FYI I'd highly recommend picking up a copy of Ryan's book Bass Players to Know. The best way to enjoy it is along with the Spotify playlist, and for me that means picking up my bass and trying to play along with the songs, so each chapter becomes a bass lesson as well. As I visited the US a few weeks ago I decided to get an autographed copy sent to me. The inscription and note included are kind and authentic. Great way to support this channel. Thank you Ryan!
I love the way infuse music theory into your teaching of various songs. Fascinating stuff for a 70 year old bass newbee. I am beginning to understand why certain song arraignments that I've heard for years are so appealing.
Ryan your instructional vids are awesome! If you cats out there wanna hear Ryan lay’n it down check out UA-cam Kenny Greenberg and Guthrie Trapp in the studio with Ryan on bass! 3:27
Another great video. Again you do such a great job of explaining the theory behind the wonderful musical arraignments and rhythms. Thanks so much. I have got to get your book on bass players.
Thank you for this lesson. I have started playing it with my cover band. I admit that, during the ascending line at the end of the turn, I would play an F# instead of F to lead to the G. It sounds more Radiohead, but probably not as the original.
@@RyanMadoraMusic Hi Ryan, I have a 91 MiK Squier I bought used to bring to open mic sessions. After playing it a while I realized it was just as playable as my 70's Precision so I upgraded with the Aguilar 60's P-bass pickup and an Emerson prewired kit and a set of D'Addrio Chromes - it's my favorite bass.

It's amazing how the fundamentals of music can make those things click, right?
Every time one of your instructional videos pops up in my UA-cam feed, it's like a present! Thank you, UA-cam Ryan!
Hooray for presents!

Glad this helped! And yeah, definitely an F as you climb back to the G 😉
Great lesson, what brand of bass quitar?
It’s a Mike Lull bass
Hi Ryan is that dark blue bass behind you a Squire? I have the same one!
It is! It's actually my very first bass that I've modified a bit!
