You are an awesome teacher. I was also totally mindblown by Monomyth (and I still am!) and even counted the beats until I somehow was able to recognize the underlying beat but your explanation made it finally click. Thanks for that. I rarely sub after watching just one video but this totally earned my sub. Please keep making quality stuff like this. Greetings from Germany.
very cool video, and discovered a new band to add to my collection on the go! Even without the triplets it sure is a pocket workout, I'll add this to my pad practice
Wow man excellent video. You really deserve more views and such. Keep it up! Also, your point about stamina is a good one. Imagine being able to play an entire show of this stuff - Matt is so on another level
Amazingly detailed deconstruction of this equally amazing groove. My brain is still trying to wrap itself around what Matt is playing, but this lesson will definitely speed up (relatively speaking) my understanding of this rhythmic masterpiece.
Matt Garska did his own breakdown and split it into groups of 2s and 3s ordered 2 3 3 2 2 3 but each pulse is a triplet but I always wondered where the space in-between each 2 and 3 was...
Would love to hear if you have any thoughts on how they compose stuff like this. Whether it's all just through an amazing feel for rhythm or whether this is very calculated considered in it's construction
True that is the more efficient way to play it. I tried that initially but I have a weak left and so I'm making more progress on this pattern leading with the right because it just feels like doubles. As long as its clean I don't think it matters haha
@@AlexFafeita oh absolutely, as long as you can play it do it how it feels right. I tried the alternating and can play it up to speed, but when you try and put in the hands overtop your brain starts to freak out lmao
WTH, i got scared for a second but i think i can hear a snoring in the background of your audio feed D: EDIT: LOL, i failed to see the dogs chilling behind the notes. :D

This deserves so much more attention - best breakdown I've seen, so digestible. Thank you!
So happy to hear it was useful for you 🙏☺️

Great stuff, thanks for watching
Loved the lesson. I'm not a drummer, but am attempting a guitar tab and have had this section as triplets in 4/4.
this was an absolutely fantastic breakdown, brilliantly explained and the tutorial into building it up is perfection.
Really glad you enjoyed it! 🙏

the drummer actually writes these on a drum program then tries to figure it out on the kit i believe
A way to make it a bit easier if you have the ability, is to alternate strokes.
rlr lrl - rlr lrl rlr - lrl rlr lrl - etc.
You're 100% right Trey, those LRL foot groupings just need a bit more work over here first 😳 can't wait to see how Matt plays it himself!
He's actually playing alternating right and left foot leading hertas on the feet.

Ha ha yes, We have three dogs in the studo and one is a big snorer.
This is awesome, thank you! Great breakdown! Now if my right hand could stop being an idiot…

And now we are through the first 30 seconds
😂😂 the painful truth. Full song lesson would be feature length 😳
Great
🤟😁
🤘😎 🤘
Honestly to me this song is harder than bleed :') My feet just cant go that fast in bursts ahahaha
Definitely more challenging on the feet than Bleed, it's a real killer!
I dont understand for which type of drummer is this content
Thanks
W.T.F.!!! 😵
Yep 😂
