You should watch the documentary How Do You Mend A Broken Heart. Also the more interviews you watch the more you see how funny the three of them are. Robin is very intellectual. Read so many books a week. They all had their personal things they went through but they managed to put out over five decades of masterpieces.
You like it because it’s really good music. Makes you feel good! It’s pure aesthetics at a very high level. Nothing weird, degraded or yucky about it. Pure joy.
There's a reason for the distance from Robin [center] he wants it that way because it helps him with the harmonizing, to stay on track. They were all pumped to have Andy there.
If you have not watched, how can you mend a broken heart the documentary about their lives you must do this. You are right when you say there was dissension between the brothers. Barry and Robin fought a lot. They broke up in 1970 because they were fighting over who was going to get the a side of the record. Barry will tell you that Maurice was always in the middle of the feuding. He then performed the song called “man in the middle”, because he was always the peacemaker between the brothers. Life is too short. Barry will tell you he was fighting with each of his brothers when each one passed.
I don't think it would necessarily be called "fighting"....but not getting along well at the time. Think they all tried "tough love" with Andy....& Robin hadn't been living a conventional lifestyle accepted by many.

Many made fun of the Helium Sound. But what the heck🖕 when you sell hundreds of millions of records. 👍🔥There's a great saying, envy is earned, pity is given. 😆
Funny you mentioned (& noticed) their body language @4:35, & the 3 brothers not going near the middle brother. Recently, someone who attended the Oakland concert said Robin did NOT want Andy on that stage that night (he appeared 4 times with them throughout the tour), which is likely why he kept going from Mo to Barry.
Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson were very close friends. When Michael was flustered by the court cases against him, he pretty much stayed with Barry and his family in Miami. Barry named one of his sons Michael in honor of Jackson.
Don't over think the standing positions on stage. They switched it up for every song. Sometimes it was three on a mike, other times two of them together with the third at the keyboards, it varied. You should watch them live in las vegas. You can get the entire concert, or just pieces of it. But you get to see all the different stances, including Too Much Heaven with them singing all three at the microphone.

Barry and Andy were very close but Barry was angry at Andy’s drug addiction and they’d had words about it just before Andy died. Under it all, they did all love each other though.. typical siblings really.
Most of the problems were in the late 60s when Robin briefly left. They had issues with Andy before he passed because of his drinking. He had given up drugs but still drank heavily. His problem with Robin was over their different ways of grieving after Mo passed. Robin changed the wording of Wish you were here and sang it after Mo's death. All 3 of them wrote the original for Andy when he passed. Barry said he would never understand why Robin did that. If you listen to the words Robin sang I understand why he did. It was how he felt at the time. All 4 said that was the best night of their life and it was that night it was decided that Andy would join them.
@@susieq9801 I agree but Barry always said he never understood why he did it. It's a family thing I guess and we all grieve in our own way. I'm just glad that he wrote The end of the Rainbow and Robin got to hear it before he passed.

Andy was my teen crush! He died from myocarditis ( likely attributed to his cocaine abuse for several years). These brothers are among the best of the best. They've written thousands of songs. They have many duets with other artists. They wrote some of the most iconic songs for other artists as well. They're just phenomenal!
The three brothers were so proud that night when their baby brother joined them on stage. Barry has talked about that night in many interviews. Only time Andy joined them on stage because he was gone too soon. Being from South Florida the Gibbs hold a special place.
I would love you to listen to The Bee Gees live medley from 1989 and if you want to hear just how good these brothers were listen to MTV acoustic version of Blue Island.

Always love seeing this live performance, so awesome that they got to sing together in concert. All four brothers so awesome. It was often ssid that Robin only liked to sing in concert and while in studio writing and recording, while the other three would play and sing together just for the fun of it.
Andy was getting ready to join his brothers but became sick with a virus to his heart, no cure and passed away. Barry as a toddler knocked over a pot of hot water on him. He received serious burns to his chest. He was not expected to live. He didn't start talking until he was 3 when the twins Maurice and Robin were born.
Barry probably started talking then to tell the twins to stop crying, LOL! 😂 Robin also suffered trauma in the Hither Green train wreck where over 50 died and admitted he had PTSD for life. Andy's death was just plain tragic. Mo's death was terrible medical malpractice IMO.

@@MugnifyRTS the Gibb family is very interesting, they grew up together. They were really close. They started out since they were little Andy always felt left out because he was the youngest and Robin and Maurice. They were always close and Barry felt closer to andy his look alike. He was the oldest so he was the one that’s always watching out for them.. did you know that when Barry was little he reached over and grabbed a pot of tea and it spilled all over him and he was in the hospital for like two or three months something like that, and he couldn’t speak for two years, the trauma, and look at him now singing nice. But they’re close family.. their dad was a drummer on a group back in the day too.

My favorites go back to before they wrote this song and others for the movie, Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta. They wrote alot of songs for other artists. Please react to "Words" and "Alone". They're beautiful songs. Thank you for reacting to them.
What you saw in Too Much Heaven was them recording the song in a studio! They sound the same in person as on their recordings! No auto tune and no lip sinc.

Obviously Barry seems to have more of a voice with now Andy right there, but how would all of the brothers have a similar voices at all? such a talented family
This live performance is out in the open air whilst 'Too much Heaven' was performed in an enclosed space, so the sound quality would be different. They have made quite a number of live appearances on talk shows with just their guitars and their voices always sounded so amazing like the studio version.
I think Andy like being able to roam the stage and sing with each of his brothers instead of being tied to one spot. This was still the day of wired mics and guitars so they didn't roam much from their spot at all, plus roaming around would mess up the lighting plan if they wandered out of their light. I love Robin but you don't want to get to close to him when he's dancing! You might catch an elbow if he's really into it! Probably why Andy kept a good distance between them! For future concert reaction try Bee Gees and Chuck Berry doing Johnny B Good or Reeling, Rocking, and Rolling. Both are from the official Midnight Special channel and are a lot of fun! This was early 70's Bee Gees in the lull between their initial success in the late 60's and comeback in the mid 70's. The 1989 Melborne concert is also great live performances and the medley segment is a great one to react to.

Andy & Barry had duets with other artists.
Nice that this generation is realizing true quality music and talent!!
Well !! Michael was inspired by the BGs! baby As every body else was in the 80SSSS
We just couldnt waite for the latest Album to come out in the 70 s.
Both this and Too Much Heaven are totally live
Too Much Heaven isn't live.
Thank you ❤
Too much heaven was a live studio recording.
No it wasn't.
The three brothers were so proud that night when their baby brother joined them on stage. Barry has talked about that night in many interviews. Only time Andy joined them on stage because he was gone too soon. Being from South Florida the Gibbs hold a special place.
I've got to say that the stage they are performing on is PURE disco.
Thats wy I love the Bee Gees. They make my Day so amazing 🕺🥰👍
I would love you to listen to The Bee Gees live medley from 1989 and if you want to hear just how good these brothers were listen to MTV acoustic version of Blue Island.
You like it because this music is exceptional. Nothing like it today.
Disco! You either loved it or hated it! I embraced it and had a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing however I get the impression from other comments that something is amiss here. Always love your reactions!!!
Always love seeing this live performance, so awesome that they got to sing together in concert. All four brothers so awesome. It was often ssid that Robin only liked to sing in concert and while in studio writing and recording, while the other three would play and sing together just for the fun of it.
5 I ment Berry and MJ at never land. Soo good
There are clips of them singing a capella on the couches of various talk shows. They can do it.
Andy was the Boss that night...
For this song at least!
@Susie Q yes I knew all that and I agree about how tragic it all was
@@bella-xp7qd Susie hates Barry so any chance she can get to "have a go" at him she does. She trolls Bee Gees videos and runs down Barry any chance she gets. Quite sad actually.
@@TheBrownlj - Leanne, please give me a break. I do not "HATE" Barry. How did I "have a go at him" here in any way that was negative? I did not. If it was regarding the remark about crying babies, because bella said Barry started to talk when the twins were born, who likes crying babies? It was a joke for heaven sake. Perhaps you failed to notice the emoji. You read into my comment precisely what you wanted to see. It's a phenomenon called confirmation bias. I watch and listen to many videos on many topics. It appears YOU must be trolling me if you think I am omnipresent. Quite sad actually.
@@susieq9801 oh come on you said he wanted to start talking to stop the twins crying because you like to tell everyone he was a bully to the twins. You and I both know it. Adding a lol and an emoji means nothing to those that know. I look at many videos and see the ones that comment all the time. There is certainly a dislike of Barry in your comments and total adoration of Robin, very obvious. When I comment it is never anything negative about any of the boys. Dont understand why "fans" would do that, like how does this make anything better, just sayin.
You like live, check their acoustic version of "Blue Island" on MTV 1993
There was no auto tune back then and they still sounded amazing.
Barry Gibb and Michael Jackson were very good friends, so you’re definitely hearing MJ’s influences in Barry Gibb’s singing and songwriting.
Give brother Andy's song Shadow Dancing a listen...and YES Too Much Heaven is on a whole different slow, calm, soft level... w/ a full orchestra mixed in ...
Also "Love you inside and out" by the Ber Gees.
Legends! Andy was my favorite with his posters on my bedroom wall 😂♥️🎶
I saw this concert at the Pontiac Silverdome!!!!
Thanks, Mug! This is totally fun... all brothers.. no better harmony! (p.s. "disco" is also "funk")
Andy can be heard very clearly at 6:13.
Yes he can!
The "Too Much Heaven" video is the actual video for the song, but they sing just a awesomely in person.
The brother in the middle Robin he’s the first one that left the group, but he came back to the group. He didn’t stay out long, but he did come back.
Thank you for pointing out this interesting fact about Robin's journey within the group. It's always fascinating to learn more about the behind-the-scenes dynamics!
And this one that you’re seeing right now that’s live in concert. Can you hear the people lots and lots and lots
So lovely to listen to you do a review without all the crazy acting out and noise like other reviewers. Thank you, I really enjoyed your take on one of the greatest groups ever to come out of the UK.
I'm such a BeeGees fan...I love that you've been shocked, in a good way :). Take a listen to Andy Gibb's solo music...he was definitely a "panty dropper" haha. Check out Shadow Dancing and I Just Want To Be Your Everything.
Real
They was also called the brothers Gibb
This is a live performance. Too much Heaven was a live recording with an Orchestra but no audience. Most live performances sound different than the recording but you don't seem to catch that in other groups, just this group. Why?
This group is awesome.
Too Much Heaven wasn't live, but the studio version dubbed over footage with the orchestra.
BeeGees been legit since the 60's! A deep dive on them is definitely worth it. My favorites go back to before they wrote this song and others for the movie, Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta. They wrote alot of songs for other artists. Please react to "Words" and "Alone". They're beautiful songs. Thank you for reacting to them.
Try 'Stayin Alive' by them, it's great!!
What you saw in Too Much Heaven was them recording the song in a studio! They sound the same in person as on their recordings! No auto tune and no lip sinc.
Their Too Much Heaven video wasn't recorded live, but 27 layers of vocals (mostly Barry's) over the studio footage.
What’s not to like? Amazing!
Greatest music for dancing, running/working out and just listening - and doing CPR (Staying Alive...how ironic is that song title)? Whoa! Been listening to these guys since 1971.
DX I'd give right arm to have been in that crowd watching them in all their glory, the atmosphere in that stadium must've been ELECTRIC⚡⚡⚡⚡
What a Family. Such Talent!!!
Hi friend. Just my opinion. But these brothers started at ages 4 6 and 8. They are so underrated. But thanks for being a young person who at least saw their genius. Ty
That's actually one I'd never heard
Great react
Check out “Fanny be Tender With My Love” from @‘79
A N D Y . !!!! I think there are millions of people who feel sad that Andy wouldn’t join his brothers. I get it why Andy didn’t, but there are only so many windows to choose with not take backs or do overs. Bummer. I wasn’t there because I was born a little later but love them all the same. Such a loss. Only 1 of 4 left. I don’t know how he copes. 🫤❤️ This was one of Andy’s songs as an independent artist. But even on the recorded album you can tell his brothers sang back up.

Sadly, Barry was outvoted twice for Andy to join, or he may still be here today.
Listen to the 30th Anniversary Bob Dylan Bob fest at Madison Square Garden
You need to listen to that entire concert. That was a live charity event sent worldwide. It had the best sound engineers in the world for that concert.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Check out Words 1989 Melbourne and Medley 1989 Melbourne. Love your reactions ❤❤❤❤
The Bee Gees and the Pink Floyd made a huge impact on music.
None of them could dance worth beans.
Sorry, but Andy moved them hips pretty good
