For me, the mood changes are #1 worse peri menopause symptom. I’m 53 and still having regular cycle. The anxiety gets so bad I want to cry and vomit at the same time, for no good reason! I feel like I’m coming out of my skin! All that adrenaline and cortisol also prevents me from sleeping..I never knew a human could get along with so little sleep. My thyroid is normal. I’m on a combination HRT patch. It took away the hot flashes and night sweats, but it has no effect on the anxiety or sleep. I go through periods of depression as well. I can’t cope with the slightest bit of stress or stimulation. I isolate myself and avoid all social situations. Sitting in a quiet space and limiting any stimulation other than the task I’m focused on is my best medicine. I had to leave my high stress job because I was unable to cope. I now work from home with a flexible schedule which has been a Godsend. I suspect my adrenals are out of whack. I eat well, exercise, take appropriate supplements. I cannot take SSRIS due to side effects. I recently started Ashwagandha which I think is helping take edge off the intensity of the anxiety and tension. My body aches and extreme fatigue come and go. This is a great channel, thank you! Just knowing I’m not alone is very therapeutic! Hugs to all!
Hi I'm sorry to hear that you've struggled with this but great that you're looking after yourself well as this will help. You could think about adding the herb Maca in, this is really good for calming and strengthening the adrenals (I used this mix for a while myself and found it worked really well). Best Wishes Eileen

I never was a worrier and wouldn't ponder over things but lately I'm going into through a roller coaster of overthinking and worrying which is getting blown out of proportion. Hi Marcia Chest/rib pains can be due to a condition called costochondritis but always a good idea to get this checked by your doctor first for a proper diagnosis. Best Wishes Eileen
I'm also a cold water fan too thanks to the marvelous Wim Hof. I need to get back into swimming or at least having a dip and a float all year round but that and breath work helps keep me calm as well as meditating or guided meditation. Turmeric is excellent and works within days if you have inflammation. I had some psoriatic arthritis flare-ups a few years ago and was suffering from inflammation and did a bit of research about natural treatments as the Doctor here just left me to it and the heat in my left knee went within about 2 days and didn't come back. The only thing you have to be aware of is it's a blood thinner and so you have to check with your GP before taking it. It also has to be turmeric with black pepper or it doesn't get absorbed into the body properly if not.
Is there a group or anything I can share on LinkedIn? I would love to share as much as possible. Thanks so, so,so very much for your informative videos. Keep up the amazing work! You're a lifesaver. Love and light from Spain. :) xoxo
Thanks Eileen for the information, I've had the menopause symptoms for a year now and when I have any mood swings I shout out at my boyfriend and and when I have a hot flush I sleep with no sheets or blankets on the bed so now I have heard all this information, of what you do I'll try it out, I've never heard of the pre menopause though.
Boy am I grateful for the part on cognitive troubles (grateful for all of it, but most of the tips I have gotten through already). If I concentrate too long my head gets foggy, if I am stressed my brain takes an immediate vacation, and if I am trying to find my words it just shows up as goofy! Luckily I usually try to be light hearted and say "oh, it just floated out...it will come back through in just a minute..." I have not tolerated any bio-identical hormones so I am depending on lifestyle and Eileen's tips, and herbs to help me along. Thank you Eileen for this one. Good to see you this week! ~Dee USA
Hi Patricia Many women find that taking a vaginal probiotic can be of benefit, a company called Optibac do a good one. You need to be really careful with what you apply in this area so I tend to recommend organic products by a company called Fair Squared www.fairsquared.com/en/products/intimate-wellbeing-en/ Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Amy For most women, symptoms do ease over time, however, if you are really struggling then other health issues may be a factor. Low iron, underactive thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12 and fibromyalgia can all creep in at the menopause and cause similar symptoms. It may be wise to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out. They are all treatable and could make a big difference quickly for you. Best Wishes Eileen
I’m struggling with UTI symptoms even though I’ve been tested many times all comes back clear. It all began after missing a period then a period came the following month with an overactive bladder. It was Very strange just came out of the blue.
Lemon barley water - warm not cold is very helpful and fixes the acidic level ( I’m no expert at all) I think you’d need to have it for a couple of days. Good luck

Being on a regular routine of taking care of myself such as yoga in the mornings and other exercises it truly does make feel much better with myself and seem to cope with things much clearer. I've noticed a big difference in my behavior when Im not on my regular routine of putting myself first with eating, exercising and hydrating my body that is when my moods intensefy therefore I cannot express highly enough the importance of putting our needs first and taking care of ourselves. Just writing this has made me realize how important for my mental state to keep my healthy routine cause it's also beneficial not only for myself but for my loved ones .
Eileen your advice is wonderful. I'm 44 and I'm starting to see subtle changes maybe I'm approaching peri menopause. It's hard not to be fearful of what's to come 😳I get anxiety and wake in the night now..and I get very fatigued because of this and cognitive issues I do take magnesium in the morning would it be better taken at night? For about a week, I’ve been experiencing burning upper chest (doesn’t seem to be a typical hot flash, because it seems to linger) and sore back muscles. As a result, I’m experiencing anxiety and am not sleeping. Are my symptoms common?
Hi Burning upper chest can sometimes be caused by either costochondritis (do you get discomfort/pain when breathing deeply - this could be caused by the menopause?) or some kind of lung infection and both may affect the back too. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure would be to get a check up with your doctor, sorry. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi I realized your comment was a year ago but I am so happy to find someone I can relate to. I started getting anxiousness out of the blue towards the end of august so about 2 1/2 months ago. Then some days I noticed I would feel a bit down like now happy. I don’t even know why so thought I was going crazy. Now I’m beginning to think it is due to peri menopause. I didn’t connect the dot cause I think I have been in perimenopause now for a few years. I just don’t know why it would hit me now. Maybe cause I worry a lot when I got Covid? I’m not sure. I don’t like the feeling when the anxiety or low mood would hit. It is not everyday. When it doesn’t hit, I feel like myself and happy but when it hits I get a burning sensation in chest and back and would get low mood like joyless feeling and I would feel like I can’t be by myself due to fear of being alone. It is very strange.
Hello, for me the worst symptoms are the anxiety/panic attacks and the rgo and his friends: heartburn, bloating, stomach ache, lump sensation in the throat and the oesophagus, the dysphagia, sore throat, fatigue...and so on...everyday
The top 5 I can relate too. Anxiety and nervousness is my main symptoms. I’ve also read that this could also be due to the merina coil. Due to get this removed soon.
Hi Hollie For some women approaching the menopause, the Mirena Coil could contribute to low oestrogen symptoms so you may feel better once it's removed. Best Wishes Eileen
I was diagnosed with perimenopause. I'm 49 and am looking forward to menopause completely stopping my periods, which I hope are before age 50 because I've been menstruating since age 12. God please take the pain away. I have hot flashes sometimes, insomnia, heart palpitations, dehydration, cramps, weight gain, heavy periods that last 7 days. I thought females are not to menstruate more than 30 years? I've menstruated for 37 years now. When will it end?
Unfortunately, it's really difficult to say when it will end as it is different for every woman. When you stop periods, it's often more due to how many eggs you were born with rather than when you started periods, sorry. The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 so you are in the normal age range for this to happen at some point. Hopefully, it won't be too long for you. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Patricia It could be, but this can be caused by a number of issues so it is wise to get a proper diagnosis from your doctor first. Best Wishes Eileen
HI Dra. I am sufferring indigestion and hurtburn due to hormonal imbalance.. Is the symptomps of perimenopausal on and off? Like, you feel good in the morning then in the afternoon you feel bad?
Yes, absolutely, symptoms coming and going are really common, especially digestive ones as this may depend on what you eat and how you eat! Ask at your local herb store for a Digestive Bitter and that should help. Best Wishes Eileen
I do have regular clotting, sometimes large but never painful just uneasy as I can feel something sizeable has passed through. Does this sound like fibroids? Are fibroids painful?
Hi Sharon Fibroids are attached to the uterus wall so are not usually passed when you have a period. The clots are normally blood clots but if you are worried about this is it best to check with your doctor. Best Wishes Eileen

@@AvogelCoUk no.. I was given HRT prior to the operation.. I am 72 and still suffering.. I was given HRT gel by a Dr at Spire, now my Gp says I am too old. Another GP told me symptoms can last decades.. Please can you help me? x
Hi Pauline You could try the herb Maca to see if that can help, capsules, not powder, and you may also find adding in the Emotional Essence helpful, This can be taken whenever you feel the need, just a few drops on the tongue, so you can take it whenever you go out. www.avogel.co.uk/jan-de-vries/bach-flower-remedies/emotional-essence/
Thank you so much for all the work you do and congratulations on joining the GenM organization. I'm in Canada and we don't have anything like that yet. One question I have for you is, do you ever recommend body identical HRT? I have been following you and I don't think I have seen any of your videos talking about body identical HRT. I understand using the right dose and the right combination could really not only help with symptoms but also prevent very serious illnesses like cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and dementia. What is your take on this topic?
Hi Adriana Thank you for watching from so far away, hopefully, more and more countries will follow suit! Here in the UK, we are under strict control of what we can and cannot recommend on our UA-cam channel. Medications such as HRT and Bio-Identicals can only be prescribed by healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses etc.so we can't really comment in detail. All we do suggest is that, if you are interested in these forms of medication, you do plenty of research and discuss thoroughly with your doctor re length of time you can take it, any potential side effects and what may happen if you stop taking it. I do know many women, including myself, who have not taken any form of HRT during the menopause and are now leading a super healthy, happy life. It is hard work though and not every woman has the means nor time to do this and for them HRT, in any form, can make such a difference to their quality of life. Best Wishes Eileen
@@AvogelCoUk Thank you so much Eileen for taking the time to reply to my question. I really appreciate it! I am currently managing my symptoms in a more natural way. I am taking Vitex Combo tincture, Estrovera and Brain Mood mainly for my Menopause symptoms and I have felt pretty stable with some days really good and others not so much but manageable in general. For health support, I take my magnesium, iron and probiotics in addition to a mainly healthy and nutritional balanced eating life style. I do yoga, meditation and exercise (walking and sometimes HIIT). My main concern is the prevention part in the areas of cardiovascular, bone and brain health which deteriorate so much when we lose our estrogen as well as the progesterone and in some cases testosterone. I will discuss with my obgyn during my next appointment. Thanks again for the wonderful job you are doing and all your help and support you provide on your videos 🙏💕. Lots of love from Canada!!
Hi Adriana Sounds like you're doing all the right things, which is great. Yes, bones, heart and brain health do need supporting post menopause. Looking after yourself well, minimum stress and regular (increasing heartbeat) exercise can all be really beneficial ongoing. I've never been on HRT and am probably fitter and healthier than I was pre-menopause; bone density and heart health absolutely fine! :) Best Wishes Eileen
@@AvogelCoUk I appreciate your words, Eileen. I try to be as consistent as possible with keeping up with the different routines and supplements. Some days are really good and some others a bit different but I am learning to just go with the flow and do the best to stay healthy in all aspects.

Hi am almost 48 when my periods is close to come i get this werid feeling in my body like a current rushing through my body can you tell me if thats has to do with menopause thx u
Hi Dianne Yes, this can happen. The nervous system is often stressed at this time generally and when hormone suddenly drop towards a period this can cause all sorts of nerve issues. You may find taking either a magnesium supplement or herbs such as Maca or Ashwagandha can be of benefit. Best Wishes Eileen
Yes they are the same symptoms. I've has Anxiety disorder for 30 years but got it all under control until peri menopause. I was quite a shock. Thankfully its back under control after a year of panic attacks
Yes, Sharon, periods at this time can come and go, be long or short, far apart or closer together and in any combination! However, just keep an eye on prolonged periods as these can quickly cause anaemia, which is not good for you. It's a good idea to get your iron level checked by your doctor and they can also make sure that the heavy periods are not caused by other factors such as fibroids. Best Wishes Eileen
@@AvogelCoUk Thank you so much for your advice! I can see how passionate you are to help women and how careful you are to thoroughly answer each one. Thanks again!
Hi These are both quite common symptoms often due to falling oestrogen affecting digestion and causing the tissue in the throat to dry. You may find a supplement called Sea Buckthorn can ease the throat and taking a Bitter Herb such as Centuarium can ease reflux Best Wishes Eileen

hoping your still reply to these. My worst symptom by far is the Anxiety. I never dealt with this before. I am 1.5 years without a period and wanting to discontinue antidepressants. (I haven't yet) but this new symptom has come on....Anxiety. I feel like I am going crazy. I want to cry for no reason or maybe because I feel crazy and hopeless. It feels like extreme worry or doom, but I have no reason to feel this way so I can only guess it is hormones. I want a way to treat it successfully without taking drugs or hormones. I am not against taking more natural supplements.

Me too. I don't get sweaty at all just feel a heat flush come on and then it goes away.
Fab tips, thanks Leanne

Got them all. Does the symptoms go away? I can hardly get out of bed. 54 years old.
Hi Amy
For most women, symptoms do ease over time, however, if you are really struggling then other health issues may be a factor. Low iron, underactive thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12 and fibromyalgia can all creep in at the menopause and cause similar symptoms. It may be wise to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out. They are all treatable and could make a big difference quickly for you.

For about a week, I’ve been experiencing burning upper chest (doesn’t seem to be a typical hot flash, because it seems to linger) and sore back muscles. As a result, I’m experiencing anxiety and am not sleeping. Are my symptoms common?
Hi
Burning upper chest can sometimes be caused by either costochondritis (do you get discomfort/pain when breathing deeply - this could be caused by the menopause?) or some kind of lung infection and both may affect the back too. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure would be to get a check up with your doctor, sorry.

Hope these ease off for you soon

Hi Adriana
Thank you for watching from so far away, hopefully, more and more countries will follow suit!

Hi Adriana
Sounds like you're doing all the right things, which is great. Yes, bones, heart and brain health do need supporting post menopause. Looking after yourself well, minimum stress and regular (increasing heartbeat) exercise can all be really beneficial ongoing. Hello...
Is it normal during peri menopause to miss cycles for two months and have a 5 week heavy cycle for the entire 3rd month?
Yes, Sharon, periods at this time can come and go, be long or short, far apart or closer together and in any combination! However, just keep an eye on prolonged periods as these can quickly cause anaemia, which is not good for you. It's a good idea to get your iron level checked by your doctor and they can also make sure that the heavy periods are not caused by other factors such as fibroids.
