Andy Gibb was my male idol in the 70's. There was no other man on earth that could hold up to him. He was the youngest baby brother to the Gibbs. His life and work was short lived, unfortunately.
@@TheKatdawg65Recorded by the Bee Gees in '77, but not released until '79 on Bee Gees Greatest LP. Andy's was released in '78, so guess you could say he beat them to it! Another interesting fact, on the Bee Gees version, it's Barry on lead with just Andy on backing vocals. Then on Andy's version, it's of course him on lead with Barry on backing!
It's nice to see so many young people rediscovering Andy and appreciating him. Thank you so much. Thank you so much, Andy, for everything you have given us. 🥰🕊️💚 Greetings from Germany.
I dont know what I luv more, you feeling for our Barry or seeing & hearing Andy again with his Bros backing him up.Thankyou for acknowledging Barrys grief😢❤
Thank you for sharing this, I really loved Andy Gibb, so heartbroken he died so young. This is an excellent tribute to Andy by his 3 brothers 😢💔🙏. This was Andy’s song too 🙏❤️🙏
Yeah, it took them a while to work up to this public tribute. Just call him "the man in the middle" -- "Maurice" -- Barry calls him "Mo." Wonderful, uber-talented Mo, as are all of his brothers. He was happy with his various instruments and working magic.
Did you know that right before he passed away he was going to join his brothers and become the fourth BG? Could you even imagine I was in love with Andy in high school I had all of his albums. I am 62 years old and I listen to the Bee Gees every single day and have been since the 70s in this nasty corrupt world. They were living in in 2023 The Bee Gees make my heart happy.❤
That's Maurice on keyboard; pronounced Morris aka Mo. Mo could sing falsetto and you got to hear Andy sing some falsetto in this video of him. If you want to hear Maurice sing falsetto, watch the Midnight Special with the Bee Gees performing: "Nights on Broadway", 1975. I sure miss them all. I really feel sorry for Barry too. He does perform & tour with Maurice's daughter, Samantha aka Sam. RIP Maurice, Robin & Andy. xxx
I've just put your reaction on and paused because I know I'm going to cry... Andy was my teen idol.... yes that dates me but at this point and time... Barry has buried all of his younger brothers.. Andy, Maurice and Robin.. how sad is that... now I'm gonna listen and cry and love
This was Andy's song and they always sang backing vocals on his albums. And Barry wrote a lot of his songs and helped him with his writing. It's so sad that Barry is the last, and him being the oldest accept for their sister, she's still alive and sang with them very briefly in the 60s. I'm the youngest of four and I don't want to think of being the last. It's just sad.
This song was actually written by just Barry & he's providing backing vocals as well. Out of Andy's 3 albums, the only song Robin & Mo sang backing on was Desire....while Barry did on most of them.🎼
"Medley One for All Live 1989".....mind blowing live performance. The three brothers live on stage around one mic. It's totally stripped down. We all feel for Barry. We miss his brothers. I don't even want to imagine how Barry must miss them.
So so horribly sad that Barry is alone now and especially being the oldest. You know it has to be so hard on him after spending his life with them performing.
It’s not hard to find video of The Bee Gees singing a cappella, or with just Barry and Mo’s guitars. They did it pretty often on talk shows. And in concerts they’d usually have a section where they all sand around one microphone. Just do some searching.
This gets me every time! I cry just like it's the first time watching it...I've seen this at least 50 times and the tears don't hold back. This video and tribute is absolutely wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time 🥰💔😥
Barry had his rt his back badly at some point and doing a huge concert tour really hurt. It takes a considerable breath control for the falsetto, so he had to minimize using it. They would do a single one night concert in cities on their tour. Often he wouldn't be able to do the falsetto. He eventually had it fixed with surgery
Maurice pronounced Morris often referred to as Mo! He was a great dresser! Beautiful tribute to Andy. He died so young. Barry was the closest to Andy. Actually Barry’s facial expression says it all.
Remember also that this was 1997, 20 years after too much heaven and all of the 70's falsetto sounds. Nice reaction man, I would love to see your reaction to " staying alive" live 1979 😉👍
You need to react to ONE live performance. You’ll hear their magical harmonies. This was released in 1989 and shows how truly beautiful and heavenly their harmonies are. ❤❤❤
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂😂 if you go to any of the tonight shows back in the 80s or 90s they were always on the late night show singing a cappella. Just the three brothers and the guitar.
Thanx Harri, you're my fav reactor,& I really enjoy watching YOU enjoy the Bee Gees. I dont remember a time they weren't on the charts .I had a huge crush on Andy Gibb & it was a huge loss to me when he died, so watching how you enjoy him .made my day.
The three older brothers wrote this song for Andy and sang backup for him on this song. So this is how it would have sounded had Andy of lived to perform it with his brothers.
Andy was my first celebrity crush as a young girl. I was born in 69. Too young to see Saturday Night Fever but I wore out that album and Shadow Dancing. I can hardly tell the differences between Andy and Barry.
Andy recorded this song when the love of his life, Victoria Principle left. They were the Golden Couple. She left him when he went spiraling out of control with drug abuse. He did plan to get clean for her, but died before he could.😢😢
Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ua-cam.com/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/v-deo.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. It really sucks how the first set of lyrics match so well to what happened, as far as his brothers are concerned. He was just a baby, pretty much. Too smart to know what he didn’t know. And too green to know what he already had. That’s part of growing up. He didn’t get to complete that part. Love you Andy. ❤️
He was younger his voice was his own. There is almost 25 years between those songs. I saw them in concert three times. & Barry & the boys in too much heaven sounded exactly like the video you all play & react to. I saw them early I saw them about ten years or so later & then I saw Barry & Robin after Maurice died. So there was no dubbing over to much heaven. I saw it the same year give or take it came out. It was exactly live on stage as it was in the video all three with the one microphone. So if that helps so you know..
They were good, but the original video of Too Much Heaven is 27 layers of vocals, & the studio version we hear. Sorry, but they were never able to sing that many layers live.
This is one of Andy's biggest hit songs. What a great way to give tribute to Andy Gibe to be able to have the Bee Gees and Andy do the song together just like they did in the studio. Barry was the only one who looked back at the screen when Andy was performing. So sad, Barry looked like he was smiling just to keep from crying.🤓
Mugnify, you are right that "Too Much Heaven" video was not a live performance. It was a totally stage performance. What we hear on the video is the studio version with all the studio magic. Compared to this performance here which was truly live from one of their concert tour.🤓
That's not a fair statement, everyone reacts to grief differently. Just because Maurice and Robin didn't show the emotion you thought they should have doesn't mean they aren't broken over Andy. Grief comes in different forms.
I will always remember this video the way you can see the pain in the eyes of the brothers. I especially get touched by the moment when Maurice is playing the keyboards, and he looks up and kind of just has a sadness in his face. You can see the pain I can’t imagine this is a beautiful song and it makes me cry every time I hear it.
Andy to me sounded the most like Barry... Robin had his own voice that I loved.. and Maurice... played more instruments and had the best harmony ever.. If you don't love this music.. your tone deaf and don't appreciate talent
Maurice and Robin are the twins, Barry is the oldest, Andy the youngest, so youngest died first, oldest died last, think it was then Robin then Maurice in between (?) And They didn't let Andy cook a bit he had is own kitchen so to speak, but wanted to calab with brothers on something he was working on, because he was a brother and absolutely adored and looked up to Barry.
Andy was my favorite of the brother's Gibb he was very talented in his own right no one can take anything away from Him. love you sweet Andy. rest in peace i know you found the peace in heaven that you wanted on earth but never got. God knows awesome reaction. When Andy died Barry was not getting along with Andy that is his cross to bear. His words not mine. he was only 30 yrs. old.

This was Andy's song. He always sang it. Now their singing it in memory of him.
It was actually recorded by the Bee Gees first, with the Saturday Night Fever songs.

They never got over losing their baby brother Andy, still breaks Barrys heart today that he survies them all, saddest song ever
That's so true. I lost my youngest brother who was 8 years younger than me almost 12 years ago. He was the baby of our family. It takes a toll on you.

It broke their hearts when Andy died ...this was so hard for them to do.
They weren't 'layered' vocals in Too Much Heaven, it was the three of them singing in harmony...
Yes, they were singing in harmony but it still was 27 layers.....with 18 layers of just Barry.🎶
I think Barry and Andy look, act and sound more like twins than the real twins, Robin and Maurice. 😇
