i cannot get over how good the wrath ending cinematic was, hearing Bolvar's voice slowly transform into the Lich King's voice is such a small detail but sends chills down my spine
Seeing Bolvar actually alive after Wrathgate and being tormented by the Lich King was so cool back then. And when you see him take the Helm and the burden of the Lich king, it was such an epic finale. And when his own expansion finally arrived it was robbed in favor of one undead but not so undead anymore elf.
@@Athelarius It was good to see Bolvar as the new Lich King during the Legion's return...I was hopeing he would have his own expansion seeing him call to all death Knights and the return of the Horsemen was cool.

@@mrniusi11 Arthas and Illidan are two sides of the same coin. Both did horrible things for power to protect and save their lands or loved ones. Arthas fell to darkness, Illidan refused the light, but always worked towards the end of the Legion.
hell yeah, I love they gave his story validation. metzen said something about us being 'not prepared' about how the silithis swrod things ends in the future and I cant wait for a space sized illidan kicking asses again.
I keep forgetting just what a fantastic villain Gul’dan was. Cartoonishly evil, endlessly over-dramatic, and with some of the absolute best line delivery in the entire game.
Alternative Gul'dan is my favorite wow antagonist, OG Gul'dan was already an iconic warcraft character but he sadly died in canon back in the 90's. Getting Alt Gul'dan was one of WOD's redeeming features. Just a fun antagonist, dude just liked being evil.
@@Maniaman213 fuck morals, fuck "greater purpose", I woke up and chose to be mean! And funny enough it worked (at least it's WAY better than other "antagonists" who came after him).
Because sometimes unapologetic evil is what we need, no "you have no idea what's out there" or "i had a greater purpose" you sometimes need just "I seek power and to rule all" to have a good villain/antagonist because its easier to write.
I personally loved how Alternate Timeline Gul'dan's final words were exactly the same words our original Gul'dan uttered when he died in the Tomb of Sargeras. "I am Gul'dan. I am darkness incarnate! It cannot end like this..." Different versions of the same character, same exact death line. Chef's kiss.
Ever since they reactivated Arthas' story by having Uther toss him into the Maw with Devos, I thought at least they'd do something more with him at the end. But to just have him appear as a wisp and fade into nothingness hurts. At least a quick 2 min talk with Jaina and Uther before he fades away would've been bittersweet and better.
Arthas was best boss/expansion because he kept an ever looking presence in the story and was tied to almost every part of the game. Quests, instances, random lore... It was great.
He was the best villain they came up with. Illidan was a weird one and even got retconned, Big Dragon is unrelatable. After that Garrosh Chronicles Pt I and II was plain bad. Sargeras should have been the end of Azeroth's story. Shadowlands is just weird, lorewise. Totally disconnected and Sylvanas even gets to be a hero after being a heinous bitch. Weird.
@@86400SecondsToLivewell lore wise he spares you because he's amused and by the end of the players adventure (which would be the raid) he kills everyone to have the greatest scourge army ever
just makes me sad how they treated arthas man i grew up with him playing wc3 always thought his fall was tragic followed wow up until wrath, only watched its cinematics from there on out and then this. blizzard forgot its roots, what made them the one company that everybody respected. quality games, with quality storylines that did not compromise. now blizz is purely a joke.
Yeah... it would have been one helluva badass twist to have him actually help Anduin subtly as a final act to earn his own redemption. Hell, maybe even a "second chance" in life, as he technically had seen the darkness more and longer than anyone there. He was, after all, manipulated by The Burning Legion and Sargeras. I won't even mention Jaina's facial expressions and subtle body language and sorrow in her voice. Sylvannas just shit talking him in her face and then literally killing the last of his spirit, blowing it away like it meant nothing was ridiculously painful to watch. If anyone there deserved a proper redemption arc and second chance, it was Arthas, and if anyone deserved a real break from all the misery, it was Jaina. Instead I walked away from the Shadowlands expansion bitter and unsatisfied. Kudos to Sylvannas, kudos to Anduin, to Uther and all the others, but damn dude.
@@svenkleinplarre9461 Isn’t that the whole point of his character? Like, he’s irredeemable not in some vague, philosophical sense. We’ve seen every atrocity he’s committed without any remorse ever since Reign Of Chaos.
@@diamondmetal3062 the only questionable action Arthas did by his free will was the whole Mercenary Shipburning on Northend everything after he touched Frostmourne was basicaly out of his control (his soul was the first claimed by Frostmourne afterall) And while Stratholm was horrible it basicaly was the best and only option they realisticaly had. At the time there was absolutly no cure for the scourge and with Stratholm beeing the biggest city right after Capital City/Lorderon a quarantine would have been overrun and converted in mere days if not hours basicaly wiping out all of Lorderon right then. Arthas only mistake was he didn't explain it well to Uther and Jaina
@@diamondmetal3062 There's several far more interesting ways they could have shown that: 1. Arthas truly feels he's irredeemable and that is feeding into a vicious cycle. He could have a noble place in many of the realms, but his guilt, shame, corruption, etc. make him consign himself to the maw. 2. His arrogance is his undoing, in controlling the Scourge. He feels he's equal to the gods of the shadowlands, and can't work towards redemption because he refuses to listen to anyone else and refuses to learn any lessons. 3. While Terenas, Bolvar, Uther, etc. think he is capable of redemption, the Jailer subtilty feeds into his ego and insecurities.
Story? Yes Artefact Grind? No, that was just too much. The increased Goldcap also caused more bad then good for the playerbase. The endless dailygrind that was even worse then the first Tier of MoP... Sad that Blizzard didnt learn from their mistakes in previous expansions.
@@UnstoppableDWade Yes, The first, second and third war were all because the Legion manipulated the Horde from Draenor. Arthas/Ner'zhul were pawns of the Legion; the Undead Plague was a creátion of the Legion to weaken Azeroth. WoD gave birth to a different timeline and WoW-universe. Legion concluded that timeline with the defeat of Kil'jaeden, ánd Sargeras himself in the end. I think with the fall of the Jailer, Azeroth/WoW is now far enough to advance to the Void Lords as the very final Antagonist?
@@g7u7r7a7 She's right both times. Even as an Immortal...dragons are mortal. The age of Mortals and the age of Dragons are one and the same. She and the others take back their ancient power with that understanding.

@@Athelarius Wasnt the power of that Helm: Ner'zhul's tormented Spirit, the power that unleased the Plague of Undeath on Azeroth? And by destroying the Helm...also releasing Bolvar from that grasp..and finally the defeat of the Jailer... Shouldnt the Undead be removed from Azeroth then? Wasnt their whole Undeath, based on THAT power??? TL:DR: Shadowlands looked cool, but logic-wise it just didnt fit ánything of the Lore! Total Bozo-story?
@@thegreenreaper6660 I thought the plague was made by kel thuzad and that created the scourge not the undead race. Now that I think about it I don’t quite remember how the undead came to be. I mean arthas stabs sylvanus with frostmourne and she became undead but I’m not sure if she’s legit an undead or if frostmourne just took enough of her soul to make her “undead” in that sense Now I have more questions than answers 😂😂😂
Seeing videos like that is always funny, because there's the OG story and each expansion it's getting crazier and crazier. But shadowlands seems like a insane fanfiction.
Well be that as it may, Blizzard did a good job with their retconning of certain events that it gives you the feeling it was planned all along. Like there was 0 indication that the Frozen Throne was a conduit for the Maw or that the Lich King was always controlled by Zovaal, but we always wondered why Bolvar was slowly getting corrupted by the Helm since both Nerzhul and Arthas and the Lich King entity were killed (based on the novel). Having Zovaal be the big boss behind the Lich King answers the bolvar question, even if the answer isnt satisfying to most people. We also always knew that someone was giving Sylvanas her ever growing powers, including so many resurrections from Valkyrs she couldnt possibly produce. Sylvanas also knew that Zovaal would end up not keeping his word and attempt to enslave her too, hence why she attempted to create her own valkyr in Legion. The more you analyze all the events since the defeat of Arthas the more the plot that blizzard wrote starts making more sense. I dont disagree that it left a bitter taste but ultimately it was revealed that she and Zovaal were working towards the ultimate fight against the Void, a fight that the denizens of Azeroth for all their wisdom and might do not understand and are unable to comprehend. Aleria even mentions it during the final council before the siege of Orgrimmar, how Sylvanas is the only one that understands how the void can be defeated. Sadly Zovaal turned out to be another bland villain with good motives but wrong methods. At least Sargeras who was literally having the same motives and same methods was a villain with proper backstory and 2 decades worth of lore. I just hope that when the Void finally arrives, all these plots get put to some use. Connect all the dots about what we have learnt from these villains' actions and make the final battle smthng that uses elements from those lores.
@@graddeosyeah so that s cool and all but void lords being the main villains makes no sense after shadowlands, since it was stated that Grand Robot Builders made, like, everything. Everything in space. There is literally no reason for jailer to mess things up to combat things which were designed in balance with everything else and literally are the same as every other force in the verse. So either script writers didn’t get what they wrote and these Robot Builders make no sense, or you should prepare for a new Grand Pantheon of Badness. I dunno which is worse. I prefer stuff with less purple tentacles though, idk how people can stand those for decades and still ask for more tentacles.
@@АртемСеменов-п1е Actually the Jailer and all the SLs deities were created by the robot builders to preserve the cycle of life and death. but Zovaal realized that for all their power, they wont be able to defeat the ultimate enemy as long as the cycle remains intact. hence his ultimate goal was to break it and make death the ultimate force. I agree that its a bit awkward as a plot just bcs its not obvious. But its also obvious that Zovaal broke free from w/e coding the robot builders gave him and added his own motives to his basic functionalities. It felt like how MCU treated ultron in a way.
In Snape voice: *Always* RIP sweet Papa Garrosh. The best warchief of the horde, who would've proudly fought against the Legion and all future expansion villains with Gorehowl in-hand, side by side with Varian. Now that's an alternate reality I'd love to see.

Can we take in the respect Velen has built with Illidan upto Fate of Sargeras? A prophet, who is known for their visions concedes that Fate can be skirted to Illidan, Illidan who believes Fate influences his destiny, but works around it by rejecting Xe'ra, rejecting the influence of the Fel, and tried to break the status quo. it's a real nod to Velen understanding the plight of Illidan and I'm super about it.
No one would have liked to see him come back, his story ended perfectly and there was no need to bring anyone else back either. The whole expansion retconned years of built-up story so it would have been best if they just didn't touch upon older chatacters, and didn't do the Shadowlands expansion at all.
@@Ledwan-ls6kh they probably meant his last moment. Like the writer could have at least made him whisper to Aduin telling him to fight, to not let Arthas' fate be his. @@bazarovmedic4807 oh, i don't love arthas. I played wc3. Stratholme and his betrayal of his men and the mercenaries made me hate him deeply. But for some strange reason the "father, is it over?" just gets to me.
I will never forgive blizzard for ruining Arthas last moments like that, both Jaina and Uther didn't get to say anything to him, but instead their love child sylvanas got to condemn him one last time ofcourse...
I'm STILL furious over how dirty they did N'Zoth. They'd been building him up literally since Warcraft 3 and he not only got just a single patch, he also got the worst goddamn asspull of an ending imaginable.
Garrosh accomplished more in an expansion he wasn’t the villain of till literally the last second than the Jailer did in a full expansion that’s been building up for over 20 years
The expansion wasn't done for the jailer. It was made so Sylvanas got her morally grey redemption arc. Now after killing millions, starting war, comitting war crimes, etc she gets to live and her fans are justified because "it is my burden to bear, i am very very guilty, and now that Nathanos is dead and i suddenly don't care about him, which wow player wants to be my boyfriend!?"
@@bigbadwolf3199 "her fans are justified" - I think this is a ridiculous way to think. Its a game, people are free to to like villains and sympathize with them for whatever reason. I miss Varian and old Jaina so much, Varian was such a badass and Jaina didn't take shit from no one, now we're left with a child for a king and a passive Jaina, GIVE ME BACK MY ALLIANCE, BLIZZARD, THE TRUE ALLIANCE!!!
Fun fact: for Legion's audio drama, The Tomb of Sargeras, the scene begins with Gul'dan first choking a Withered & blasting it with Fel. Killing it in a way that he himself would also be killed, but seeing Illidan pick him up like a rag doll adds the icing on that cake.
Also unpopular opinion but adding the Garrosh cinematics with the one of him in the Shadow lands is just badass. Dude legit said he'd impale traitors on the spires of orgrimmar, and did it. Among other things & even in death said he'd do it again before he deleted himself 😭😂
@@exodiatheforbiddenone8228 There is so much that needs changed, one large one though is a proper finale for Arthas. Not a big fight, or a big speech. Just a chance to apologize, to regret, to see those he hurt and feel. To see all the pain flood him and either forgiveness or eternal hatred by those he hurt follow him as he finally fades out of existence, his name nothing but a echo and a whisper. We needed to see him, for those last lines by Sylvanus and some by Uther to be seen impacting him. To watch Arthas finally understand what he has done, in life and beyond.
Man, everything post Cataclysm seemed so lame in retrospect, I could stomach it though. Then they decided to make Sylvanas important and that's when I realized I'd grown beyond the franchise.
"Your father's actions were indeed heroic. They were his challenge to us, his people. To never let fear prevail, even at the very gates of Hell." Words that resonate even today, after all these years. Always miss Varian.
Every WoW villain : big words, big ideals, major threat to the entire world. Meanwhile Nefarian : Ayo Imma mix these dragons and other shit to create bigger dragons !

Man Nzoth was the canary in the coal mine. SO MUCH BUILD UP to just vanish and then no real follow up. Just gone. Yes at the time bfa didn't seem like a symptom and more like blizz just failed to stick this landing, but now shadowlands establishes a pattern. It would be nice to put all this blame on the shoulders one person. Sadly several people came up with ideas, while other groups of people reviewed and greenlit those ideas, all while another group of people implemented those ideas. Yes we can go back and see that metzen refused to let the story teams budge on certain aspects, but it wasn't just him. The cinematics are still great, but it is sadly a visual catalogue of the fall of wow. I will end on a positive note that wow sure did know how to capture our imaginations.
Retconning Old God lore to make them killable was one of the worst things they did. The C'thun and Yogg'saron fights we fought were made with the fact that what we fight is a fraction of an Old God in mind so they were made tiny and didn't manage to do much before we fought them. N'zoth was enormous and did a ton since he was fully released from his prison so he felt like an actual threat. Yogg and C'thun were tiny compared to that random demon Gul'dan summoned who killed Tirion. So much wasted potential with the Old God's.

The ultimate mastermind of masterminds! The Jailer’s ultimate plan lasted all of 5 whole minutes. If only Denathrius turns out to be the main mastermind and gets to seductively monologue us into the next expansion. Such charisma and wonderful VA, much potential.
@@Athelarius Between Denathrius or the Jailer, I prefer the former, especially if it is revealed that Denathrius manipulated the Jailer in some way or form. Doesn't mean he is redeemable though.

Jailer is without a doubt the worse end boss in WoW history. First off, the loot table was so worthless most people didn't even care to kill him. I genuinely hate that Vol’jin was the only person fit to be warchief and they immediately killed him for it. The blizzard writing team truly has no idea what the fuck its doing.
The wow writers seethed so hard that nobody liked Sylvanas as a hero or a villain that they had to bring Arthas back completely cucked, no shape, no dialogue, just a Warcraft 3 wisp floating with Shitvanas saying that his legacy is over, so subtle blizzard, about as subtle as if Sylvanas would have looked into the camera and went "Never ask for us to bring back the good villains again, we will keep pissing on their graves". Blizzdrones will literally get fed a plate of shit and tell you it's chocolate, imagine paying for this.
Kinda weird how there is a continuous, flowing story from Mists to the end of Legion, and then out of nowhere all this random, disconnected stuff starts happening lol.
It's called Blizzard wanted to milk more money lol. Legion and Sargeras' defeat should have been the end to Warcraft/WoW. He was literally built up from Warcraft 1 until Legion. He and the Burning Legion are the reason why the Alliance and Horde (and Draenei) even came into conflict in the first place. He's the reason that Gul'Dan betrayed their people. He (was before the stupid fucking Jailer/shadowlands retcon) the reason that all the horrible shit with the Scourge and Arthas and the Lich King even happened in the first place. He orchestrated literally 95% of the conflict in the story. Then they retconned all this Old God bullshit about corrupting world souls/titans and the fucking JAILER and now the VOID is the big bad when it used to be Giant Satan/Sargeras. Blizzard will constantly keep moving the goalpost and asspulling shit to make money, kinda like another IP (looking at you Disney Lucasfilm/Star Wars). Shoulda seen the writing on the wall when most/all of the original writers for Warcraft left/were tossed, cause it's clear no one knows or cares about the old story and goes out of their way to shit on it at every opportunity.
So... the Helm of Domination is broken and there is nobody controlling the scourge on Azeroth anymore. What happened to the "there must always be a lich king" lore piece?
Eh to be fair they made that up at the last second so that they could do something with Bolvar since he'd become a popular npc from the Wrathgate cinematic at the time
So joining during the Burning Crusade expansion (when people didn’t much play with us noobs/casuals) I missed quite a few raid endings. Watching this has made me realize that the complaints about the storylines isn’t as accurate as I once thought it was. I see people in Shadowlands and Dragonflight early on in this video. I am pleasantly surprised. 🙌🏽

WAIT! So Arthas is so dead, he can't even go to the afterlife bit and be judged? I haven't played WoW in many years so I don't know the current story lol
Ok so here's the Blizzard answer: When Arthas got dropped into the Maw the Jailer tormented his spirit, which was not the spirit of the Lich King but a "redeemed" Arthas since he was apparantly under uber super duper mind control all this time. So Zovaal (Jailer) tormented him to the point where he is reduced to a night elf's spirit wisp that looks like he died and went afk at darnassus spirit healer. At that point there was barely any sentience left in him since it was only the slightest piece of his soul that remained. So when we finally figure out his wisp is actually inside the mourneblade used to control Anduin and Anduin breaks free, he apparantly gets monologued to final death by sylvanas and then even his wisp fades. My personal opinion: they wrote this storyline on April's fools and thought it was a good enough prank to become canon.
@@MrKrissKross2010 They just hate the fanbase for liking the old content better than the current one, so they unleash this hate on everybody favorite "villain". Arthas isn't the real Lich King btw, no character seems to remember that, at this point I think blizzard doesn't remember that neither, also Arthas tried his best to slow down the Lich King's plans, Arthas is a hero.
Such a wasted potencial for arthas and didn't have the chance to be judged at all... Its kinda meme but WoW really died with Arthas and that wisp from last trailer... for me it was like last hope for this game and it just... disappeared...
Also wish we got more from Arthas, at least one last talk between him, Jaina and Uther. They had an incredible history together. Teacher and student, and his love relationship with Jaina was expanded more in the novel.
@@Athelarius That’s true but I worry about the rest especially since the fallout is not very pleasant and what worse the fans from blizzard have been very displeased but if this information is true about another return perhaps maybe we can use that to our advantage
Years from now we learn that the soul wisp of Arthas was actually the half soul wisp and through the other half we can resurrect a light forged Arthas as we enter a new reality in Azeroth!
@@Athelarius Or it was actually what was left of Ner'zhul's soul. Arthas was separated from him when he died and his soul is still lingering somewhere in the shadowlands. And I think this 1 minute fanfic is better than what we actually got. :(
Its so weird that Sylvanas was the last one to talk to Arthas and basically just told him to fuck off. Not Jaina or Uther, but some random Banshee that was a slave of Arthas.
well she isnt some random banshee. but it still was awful story writing for them to do that. no idea what type of cush they were smoking when they were writing SL

i cannot get over how good the wrath ending cinematic was, hearing Bolvar's voice slowly transform into the Lich King's voice is such a small detail but sends chills down my spine
And the music to that exact scene too, also one of my favorite raid end cinematic still
I remember big whining back then that Arthas died.
Heck, every addon was pure whining about every end.
@@Athelarius It was good to see Bolvar as the new Lich King during the Legion's return...I was hopeing he would have his own expansion seeing him call to all death Knights and the return of the Horsemen was cool.

That "At Last..." and smile were perfect.

hell yeah, I love they gave his story validation. metzen said something about us being 'not prepared' about how the silithis swrod things ends in the future and I cant wait for a space sized illidan kicking asses again.
It cannot end like this..."
Different versions of the same character, same exact death line. Chef's kiss.
@@Pikacha25 Same place of death too, though OG Gul'Dan's remains are in the entrance of the Tomb.
Its sad that Arthas didn't have the chance to be judged at all. Only tossed into the maw to be completely used as a tool by Zovaal.
Ever since they reactivated Arthas' story by having Uther toss him into the Maw with Devos, I thought at least they'd do something more with him at the end. But to just have him appear as a wisp and fade into nothingness hurts. At least a quick 2 min talk with Jaina and Uther before he fades away would've been bittersweet and better.
they spit in the face of the greatest character of warcraft, probably to shit on old blizzard's legacy cuz they are salty they cant make anything good
True, is so sad that they wasted it ;/

Arthas was best boss/expansion because he kept an ever looking presence in the story and was tied to almost every part of the game. Quests, instances, random lore... It was great.
Google Warmane my dear friend
He was the best villain they came up with. Illidan was a weird one and even got retconned, Big Dragon is unrelatable. After that Garrosh Chronicles Pt I and II was plain bad. Sargeras should have been the end of Azeroth's story. Shadowlands is just weird, lorewise. Totally disconnected and Sylvanas even gets to be a hero after being a heinous bitch. Weird.
WotLK lore is absolutely comical. The way Arthas appears, spares you and then disappears is surreal.

Shadowlands feels like one giant hate letter to the Arthas & Lich King story.
Yeah... it would have been one helluva badass twist to have him actually help Anduin subtly as a final act to earn his own redemption.

@@diamondmetal3062 There's several far more interesting ways they could have shown that:

2. His arrogance is his undoing, in controlling the Scourge. He feels he's equal to the gods of the shadowlands, and can't work towards redemption because he refuses to listen to anyone else and refuses to learn any lessons.
3. While Terenas, Bolvar, Uther, etc. think he is capable of redemption, the Jailer subtilty feeds into his ego and insecurities.

denathrius could have been such a great villain by him alone.. the whole sylvanas / Jailer arc around it, was really not appealing

Hogger!!! He'll break free from the Stockades and become the most difficult boss éver!!

it's funny how illidan literally squares up to a god, i forgot how badass he truly is.
Which sword? I dont know nothing about a sword.
Idk why but i love gul dan as villain
That and his voice actor was just the best selection. Troy Baker for those who didn't know. He also does many, many other iconic voices of other franchises.
16:40 is so funny because it's like Archimonde tripped coming out of the portal and banished Gul'dan to the shadow realm for it out of embarassment
Let them come, frostmourne hungers Is by far the epic dialogue blizzard has ever written. Nothing will beat it in ages to come
That's sad
So the Jailer was Blizzard's version of Ultron.
His armored form kinda reminds me of Megatron too honestly.
What, like how he sucked?
I was not expecting him to be a robot 😅 ik winter queen and the arbiter are the same i think
Bro ive been confused over the questing, and cinematic mainlines for over 4 months which is the sole reason i hadnt played this game but your video TITLE is what helped me out after so long finally i can grind raiding to see this for myself thank you so much
The jailer was behind all of this btw :))
How was Denathrius 1000000x better than the Jailer????
More charisma, better design, great VA, Lord of the Nathrezim, Dreadlords and quite honestly owner of the best talking, sassy sword to date that does his bidding. Of course!
Jailer is without a doubt the worse end boss in WoW history. First off, the loot table was so worthless most people didn't even care to kill him. To this day I still don't understand the threat and why we needed to take him down. Horrible writing horrible story telling didn't think it could get worse. Then came the cinema after you beat him.
@@Legendary-zh9hdeveryone agreed that he was the knock-off Sargeras. And Sargeras actually almost succeeded while Jailer's plan fell apart the moment it started
Worst fucking storyline ever
Everything was the Jailors Fault....Legion, Nzoth...fuck Mankrik's wife was his fault too he did everything.....god so sad they actually stood up in front of everyone and said they were proud of how shadowlands story ended.
....even Hogger?
You have it all wrong. The jailer is only a pawn for hogger. Fuck the void lords and all that garbage hogger is the main antagonist of wow
Illidan Stormrage is the elf with the plan, absolutely love his story line.
edit: with all seriousness though, i really hope Blizzard expands the warcraft lore to include something like a back in time warp, or alternate timeline where the major characters they killed off like king varian and vol'jin reappearing alive and well, cause blizzard really did those two characters dirty af. They died like little wimps imo, and thats not right in my book.
God I love the Wrath Expansion, still to this day the best xpac and in my opinion a true eye-opener to the beautiful Lore of WoW
As a lifelong horde player, but follower of all wow lore, and consequently a huge Varian fan, gul'dans death was so gratifying to watch.
Remember when Blizz annouced Illidan for Legion and the audience lost their minds in the good way?
It's sad to see Illidan's equal in story and badassery was just dismissed.
What would you have wanted for him
Who are you even talking about. Illidan had the perfect end to his story.
Its okay, we all know warcraft its build on arthas shoulders.
W legion
@@ranjeetkhoutinay4856 Illidan is just on cooldown, he'll come back eventually i'm sure
While watching, you realize that this gem of a game became a caricature of itself.... That's just sad.
The amount of retcon in Shadowlands was too high for me to handle... Blizzard used to have good storylines...
What would you have changed so there is no retcon please explain
@@exodiatheforbiddenone8228 Would've just not do the expansion, the story's premise was stupid from the start.
@@exodiatheforbiddenone8228 As was already said, literally just don’t do the expansion. In fact, I also would’ve not done Visions Of N’Zoth, and used that build up at the end of Rise Of Azshara to lead into an xpac about N’Zoth himself.
Unpopular opinion, the denathrius scenes in castle nathria is sick as hell and saves a lot of the beginning shadowlands
man i'll be honest it kills me everytime seein varians death ........ and i was soooo damn happy to see him and saurfang again

Argh! We went from that epic finale in Argus, to the disappointment of nzoth and now the out right travesty that is the jailer and his super duper galaxy brain 10 head 9 mini lion IQ master plan.
Specially now knowing that the jailer was behind most of the previous events, they now cheapen their impact on the story and make people not care about lore anymore.
Thanks blizzard for destroying the one thing that kept some of your few remaining subs playing.
Never realized illidan is voiced by the same guy who voices War in Darksiders. Cool.
Gul'dan - best WOW villain to date, he was so unashamedly evil complete with fiendish voice. Non of this evil one minute then good the next bollocks. I was almost sorry to see him defeated!
I RMBR standing in line 12:00 midnight WOTLK released and my mother sat there with me for 2 hours ..i had the first copy ..next door at gamestop people were lined up to get WoW .

This is gold.
Holy crow, I completely forgot Ysera's existence in the Shadowlands tacitly means the other dragons like Deathwing and Nefarion should be there too
Not like anyone expects otherwise from Blizzard at this point but way to drop the ball again
Amazing that Wrath scenes will always be my favorite. Even the music. Glory days.
i really hope that nzoth won and we will wake up from the nightmare somehow
I genuinely hate that Vol’jin was the only person fit to be warchief and they immediately killed him for it. The blizzard writing team truly has no idea what the fuck its doing.
The Garrosh Hellscream voice lines were just so damn perfect. Gosh, MoP was such a wonderful expansion!
Yeah, to bring Chinese players to WoW lol. Garbage.
This really makes me want to play the game! Never thought I would watch the whole video and didn't understand any of it but man it was cool! lol
Idk why Gul'dan is suffering when Archimonde just made him floating in the air🤣
because he was being involved in a fel beam?
Well as you can see Guldan tripped Archimonde as he came out from the portal. So that was Archie’s last act of vengeance!
@@Athelarius smart!
Guldan has a serious fear of heights
Also, I'm pretty sure Fel destroys soul energy/anima...
Thank you! Beautifully done!
So... the Helm of Domination is broken and there is nobody controlling the scourge on Azeroth anymore. What happened to the "there must always be a lich king" lore piece?
Eh to be fair they made that up at the last second so that they could do something with Bolvar since he'd become a popular npc from the Wrathgate cinematic at the time
Then they retconned everything into "There will always be EXPANSION"
Scourge runs rampant on Azeroth killing everybody while we’re in the shadowlands gotta find a new planet wow 2 starts.
Nothing after 7:05 matters.
i wish i was able to play and experience this for myself when it was brand new, the wonder of exploring wow was probably something you could only experience then
WAIT! So Arthas is so dead, he can't even go to the afterlife bit and be judged? I haven't played WoW in many years so I don't know the current story lol
Ok so here's the Blizzard answer:
When Arthas got dropped into the Maw the Jailer tormented his spirit, which was not the spirit of the Lich King but a "redeemed" Arthas since he was apparantly under uber super duper mind control all this time.
You had to do certain quest to see some cutscenes that he didn't show in this video
Was hoping to see Illidan's "I Am My Scars!" moment in argus. That one's my favorite.
bro knew what happened to the helm of domination when it received the light and instantly decided he aint having any of that
I finally understand how gul,Dan died he the portal open and the crystal fell to the ground and illidan was freed
What a great compilation
Such a wasted potencial for arthas and didn't have the chance to be judged at all... Its kinda meme but WoW really died with Arthas and that wisp from last trailer... for me it was like last hope for this game and it just... disappeared...
Smashed it. Well done
That last one with not giving us what we want was very unfortunate we have to go for alternative means
Your ending clip made me sad. I miss all the people I have ever met in wow.
Well lets hope they will not reuse Arthas again...
@@Athelarius please, let him die... Let w3 story be finished as good as it was :-(
Its so weird that Sylvanas was the last one to talk to Arthas and basically just told him to fuck off. Not Jaina or Uther, but some random Banshee that was a slave of Arthas.
well she isnt some random banshee. but it still was awful story writing for them to do that. no idea what type of cush they were smoking when they were writing SL

And where the fk is tyrande????
Tyrande has decided that after 4 minutes of vengeance, renewal is the answer so she's a passive NPC again. As for the sword, probably Sylvanas will also give it a tap as it fades into nothingness in the next cinematic! Technically Sargeras is still alive, just stuck in his chair up in space with the Titans and Illidan.

Blizzard warcraft Advisor 2 : Certainly the recent player loss of World of Warcraft are evidence enough.
Blizzard warcraft Advisor 1 : Agreed! The player base is not in the mood.
King Blizzard : This is absurd. Wow players will not standby and watch as the lore retcon by each date.
Blizzard Ambassador : All players are not our primary concern here. How many times i must repeat myself. King Blizzard you must heed my warning. This expansion (shadowlands) that has gripped the lore could have dire ramifications.
backgound noise : Shadowlands ? sound just as terrible. Lets keep all this in perspective .Even if this expansion does pose a threat to lore what are you proposing that we do.
Blizzard Ambassador : It is simple . As i have already said developers are already prepared to place all players under strict pay-to-win.
Blizzard King : I will not institute pay-to-win without proof of your claim ambassador .The players of warcraft have paid enough without getting good expansion from their own money.
* Crow(Steve Danuser) Enters Throne Room *
Steve Danuser : Yet Stupids they are good game .
Blizzard King : What is the meaning of this who are you ?

Blizzard Ambassador : Enough of this .. guards remove this mad man.
Steve Danuser : Hear me ! The only hope for your players is to redeem Sylvanas and forget her atrocities.
Blizzard Ambassador: Forget her atrocities? Are you mad!
Blizzard King : Hold ambassador.I dont know who you are and what you believe.. but this is not time for simpcraft. Our games can also run on Androids. But it shall be we who decide how best to protect our fan-base not you. Now Begone!
