GREAT VID !
SEMPER SUPRA
You missed an opportunity and when you got out the big battery to say I'm whipping out my pecker on or my big black pecron
Maybe your next video review the Biolite a generator powered by fire 🔥 you read that right fire.
@starwarlover1016 you need to burn alot of wood and tend to it non stop to get a consistent slow charge
Good if you were lost in the woods with a dead battery but not much else
Just ordered one. Thanks for your code!
I've had a 20A 3KWh Pecron for 2 years, and it's been rock solid. Wouldn't hesitate to buy the brand again.
very good to hear on the longevity. I have two 2000lfp models just bought before summer of this year. so far so good.
How much use has it seen? Just curious
I’m hoping that big 90 degree cable to hook up the backup battery, will also work to connect two power stations together. They are so discounted it makes more sense to buy more power stations than the backup battery, lol
We scored this unit on an Amazon glitch I guess. Priced at $899 with a $400 coupon. We should have bought several at $499. It ran our air fryer this morning. I am excited to see what it can do. We got the e600lfp for $258 with codes (thank you hobotech). That unit has boiled water with an electric kettle pulling over 1400 watts. I bet this unit will do more than 2200w also. It charges insanely fast from AC. Thanks for the great review. I have watched it several times.
What coupon!? What a steal.
Thank you for reviewing this.
Your reviews are the best out there!!! Thanks for all the great info!!!
Thank u for introducing me to this, I ordered one😊 love your reviews Hobo..
You are awesome. Please consider calling tech support for every product and see if you can get them on the phone and how long the process takes. Just an idea.
Pecron now updated their warranty on the website to 5 years! Great deal.
Wow, Dr Hobo - Pecron even fixed the USBC ports to put out 100W instead of only 64W in the two previous versions of this generator. Thanks for the continued excellent and comprehensive look at these ‘generator’ power bank products. You’re the GURU!!
Pecron website is now showing 2 expansion batteries. The new one, EP3000 is sized appropriately for the E1500.
The old expansion battery is 24 volt the newer one is 48v. You can not use the 48 volt on the other stations. Rumor is they are making a 3600w station thus switching over to 48v systems. I have 2 of the e2000 lfp's but I want the 3600 w station. So I will wait for that and add the newer batterys to the 3600 w station.
This is a really great review. This Pecron has some really nice features. I actually like that it can handle different voltage ranges on the solar charging but I do agree there should be some overlap to the input voltages. Glad you gave it the Hobotech Award.
I ordered one, Thank you Tom
Thank you for the great reviews! Just added one of these to our Ecoflow collection, on your HOBOE1500LFP discount.
Greetings from the coast of SoCal😎
Good Mornin' Professor! Thanks buddy😎👍
I have two Pecrons , the 600 and the 2000. Love them both and have preordered the 1500LFP. Wish the extra battery packs were one model fits all
Excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing. Love the 12v output options and the high amp loads. Jackery and Bluetti are going to lose truck/van/boat/car business to this unit since they have practically abandoned 12v output options in their newest units. The Pecron E1500 Pro also has some very nice 12v output options. For use in my truck/car/boat where I need strong 12v options - I would pick either of these Pecron units over the newer Jackery/Bluetti units.
Super review. Thanks for sharing
I don’t need one now but almost wanted to buy it. Nice sounding rig.
Amazingly comprehensive. Thanks!
Thanx Tom ! TAKE CARE..
Sold . Now I need to step up and get one .
Looks impressive. Only nits are lack of Bluetooth for the app support, and I would like to see another 100w usb-c. But overall very impressed. Pecron has just entered the vendors I look at when getting my next unit.
Great review - thank you! I am VERY happy with the Pecron E1500LFP! FYI: To charge the battery more "gently" using AC 120V at a rate slower than the default 1400W, I plug it into the wall & turn on the AC mode, then plug in a small heater. The E1500LFP will automatically turn on the "UPS mode" and will only send the battery approximately 1600W "minus" however much the heater is using. In my case 1600W - 700W = 900W charging. Something safer than a heater is desirable (perhaps a TV)...YMMV
I really enjoyed this video, It is really tempting!!!
Love the review. Another satisfied Pecron customer here. I've had the E2000LFP and the EB-3000 for just under a year and it generates a total of 4992 wh. Use it everyday and my only complaint is the ac charger bricks. Then again, I bought a second one so I'm able to fast charge at a max of 1200w from ac or a generator as needed. It's been a great company, quick to answer any questions and good customer service. Looking to buy my second EB-3000 this winter to max out at 8064 Wh.
I think im going with the 2000lfp as well. I dont care about the brick, its either going to be charged in the wall at home or by solar abroad.
I have the Pecron E2000 and this thing has a lot of upgrades from that model. The app, the automatic detection of expansion batteries, the UPS feature and the faster charging speeds from the wall. Very cool to see the company is making so many improvements.
so is the e2000 better than this one in the video?
@@joedowdiii Well feature wise definitely not. The 1,500 has all the upgrades I listed above. The e2000 of course is 500 more watts, allows for 400w more solar charging and on the top end has 1000 watts more expandable battery storage space. But the 1500 is cheaper right now I think by 200 on preorder. This one is definitely "better" in the sense of capability and less bugs. The 2000 is just a little bigger.
@@dbrennan1523 ok so for just a temporary storm back up the 1500 should be fine ?
@@joedowdiii This will keep the fridge cool, lights on, phone charged great for any normal power outage. Anything extended and you will need to charge it with panels or a gas generator. You just have to calculate your usage and divide it up. Since I bought my solar generator, everything I buy I look at watt usage now. A fan, a heater, a light, so I know in an emergency how far my battery will get me.
Thank you for the input I ordered the 2000 as I don't need apps and anything else just bsck up power and they are both 899 right now
Professor, that's great video. Look forward to your next video.
Hello Professor Hobo. 93% wow, that's awesome . ❤
I got the e3000 regular lithium works perfect in my rv all I need
I've had 2000 lfp in the bed of my Jeep Gladiator for the past year and a half. Charge it from the vehicle alternator via a Renogy 2000w inverter. It Powers my off-grid trailer, cooking, lights, entertainment, and Starlink. It hasn't missed a beat but the charging brick is starting to fail - very dusty environment. It occasionally stops charging - I disconnect it - try to blow it out - bang it around a bit (yeah bang it around and beat on it) and it starts again. I was going to expand with the 3000 but would still be dependent on the charging brick - so after watching this review I just bought the 1500 lfp instead (used the Hobo discount code and paid a total of $854.00. It will give less total storage but give me much faster charging at 1400w and also give me total redundancy in the event of failure of the 2000 or 1500, I wish there was a way to charge the 2000 from the1500 to be able to eliminate the weak link of the charging brick,
I wish I could be a Hobo instead of a reprobate. I bought this unit based on your review. Received it on Tuesday. Thx.❤ Got the 5 yr. warranty!!
Great Review Hobo! I wonder if Pecron fixed the cooling fan issue the 2000lfp units seem to exhibit.....
I just found what I'm replacing my Bluetti Boat Anchors with. Thanks HOBO!!!
"Bluetti Boat Anchors" 😂🤣😂 💯🔥
One thing to note about the extended battery is that it is a 48V version, which is not compatible with the E2000LFP that uses a 24V battery, so don’t get the two mixed up. I believe the new model is something like EP3000-48V. Also the size of the battery is probably designed to also work with their even larger 3600LFP(?) coming out later. They still could have done a better job with the stacking though like you said.
As for the 100W input, I was of the understanding that was more for car charging and by having a different connector you can’t accidentally plug it in to the high input port and fry your car’s 12V circuit or blow a fuse.
On my E600LFP that has the same two inputs with the same voltage ranges printed (albeit lower total power) I was able to charge with a single 200W 18V panel in the 400W port. Pecron’s solar chargers take up to 30 seconds to kick in so you have to wait sometimes. This unit may be different though since it is 48V internally.
Thank you for spotting that current drop when charging above 80V. I was thinking of getting this to run my office off grid and overpanelling slightly with 4 200W panels in series. Many panels have slightly more than 20Vmax so this is something to be wary of.
Bit of a shame about the inverter idle consumption for using it all the time as a solar UPS. Hopefully now they have an app and updatable firmware that can be improved along with adjustable max charging rate and also adjustable charge and discharge limits for prolonging the life of the battery.
I.say great Scott . This would be cheaper than buying another eb300 battery. Thank HT hope your doing well. Great review ❤
Bore Da (Good Morning in Welsh) from South Wales UK x
Great review. Thank you. Maybe I missed it, will both MPPT controllers charge at the same time (e.g. small and larger array)?
The upcoming E3600LFP looks like a beast. 92lbs. dual 1200W MPPT charge controllers, RV TT 30A 120V output, 3072 wat hours of capacity, 3500W inverter and supports the same EP2000 external batteries as the E1500LFP.
Another great review! I’ve learned SO much from your channel the last few years. Thanks much!
“Get your Pecron” 😂😂. That should definitely be their motto!
Great review, as always. When is the release date as this shows PREORDER.
if you do enough digging they are coming out with a 3600 wh version. I have 2 pecron 2000 lfp, 1 600lfp and the whole river 2 line. These pecrons do the job as good as any of the big names. Plus the AC efficiency on the 2000lfp models are at or above 90%
Where did you read about this?
This is almost perfect for me except I'm hoping they add DC-DC charging at a faster rate than the lighter plug.
Or a second MPPT input that takes more than 100 Watts so that I can run Panels on one side and an external DC to DC charger on the second port.
I 2nd this. Where did you hear about the 3600wh version?
This is the second mentioned of this I've seen and asked the same question but no replies. Google didn't produce any results either @@that1guyscamaro
I fancied a Jackery but settled on pulling an Anker off the shelves. But maybe I could have felt somebody's Pecron.
Keep your PECR ON up 😉

@@HOBOTECHthanks for the tip, it worked!
This was down to $699 up to June 1st. Now the price is $759, which is still an awesome deal.
will the 12v cig outlet maintain voltage as the battery goes down below half? Great job as always, Thanks for all You do
If you wire your home heater with a plug and switch you can get around 6 hours of heat during an outage from this unit.
We have the full 7.7kwh setup and have been testing it for about 1-2 weeks, we really like it
also have the full 8kwh e2000lfp and have had it on our channel for 1 year.
We enjoy our pecron products, they are going in the right direction.
Nice!
It's nice you can hook up more then one extra battery up to it.
I'm so grateful for your help on all your videos I just hope you see my message and understand.
Hi I'm Anthony and I live in subsidize housing with my fiance and son, I use a ebike to get around from work and home groceries etc but I recently got out of the hospital because of a hit and run from a lady that wasn't paying attention to me in the bike lane. The police calls it a blind spot were I was hit and there was nothing they could do, now I owe my hospital $2,000 in bills and my bike got ruined from this mess. I don't ask for hand outs just someone to please understand my situation and acknowledge my unfortunate experience and have a kind heart.
Thank you for reading.
i might buy one looks very interresting i am in Canada
It looks like you can turn the expansion battery vertical so their logo faces up, is looks like the height of the expa sion is the same size as the depth of the main unit...yeah, it will be top heavy and want to fall over
Please consider adding repair details to your 'solar generator' reviews. Specifically, where does it get sent for repairs? And who pays for shipping? Both ways? One way?
Great informative video presentation thought I would get one only to find there is no UK 240v version😔
The major flaw in this is the two solar charge ports. If you have two 12V 200W panels you can’t get maximum benefit from your panels. If you run them in series your at 24V which isn’t enough to trigger the minimum required 32V for the main charge controller. So you need to use the smaller port which is limited to 100W.
You have to make sure you match your panels to this. Not the other way around.
Just get a extra panel. You won’t even get the max 400w of charging with 2 200 watts because of efficiency. 3 will max out the charging capabilities even on a slight cloudy day.
I currently have 2 100 watt panels in series connected and it is charging on a somewhat overcast day at 100 watts
IMHO this is the clear winner over similar sized Jackery, Ecoflow, and Bluetti
2 solar input valuable. You can use portable ehen on the road.
Hey Hobo Tech...I purchased the LFP 2000 in black on black earlier this year 🎉❤...im still building up my 1600 watts of solar input..I did buy the 3 year extra warranty from Amazon...is this unit better? I see the new model has an application now.❣️If any issues ..i think..i can return it or have it replaced..Great review Brother😢 💪🇺🇸🙏
Would you recommend installing this in an older RV (30a) in place of its house batteries or replacing the old LA batteries for a decent LFP setup? Don't want to fry anything if the alternator or generator tries to charge it, so would likely just wire it up to solar when boondocking or or its 110v charger when plugged in at campgrounds. I built my own "solar generator" using a 200ah battery, separate 40a/110v charger, and a pure sine invertor for about the same cost as this unit so just wondering if installing this would be simpler and more cost-effective?
Curious re ups capability....
Let's say the power goes out and the ups kicks in perfectly
But the power is out for a while and it runs out of power and shuts down
When grid power kicks back in, what mode does start in (does it start?)?
Does it pass through power and charge up?
If the power goes back out, is it still running in ups mode? Or do your devices lose power the second time around
Good morning!
Man whips out his Pecron, uses his Jackery, and causes an Ecoflow. Oupes!
Very nice. 😂
Hat tip.
Hi, good review again ! Thanks
Question: has the separate battery got its own mppt so we could wire some panel(s) directly to it along with panel(s) for the main unit ?
Edit: since the only battery model I was able to see on their website was 48V I figured I wasn't able to get the right model for the specs BUT it looks like they have step-down transformers built inside so they can provide the 12V outputs ! ... so from the manual, YES we can plug 400W of PVs directly into the expansion battery through this weird connector which is not an xt60... 😅
Hello. New subscriber here.
Do you think it is a coincidence that in order to reach max watt input for solar charging you had to be somewhat within the Vmp and Voc range for two Pecron PV300 solar panels set up in series? You received the best wattage inputs in the 65-80 volt range.
The battery is out of proportion because I think its more focused on them releasing a 3600 w station. At least thats the rumor. Thats the one I will be interested in. It's good to see the big boys getting some competition. Great review as always.
Can you point me to where you read about the 3600?
Awesome. Besides the warranty it's right up there, certainly value-wise. Glad I learned about the power drop from maxing out the solar input voltage. Is an 80-85% rule of thumb with the voltage useful for most stations with high solar input?
Usually higher voltage the better. This is a rare exception.
@@HOBOTECHDouble-fisted 👍👍
wanted to use dc dc to delta 2 and now i just use second paralel panel and let the 8 amps flow!!! 33v isnt much but isnt nothing
Awesome
If Goldilocks was trying out various power stations, looking for one that was JUST the right size, weight and capability, this latest offering from Pecron would be the one she ultimately chose. It's "enough" without being too much, and this introductory price makes it the very best value in portable stations, at least for the next few days. One of the best videos you've done, as well.
That's going to be the selling point. I hope Others catch on with that cable
Great news from pecron about this model :)
P.S. Pecron has just extended the warranty of the e1500lfp (even if you already bought it) to 5 YEARS !!!!!
P.P.S. Make sure that you get over to the website and register your system today and extend your warranty from 2 years to 5 years !!!!!
P.P.P.S. :)
Where are you seeing this? I'm looking at their website in the US and it says 1+1 under warrranty
Oh nm, I see it now at the bottom of the page. Boy, they're not exactly highlighting that!
@@davidp6839 That is why we are spreading the message :)
@@RamblinBobReviews yeah thanks! Think that's pudding me over the edge to this unit from a bluetti and anker that are similar but this one seems to beat out with ports
Thanks for the video, I purchased one of these. Is it normal for them to make a noise? Cracking sounds when I put my ear to the unit. I also plugged in a standard fridge and it sounds like a faint chirping noise or dripping water sound? Thanks
How well do power stations in general perform under widely fluctuating loads - things turning on and off frequently with wide swings in power draws?
This I think is competitive with the EcoFlow that I got and I think it may be better.
This unit looks great if it is reliable and customer service is good. What is the discharge rate of the battery over time with the unit turned completely off. My Anker 757 loses approximately 1% per day when turned off which I find borderline unacceptable. This would be an importance piece of data when consider storing long term.
Wow.
Looks like they thought, or tried to, of everything.
Finally a decent solar input, 700 watt is very good input especially in a vehicle.
Love the xt60 360 watt output. Was at first disappointment at the low wattage but since you can also use the RV plug for your 12v load center, it’s fine for an extra outlet.
I have 3 improvements to suggest
1) put all the plugs, outlets and buttons on the front, except that battery connection cable perhaps. If I want to use this in my RV/Van, I don’t want cables to be sticking out everywhere. My current Delta has cables on 3 sides, you can’t put that device in any corner.
2) a dc and ac timer. I know it turns off under no load after a few hours. But when does it turn on? My Delta turns on when I get solar in the morning, but I have to turn on ac and dc manually. With a timer I could turn it off at 10pm and on at 8am, avoiding phantom drain. Outputs could also turn on when solar charging. There are a few ménagement options.
3)
4) app is wireless? Isn’t Bluetooth better?
5) dedicated laptop output. My MacBook used a 140 watt brick, but a usb-c plug to actually supply the power. So a 150 watt usb-c outlet for high powered laptops would be so sweet. No AC needed.
6) if not already possible, add a 200 watt mppt to the expansion battery.
7) redesign the batteries plug location. Smack in the middle will allow more mounting/placement options.
8) build a special unit inside one of those karaoke stations, with lights and all, turning it into the entertainment center. I’d buy that for the fancy lights alone…
I just bought the pecron e1500 on Amazon on cyber Monday $899 with a $400 coupon making the unit $499
Also, do I need a solar Bank with an inverter or without any information that would be appreciated thank you. Thank you, Thomas.
We need this in Australia
Are they saying what the time frame is for shipment on the pre-order?
comment on the battery expansion cable. I saw another video where they have the battery on the bottom. They had the cable rotated toward the front not toward the back like you have. That is the cable is bowed toward you not away from you. Not sure if this will work in your case. Their cable could be designed differently.
Hi I was wondering if Pecron supports EV charging where we could charge it at like a level 2 tesla charger with like a Tesla tap?
Looks great! and definitely best bang for the buck but one thing missing to be the perfect option for a van conversion/RV is
DC-DC charging and I'm not talking about the turtle speed lighter plug, which I know is limited more by the vehicle lighter amperage.
Even if they offered it as an additional external accessory with a property connection that would make it the perfect power station
What are your thoughts on using boost converter charger to simulate solar charging.
Or would it be better off using an AC 1000W converter from the vehicle lighter/ separate direct 12 volt connection to battery into to the AC input.
With an ON/OFF switch so you can charge while your engine is running and driving long distances.
Taking advantage of dual charging and leaving the 700 Watt solar plug available for a few solar panels?
Their current 3000 is good and have dual 600 Solar inputs but no Anderson plug.
Great point - I would love to see a solution for this.
Two options: Charge from AC inverter connected to battery or use a high wattage boost converter 12v-48v into the solar input.
No one has done it yet and I think the main reason is liability. They don't want people blaming the power station for issues with the car electrical system.
That's why an official external DC-DC charger that plugs into one of their aircraft connectors is the ideal solution and meets people half way who don't want to build a system but would be able to hook up a car amp.
DC-DC chargers can be hard on alternators if you don't have a surplus of amperage or if you have a smart alternator you kind of have to know what you're doing and ,I guess they assume that at that point you might as well just build your own system and there's no market for it.
I know I'm capable of building my own but I like the idea of a portable power station because I work remotely and out of coffee shops, share spaces, etc
I want to be able to take it out of my van put it on a rolling kart/bag and roll it in with me and charge it indoors while I'm working at a coffee shop.

Professor... I have two E1500LFP's both with two cascaded batteries. When I am backfeeding one, 120VAC phase/bus bar of my main breaker panel with either Pecron, most all of my screw-in base and 4' tube style LED lights significantly flicker. I have a Breville countertop over that also sounds very labored when running off the Pecron. When I run any led lights when the oven is on, the flickering triples. Both units are outputting 59.9 Hz, 120 +- Volts and 2 - 2.5 THD, more or less identical to my grid power. I just picked up a DeltaPro Ultra and have backfed the main breaker panel with it's 240 VAC output and I get zero flickering and no oven issues. It's not an inductive feedback or radio interference issue. Have you run a phase of your house from your E1500 and experienced any of this?
HOBOTECH of all the generators you showed and gave your opinion. Which one would you consider to be the best? I am looking for one that is both AC and Solar but can also use USB and be useful for larger appliances as well.
Did you see the thumbnail?
Do you know if you need to fully charge before first use out of the box or does it not really matter? Thanks for the video!
You always fully charge any battery before first use.
Are the fans too loud when charging it from a wall outlet? Can I change the watt settings when charging from wall outlet? 1400 watts seem to aggressive to the batteries.
New subscriber here. Looking best option for van conversion and like the 12v-30amp output o connect to 12V fuse panel. What is the difference between this 1500LFP 30amp port and the Ecoflow pro Anderson port?
How would you stack and connect additional add on batteries? It looks too close with that heavy gage cable.
What type of transformer / converter are you using to feed the Pecron unit?
Hobotech, can you hook two units together? Seems on sale it makes more sense than buying just the spare battery, thanks
Can you charge the 1550 and the expansion battery simultaneously with solar?
@HOBOTECH. I don't know if the price ever went up and came back down but it's at $899. I got a bundle w 2 x 200W panels and stacked on your code which still works saved me $71. $1346 Mar 2024.
I am thinking the 2000LFP would be better out of the two. I mean for the average joe. Lots of power, and I dont really mind the brick.
I do hope they give it a black friday sale.
Great review as always. What do they call the 30amp connection that this unit uses to hook up into a camper fuse box.
NEMA L14-30. Common for RV 30 amp connection at 120 volt.
I mention it in the video .. XT60
They solar input will be tough for folks like me that just have a hodgepodge of different panels from 60W to 100W to 250W. To really get this thing charged in a day I’ll need to throw together a couple panels to meet the 32v minimum on the larger MPPT controller. I wonder why they designed the E1500LFP with this MPPT controller configuration? Otherwise great features and great price.
E1500LFP Solar Input:
DC5521: Voc 12V~18V / 100W Max /7A Max
GX16MF: Voc 32V~95V / 700W Max / 15A Max
Jasonoid actually saw that the 32v port accepted charge at 24v and the smaller 12-18v accepted 24v as well. So take that for what you will.
@@dfgatorfan Yes the smaller 5521 100w charging port with a 12-18v range does actually support up to 24v. The manual says 12-18v (VOC less that 25v). I emailed Pecron and they confirmed this. Not sure why it is only labeled as 12-18.
could i use a 24v 100ah battery to slowly recharge this? or should i just spend the extra on a battery for this
Would this be a decent solution to run as a backup sump pump power supply? I'm looking for a solution for sump back up for when I'm away for an extended period if the electric happens to go out and I'm not there to run my generator... I believe I have 1/2 HP pump.
Any reason I can't series connect 3 100ah lifepo4 batteries to the dc solar input on the solar generator?
I want to use a power station to power some computers, monitors etc and have them hooked up 24/7 with the power station having solar & ac power connected
at the same time, all the time. This is being done strictly to help lower my electric bill. Assuming the unit has solar charging priority, can you get this unit or any unit to automatically have AC power kick in at say 20% battery power? The goal here is use as much solar power as possible but use AC power to insure the unit never has a full battery drain and shut off.
