@HOBOTECH - hey man.... guess what??
*_IT’S HOOOUUUUBOOOOOUUU TECHNOOUUUS!!!_* _without the_ *BHHANG BHHANG*
Dude... I wish I understood this to the extent where I could be confident enough to take the leap.
As I’m sure you’re beginning to realize (by the laugh you just had 😂), I watch EVERY VIDEO OF YOURS... But as I’m also sure you realize, your content is primarily crafted to appeal to the end user who’s already “taken the leap,” knows the fundamentals (or more), and are looking to UPGRADE or start a 2nd/3rd/10th solar project... sadly, no matter how many vids I’ve watched thus far, that’s just not where I’m at.
What also puts me at a disadvantage is I live in Bergen County NJ (suburban) and DONT know a single person who has any clue about lithium cells or solar set ups, so I’m literally the equivalent of a toddler being tossed out on the highway by his parents in order to learn to walk for the first time. Spoiler Alert: The toddler doesn’t make it....
I have LOTS of assorted lithium cells here and even a BRAND NEW FULL BLOWN SMART FORTWO EV UNDERCARRIAGE BATTERY that a friend from Mercedes gifted to me because of how enthusiastic Ive been about LEARNING, finally “GOING SOLAR,” and becoming the next Dr. Hobo (except mixed 50/50 w/ someone like Jehu Garcia where I’m turning my 99 VW Eurovan, house, Jeep, bicycles, etc, into full DIY lithium solar companions )... the SMART module sits in my driveway in a $700 crate (Mercedes has exquisite taste) & the lithium’s I’ve been grabbing as they become affordable sit in their happy place while fear and frustration preside over them.
since I’m “only” 41 but living on a fixed disabled retired cop monthly income that barely gets me by like your average senior on SS benefits, i don’t have the cash to just BUY UP anything i need or pay for the education i need.... so I’m wondering if there’s any type of “lessons” you offer or a one in one communication option with certain contributions? I learn ultra fast... one and done for sure.. so i know an hour or so with the right person and I’m on my way. If there’s any way you can assist me, please shoot me an email at - my YT handle (the way it’s spelled here )- AT - protonmail - D0t - c0M - or tell me what email i can use
Although you don’t focus on DIY battery creations, the general knowledge of DC & battery cell technology is the same across genres so any help is huge.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL - LOVE YOUR HUSTLE - LOVE GETTING YOUR NOTIFICATIONS

I put three 170's in series n got EO17( not executive order haha), put in just two got 235w. Tod 1300 one pm, full sun upright tall section at 70° tp earth. Tried another panel same. Heres one: four in serious pair of el sic made -300W but three in series 485w. If IF IF tilted to thirty degrees. If to upright its EO17, over voltage. But its calif. its expected.
Got the 53 qt eb240 too. Stuffs great. Suggest 100' long leads in hilly regions. Hard to get full sun in winters shadows

You’re my “Go to Guy” for information on everything “Solar”. I’m a seasoned gentleman and have lived off grid a good bit of my life. But I’m not tech savvy at all and I’m just now getting into setting up solar generators for my cabin on my small homestead in the Ozark Mountains. I’ve either done without most modern conveniences or ran gasoline powered generators.
I live on a minuscule income and just can’t afford to continue running gasoline powered generators on a regular basis. So I’ve been researching solar power setups on UA-cam and found your videos. I just ordered a Bluetti AC180 to run a small 12 volt refrigerator and some lights.
    Thanks for the videos!!!

I finally got the BougeRV 170v panel that was on backorder(8 weeks), and yes they upgraded to the 180. I placed it on my roof 2 days after the scheduled power shut off from PG&E which didn't happen and never had to use it. I have the same setup to eb240 and a 180v panel(using your links) running a 30 foot mc4 cable, because of the Sun position I get 133w in the afternoon. Can't wait to test it in the summer.

I just bought a BougeRV 100w 9bb panel and like it a lot, I recently also bought an Acopower 100w panel. I like the look of the Acopower all black panel, but like the Performance of the BougeRV much better. Where the BougeRV still gets some power in cloudy or shady conditions my Acopower drops to zero in shady or cloudy conditions. In full sun they both perform great

Towards the end of their last production run on the 170w panels I ordered 3 panels and there was a lengthy delay. I was pleasantly surprised when 3 180w panels showed up! They even sent an item of my choice on a $20 credit for the lengthy delay. Anyway, I ordered another panel once my AC200 arrive so I could get as lose to 700w in series and it arrived in days. Great company to deal with, great communications on the delay with an offer to cancel or wait + $20 store credit.

I have an eb240 and the new AC200 first Indiegogo Edition. I put four 200w Newpowa solar panels on my van. I tried to run all four in series but it tripped the over-voltage on the eb240. So now I split three of those off together charging the eb240 and I left the fourth panel up there as a backup charger for the AC 200 or my other smaller solar chargers. Right now in November maxing I'm pulling 320 Watts I expect to get more in the summer. But hopefully not the Max so it doesn't over-voltage.

Thank you Tom, 'The Solar Man!! Unbelievable..!! After your review of the AC50S and me pulling the trigger (arriving in 1-2 days) , I have been searching for a solar charging solution and thought that one of these might be a better choice than a similar output suitcase model or two of lesser specs in series. I also like the idea of powering cargo trailer a/c... Besides the cabling for rig/dwelling use, would you kindly recommend cabling from your site to direct connect to the AC50S as BRV does not display any..?? Yes, I have pulled the trigger for the complete BRV solution.

Yeah, those tools are really helpful with the MC4 connectors. I can't separate the male and female without them.

@Jake Songster I'm using them on portable folding panels that I do need to disconnect from sometimes. It's a great idea you have but it's too late for me and doesn't apply since I'm not building a solar system. I'm using portable generators. I already bought the tools last year when I bought my panels so it's a mute point for me. But thanks for the information.

Great content! You said the AC200P's voltage range is 35v-150v. Does that mean I would need at least 2 panels to get above 35V?

Hello, very informative videos. Which of your other videos might answer these questions for me? I have an RV & trailer, room for 3 solar panels 42x62, of which one would be mounted on the trailer, for which I’d like to get the maximum wattages out of i.e close to 600 to 1000+. They will then be used to charge a solar generators i.e. a Jackery or the like. I want to mount the panels permanently and keep the solar generator portable, but make it so that it can power up all my RV outlets while being charged by the solar panels or even the RV alternator while driving and house batteries. Which long life solar panels would you suggest I consider and which solar generator would be able to handle the power from 3 high watt solar panels you may suggest?

Thanks for the videos! I bought the Bluetti ac200p and 4 of these 180W Bougerv panels. I'm in Southern California with no clouds. The most I've seen coming in at the peak of the day is about 350W incoming. Does that seem right to you? If not, do you have any suggestions?

I received my panel last Friday. Great deal! Only $149. Only one problem. It was smashed to smithereens when I opened it. I did receive immediate response from BougeRV and they indicate another will be shipped by end of Month (today?). They did say I could keep the smashed panel. I live in Massachusetts, I tested the panel yesterday as it was quite sunny. The panel easily reached the maximum wattage I could pump into my Jackery Explorer 160. The real surprise came when I plugged it into my new Audew 300Wh SoGen ($217 with hobocode). The unit had only 3 bars of 5 when I started. It completely charged in 1.5 hours (noon to 1:30) with an early winter Northeast sun situation. I can't wait to see how the new panel will perform.

@@johnnybravo5625 - yes. The glass is honeycomb smashed but still covers the cells. I've seen hobotech use his smashed panel before. I figured I'd plug it in and see if it has any value. I doubt it would last very long if it were exposed to any type of moisture. I'll send a photo if you want to see.

A broken panel will still work for about a third to half of its rated power depending on how bad it is. The cracks actually cause shading hence the drop in performance. You just have to watch getting it wet.

HOBOTECH Thank you for your quick response. AND huge bummer. I have been waiting for them to come back in stock. I guess the wait is over. I liked them because they used the Sunpower cells and were thicker than average, so hopefully they would last longer. I keep hearing that flexible panels do not last and quickly drop in the amount of power they output. I think Will Powers said it. Do you have a recommendation for a durable flexible panel?

Nice review. Would you recommend running 6 panels on a house and could you suggest (bang for buck)what I should be looking at for a battery bank and solar controller for an emergency backup setup? I want to be able to run essentials such as a chest freezer, full size fridge, led lights and a electric heater if possible. I know absolutely nothing but suppose I should be looking at amp draw for each appliance to determine needs.
