  • A side by side comparison of Wyze Cam and Blink Home Security Camera systems (literally - I installed them next to each other to see the differences in recordings). Plus, there is some crazy footage of a tree falling two minutes after I moved my wife’s car out of the way!

    The latest Ver 3 of wyze cam has a much improved night sensor. Also you can work around the 5 minute cool down problem with wyze somewhat by putting an SD card on the camera and setting it to continuous. Not a perfect solution though.

      Hi Curt, Thanks for checking out my channel and for the information. That's a great point about the SD cards! I appreciate the perspective.

    I had 2 wyze cameras and 2 blink running at the same time. 1 or 2 things I like better with blink, but everything else I liked wyze better. Wyze has better footage and night footage too. The motion alerts work much better with wyze. With blink it would pick up after someone was almost off my property. I'd give the overall win to wyze although blink isn't bad

    Battery is good if and when you have a power outage .

    Wyze can record 24/7 locally if u install a micro SD card. This is good thing blink can’t do!

    I have a cheap $20 wyze in my kitchen- interior Amazon $20 model, I can move it around, talk etc... definitely worth the money. The other cameras are Flir system I got from Costco, color night vision, great cameras, but no sound- record non stop on a 36 hr. loop. Thanks for the video, always enjoy.-- Andy

      Hey Andy, thanks again for your support! Much appreciated! Having cameras around the house is a game-changer for me. I'll catch myself checking the feeds/recording for animals that stroll by haha.

    The indoor camera is only made for indoors. This Wyze camera won't last outside for long, I know. People will comment, oh but they have some for outside. THIS REVIEW ISN'T FOR THAT CAMERA. thanks.

    I like most of your review, but assuming you are not going to have a problem mounting an indoor camera outdoors while also running a power cord to the non-waterproofed connection is a bit much for me. That's not likely to last long. Best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

      Hey Martin, thanks for checking out my channel! I used plastic housings on the Wyze cams and tucked them under the roof to prevent direct exposure to the elements. I ran 4 Wyze cams in this manner well over 6 months with no issue. This was before Wyze came out with exterior cameras. Anyway, I did switch over to the exterior Blink cameras as noted, just wanted to give a comparison.

    Wyze suggests nothing bigger than a 32SD card. do you know anything about that? Some people are saying they can use a higher SD card. What's your opinion?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Jill, thanks for checking out my channel! I actually have not used an SD card in any of my cameras and solely rely on the cloud

    • @msotrfan1
      @msotrfan1 2 роки тому

      @@mountainbuckThen what's the point in having the cloud then? Some people do both. I need more than a 15 second clip, so I want the cloud. Why do people do both if the cloud catches it all?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah that’s why I use Blink cameras now. I think I get 60 seconds per clip on the cloud for free
