Hello everyone!!
Thanks for joining me today!
Well, if you saw this video a few hours ago and wondered why on earth there was no description and why I released a video in the middle of the night, well that’s because I goofed - sorry about that everyone! I guess lack of sleep is finally catching up to me 😞
I decided to work on tiles this time as I need to start getting ready for an art show I am participating in in November. The show is being held at the Nottawasaga Inn in Alliston ON
I did not like the way these turned out so I decided to scrape them and start over - you’ll get to see my second attempt in the next video :)

Sorry everyone - I had a late night and I goofed while uploading this video - so for the first 6 hours or so there was NO video description listed... honestly, I really need more sleep! uugghhhhh :(
Kanella leave them the colors are nice and they came out just fine your just not use to how they came out like you said. I do pieces and sometimes I'm unsure about them (both painting and my other artwork) but sometimes I can see that someone else may like them. However I don't do that with canvas, large wood pieces or my glasswork I have to be happy with them. Hope your having a great Monday !
☮️🙏💜
They turned out VERY cool after all!! Love them!!
I’m a newbie at this but I don’t see anything wrong with them. They are beautiful.
I think they are gorgeous, you did a wonderful job.

Different but cool. Perfect for a art/craft show. The colours are vibrant and the pattern is very summer south seas beachy. Great for combating the winter blues! Your dog is such a dog! (grin)
I loves these!! They are so awesome!
They are just sooooo... nice, do not touch them. Beautiful Colors, thank you Kanella 💋❤️😘

They are BEAUTIFUL
Trust me, they're beautiful!
The coasters are gorgeous! I have ordered the mat through your link and can hardly wait for it to arrive!
awesome! you will love it
Love the colors... I think the designs are pretty but I'm like you, if it doesn't work for me, do it over. I learned that from you. You're the best teacher and I thank you.
I like that you made these small coasters. When I get to start doing this I will have very little space so will have to do small items. So it helped me see what will be more possible for me. Love the shimmer in the colors. Wish I could see them in person especially with the pop the resin makes. Bet it’s super stunning.
thank you Lindy :)
I REALLY like it. I didn’t know u could pour on ceramic tiles! That’s AWESOME!
I like them-they're funky mod.Sounds like a very busy weekend. Go Nonna!!Mmm homemade sauce❤️
Nonna is the best! Homemade is the best way to go!
They are so pretty!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Love it!
Love them and that they are all different with the same colors
I like them! :)
Got my mat today!!! Yay!!!
woooo hoooo - let me know what you think of it!
When I do the Dutch pours and those tiles I use a turning platform so that I can reach all areas easy without having to reach over my work. I love those coasters.
Got mine today! Haven’t used it yet but, I know I’m going to love it!
that's awesome
I think they are absolutely gorgeous. 😁😁💓💓
thank you very much
I love watching & learning from you. Your pieces are gorgeous. I have a short story about the silicone mat. I ordered one, it came in a black envelope. My son got the mail that day, wanted to open the package (because he's nosy). Hubby wouldn't let him open it because he wasn't sure what it was. He thought it might be an adult toy because of the package & accessories inside. I laughed so hard, such a silly hubby. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bhahaha omg that’s hilarious!!!
They are gorgeous!

I like the first one you did. For a short time there, it looked like a Thunderbird. The one you did with the gold first looked like a starfish. They are not bad and I think someone will love them. Just because they may not be our style, some will go crazy for. 💖💖💖
I love the coasters! Very unique! Loved hearing of your weekend. I am a canner myself. Juno will really be corny now! LOL have a great week. Oh yea Michaels sale I got a bunch of canvas for my future pours too!!

I went crazy looking for coasters for my sons room. He didn't like anything. I am sure he would love these. I do too. Hey Juno, you just wanted to help celebrate your brothers birthday. I get it. Our dogs help us celebrate daily :P
They all look beautiful, Kanella

Hi, WonderWoman!!!!! Hope the party went well as well as the Tomato gathering 😁. Busy busy busy. But nice to hear how your weekend went. Love them. As artist will only see their own mistakes and we seem to be very judgmental with our work, while others don’t see anything wrong with it. Why is that: I’m not sure, but they came out gorgeous! Never underestimate your work! The Starfish One, I’m pretty positive all Sea Lovers out there will LOVE it just as well. I know I do just the way it is!
awww thank you very much Sylvia - you are very kind
I think they look very Cool!!🎨

Love them all
I was Inspired by your last pour with orange!! Did one with similar colors- 💜💜
I love them
I like them! I am going to try the coasters.
Awesome! Thank you!!!
I am a jewelry maker and I absolutely love those skins. I have a similar mat that I use and they peel off easily from it as well. So it makes my job easier lol.

I love them.
You made me laugh when talking about having paint all over your hands... That's exactly how I am... Paint everywhere 😅 love it though. I'm getting ready to do some coasters :)
I think they are nice!
Beautiful, again! At the beginning of this video, you flashed other coasters. One looked like it had glitter in it. How did you do that one? I'd love to try something like that.
Question: Done my first tile dutch pour and ended with crazing. Used tile I already had, a little yellowish/off white so primed with Kilz (white primer) . Think I used too much floetrol ratio with Arteza paint or maybe it is because the heat has come on and the air quality has dried out.....working in the basement also. Any input much adored. Cathy
hi Cathy - i honestly cannot tell you why you had this issue. It could be a number of reasons... temperature.. the way you mixed your paints, etc etc
@Kanella Ciraco Art
What do you use to seal the coasters?

Where do u get top of coaster from iv checked your Amazon you only have the back part
The coaster is from Rona (in Canada) which the no longer sell. Any hardware store should have these ceramic tiles.
Kanella, never did coasters but I like them. I know you are going to do a redo, but you're the boss. You do what you think is best. I'm sure you'll be fine and have a great time doing it. Love and kisses to Juno.
thanks so much hun - and yes, i scraped them LOL
the second go around turned out much better - stay tuned on Wednesday for that video lol
I think they are beautiful. The one with the large white spot I would toss a bit more of one of the other colors on top(maybe one that isn't showing as much?) Cool video!
How do you finish off the back of the tiles? Not only to make them look good but so that they don't scratch the surface it's used on
I add a cork backing. I have them listed in my amazon shop. Link is in the description below my video
I really love those!! The starfish looking one needs more purple I think tho lol but other than that they looks amazing!

Don’t know where to put the discount code.
How much do you sell them for?
I dont sell them... you have to go to lolivefe.com and order there. Add the code 'Kanella5' there - they are $39.99 and you can save $5 bucks with the code
Oops, nothing listed below.

What do you seal them with?
They are cool.
Do you do any prep work to the tiles before you pour..ie cleaning etc?
no cleaning... i just tape the backs
I really like them, pretty.
Beautiful!! What do you use to seal these,
Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish?
Krystal Resin
Another Stupid Q., The Tiles are ceramic gloss finished it seems, will the paint (Long Run) stay in place ? What I mean is will the paint stick to the slick surface ?
The Tile with the yellow/white
(Top Right) is my favorite ! Thanks
no stupid questions here - just learning questions :)
yes, the paint will stick to the glossy tile :)

How do you finish off the ceramic tile coasters? I'm thinking that a set would make a good holiday gift for family and friends.
i use resin
@@KanellaCiracoArt do you put anything on the bottom of the tile coasters so they don't scratch furniture?
love the dog stories. I have 3 dogs and one named Hairy Houndini because he is an escape artist
hahah gotta love that
Hey Kanella: About how long do you let your coaster dry before resining them? And how long for the resin to dry. I love these, thank you.
I love the Extreme Sheen by Deco Art!! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m always a mess!
When there is so much paint on the coaster, how do you get the paint to keep its design? I recently did some & when I checked on them the next morning the nice designs/patterns had disappeared!
They must be fully level
Where do you get your tiles?
Do you sand the coasters first? Won’t the design peel off?
Nope
I like them.
I'm a little late to the party, but what are those red rings you're using to hold your coasters? It looks like they probably store flat, which is awesome!
Just found out I am getting my new silicone mat today!!! I think the coasters look just fine!
Love the coasters sounds like Juno had a great time at the party lol the craft show in Nov where is it going to be
thanks so much - i goofed on this video though - I didnt even have the description listed below when this video got released... I need more sleep lol

the craft show is at the Nottawasaga Inn in Alliston
Question Kanella - where do you get your MDF rounds? I love your work - I did buy the Mat and I love it. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Anne, I have a local carpenter who makes them for me. IF you are in the US i have a contact out in the US who makes them. Email me if you want more info :)
Hello Kanella, I have been watching you and few other acrylic artists for a while. I have been trying out some dirty pours with different kinds of paint. However I am not happy with the colors I have. I wanted to know since I am starting out which brands and colors would you recommend that I start with. I do have plenty of black and white. I know that you love blues and I do as well.
you can stat with artists loft and liquitex basics.. as for colours, that's entirely up to you :)
I love the coasters. Tell me more about the paint you used. What goes on the paint after it dries?
Hi there! Sooo beautiful.. how did you mix the paints on these pours? Straight from the bottle or mixed with floetrol? If so, is if the same way you mix all your paints? Thank you...I’m a newbe...lol
hi Robin - check out my video #63 - i mix my paints all the same.
How do you put cork on the back of the tiles?
they are pre-cut to 4x4" and they have an adhesive on the back..
Love
love it!!! Where do you get the tiles? And the wood circle?
😍
just found your channel and have been bingeing a bit lol, love the coasters - what do you finish them with or seal them with? Have subscribed and will be watching lots of your videos. TIA
They get a top coat of ArtResin
It’s all so beautiful. Is the art resin heat resistant and what is the brand. Would love if there was a British link
I think it was Tara Reid? Pieces of Tara…That came up with a new to me idea - instead of taping the backs, use contact paper! Like contact shelving paper! It works beautifully! I keep it on through out the painting and resin processes then peel off after 24 hours. It has a sticky front and then the shiny back that nothing sticks to,
I dont see the link for the silicone mat in the description?
thanks so much - i goofed on this video though - I didnt even have the description listed below when this video got released... I need more sleep lol

@@KanellaCiracoArt aw! That's ok...I was half asleep when I responded to the video 🤣 Love your work btw! Just discovered your channel on a Facebook pouring page...you are getting famous...such a great way to start a new week 😉 Thank you for updating the description 😊
I watched trhe video for the ratios but did I miss your ratio mixture for the white?
it's in the description of that video... i made that video so long ago that I had to edit it in the description...
Who needs cells when you have those beautiful fractals? These are going to look great on someone's coffee table. (Just done my best ever pour using the Extreme Sheen Aqua, Amethyst and Sapphire with a couple of others on black. No fractals though, I have to learn how to make them, they're gorgeous.)
❤❤
Thanks for the informative video!
These are definitely not your usual look, but they are nice!
I like them
Hi Kanella... love your coasters… will make some as part of a wedding gift for my granddaughter’s wedding in Oct. Where do you buy the cork backing and which glue do you use to attach the cork to the tile? Ordered 2 silicone mats tonight... can’t wait to receive them. Blessings! ☘️😊
thanks Margaret - the cork i bought off Etsy - it comes with REALLY sticky adhesive on it already
Thank you for your prompt response Kanella.… I appreciate your sharing. I’d like to share - I went to Lowe’s here in California to purchase tiles today and found the cork with the adhesive backing... 20 inches x 4 feet. ( 50.8 cm x 1.21 m) - $14.07 US currency includes tax. Hope this info. is helpful to your followers. Blessings!☘️😊
Can you do a video on how to do the finishing on the back of the coasters? Also, do you do the large ceramic tiles? I did one & it turned out beautiful but wondering how to finish the back. Do you think the larger ceramic tiles would be too heavy to hang on a wall? Thank you for sharing your talent & knowledge. I’m addicted.
thanks Lisa.. I will do my best to do a video on the coasters. I have not done larger coasters... sorry
