Bought the Blink for the family last year because of your videos..We've all been very satisfied with how they work and security they provide..Thanks for your Advice and Videos !!
I bought a WCO outdoor before I knew quite how bad it was. My notifications have always come in much faster then yours but that doesn’t matter since my WCO is currently sitting on a shelf. It’s sitting there because it wouldn’t download a firmware update and customer service told me to try deleting and reinstalling the camera. Now it won’t reinstall and it’s been a week of no responses to my emails for further assistance. Wyze is probably dead to me at this point unless they get back to me soon.
Man I suggested you this video a couple of weeks ago. You actually did it. Bro... You're the best. Thanks. Great video as usual. Keep the good work up! 👍🏻
Thanks for these very detailed reviews and wyze outdoor cam in your review recorded you in front of it, my wyze outdoor cams didn't record everytime for actions coming straight up to them, but they do record actions that go accross them everytime. I found out one time that a sales person came to my front door only because my indoor wyze cam (facing out) caught the last 2 seconds of the person's backside leaving. Neither one caught the person coming to my front door. The wyze outdoor cam placed above the garage door never never caught my car coming out of the garage or leaving, but it does sometimes catches people coming out of the garage.
I use the Blink XT2 but I got around the battery issues by purchasing a plug-in power adaptor and plugging it into an outlet in my garage (shared by the garage door opener). I realize not everyone has that option but it works quite well. Even more interesting is the fact that the AC adaptor cost a few dollars less than a single set of replacement batteries!
@D. T. Do you have a link to what AC power adaptor cable you bought? Im about to buy Blink xt2 and will mount in my garage. Dont want to hassle with batteries. Thanks.
@@ernieD I should add that beyond battery savings, the AC adaptor allows you to use the best video quality and turn up the IR to max . Using either one of those really hurts battery life but is not a problem for the AC adaptor
I usually have the night vision on my Blink XT2 off because if I leave it on it's just blown out and black in white. With it off I get a better picture with little night light around it.
Yes. My 3 Wyze Cams in side windows take too long to notify. My Wyze Pan Cam in front window abit faster. My RING doorbell works horribly for video quality. But it does pick up motion very fast, notifies my phone instantly. I keep it facing towards my front door. Wyze Cam then picks up motion at that kitchen window. But again, very slow to notify. Was going to buy new Wyze Outdoor next. But think I'll try Blink XT2 as my next cam purchase. Need one more cam for outside. Good work here, thnx.
I have had the Blink XT-2 for about 6 months and still on same batteries with no issues. My biggest complaint is that the PIR system in the XT-2 attracts wasps. I have had up to 40+ alerts in one day and they are all wasps attracted to the PIR motion detection system, something to do with high frequency sound.

I’m new to outdoor cameras... since the blinkxt2 is battery operated can I put a cam outside under the eave to see back yard with no wires or plugs? Do you have a video on how to do a basic install of blinkxt2?

I own multiple Wyze camera for my house. Their great, the app is great and they are very affordable. The pan tilt one is especially great. However avoid the outdoor camera. I just got it and installed it as we had recent break ins and I thought it’d help. It does not. There is no playback like the indoor cameras. If you put a micro sd card in it, it does not record continuously and offer playback as the indoor cameras do. It’s essentially a dash cam. That’s it. If you are using it to protect your property, then you have to be watching it to catch someone on it. Then you have to hope it actually records the video so if you need to use it later you can. So overall? It’s pointless. I’m sending mine back today as that being the main let down, but I figured whatever it links with my echo show 8 (that I got for this camera) and no, it does not. So back it goes.
A recommendation to improve the review. You do a great set of comparison videos but fail (in my opinion) to draw it to a conclusion. Part of drawing a conclusion could be taking stills from the day and night videos (at the extremes that are noteworthy) and showing them side by side after each video pair and making a comment on which is better is what critical areas over the other and why that might be relevant or important.
I do my reviews this way and get the viewers to decide which is better..you don’t take it from me..you decide which is better on the footages that I show you and just don’t take my word for it... except if the product just not good...
Blink beat wyze hands down ! You got what you paid for! By the way I suggest you to check out the Husqvarna auto mower which can take care of your lawn automatically 24/7 to replace your current big hunky riding mover. Lol.. as to the mower... my yard is actually not that big for a riding mower.. but I got that mower from a friend for a price that I cannot refuse... and Yes, the Blink outdoor review is already up.. thanks.
I think there is an error with your wyze cam outdoor, I did a pull on the subreddit ( r/wyzecam ) and it got around 100 total votes and most people said ( inculding me ) got under 30 seconds, and this is true. When I open up my stop watch on my phone to test and walk In front of the camera, it only takes 19 seconds. Specs of mine App version - Up to date with beta app Firmware version - Both base station and wyze cam are both maxed out. Battery - 60% chagred
@@YoMom4Lyfe1 My 4 Wyze cams take up to 1 minute or more to notify my phone of motion. That's useless to me. At times i may see an elbow of a UPS/FDX delivery person leaving my front door as they've left my package. If i raise cam sensitivity, I get window glare notifys and still very slow.

I'm honestly losing faith in Wyze. They are releasing too many products and their customer service is suffering because of it, I've filled out several trouble tickets a month ago and they still haven't contacted me back. Wyze for some reason can't improve the audio quality on their cameras, it's sad. Can you review the newly came out Blink out door with up to 4 yrs battery life?
Lol.. as to the mower... my yard is actually not that big for a riding mower.. but I got that mower from a friend for a price that I cannot refuse... and Yes, the Blink outdoor review is already up.. thanks.
Thanks.
You're welcome
Are you going to compare Blink Outdoor to the Wyze Outdoor in one video?
Mine never worked even after multiple call to customer service. I returned mine for credit. It is just not ready for consumer use.
Which one?
I had 2 of the just released Outdoor cams. It just never worked correctly.
Specs of mine
App version - Up to date with beta app
Firmware version - Both base station and wyze cam are both maxed out.
Battery - 60% chagred
Wyze doesn't even give me notifications most of the time.
Thanks for the heads up... I guess, I need to reboot my system..19 seconds is still long though.
@@LifeHackster Wyze is never stable or consistent with their notifications.
Why do you say the Wyze outdoor cam is $50? You can't get it for that price, it is closer to $60 when shipping is paid.
Unfortunately both cameras outsiders. Eufy, Reolink or even Arlo way better.
BUT for price you cant beat wyze! those brands you mentioned are more pricey cameras so your statement is totally IRRELEVANT!
@@jimabbey9544 Irrelevant only until you need video with faces for police. As owner of few Wyze cameras I got this experience - resolution and fps allows you to see only person in general, in my situation only Eufy helped. Arlo I’m using is Pro and Pro2 with same issues in respect of resolution. So it’s your choice, use them as dummies for visitors and motion sensor for you or get clear and reliable picture.
I'm honestly losing faith in Wyze. They are releasing too many products and their customer service is suffering because of it, I've filled out several trouble tickets a month ago and they still haven't contacted me back. Wyze for some reason can't improve the audio quality on their cameras, it's sad. While I don't believe the Wyze Outdoor camera will get anywhere near the 6 months they claim, I also don't believe the Blink can possibly get 2 years.
I have 5 of the original Blink cameras, 3 outdoors & 2 indoors...they do have good battery life. Not 2 years but mine have lasted well over a year....with 30 second clips.
@@LEOretired how many 30 second clips over that year?
I agree with you that Wyze just have been releasing to many products and not improving their current ones...
@@LifeHackster I firmly believe that their plan is by making all these new products it improves their revenue so they can sell the company and get out. The founders act like they want to change to industry with quality low cost solutions and be our friend, but you can't do that when you let your customer support fail.
Im ok with the video of my 4 Wyze cams, I dont use the audio feature. But the very slow delay if motion notification to my phone is really bad.
Ive had them in place a few years so will live with them. But i need one outdoor cam. May try Blink xt2 for that. Wyze CS getting worse n worse it seems.
I am disappointed in my outdoor wyze cam. The battery lasts only 3 weeks for me.
Mine is 58% since I got it..
Oh my I think im not gonna invest on wyze already sigh....
Their Wyze Cam Outdoor needs some updates to be usable for me.
LifeHackster kuya thanks for all the review talaga. I hope mag update na sila saka ako bibili lol...
interesting, never heard alexa pronounced that way.
Lol he pronounces it that way so it doesn't trigger Alexa on all the viewers devices
@@jeremynguyen6617 ah, makes perfect sense now. Thanks!
as Jeremy have said...Thanks.
I rather stay with the Wyze Cam v2!
I have 3 Wyze Cam v2 and a Wyze Pan Cam. They are so slow to send motion notices to my phone; that is so frustrating. I need one outdoor cam. May try Blink XT2 for a change.
I have been diehard WYZE supporter until last two weeks , will never buy anything again from them . Ok so let this sink in ," if your battery dies on your door CONTATS or motion sensor, it turns into a brick and will not work" they even acknowledge it on there web site but played phone Questions tag for two weeks, finally said keep your warranty and your sensors,Done!!!
What do I think? Both of these are garbage.
Wow, the WYZE cam sucks
This camera is a pos. Battery needs to charged everyday. After charging it to 100% it goes right down to 94% in seconds. Its not recording even with cam plus. And a sd card. I think i either got a shit one. Or they all just suck. Waste of money. Dont buy this. Also. I email them and they never answer me and theres no number to call to talk to someone. Total rip off company
