C.S. Lewis was a master of allegorical imagery, and I’m so glad you’re reading his works. There is a large collection of his essays available as a PDF file online titled God in the Dock-I highly recommend it. The talks he did on BBC radio during WWII must have surely bolstered those listening during those arduous days; those scripts eventually becoming the basis for Mere Christianity, one of the best Christian apologetics books ever written. I am very happy that you’re adjusting so well to your new and beautiful surroundings. Cheers!
Hi ruby!! I’m currently in year 11 and today I got called into a meeting from my maths teacher, he offered me a school trip to go and look around Oxford university and do a workshop about the application process and things because I am in the top 4 students in year 11 and they believe that I could potentially go on to apply to a place like that!! I am so unbelievably excited and you are such an inspiration to me!

They're gorgeous,i can't express how much i love them.
Your story is so inspiring to me... I've been following your content for 6 or more years now, I remember you studying so hard in school, I rember the rejection from Oxford, the poem you read through tears and how proud of you and impressed it made me feel, you being devastated by your first mark in uni and the courage of being vulnerable online, you changing degrees in Exeter, the gap year. Now I can see how all these experiences probably shaped you into a person that can now fully thrive in Oxford. Because it will be more than just productive. I really wish you have amazing time studying there, meet new people, get inspired, be happy.🎉 Meanwhile I got my master degree in natural sciences, got into PhD programm and dropped out after a year, dropped out of NGO I had spent 6 years working in... And now I am depressed and looking for a job in completely different industry and getting rejected again and again. Maybe it is just redirection that will pay off eventually, I really hope so

I’m still astonished by the prep ahead of time. When I did my master’s we had such an unbelievably different set up. I was working full time for the two years leading up to it to be able to afford to go. The reading list was four books! That was all we had to do. Your lovely appreciation of Ruby echoes my own but it worries me a little that you do yourself down by saying you did not do well at school - sure, it may mean not going to an Oxbrige-style university but one’s school record is quite often not a good barometer for how intelligent one is, how hard one may work one day for one’s goals and how successful one may become in life - it’s just about finding the thing that excites you and then pursuing it with everything you’ve got. I hope that you’ve been able to do that. Having been holier than though in this comment, I totally agree, being an academic at Oxford is the ultimate dream! This video made me sentimental - oh, to be a new student again! I had the pleasure of conducting research in Oxford during my Uni days, mostly in what was then called the Sackler Library. Sure have a soft spot for the city and hope to be back there as a student when I retire;) Take care Ruby, this will be an awesome journey.
Hi Ruby I'm so pleased that things are going this well for you at Oxford and that you are making friends there. Apart from the academics I always just hope you won't be lonely wherever you are (because I usually am!). Also the weekly video seems perfect so that you can spend as much time as possible focused on the studying for this out-of-this-world course.
I went to Oxford for a day-trip last summer. It always amazes me to see how walking around that gorgeous campus is a part of some people's daily lives. I think you all are so lucky to experience that history and knowledge at Oxford. I loved watching your first week, your voice is so calming to listen to. Your videos are so soothing and heartwarming. It's awe-inspiring how you see beauty in even the simplest of things. Thank you for sharing your journey here!
I'm sp greatful to have found your youtube account. I've learned a lot from you! 😊
I’m a month into my English lit masters at trinity college Dublin and have been hitting a slump. This motivated me again! Cheers ruby as we both start this journey :)
Good luck with your Masters! I hope you find lots of little sparks of joy this weekend to lift and re-energise you. Studying can be draining, but you’ve got this!
@@siantr0013 thank you :)
"a morning walk around the city as per usual" is so cute! I definitely write my to-do lists like that as well 😂
Every time i watch your videos i desperately want to be you. Your life makes me incredibly envious.

Ruby about every single one of her modules/lessons/courses: oh my god i am so excited about it
Me watching Ruby: oh my god i am so excited about it
I just discovered your channel. I only listened to you for a few minutes, but I can tell that you are a very intelligent and articulate person. I think you have a bright future ahead of you, and the world is your oyster. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD in mid-life.
Once again, so unbelievably happy for you! You are perfect for Oxford and Oxford is perfect for you! Great video Ruby, thanks 💕
You are beautiful
You look so happy! It's wonderful to see. So happy for you as you start this adventure.
I have been reading “The Fellowship: The literary lives of the Inklings” and through your videos I can get so many visuals of what life was like for them to walk the streets of Oxford! Thank you Ruby, and all the best wishes to you on your academic journey. 📚☕️❤️
Your smile says it all. Loving following your journey ❤❤😊
C’est très intéressant de voir le quotidien d’une étudiante à Oxford ! Ce serait super d’avoir des vidéos routines (morning et night) 😊 L’esthétique est tellement beau la bas ! Hâte pour toi que ce soit l’hiver !
I love how you are living your best life. For me, as a student hoping to get into Oxford university, your video is very inspiring. Thank you very much for sharing a piece of your lovely life.
Heartwarming to see you living your Oxford dream and being so mindfully present for every lovely little bit of it Ruby 💛🍁🍂
Studying at Oxford is something I've fantasized about, and so seeing your life there is fascinating and wonderful to me. What an amazing world you are in ; to be able to drop into the Ashmolean for a study break. This all said, you seem to be making the most of your opportunity with passion, diligence and appreciation. Thank you for this and I look forward to more updates.
Looks like a dream come true! 🥰 Selfishly, I hope you have time to do weekly vlogs for us throughout your degree. And if you ever want to do a live study with me session from a library, I’m sure I’m not the only one who would happily study along!
Yes please ! I would love a live study with me in the library 😊
Yes, please! It does not have to be live, just a recording would already by wonderful.
We need more Oxford study with me content. This is the best source of motivation I have tbh ...
You look so happy and are at they place where you should be. All the best.
Live your dream to the fullest Ruby. Life goes by in the blink of an eye.❤
Thoroughly enjoying your Oxford vlogs Ruby! I’m waaay older than you but find a lot of similarities with you, and also I find your enthusiasm so inspiring and a joy to watch. Living close Oxford myself I find it a beautiful place and I hope you enjoy the heck out of it while you are there. Also love that kettle!
I’m way older than Ruby too (I’m 39 in January) but I adore all her book reviews. She’s a gem. In a world you can be anything-be more ruby 🙂
Loving the Oxford vibe of these vlogs so much ❤you belong there Ruby xxx
I hope you’re having a lovely time, Oxford suits you so much 💖 xx
Never been to university or higher education but come from Oxford and find your channel fascinating and really enjoying following your progress through the educational establishment of Oxford University and good look to you Ruby.
I love your channel, you're videos are so calming and inspiring
You need some fairy lights for your room Ruby. It might create a softer ambience in the room at night. Just a thought.
I truly am loving it, and though I’m not the most social person, I’m pleased that I’ve started to make friends 📚
I went to Oxford for a day-trip last summer. It always amazes me to see how walking around that gorgeous campus is a part of some people's daily lives. I think you all are so lucky to experience that history and knowledge at Oxford. I loved watching your first week, your voice is so calming to listen to. Anyway, thank you for sharing a bit of your life and good luck with your studies, Ms Granger! 🙂
Hi Ruby, I always get motivated when I watch your video. I know how busy it can be when you are studying. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
You're in the first week of your Master's and already have to hand in a proposal for your dissertation? 😯 wow! I wouldn't have been able to do that in my uni years, it feels like I got the idea for my dissertations through the course work we did in the degree. The Oxford campus is so stunning! All the best for your degree 😄
We had to vaguely talk about our dissertation proposals in our applications actually! So all very early!!
So happy for you...and lots of library envy😊
You are such a heroine of mine. If I hadn't chosen to have children (whom I adore), I would have chosen your pathway. Perhaps I shall circle back in my 60s and pursue your path. Well done you, and please, please continue. It has been fascinating and inspiring to watch your progress.
I have visited Oxford two time and on both occasions I thought wow it would have been fun to study here so I totally get your love for the place and watching your Oxford videos have reinforced my thoughts that yes it certainly would have been fun to study there.
I used to go to the museum near me, during college, for the same reason. Just beauty and quiet - it was perfect.
Its so heartwarming to see you liking Chekhov short stories. I really enjoyed them at school and still find them funny and interesting)
I haven' yet watched the video, but every time Ruby uploads a new Oxford video, I'm so excited to watch it! I feel so happy and proud of you Ruby and I wish you enjoy the experience of studying there as much as possible ♥ Thank you so much for sharing these moments with us!
Hey Ruby,
I just recently fell in love with your videos and the comfort they bring me. As I am quite a new viewer, I have no idea if you already have something similar to this, but I would just love to hear you talking more about things that interest you! Whenever you bring up an essay that you’re reading and briefly talk about it, I find it incredibly interesting! I love hearing curious minds talk about interests them. This could be a nice little podcast format, wouldn’t have to be big or overwhelming!
Anyway, I wish you a cozy and atumny evening 🍂🥮🧡
Ruby, this was so lovely. Would you mind sharing your morning / evening routine during term? And maybe record a "study with me" at on of those gorgeous libraries? Thank you for all that you do. I keep recommending your channel to my students.
16:57 This might be as close as one can reasonably get to that proper Ravenclaw-vibe, as a muggle. 🦅
Starting my week by catching up on your uploads Ruby it seems like Oxford suits you well, it's spectacular
1:00 I used to work in that library for one summer almost 20 years ago. It was so lovely!
I'm 53 and working on my MSc if only I had an academic brain like you I wouldn't be watching you tube. good luck.
Your videos never fail to make me feel happy and cozy! And I personally love to listen to you talk about the tasks you're doing, it motivates me so much
Congratulations on getting to Oxford. My cats were fascinated with this video. My tortie actually jumped off the couch to sit directly in front of the television. Everything looks so nice and I hope everything goes wonderfully for you.
Ruby I've rediscovered your videos recently and just wanted to say how comforting they are to me. I'm struggling with self worth and productivity atm but the way you romanticise your world and live independently, focusing on yourself and the things you enjoy and value, both inspires me and feels like a warm hug. It's more motivating than a lot of the hustle culture self help content online will ever be!
wow thank you so much for vlogging your experience at oxford so far! it looks amazing and i'm SO happy for you. living vicariously through you 🥹
Ruby, thank you very much for filming this! It's fascinating
