Beware wyze cam does not honor warranty. I bout 6 after watching this guy's video 3 years ago. Hated the company ever since. Wyze has lawsuits for others accessing your home cams also.

I have been a Wyze user for many years. And found the HOLY GRAIL of fixes for wyze cameras. Spent a day removing them and dumping them. There were just too many Wyze issues with them in the last couple years for me. Also family and friends across Texas dumped Wyze to. Watched your review on the Tapo C120 and it was the best move ever for me. Never a cool down, beautiful picture day and night, stronger wifi signal, snappy app and spanks Wyze notification time, Tapo notifications almost a blink of an eye. Not a single issue since using. Keep up the good work.
@@bltpyro Sound quality is about the same in this price range, maybe the Wyze is a little better. I always turn off sound when using cameras for stealth reasons.
I just got the V4 and I'm testing it now so far it's been fantastic....the audio is absolutely amazing it's so clear I'm 100 percent satisfied with it. Setup was easy, the picture is clear and people always say the picture is not sharp ..... always clean the camera lens even a new one. So far I love it.
Do you think this is a good option for a retail store? I need 24/7 recording, what do you recommend for a retail environment such as monitoring a cash register? Please help!
For around $30, the Wyze Cam v4 is hard to beat. It offers 2.5K video quality, color night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, and a built-in siren. You’re getting a lot for the price-more than you’d expect from a camera in this range. No it’s not perfect , but it’s a solid, affordable choice for anyone looking to add basic security without breaking the bank.
I'd like to see a video of V1, V2, V3 & V4 all at once in different lighting (4K UA-cam video). V3 do great in low light. Are V4 any better? I'm disappointed Wyze went with grey. I used black Plasti Dip on my white cams and bought black for the others. You make great videos! Thanks!
I'm really starting to like the compact cube design for cameras It's less noticeable further away and easier to hide and that's from someone that has 10+ reolink cams. I don't think reolink will have anything similar to this design anytime soon. Detail looks good for 2k res. Only thing left is an all black ptz version.
I like Wyze, but have moved to Eufy. The only reason I’m keeping my existing v3 cams is the Wyze app and its ability to view multiple live view cams on one screen. Eufy does not seem to have this feature. Thanks for the review. Great job as usual!

any chance you could do a video on what you would recommend store owners / boutiques? I would love to have a cam set up that lets me also zoom in to see what models of clothes we have layed out without having to go into the store.
I am currently working on a video about setting up in a business space. But you can always get a WiFi indoor cam that has a zoom, like the Reolink E1 zoom.
@@LifeHackster my concern is that the wifi connection is interrupted or other issues. The stores are around 130 sqm and shaped like and among us character basically. And I want to out it up on the ceiling yet being able to see the shirts folded since I can’t always FaceTime someone to go around. It’s also faster for me to be on the phone and give instructions than be there once a day. I am really sorry to bother but I don’t know who to ask since nobody who doesn’t ask 20k to help. Cool that the lamp socket is supported. If my current v3 fails, at least ill have a newer cam option to replace it with. Makes you wonder if the Floodlight v1 could get a little support love with this new cam down the road.
Great job Wyze 👏. Wyze continues to show they are serious about improving their cameras and keeping up with technology. Ring, Arlo, Nest, Blink and some others do not show the same commitment as Wyze. Reolink is for a few people willing to install POE cameras and NVRs. Eufy is promising and good for people who want to pay more upfront and not pay a subscription. I am fine paying $100 per year to Wyze for all the benefits I get in return. No camera system is perfect. Wyze continues to meet the needs for most consumers. Thank you LH for the review, I personally don’t turn on motion tagging since I find it distracting. I also like using the entire screen in portrait mode instead of the focus feature. I just ordered 6 V4s.
Some other options out there. But my Wyze cheap cameras still going since the beginning of their release. Also prefer a quicker response like my Tapo. The important thing is nice to see you still jog cross the yard with ease.
Yea, I like the Tapo cams much better too. And no monthly fee for pet and person detection. Tapo is a much better camera in my opinion, the only thing Wyze has on it is they get a little better distance.

I noticed with a couple cameras[wyze, Yi] that were outside getting direct sunlight the plastic was getting kind of a dullness to it like car headlights I'm thinking about coating them with those UV wipes that they use for plastic headlight covers it's just a wipe on wipe off

I guess the daytime picture looks sharper and little more detailed, but the color night vision without the LED looked really grainy. I would have loved to see a side-by-side with the v3...

I don't know why your notifications take 10 seconds when all my wyze cameras come in at 3 seconds or less except the battery camera's that take 10 to 15 seconds.... Great review as always....if any of my v3s go down I will replace them with this one.

The OG is terrible. I have the v3 the OG and the original wyze. The OG they claimed did all these same things but they don't. The video and sound is terrible. When you talk through them you can barely hear me. Terrible product in my opinion. I warrantied out two of them and they still didn't work. So I have 4 that don't work properly. The v3 get crystal clear videos and those are not even the pros. I'm hoping these v4 are like the v3 but it makes me nervous to buy more cameras and not like them. I will be looking for this video as well.
@@Jessica-wl3of I'm sorry that the Wyze cam OG didn't work for you, i do have 3 Wyze Cam OG's, 1 Wyze Cam V3, Wyze Doorbell V2, Wyze Floodlight V1, Wyze Cam Pan V3, Wyze Cam Pan V2, and Wyze Battery Cam Pro. the 2 OG's worked for me outside of my house and 1 OG inside the house, i did set up the OG inside. I do recommend the Wyze Cam V4 to replace your OG because the OG records in 2.5K and is better in my opinion
V4 has the same resolution as the v3 pro. In app, my v4 doesn't give me a resolution option higher than 2k... and it also uses the same exact 4mp camera as the v3 pro. Not sure why I bought the v4. I don't see much of a difference although I'm happy they brought back the usb dongle connector from the V2 that they got rid of on the v3 pro, the dongle offers better water protection.

Please advocate for the horizontal timeline. One reason why I don't want to switch to V3 Pro or newer models is because of the vertical timeline. Or they should give option to choose what uses want.
Yes it does. It needs to be plugged in. This is not a pan/tilt cam and the smart focus feature which digitally zooms in on the available FOV only works in live view and not on the recording.
Hi. Is it possible to use this as a static camera for pointing at the sky to track stars? And does it have a wide angle setting? And that their AI software doesn't work well when you set grid boxes and it does see things at distances, that we can clearly see. The camera used to but at some point Wyze reduced the sensitivity.
I have Wyze Cam V3's, Cam Pulse Lite is "free" as you can choose any price including Zero. Rolling two week cloud events and the Ai works most of the time but is limited to Person Detection Isn't offered for most of their cameras and the only new one I think is the V3 Pan I'm happy Enough with them 😅 but to each his own needs 😉
No they're not! Cam Plus Lite is NOT a choice! So I'll not be buying this or anything else unless the Lite version service plan is available. All my cams are now V3.
Dude, I don't blame you. I would be to my issues. They get hacked all the time. And they just discontinued. I think the first one because it kept getting hacked and didn't do anything about it
Does the V4 allow bloom/bright lights settings so the picture isn't washed out in certain lighting conditions, street lights, snow reflecting during the day, car lights, etc.
This one, Tapo C120, Eufy indoor and outdoor cams E210. Now, I'm assuming wireless meaning using WIFI. Cameras that record 24/7 are not battery powered.
Man you tickle my bones to get this unit man I don’t know what I’m gonna do with all those wyze cameras at home. You know what I don’t care I’m getting it.
I have a quick question unrelated to this cam, so please indulge me. I have 2 Tapo C325WB cameras that are brand new. I have discovered that every night at midnight I am unable to access the "Detected Events" recordings from the previous day in the app. It gets stuck at 11:59:59 and eventually tells me there are no recordings. They are still on the memory card, but to see them I have to remove the memory card and use a computer. This means that if an incident occurred at 11 PM, I would have to remove the memory card if I were to check the following morning (or any time after 12 PM). Both cameras do this. Is this standard functionality for these cameras? If not, do you think there is a software problem? Can you test yours and see if you can replicate this issue? Both cameras have the latest firmware, brand new 512 GB cards, and TP-Link doesn't seem to have any idea what's causing it. I like the cameras, but this is very inconvenient if you need to review alerts from the previous evening and I may return them if it isn't solved or this is normal. Any help is appreciated. I didn't even see the little grey chevrons on either side of the date and no one bothered to mention you can scroll to other days on any owners manual or reviews (or if you did I missed it). I wish the solar panels that you get with the outdoor cams would work on these cams ... I have 3 outdoor cams, and panels that I can't use because the base station messed up.
I’m researching to replace my Yi/Kami cameras. Used to be great, but they have slowly stripped away features to push paid subscriptions. Wyze seems to be great. Curious, can Wyze record 24/7 to a card and still use the cloud service for motion alerts? Their comparison chart shows no 24/7 to cloud which is fine. Just wondering if it will still save nonstop video to the card. Thanks for the great reviews!
Thanks for your great Video. Could you help me better understand how I can use the camera (in terms of remote viewing) without a paid subscription? Can I set it up on motion and when motion is detected, then snap shots will be taken that I can see on my phone using the wyze app or even see and record the live video to my phone for viewing later. Again, only interested in what I can access without a subscription. Or without a subscription is my only option is to take the micro card out and read it on a device with nothing accessible through the app? Thank you.
Without a subscription, you still can access the camera remotely to watch the live view. You can set it to record to the micro SD card when it detects motion or 24/7 recording. The only thing is that you will not get smart detection so anything that moves in the camera's field of view will trigger the camera. Also as to notifications, you will have a 5 minute cool down.. for example, the camera gets triggered my swaying leaves, then every 5 minutes you will get a notification. You don't have to remove the SD card to view the footage. You can view it in the app.
Will it stop breaking? Of the more than 60 v3 I've purchased for myself and help managing for others.. 4 are still working. They primarily die by some power connector issue they start power cycling nonstop faster and faster and at some point the put out a "scream". Sounding like locked up motor. They also get hot. Despite excellent network connection frequently have to wait many seconds and reload many times to get live video sometimes doesn't get live video for quite a while. They also kill endurance microSD cards So many issues Tons with wyze2 before though less and unreasonable failure rate as well but not anything like v3.
I need to know the detection at night from 40ft and if it can read car plates at night. If so what is the best setting? Trying to catch this deal before the 31st when it ends but so far every wyze camera I own they say is better and it does that it really doesn't. The only ones that came close are the v3 and I at least get cam lite free lol. The og are horrible and were a waste of money and stuck with a bunch of them but use them as fillers in blind spots.
Oh and thanks for all the reviews you do I always come to your page. Not sure why I wasn't following thought I had hit it a while ago. I have so many different cameras it's insane lol
I'm experiencing another problem with these Wyze Cam 4's, where it won't switch to other cameras using the Fire Stick voice remote. While I can switch between any of my Cam 3 feeds, once I'm viewing a Cam 4 feed, it won't respond to any voice commands to switch to another camera. I must now completely exit out of the feed and voice prompt to another Camera view.
The gray one is sold out on the Wyze website already..... Certainly beats the V3 Pro version. I have liked mine as it records 24/7 and is somewhat protected from the weather and hasn't had issues.

Why is the nighttime video with or without the spotlight so bad? My Wyze Cam 3s seem to look better at night then the v4.

Movies aren't even 30fps, but at least 24fps would be good.

Wyze cam v5 specs should be this: 4k 24fps, 2k 30fps, 1080p 60fps.
Is the microphone better on the V4 than the V3? Always found it difficult to hear what people are saying on V3 recordings.

Try the Tapo C120. Its a Wyze killer!

If you are talking about my eufy permanent lights, yes, it helps adding ambient lighting.

That's what I was noticing. Nothing changed with night vision and honestly I could care less about daytime recording lol

I really think its a server lag...I'm not sure why but all my wyze cameras that I have tested are usually 7-12 secs.

Is there a work around for cords,,,, instead of having to buy out door cords.

I don't see much of a difference although I'm happy they brought back the usb dongle connector from the V2 that they got rid of on the v3 pro, the dongle offers better water protection.

The audio quality is definitely better than the v3, but it's not something I care much about. Not seeing any huge reasons to upgrade from v3 to this.
Please advocate for the horizontal timeline. One reason why I don't want to switch to V3 Pro or newer models is because of the vertical timeline. Or they should give option to choose what uses want.

Yes, you can still record even 24/7 recording. What you will not have are smart notifications.

Yes it does. It needs to be plugged in. This is not a pan/tilt cam and the smart focus feature which digitally zooms in on the available FOV only works in live view and not on the recording.

I'm done with wyze cam, just for the fact that most of the features that was free when they first started are behind a paywall
And that their AI software doesn't work well when you set grid boxes and it does see things at distances, that we can clearly see. The camera used to but at some point Wyze reduced the sensitivity.
I have Wyze Cam V3's, Cam Pulse Lite is "free" as you can choose any price including Zero. Rolling two week cloud events and the Ai works most of the time but is limited to Person Detection
Isn't offered for most of their cameras and the only new one I think is the V3 Pan

I have a quick question unrelated to this cam, so please indulge me. I have 2 Tapo C325WB cameras that are brand new. I have discovered that every night at midnight I am unable to access the "Detected Events" recordings from the previous day in the app. It gets stuck at 11:59:59 and eventually tells me there are no recordings. They are still on the memory card, but to see them I have to remove the memory card and use a computer. This means that if an incident occurred at 11 PM, I would have to remove the memory card if I were to check the following morning (or any time after 12 PM). Both cameras do this. Is this standard functionality for these cameras? If not, do you think there is a software problem? Can you test yours and see if you can replicate this issue? Both cameras have the latest firmware, brand new 512 GB cards, and TP-Link doesn't seem to have any idea what's causing it. I like the cameras, but this is very inconvenient if you need to review alerts from the previous evening and I may return them if it isn't solved or this is normal. Any help is appreciated. I didn't even see the little grey chevrons on either side of the date and no one bothered to mention you can scroll to other days on any owners manual or reviews (or if you did I missed it). Even TP-Link customer support didn't mention that ability on the app and that might be my issue. I've been trying to find that information for 4 days. Thank you!

I’m researching to replace my Yi/Kami cameras. Used to be great, but they have slowly stripped away features to push paid subscriptions.
Wyze seems to be great. Curious, can Wyze record 24/7 to a card and still use the cloud service for motion alerts? Their comparison chart shows no 24/7 to cloud which is fine. Just wondering if it will still save nonstop video to the card.

Thanks for your great Video. Could you help me better understand how I can use the camera (in terms of remote viewing) without a paid subscription? Can I set it up on motion and when motion is detected, then snap shots will be taken that I can see on my phone using the wyze app or even see and record the live video to my phone for viewing later. Or without a subscription is my only option is to take the micro card out and read it on a device with nothing accessible through the app? Thank you.
Without a subscription, you still can access the camera remotely to watch the live view. You can set it to record to the micro SD card when it detects motion or 24/7 recording. The only thing is that you will not get smart detection so anything that moves in the camera's field of view will trigger the camera. Also as to notifications, you will have a 5 minute cool down.. for example, the camera gets triggered my swaying leaves, then every 5 minutes you will get a notification. You don't have to remove the SD card to view the footage. You can view it in the app.

Will it stop breaking? Of the more than 60 v3 I've purchased for myself and help managing for others.. 4 are still working. They primarily die by some power connector issue they start power cycling nonstop faster and faster and at some point the put out a "scream". Sounding like locked up motor. They also get hot.
Despite excellent network connection frequently have to wait many seconds and reload many times to get live video sometimes doesn't get live video for quite a while.
They also kill endurance microSD cards
So many issues
Tons with wyze2 before though less and unreasonable failure rate as well but not anything like v3.

I need to know the detection at night from 40ft and if it can read car plates at night. If so what is the best setting? Trying to catch this deal before the 31st when it ends but so far every wyze camera I own they say is better and it does that it really doesn't. The only ones that came close are the v3 and I at least get cam lite free lol. The og are horrible and were a waste of money and stuck with a bunch of them but use them as fillers in blind spots.

Can the V4 run wireless capable?
I'm experiencing another problem with these Wyze Cam 4's, where it won't switch to other cameras using the Fire Stick voice remote. While I can switch between any of my Cam 3 feeds, once I'm viewing a Cam 4 feed, it won't respond to any voice commands to switch to another camera.
I must now completely exit out of the feed and voice prompt to another Camera view.
Welp, I guess I should have watched it to the very end. If it's compatible with the lamp socket, I'll order it. Thank you!

The gray one is sold out on the Wyze website already..... Certainly beats the V3 Pro version. I have liked mine as it records 24/7 and is somewhat protected from the weather and hasn't had issues.
