Thank goodness for all the great content! I would have probably went to the hospital today if the symptoms got worse today. I'm in medical menopause at 47 and it's been a nightmare from the start. Headaches, palpations, hot cold sweats, panic, achy...I though I was dying. I've been to Dr several times and for sure...nothings wrong. Hearts good, blood..etc. I found that for me, not jumping out of bed right away helps. Resting more in the morning hours and LOTS of water really helps with many things! Gets the insides prepped and ready for the day. I'm in the bathroom every 15 minutes but who cares as long as I feel better! Thank you so much for this and good luck to all! ❤ I feel ya!
I am so happy that I found your channel! I am 47 and have been having quite a few of these symptoms for a couple years now. I honestly felt like I was hanging on by a thread everyday, and didn't know what to do. The palpitations and anxiety where the absolute worst! Doctor visit after doctor visit nothing was wrong, and it seemed as if I had nowhere to turn for help, so I held it all in for these years which caused severe anxiety that made me feel as if I was about to have a mental breakdown. I live in the USA, and raised in the southern part of the country where women just dont talk about the menopause, so I had no idea that may be what was wrong with me. I am so grateful that you are discussing this with great detail it has helped my anxiety so much. More women need to educate others about what they experience in the menopause! Thank you so much!! You have been my saving grace in this phase of life.
Same here already had 3 ER trips and was told nothing was wrong. Anxiety is through the roof. Each day is difficult to get through, I'm in USA , where can I buy your products?
Here in the US women's health is a joke. I'm glad I found A. Vogel. It has been a little over a year without a menstrual cycle so I am in menopause according to my doctor. When I had my first palpitation I was at work and was sent to the ER. I stayed there for 3 days in the hospital; all my labs, heart tests, etc. came back ideal which I am not surprised I've been a health nut all my life. While there I was assigned to a heart team. They said they didn't know why I was having heart palpitations, dizziness and achy bones. So they put me on metropolol tartrate and flecainide, etc. Nobody mentioned or talked to me about menopause symptoms...thanks again A. Vogel.
@@amynack7591 EKGs don't really show much. In my case it showed PVC's and palps every time, but you need a full workup from a cardiologist. Don't stop getting on your doctor until he refers you to a cardiologist. Everyone who suffers with these on a daily basis needs a full heart workup to rule out heart problems. Palps are usually benign, but get a full workup to be sure. A holter monitor for at least 72 hrs, an echocardiogram, and a stress test. EKGs only show heart issues happening at the moment the EKG is being done. That's all.
My acupuncturist said that sometimes, there is nothing wrong with the heart if we have palpitation. It is because the yang is too sttong and the yin energy in our body is too weak in us. Yang heats body , yin cools body. Too much worries, fear, anger stress cause heat in the stomach and the heat goes to the heart, the mind and make us more stress, make the heart beat fast. So we have to eat lot of cooling food to reduce heat, inflammation like salad, cucumber. Cilantto, lettuce etc... steamed vegetables help too. Spend less time with computers, cell phone. Tv... Drink lot of water. Not too much meat, sugar, salt. Vegetables have lot of potassium that slow down palpitation. Do yoga, walk in cooling nature. Do anything that cool us down. So. Salad, cooling food like cucumber bannanas are very cooling. Take cold shower help too. Most of all, pray, pray and find joy in the wisdom, love, protection , blessings of God. Cast all your care to God for He cares about you. He will guide you, teach you.
Thank you so much!! It was the coffee!! I stopped drinking coffee about 5 years ago. I was craving a cup, drank two and about 2-3 hours later I thought I was going to have a heart attack or stroke. I had chest pain that lasted about 5 hours. Also suffered with heart palpitations.
@@jessie9653 I seriously thought it only happend to me. I can not go shopping without wanting to hurry up shopping because i know i am going to get dizzy and start panicking. Many times i have had to walk out if that queue is long.
I found that if I cough" hard"....it helps a lot for the fluttering or skipping. And a good magnesuim supplement with calcuim, potassuim is a must. Also a wet face cloth,(that you dry a bit). That ,you can place over the back of your neck. That really helps at the nighttime, during a hot flush. It also stops the palpitations. The coldness of the cloth,is almost like a "shock treatment".
Thank you for doing this video on heart palpitation. I never new that this can also be one of the symptoms of menopause the talk is always about hot flashes and lack of sleep.
Thanx a lot mam. My mother is 56 now. She is suffering all this from last 5 year. Now it is getting worst. I have tried every cardiologist and physician in my city allahabad. India. They all were trying to extort money with the threat of disease. I was very much depressed and hopeless that my mother is not gonna well ever. But a homeopathic doctor ultimately diagnosed the problem. I was just going through utube regarding this then I saw ur vid. Thanx again mam
Vagus nerve! I've been under the care of a cardiologist and that is one huge cause. As is a hiatus hernia, bloated belly, thyroid issues, and hormones. If your heart is structurally normal (thank God mine is), then it's either nerves being compressed or aggravated, or hormonal (+ thyroid). It's the electrical system of the heart.
So helpful…thank you…I have suffered these since I lost my dad when I was sixteen….in my 40’s they were off the hook and I saw a cardiologist and they said I was having PVC’s…I am now post menopause and I have bouts of them…they are horrid, but I have learned not to panic at least…but still they are disturbing. They seem to come in Swarms…I will be fine for weeks…then all of a sudden I have them for days…then they go away. I am bad about drinking water…so this is a good reminder for me. Coffee I try to have one half cup I. The morning….I will pay better attention to that and switch to decaf. 😊
I had a combination of caffeine soda and anxiety and had the strongest palpitation of my life then searched and came to your video and you said it all. Thanks.
I love your videos, they're very helpful. My only problem is that it seems that menopause and my coffee addiction really don't mesh well together. 😔. Thanks for your help
Hi Kawanna Yes, unfortunately, coffee can be a real culprit and it is best to try and cut down, if possible. It is a good idea to keep coffee to morning times as any taken in the afternoon could affect sleep. You could try organic coffee as this is often better tolerated than the cheaper varieties. You could also substitute every second cup with Dandelion Coffee; it’s not the same but it is quite satisfying - a company called Symington’s make a good one. I don’t believe in decaf, though, don’t really see the point!! Great to hear that you love the videos, thank you!
Chew food really well like 40 or more times each bite and drink water in small sips. Chewing food well does miracle specially for those who feel pulpitation after eating meal. Don't eat much after 6 pm. Magnesium and potassium also help.
Ditto to all the comments. Multiple visits to the ER all those tests I'm currently on a Holter monitor for the second time in two years a 30-day monitor. Notice it after meals caffeine when the sweats come on or hot flashes when I'm doing nothing or when I'm busy some days no problem at all other days torture. Why isn't someone doing something to help us in the medical profession? I am tired and disgusted!!
We as women have to find a good doctor who is also holistic and they will help. Mainstream doctors only focus on pharmaceuticals and not the body as a whole.
How precious Madam ! Had Heart palpitation without any Reason … My Gp didn’t Tell me anything … He didn’t know anything about Menopause….. for god‘s sakè …. HRT saves my Life adjusting estrogen gel it is such a Relief ❤ Thanks for Sharing blessings ❤️⚜️💝
I’m 46 and have started experiencing palpitations. It’s the most helpless feeling. I’ll be seeing my doctor tomorrow. There’s no way I can live with this.
Hi there. I'm 48 now and last year around 8 months ago the palpitations began. Had the heart tests and blood tests and all were fine. The palpitations are still here almost everyday. Comes and goes during the day. Mostly at night and in the morning. I still get concerned because it's a vital organ. Just get checked out and then you can be reassured it's nothing serious. All the very best!
I have heart palpitation for 2 years. I thought I have heart problems. I went to see a few GP and a cardiologist. The cardiologist said I don't have a heart problem. Until now I don't know the cause of it. I m 49 years old and I guess this could be due to my perimenopause. It really affect my life and when it comes (everyday now), I have to sit and rest for 1 to 2 hours. Any one having the same problem like me?
Yes, I too am experiencing this for longer stretches of time now (I'm 51 years old). It started a few years ago in the week leading up to my period (however, not every month then). Now it's every month and moved up a level to during the 2 weeks leading up to my period. My heart beat feels thumpy, sometimes fluttery, I can hear it thumping in my head at bedtime and it makes me feel a kind of wired with an anxiety feeling. It's horrible, so distracting and hard to navigate. I've recently started HRT, so I'm hoping that, with the tips in this video they'll reduce down.
magnesium, potassium, evening primrose oil and anxiety meds are helping me... but with that said- it's still awful. it sends me in to total panic at times. even after doc has said "it's just peri-menopause. not dangerous." still....
I find focusing on my breath helps, practising deep slow abdomen breathing helps to focus and gradually slow down te heart rate ...maybe repeating positive affirmations too . Vitamin B complex & Magnesium are 2 essential supplements to support us everyday ..thankyou for these informative and helpful talks ..much appreciated
yes, I find if I breathe in thru the nose and breathe / blow out through the mouth (ooo shape) it helps slow breath. I think it increases nitric oxide. my friend who teaches buteyko breathing says it increases co2 in blood, widens everything, thereby increasing oxygen. we NEED the co2. ( she prefers underbreathing training, but it makes me panicky atm.) Also humming helps as it stimulates the vagus nerve.
Hi. I'm 53. Just these last couple of days I've started feeling like my heart is beating too hard for no reason. I feel weak (though this may be anxiety), a little shaky, and like I dare not do anything physical for fear of sending my heart over the edge! Even walking up the stairs seems to make it worse once it has started. Yet I have a healthy weight/diet/lifestyle. I am used to having a couple of instant coffees in the morning, could I suddenly have become sensitive to it? Could, for example, a sudden drop in oestrogen levels account for this sudden development? I did notice my mood dip considerably on the same day. Lord this is a tricky roller coaster ride! I would hugely appreciate if you could give me your take on this (even though I know you must get hundreds of such requests!). Thank you so much for all this content, it is so helpful to have access to the information. I sometimes wonder how on earth our mothers and grandmothers coped.
Hi Amanda Yes, to both questions! You can become really sensitive to caffeine from any drink such as tea, coffee or fizzy drinks and a sudden drop of oestrogen can affect the nervous system and even the heart, resulting in palpitations - this can often happen really suddenly, often out of the blue. Hopefully, the tips in the video will be of help for you but it is still important to double check with your doctor just in case it's not related to the menopause. Interestingly, today, women tend to have such high expectations of life, many work and run the family and have so little me-time, so day to day ongoing, self-imposed stress is huge compared to our mother and grandmothers' day. Also, they tended to have a better, more natural diet (very little sugar, no processed foods, no alcohol, home grown veg etc) so this can make a huge difference to symptoms! Best Wishes Eileen
@@AvogelCoUk yes, I have seen my doctor when my heart was racing and have had 11 EKGS, at different times and all was fine, regular rhythm just rapid...he seems to think it's a hormonal thing too.
Hi Norma I like changing my shampoo regularly so at the moment I am using organic ones containing Argan Oil, you should be able to get these from your local health shop.
I was told that I had COPD and after i did the chest X Ray and the ECG was told that they were fine . Many doctors have no idea regarding these heart palpitations being connected to the menopause , thanks for sharing this important information .
😢😢😢😢😢😢I’m soooo grateful for this I get these palpitations and can hear it through my ears… FINALLY someone gets me ..my heart just started to racing for no reason and they gave me ecg 😂tests and other test Holster but never picked anything up so they started to give me blood pressure tablets 😢 WHY?
Hi Good to hear that you found the article helpful! Unfortunately, I can't say why you were prescribed this medication, sorry, it does seem strange if everything was OK. Best to go back to your doctor and ask them to explain why they felt you needed it Best Wishes Eileen
I can hear my heart beating in my ears as well! So hard to focus on anything during the day when you're so plaqued with the palpitations. I wish you all the best.
Thank you for the info it help me a lot, i suffer from heart palpitation, i notice it happens mostly, when my meanstruation is coming ,or during my meanstrution day, im 45 , preminopause, ill take kalms tablet if its really worst, but i can handle it , im not worrying because i know is a part of my preminopause symptoms
Hi Analen Hopefully the tips will be of benefit for you but it is wise to get this checked out by your doctor as well just in case it is not related to the menopause.
I thought i was having a very serious heart condition, was scared to see a doctor n been waiting for the worst but now am a bit relieved. Where is this thing called Menopause come from? It's giving me sleepless nights
Mine started as soon as I wake up which makes it hard to get out of bed but as soon as I get up and stretch, it got better. On different note, I love your voice, Eileen! ❤
Herb Motherwort help you not to have palpitation and shortness of breath anymore. But do not take all your life. Just stop when you feel better. Eat lot of cooling food like cucumber, banana, steamed green leafy vegetables, walk in nature, stay away from. Tv, cell phone, computer. Take vit B complex for the mind.
Hi DC Unfortunately, the nervous system is often in overdrive first this and if you then add in caffeine it can trigger palpitations. You may find having a cup after you've eaten your breakfast is better. Best Wishes Eileen
Quitting coffee didn't stop my palps whatsoever, so I still drink it. Only 1 cup though. I had every heart test there is and all is normal. Its either my spine (excellent chiropractor told me this), thyroid, or perimenopause. They're a pain in the arse. Magnesium, B vitamins, etc., nothing works. Neither does deep breathing. In fact, I can't even do my breathing exercises during my meditation during these flares of palps.
Please see the UA-cam videos of Doctor Barbara Taylor (aka Menopause Taylor). If you see her videos sequentially, you might understand your condition better, and will also know about options available to you. Wishing you good health.
Greetings from Ireland. Many thanks for such an informative video. I am a man that gets palpitations! Initially, they started when i was on Bicalutimide, capsules for prostate cancer. I had to come off them, but caffeine, wine and stress would bring them on since then. Now,for no reason, they are slowly decreasing in severity. Both my g.p. and my consultant agreed with me when i suggested the palps may be caused by the covid vaccinations that i got. I already got tinnitus from the two covid vax and they have caused a plethora of side effects with people all over the world. So,perhaps that may be a factor with some women.
Thanks so much for sharing your story Gerald. Sorry to hear about the side effects you are experiencing. You may find our Passiflora drops helpful for the palpitations www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/passiflora-complex/ and Milk Thistle drops can support the liver which often helps tinnitus. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/milk-thistle/ I hope this helps!
Getting it alot just comes in the middle of the night like a rush hour even in the morning 😔 then relax the n it goes slowly away true I'm alot stress so true thanks dear 🤲❤️
Eat lot of salad. Cooling food like cucumber, banana, steamed green leafy vegetables then you will feel calm, your heart will be calmer, does not beat fast. Potassium in vegetabkes hell calm the heart. Drink lot water. Cut down on greasy, fried food, sugar, salt. Take vit B complex to nourish the mind, to have less anxiety.
I get them too and went to the ER 3 separate times and they were normal but they never say that it may be perimenopause or talk about it being a symptom of perimenopause at all, thanks for bringing it to light for many women but I suggest seeing a doctor just to be sure it's nothing serious
Hi Rhynda Glad to hear this article has been of benefit for you. Yes, you're absolutely right, it is always important to double check with your doctor. Best Wishes Eileen
You're so right Rynda. Hospitals, ED's, GP's - even endocrinologists are often pretty damn useless in this area - their knowledge-base is close to zero and it is SO frustrating. They NEED to be better educated and more informed and they need to take hormones and their impact on us more seriously. There are too many women out there suffering and wondering WTH is going wrong with them (are they going mad?!), and not enough informed medical professionals to set their minds at ease. These symptoms are really horrible and they can be truly crippling :((
tea and soda and greassy food and high carb food make my heart racing and tingling extremities and shock electric feeling from toe to face. anxiety panic sensation, now i only eat green, avocado, grain, nut , lemon ,sometime bread ( on cheat day before noon) dont eat big meal at night.
i was taken to A AND E one night because of heart palpitations.. the ambulance crew were shocked at the amount of sweat . . checked and no heart problem found . was sp afraid. having lived a healthy lifesyle ( tee total) non smoker. perfect weigh , vegetarian . another great video ♡
I had a panic attack today in the car , first time in ages. I had to pull over , thought I was a gonner this time . I made it into town but was shaking like hell and had a good old sob when I got home. It still catches you out dosent it ? How ever well you understand it. We know it's the adrenaline that is up and down , would it be worth taking Beta Blockers for this ? I find it usually happens when stressed or after eating dinner. An ex boyfriend of mine was given beta blockers for panic attacks. The HRT dosent seem to be resolving this symptom.
If the panic attacks are seriously affecting your daily life then it is a good idea to speak to your doctor. The other thing you can do is deal with the stress with remedies such as the Stress Relief Daytime and, I would also add in a magnesium supplement, 150mg twice a day. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/stress-relief/ Symptoms after meals usually indicate that something in your meal was the trigger. Main culprits are usually caffeine, alcohol, high salt and sugar foods, processed foods and spicy foods; these can all stress the nervous system which reacts by going into overdrive. Maybe do a diary and write down everything you are eating and when you get an attack look back and you may see a specific food or foods that may be a factor at each one. You can then omit them from your diet and see how you get on.
Pray to God is the best remedie for any emotional, physical, mental problems. God bless you. Usually, panic attack is caused by fear, worries, anxiety, conflicts in us not resolved. God wisdom will heal you. Sugar, salt, fried geasy food, processed food, too much meat can cause fear, anger, panic attack too. Eat cooling fruit and vegetables. Drink lot of water, no pop. No soda.

I have a minor heart anomalie that was detected after wearing a 48 hr ecg but said it isn't serious and keep an eye. Gp said if it gets any worse i may have to have beta blockers. I also suffer from paplitations, always have but got noticably worse during peri menopause. I will try these tips, thank you!
I’ve started taking Ashwagandha. A nurse called it “nature’s Xanax”. Takes a few days but my palpitations were significantly less last night so I didn’t have to sleep sitting up. Best wishes ladies.
Regulating breathing and laying down and lifting knees above chest help the palpitations to settle down for me. It seems there is never enough water to quench the hydration need yet I drink it all day. I avoid alcohol which is dehydrating and bothers my head and tummy anyway.👍
PH drops in everything you drink and adding trace minerals to vitamin regimen helped me tremendously with cutting down on my PVCS, after starting detox from heavy metals TRS spray from Coseva they were 99% gone for months. Still have them from time to time but no where near as bad as before.
I’m 37 pre menopause and man I get the palpitations BAD at ovulation & real bad 9 days up to my period. It consumes my life! 🥺 I am so worried menopause will make this work. My cardiologist says I’m good but it sure doesn’t feel that way!!! I’m going to try some of these tips although I’m not yet in menopause. My periods are 50-100 days apart the last few years, with early menopause running in my moms family.
I was in Italy this summer and mostly in water. I felt like a million bucks. Like I was 25 again!! All my symptoms were gone. I was happy and laughing and had no pain at all. The question I have is why though?
Probably because the water and your holiday were relaxing. The palpitations usually come with stress and the fact that you were happy and laughing helped to reduce your pain I would imagine!
I am 57 yrs old and my heart will start pounding out of no where. I went to the ER just a few days ago with this because it happened 3 times in 10 days. They did a full cardio work up on me and found nothing. No sign of heart attack and all the labs were within normal range. This is what made me wonder if this could be a fluctuation in hormones. I have been under a lot of stress the last 3 yrs. My husband passed away suddenly 3 yrs ago and that started the chain reaction of things that have spiraled in my life. I am now living in my abusive parents attic and just trying to survive. So I think stress and hormones is the culprit.
Hi Jenna You're welcome. If you're in the UK you can get Balance direct from us or from most independent health shops. If you are not in the UK just look for a powdered calcium and magnesium that you can add to water. www.avogel.co.uk/food/products/balance-mineral-drink/ Best Wishes Eileen
Hello 👋! I have a long history of irregular heart ❤ beats since I was 20 years old .. Now as an older woman I getting skipped beats all day for over a month now .. Went to see a cardiologist and he said it was all in my head which is not true ! The cardiologist order me a Zio heart monitor which I am wearing now ! I'm going to need a second opinion ... I know that something is not right within my body .. I am also on a beta blocker that doesn't do anything for me ...
I had a full cardio workup; several EKGs, echocardiogram, bloodwork, treadmill stress test, and a 4 day holter. EKGs, holter monitor, and stress test showed palps, but my heart is healthy. I was told it is probably the electrical system of the heart, or nerves being compressed by bloating, etc. My Chiropractor also told me that my back is misaligned and the places that are the worst lead to heart. Going to start getting adjustments 2x week. Also, almost 50 and definitely in perimenopause. Beta and channel blockers don't always make them go away. In my case they don't. Also, I have thyroid issues that could be causing them. Or a combination of everything. If any doctor tells you it's in your head, go to a different doctor asap. That is unacceptable for any doctor to say. I've tried everything under the sun to get rid of them, but still need bloodwork done to check hormones, which my primary doc won't order. I'm switching doctors because he's incompetent. Bloodwork can eliminate a lot of grief and tell you if you're deficient in something or if something is "off". That should've been done in the beginning.
@@GenXer333 Hello 👋 ! Did you have to do any type of exercise to work up to a treadmill test ?? How long did the treadmill stress test take ?? Take care ...
@@user-ni9gk1sv6k You don't have to do anything but show up for the test. :) I got really out of shape during the shutdowns so I couldn't do much time on the treadmill, but even if you can only do it for a little amount of time, it still reads how your heart is reacting to exercise and gives the cardiologist a lot of information on how your heart is doing. The test takes about 40 minutes, but most of that is prepping you with all of the wires and stopping you while on the treadmill to take your blood pressure and pulse. I was on the treadmill for only 9 minutes and I was done. Lol. But, it's all he needed and then gave me the green light to start exercising again. In fact, he encouraged it. Apparently exercise helps palpitations but I'm still waiting for them to get better after exercising for 2.5 weeks now. They're annoying me to no end. :/ Take care too! :)

Hi Rhonda Trembling/nerve jangling could indicate other health issues such as low vitamin B12 so it is important to get this checked out by your doctor as well. Best Wishes Eileen
After a total hysterectomy the palpitations became a daily thing multiple times a day with and without the flashes. I don’t have stress or anxiety but the palpitations were causing them. I found taking a little potassium salt each day has helped (like low salt) The sweats are still pretty bad though 4 years post op. 🙏
Great tip, thank you Helen. Have you tried sage tablets? These are specifically for flushes and sweats and usually work quite quickly. Best Wishes Eileen
I have been to the ER for my palpitations, which can flare up more often at times than at other times. They did not find anything after having chest x-ray, EKG, echocardiogram, and a stress test, as well as blood work checking thyroid, etc. They saw on the monitor an SVT. My cardiologist on my follow up appointment thinks it may be related to me going through menopause. I get the palpitations around the time when I am having hot flashes which is more frequent now, but also I notice them after I have eaten food, especially sweets, tea, or sometimes even after eating a salad, just about anything at times. I really hate them. They are soooo annoying and can mess with your mind.
Hi Gemini, hopefully the tips above will be of benefit for you, do let me know how you get on, and if you have any questions please email - eileen@bioforce.co.uk

Hi Jaya Palpitations are really common in the menopause and many women will experience them at some point. I hops the tips and advice will be beneficial for you and I hope that your medication will help quickly. Great to hear that you watch my videos, thank you! Best Wishes Eileen
Thank u v much mam for this v informative video. I'm 41 and have all other symptoms for perimenopaue. Also sometimes I feel a vibration in my chest area. Is that also a symptom mam. Please answer. I also have dipression. Thank you
I am 49 and definitely premenopausal. I have been experiencing vertigo and feeling light headed. Not sure if this could be attributed to being premenopausal? I do yoga and meditation which which helps with anxiety, sleep and relaxation generally.
Hi Helen Yes, this is quite a common symptom. I have posted a video blog on this and how you can help yourself so please do take a look. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/why-low-blood-pressure-can-cause-dizziness-fainting-during-menopause/
I think this is SO related to the adrenal glands/low levels or fluctuating levels of dhea (and other hormones too of course), and that the DHEA area really NEEDS to be explored and researched further and properly. Most women haven't even heard of the adrenal glands or the hormone DHEA, let alone the fact that the adrenal glands are what regulate our metabolism, immune system, blood pressure (hello, everybody's talking about heart palpitations??!), our response to stress and our electrolyte levels! (etc, etc). This area is so important and so ignored imo :(
Hi Louise Absolutely, we know that many 'menopause symptoms' are a result of adrenal fatigue and that is often why menopause remedies (or HRT) don't help!
Hi I am from India is there any way I can contact u just after seeing your video felt better I am getting palpitations as soon as I wake up pls I want to talk to u
Hi Vicki You should be able to get powdered calcium and magnesium and zinc products from your local health store. Other herbs such as Ashwagandha, Rhodiola or Maca should be readily available and these can all help with stress or anxiety. Best Wishes Eileen
Thank you so much! I do notice that I get my palpitations when I’m starting my irregular periods and when I’m on it. I’m also getting night sweats and hot flushes but they last only seconds when the palpitations start. How much magnesium is recommended for a 46 year old woman who is in perimenopause?
What about the feelings like your breath has left the body and whole body turns cold and white and shivery, and there’s great throat construction, is that that also normal in menopause ?
Hi Shakti This kind of reaction can often be caused by the nervous system going into overdrive (which is really common in the menopause!) so you may find calming herbs such as Passiflora or a magnesium supplement can be of benefit. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Eve, as Eileen mentions in her video you can get potassium in our Balance Mineral Drink product. Potassium can be found in fruit, vegetables, legumes (such as broccoli, spinach, white potatoes, bananas). Or take a high-quality potassium supplement, your local health food shop will be able to recommend a good one to take.
It has been bothering me for 2 days now. It also makes me shaky. Sometimes I also get a warm chest and head. followed immediately by a hot flash of no less than a few minutes. I find it anxious. What can I use best?
I think it is hot flash. Eat cooling food like cucumber, banana, cilantro, lettuce. Drink lot of water. Stay away from cell phone, tv, c omputer. Walk in nature.
How do I know if mine are "pounding" too hard to not be menopause. Now mines are not out of a sudden, it happens if I make an effort... And I am told it might be from covid which I had back on November... At the same time I have hot flashes and dealing with menopause... So confusing
Hi Paula The only way you can tell for sure is to get a proper check up at the hospital. They can do specific tests to see what's causing your symptoms. If you are worried about this, then the best thing to do is speak to your doctor and ask for a referral. Best Wishes Eileen
Magnesium, approx 150mg twice a day, can often help with period palpitations and remember to drink plenty of plain water every day as dehydration can make this worse. Best Wishes Eileen
I'm 34 and me too Sooo annoying lol... it started when I was 32 I noticed right before my menstrual sometimes during and after.... I hop up out of my sleep grabbing water to help them stop
Great to hear that you've found this helpful and thanks for the morning tips; this is really helpful:)

Hi Jerry
You’re welcome, glad to be of help!
I am 47 and going through this as well. many trips to the ER with the EKG showing normal and everyone thinking I'm crazy! No fun at all.
Lots of good tips thank you and acupuncture can be fab for menopause symptoms; I recommend it very often!

Its a awful feeling i suffer so long with heart palpitation, i spent so much at the doc. Try deep breathing it does help.
Donna Jackson what breathing techniques did you use Donna yes it’s and awful feeling I have them as well.
Donna how long did you have the heart palps hun and what has helped you?
I find it really kicks in when I eat a meal.
Oh dear, this is happening to me now, after meals.
Yes wonder why this is
Me too but I have Hiatal Hernia
Me too. WTH!
Do let me know how you get on with the water!

I love your videos, they're very helpful. My only problem is that it seems that menopause and my coffee addiction really don't mesh well together. 😔. Thanks for your help
Hi Kawanna
Yes, unfortunately, coffee can be a real culprit and it is best to try and cut down, if possible.
Have you quit coffee ?
Me too 😩
Chew food really well like 40 or more times each bite and drink water in small sips.

I hear ya, I feel I go to the doctor, pay a ridiculous amount of money and get no answers. It's crazy
Because there is no making money in curing people
We as women have to find a good doctor who is also holistic and they will help. Mainstream doctors only focus on pharmaceuticals and not the body as a whole.
More money for big pharma to treat all symptoms separately instead of one med hrt to sort it all out.

That's palpitation annoyed me until now..please give us more information how to ease ourselves..
magnesium, potassium, evening primrose oil and anxiety meds are helping me... but with that said- it's still awful. it sends me in to total panic at times. even after doc has said "it's just peri-menopause. not dangerous." still....
Yes I went through alot of tests. It was when my estrodial was high and progesterone was low. I found magnesium helped.
Hi Sandra, thanks for sharing.
Which kind of magnesium?
Magnesium does nothing for mine.
Magnesium in walnut
Hi Amanda
Yes, to both questions!

Hi Loida

Herb Motherwort help you not to have palpitation and shortness of breath anymore. But do not take all your life. Just stop when you feel better. Eat lot of cooling food like cucumber, banana, steamed green leafy vegetables, walk in nature, stay away from. Tv, cell phone, computer.
Take vit B complex for the mind.
why can't i drink coffee in the morning anymore? It makes my heart palpitate so bad, mainly first thing in the morning.
Hi DC
Unfortunately, the nervous system is often in overdrive first this and if you then add in caffeine it can trigger palpitations. You may find having a cup after you've eaten your breakfast is better.

These symptoms are really horrible and they can be truly crippling :((

i was taken to A AND E one night because of heart palpitations.. the ambulance crew were shocked at the amount of sweat . . checked and no heart problem found . was sp afraid. having lived a healthy lifesyle ( tee total) non smoker. perfect weigh , vegetarian . another great video ♡
Great observation and question! 👍
No soda.
Such a reassuring video..Thank you..!!! It's so scary when ♥️ starts racing but appreciate your knowledge on this. 🙌🤩

Sorry to hear that you're in this situation Lynn, I do hope things ease for you soon

Hope you get a proper diagnosis soon.

Did you have to do any type of exercise to work up to a treadmill
test ??
Take care too! :)

Trembling/nerve jangling could indicate other health issues such as low vitamin B12 so it is important to get this checked out by your doctor as well.

After a total hysterectomy the palpitations became a daily thing multiple times a day with and without the flashes. I don’t have stress or anxiety but the palpitations were causing them. I found taking a little potassium salt each day has helped (like low salt)
The sweats are still pretty bad though 4 years post op. 🙏
Great tip, thank you Helen. Have you tried sage tablets? These are specifically for flushes and sweats and usually work quite quickly.

Hi Helen
Yes, this is quite a common symptom. I have posted a video blog on this and how you can help yourself so please do take a look.
www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/why-low-blood-pressure-can-cause-dizziness-fainting-during-menopause/
I get this too sooo scary
I think this is SO related to the adrenal glands/low levels or fluctuating levels of dhea (and other hormones too of course), and that the DHEA area really NEEDS to be explored and researched further and properly. Most women haven't even heard of the adrenal glands or the hormone DHEA, let alone the fact that the adrenal glands are what regulate our metabolism, immune system, blood pressure (hello, everybody's talking about heart palpitations??!), our response to stress and our electrolyte levels! (etc, etc). This area is so important and so ignored imo :(
Hi Louise
Absolutely, we know that many 'menopause symptoms' are a result of adrenal fatigue and that is often why menopause remedies (or HRT) don't help!
Yes those are common symptoms

Thank you so much! I do notice that I get my palpitations when I’m starting my irregular periods and when I’m on it. I’m also getting night sweats and hot flushes but they last only seconds when the palpitations start. How much magnesium is recommended for a 46 year old woman who is in perimenopause?

You're welcome!
What about the feelings like your breath has left the body and whole body turns cold and white and shivery, and there’s great throat construction, is that that also normal in menopause ?
Hi Shakti
This kind of reaction can often be caused by the nervous system going into overdrive (which is really common in the menopause!) so you may find calming herbs such as Passiflora or a magnesium supplement can be of benefit.

Where do you get the potassium from
Hi Eve, as Eileen mentions in her video you can get potassium in our Balance Mineral Drink product. Potassium can be found in fruit, vegetables, legumes (such as broccoli, spinach, white potatoes, bananas). Or take a high-quality potassium supplement, your local health food shop will be able to recommend a good one to take.
Vegetables are best to eat if you want to have potassium. Try to est lot of it.

The only way you can tell for sure is to get a proper check up at the hospital. They can do specific tests to see what's causing your symptoms. If you are worried about this, then the best thing to do is speak to your doctor and ask for a referral.
