young, but my mother start her menopausal problems early at age 42, that is what she tolds me, my brother was born in her manopausal periods..
Hi Jewel Please do go and see your doctor when you can, any heart or vein pain really needs investigating. It may well just be anxiety and worry causing these symptoms but it is wise to double check. I know it may be difficult to see your doctor just now but why not ask to speak to a practice nurse for some advice on what you should do next. The age you start the menopause can be similar to the age your mother or other close female relatives started. Best Wishes Eileen

My quest to you is…. I’ve heard taking prenatal vitamins help. Is this so & is it a good idea to do this for symptoms? Your opinion is much appreciated ❤️
Hi Marie There would be no reason why you couldn't take prenatal supplements but I tend to recommend an over 50 female multivit which would provide most vitamins and minerals in good levels that you need in the peri, menopause and post menopause. Best Wishes Eileen

@@annemariecummings33 That would depend on whether you are still getting symptoms or not. If you wish to consider HRT you would need to discuss this with your doctor. They would need to take your age, when periods stopped and your general health into account. Best Wishes Eileen

I'm 40 and noticed a significant change in mood when I was about 38/39, then started having night sweats again after not having them for so long with fibromyalgia cos I had started taking medication for it. Now I can have hot sweats, hot flashes and tiredness mostly around my periods which are the same as they have always been except they've gone down from the 5 days of bleeding with major cramps to 3 days with cramps and now 1 day mostly without cramps at all. I can have cramps come at other times throughout the month. Another thing I get around the monthlys is the need to pee straight after I've been to the toilet and I have slight leaking every day after getting up from going to the toilet. I get heartburn around periods and new symptom diarrhea, I can have bouts of paranoia, can't make decisions can't focus at all, and vaginal dryness that can last for like 5 days at a time and then go away. I have dry skin itchy skin, hard nails brittle nails It's driving me mad I think the worst thing is not knowing what's going to strike next.Ps is getting tennis elbow a symptom cos I also have that at the moment lol!
I am sorry to hear that you're struggling with all this just now, unfortunately, conditions such as fibromyalgia can impact on the menopause, making symptoms worse. Have you thought about seeing a practitioner such as a Nutritional Therapist? They can often find out what's going on and formulate a personalised treatment plan for you. Joint aches and pains are common in the menopause but can also be caused by fibromyalgia so it can be difficult to determine what is causing what! Best Wishes Eileen

That antibiotics really destroy all my microbes in stomach. Lost all appetite to eat, can't eat at all. Then we go to Gastroenterologist, he says it's not a thypoid at all. Hi Tina This is unlikely to be hormone related after all this time unless you have started HRT or other hormonal medication so it is important to get this checked out by your doctor. There could be a number of reasons such as fibroids or a prolapse so a proper diagnosis is vital.
I am 46, haven't had my period for 4 months now, not feeling well having panic and anxiety feelings, mood swings, not been able to sleep well,, dizzy, lost of appetite digestive problems and lots more. Do you think I can be going through pre menopause or I am in menopause? Please help...
Once periods stop you would be considered menopausal but it can be a bit confusing if, at any point, your periods start again which can happen. Best Wishes Eileen
Is spotting a week after your regular period a sign of starting menapause? I had brown spotting for 4 days after my period last month... a week after. This month a lot of large clots, and it seems a bit longer. I'm 48 and a half.
Hi Kimberly Changing hormones are often one of the first signs that you are approaching the menopause and you are in the average age range, 45-55. All you can really do just now is keep a note of when you get your periods and what they are like, however, if you keep getting big clots it is wise to check with your doctor too, just to make sure that other issues such as fibroids or a prolapse are not contributing to this. Best Wishes Eileen
@@AvogelCoUk I was diagnosed with a prolapse a couple years ago, could that be an issue? What is done for that? I'm also a little nauseous and have been getting headaches. Should I be worried about cancer?? I've already had breast cancer so I'm pretty paranoid when my body acts off with something else. I do have an appointment next week for a vaginal ultrasound, but I'm pretty nervous it's going to be something awful.
Hi Kimberly Your doctor can just check that the prolapse hasn't shifted further to cause the bleeding. Nausea and headaches are common menopause symptoms and are usually sorted with lots of water, a magnesium supplement and just making sure that your blood sugar levels don't dip. Many women are sent for an ultrasound and usually it is just the doctor being extra cautious and hopefully they will put your mind at rest. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi There doesn't seem to be any specific link between the two, it is more to do with how many eggs you were born with. The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 so 48 isn't really considered early; an early menopause is usually before 45. Best Wishes Eileen
I will be 43 in December. I missed a period in the Spring and then the next month it came and I then had blood in discharge for the remainder of the month. Summer was fine and then in July my period skipped. Then it came in August and I bleed most of the month with blood in discharge again. I stopped about a week ago and now I have the blood in discharge again. It's not a Flow it's blood in a mucus like discharge. Could it be vitamin levels like you mentioned? I have been inside a lot because of COVID. Is it perimenopause? I do have fibroid. 3 to be exact, but my cycles aren't heavy. Just irregular. Is an MRI necessary since my gyn could not do a biopsy? We think my largest fibroid of 5.7 is blocking my cervic. She couldn't enter my cervix because of this and so I am going for an MRI on Monday. I really need a second opinion.
Hi Denise This could happen for a number of reasons such as the fibroids growing, hormones fluctuating as you approach the menopause or even lifestyle events such as going on a diet, changing your diet or being ill. Good to hear that you are getting this checked out as your doctor should be able to tell you what the trigger is. Hope all goes well for you. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi, I'm 43,is that too young for perimenopause? I have had alot changes in the last 3 years, with weight, skin, hair, periods, anxiety, mood, even things I never had before, nails brittle, dry eyes, sensitive skin on my hands, like feeling a hurt easier, like if u hit ur hand off something,it would hurt more, dry skin, memory , ECT,I mean the doctor seems to over look it,but we know ourselves best, the changes happening.👍
Hi Rebecca The average age is 45-55 but quite a few women start earlier especially if other close female relatives started around the same age. Has your doctor tested you for low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12? These can appear in the peri-menopause and all of them can cause a combination of similar symptoms. It may be a good idea to get tested just to rule them out.
I am a 46 year old female from Australia. My symptoms started not having a period for two months. Then I had two and half days of heavy bleeding. I have had fatigue, exhausted, depressed, anxiety, hot flashes and sleepless nights. I have felt the last 2 from age 40. I have had joint aches and pains as well, I’ve also had lack of sex drive and being hormonal. My doctor says I’m too early for premenopausal. And my virginal area is dry also. Length has changed as well, my iron levels are low. I had Thyroidectomy back in May 2022 and I am a type 1 diabetic. I feel that my doctor doesn’t think I am Perimenopausal. Though asking some of my older lady friends, they do believe I am. But we all know every female is different. Do you have any advice or in put you can give. Thanks
Hi Mel The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 but a small number of women can start a lot earlier, especially if other close female relatives started around the same age. We do also know that some health issues such as diabetes and thyroid problems can precipitate the menopause and also put extra pressure on the whole Endocrine System which can affect the sex hormones even further. In this situation, I would suggest acupuncture; this can be really helpful for balancing the hormones and supporting the Endocrine System. Best Wishes Eileen

Though it’s like he doesn’t want to investigate my health issues at all. I feel I’m getting deeper into depression grr
I’ve had a email consultation and a female menopausal specialist. They have both said I am peri-menopausal however, doctor said last week my Hormone levels are normal. Why did I get my last period normal one last year in October. Then nothing till New Year’s Eve midnight. And bleed every two months since. I felt like I was pregnant, due to the kicking and moving. Home pregnancy tests were negative, a friend said she got pregnant being perimenopause. So I am confused, I’ve had all the symptoms like joint and pain muscle. Bleeding is long and heavy too. Hot flashes are worse than they were 4 years ago. Has anyone gone through this? I am however getting an ultrasound done soon, and then I will know more. Any advice please, would be appreciated thanks
Question: is there any proof that having more children means you suffer either more, earlier (age), or have worse symptoms thank those with fewer births?
Hi Garcia, no, it’s more to do with lifestyle, diet and your general health, it can also be hereditary so how your gran, mum, aunties, older sisters etc went through the menopause can indicate how you may fare, but it is not a guarantee.

I had a hysterectomy back in 2011 that's when my hot flashes started in full force and my irritability is a high peak . is there a supplement that I could possibly take to ease these symptoms? I've noticed that in the hot summer heat and humidity my symptoms flair up even worse to a point where I don't want to even want to be around anyone because I'm might get agitated and I'm might lash out unprovoked and that's definitely not character or who I'm as a person meaning I'm totally against violence as a whole the only way I would say is as a self--defense like there was no was no other option other than and you were fighting for your life , but other than that I don't believe in unprovoked violence it's as simple as that! what I want to know is that is that is there a vitamin supplement or something that I can take to ease these symptoms before it drives me owver the edge. I can't go see a doctor bcuz a don't have a primary doctor bcuz I don't trust them on the whole they've misdiagnosed me many times before so
Hi Sari You could try the herb sage as this is known to help with flushes and sweats and a herb called Ashwagandha can be really beneficial for mood. If you are not in the UK the best thing to do is go to your local herb shop and ask for herbs that will help in much the same way; they shouldn't be too hard to obtain. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Marcy
Prolonged bleeding, even if it is light, can cause anaemia which can result in other health issues so it may be a good idea to ask to get your iron levels tested at some point.
Good to hear that you have has this checked out by your doctor too which is important!
So what does one do when they are still awake at midnight, too hot to sleep, sweating... Look up menopause of course!!
This is a good video, clearly explained!

I hope you are getting further support x
Same as me 😣
Please get referred to a menopause clinic via your gp x

Hi Angelique
39 is still a little young to be starting the menopause although it can happen if other close female relatives started around the same age.

Can severe acne be another symptom for menopause? I had never had pimples all over my face before until a month ago, and I am nearly 47.
Hi Kristina
Yes, we do know that hormonal changes can affect the skin and getting acne/pimples is quite common!

I don’t have many physical symptoms however… the odd flush and my period was 10 days late this month. I don’t know what to do. I talked to my gp who seems to think I’m too young for the peri menopause?? And he suggests my depression is coming back. But this feels so different. How can I get my gp to help ?
Hi Shari
In our experience, many women start the approach to the menopause in their mid forties; hormones at this time can change very subtly but just enough to cause menopause symptoms.

Hi
Thank you for your lovely comments.
Missing periods is often one of the first signs of the approach to the menopause but all you can really do at the moment is keep a diary of missed periods and any new symptoms and see if a pattern appears. At this point symptoms can come and go for a while before your periods stop altogether.

I had a partful Hysterectomy and I am wondering 💭
I am so excited about this video because I am going through this hell of a time. Arghhhh
Hope the video helps!

Is there anything I can do to bring on menopause??I am 53 and am so over having horrible periods..I just want to be done!!
Hi Colleen
Unfortunately, I don't know of any safe, over the counter remedies that can do this sorry. The only way would be to have an induced menopause using strong hormonal drugs or having a full hysterectomy, both of which could cause menopause symptoms!
If your periods are really bad you could speak to your doctor, they may be able to offer other less severe hormonal treatment which could help to lessen symptoms.

Hi Hilarie
Longer periods are quite common as your hormones start to decrease, however, these can quickly cause anaemia which, in turn, can trigger fatigue, poor sleep, low mood/anxiety and even joint pain! You may find a gentle iron tonic can give you a nice little boost - you can get these from health stores.

Quite a few doctors will prescribe HRT before periods have stopped but if you a re worried then please do ask your doctor to explain in more detail why you have been recommended this now and hopefully, they will put your mind at rest.

What can you take for the joint aches and pains. Very helpful and informative video.
Hi
You can take the herb Devil's Claw as this is known as a natural anti-inflammatory and apply Arnica Gel. It's really important to drink at least 1.5 litres of plain water daily as dehydration from falling oestrogen can be a big factor in joint pains!

Now my daughter is 3 and I have had no problem until now but I did not have a period for 6 months until now I’m in bits get it back I would have love if it stopped and I no not any way of pregnancy. I really tired exhausted
Hi Claire
Many women can go months without a period then suddenly get one or more back. This is often caused by issues such as a 'last fling' by your hormones, going on a strict diet, improving your diet or even stress. However, it is also a good idea just to get it checked out by your doctor in case other factors such as fibroids or a prolapse have triggered the bleed.

Hi dok..is there a sign of higher a blood in the time you have a piriod..
Hi Mary
There's not a lot of info on this sorry, although some research indicates that it may go up in relationship to progesterone levels. However, other issues can affect blood pressure such as anxiety/stress and that can often increase just before a period.

You just say all the problems that I have.
Hi Jewel
Please do go and see your doctor when you can, any heart or vein pain really needs investigating. It may well just be anxiety and worry causing these symptoms but it is wise to double check. I know it may be difficult to see your doctor just now but why not ask to speak to a practice nurse for some advice on what you should do next.
The age you start the menopause can be similar to the age your mother or other close female relatives started.

There would be no reason why you couldn't take prenatal supplements but I tend to recommend an over 50 female multivit which would provide most vitamins and minerals in good levels that you need in the peri, menopause and post menopause.

Hello,am getting to 42 this year and am missing my menses for two months now and am not pregnant
Missing periods can indicate the start of the menopause but at your age other health issues could be a factor such as stress, going on a diet, doing too much exercise. The best thing to do is check with your doctor, they may be able to test your hormone levels to see what is going on.
My mom went through it at 36.

There could be a number of reasons for this, including being on the approach to the menopause, but the only way to know for sure would be to ask your doctor to refer you to a fertility specialist. They can do a number of tests to see what is happing with your hormones.

Although prolonged bleeding is quite common on the approach to the menopause, it can cause health issues such as anaemia and fatigue. It is important that your mother gets this checked by her doctor. They may be able to give her something to stop the bleeding and also make sure that other symptoms such as fibroids, polyps/cysts or a prolapse are not causing this.

Although frequent periods are quite common in the perimenopause, they are not good for you and can cause anaemia.

Yes, aches and pains are very common in the menopause, however, lower back pain can often indicate kidney pain caused by dehydration. That antibiotics really destroy all my microbes in stomach. Lost all appetite to eat, can't eat at all. Then we go to Gastroenterologist, he says it's not a thypoid at all. It's just a bloating, from the beginning it's just bloating, but because misdiagnosed by first n second medical doctor, my digestive system become error. This is unlikely to be hormone related after all this time unless you have started HRT or other hormonal medication so it is important to get this checked out by your doctor. There could be a number of reasons such as fibroids or a prolapse so a proper diagnosis is vital.

Hi Kimberly
Changing hormones are often one of the first signs that you are approaching the menopause and you are in the average age range, 45-55. All you can really do just now is keep a note of when you get your periods and what they are like, however, if you keep getting big clots it is wise to check with your doctor too, just to make sure that other issues such as fibroids or a prolapse are not contributing to this.

Hi Kimberly
Your doctor can just check that the prolapse hasn't shifted further to cause the bleeding.

Is it true that a woman can get into early menopause (@ 48) because she had her first period @ 10 years old?
Hi
There doesn't seem to be any specific link between the two, it is more to do with how many eggs you were born with. The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 so 48 isn't really considered early; an early menopause is usually before 45.

Hi Denise
This could happen for a number of reasons such as the fibroids growing, hormones fluctuating as you approach the menopause or even lifestyle events such as going on a diet, changing your diet or being ill.
Good to hear that you are getting this checked out as your doctor should be able to tell you what the trigger is. Hope all goes well for you.

Hi Rebecca
The average age is 45-55 but quite a few women start earlier especially if other close female relatives started around the same age. Has your doctor tested you for low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12? These can appear in the peri-menopause and all of them can cause a combination of similar symptoms. It may be a good idea to get tested just to rule them out.

Thanks
Hi Mel
The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 but a small number of women can start a lot earlier, especially if other close female relatives started around the same age.

@@AvogelCoUk thanks so much for your reply. My mum went through it at 44, so I am likely to be the same. However, my doctor is a male who I saw on the 10th and doesn’t think I am. I just feel so many changes that have happened, which I did explain that to him.
I appreciate your advice and would take into consideration, of your feedback. Though my doctor I feel has no idea, and won’t diagnose me properly. I feel like I’m on my own
@@Mels_Memories13so many male doctors seem to know so little about menopause, and they have “50s” stuck in their head. I had a laundry list of symptoms and was having the classic stage 2 of peri (cycles suddenly close together) he yada yada ‘d me and said it wasn’t peri. I KNOW ait is, but whatever, my mom actually went menopausal at 37!
@@Puglover130 my mum went through it at 44 and has Cervical cancer, she fought Cancer again for the 5 th time. She beat it of course!
However, I feel let down by my doctor. He said my hormone levels were normal. I’m at a loss, but will get an ultrasound to ease my mind. I did have Cysts in my ovaries and I have suffered with that for years. Though it’s like he doesn’t want to investigate my health issues at all. I feel I’m getting deeper into depression grr
I’ve had a email consultation and a female menopausal specialist. They have both said I am
peri-menopausal however, doctor said last week my Hormone levels are normal.
Ah, ok, thank you so very much for answering!
Hello one more time!! I have another question for you I’m on my second bottle of menoforce sage tablets I’m taking one every night after dinner but my question is can i take 2 tablets ??
Hi Angie
Unfortunately, we can only recommend 1 tablet daily, are the tablets not helping enough?

Hi Promise
Periods can stop for all sorts of reasons such as stress, going on a strict diet, exercising too much or even being ill. All you can do at the moment is keep a note of any missing periods to see if this continues or not but if you are worried then please do speak to your doctor.

I can't go see a doctor bcuz a don't have a primary doctor bcuz I don't trust them on the whole they've misdiagnosed me many times before so
Hi Sari
You could try the herb sage as this is known to help with flushes and sweats and a herb called Ashwagandha can be really beneficial for mood. If you are not in the UK the best thing to do is go to your local herb shop and ask for herbs that will help in much the same way; they shouldn't be too hard to obtain.

Hello, I am 49 and didn't see my Period for Almost 2 years so I thought I was done and finish with it. Then suddenly it came , my Period came. What should I do? And is that Ok?
Hi Cynthia
This can happen to some women and may just be a 'last fling' by your hormones. However, it is also important to get it checked out by your doctor to rule out other issues such as fibroids, polyps/cysts or a prolapse.

Hi am 31 and my period stop after having tubal ligation please can u tell me the reason?
Hi Gado
There could be a number of reasons for this such as disruption of the hormones due to the operation or even the stress the body experienced during the operation but the only way to know for sure would be to ask your doctor. They may be able to test your hormone levels and that may give you a better idea.
