Why a simple job has to be so challenging to fix🤦‍♀️, thanks for posting 👍

Thanks for watching! After installing the new gasket I thought that was it. My wife began to complain she could hear water running. I checked and checked thenn saw some small bubbles around the perimeter of the cap. I am not sure if I will be able to achieve a perfect seal.
I had an overage charge of 60k litres which was appaling. Might have to do a follow up video as I made a lot of money for these two toilets and for having them installed.
Very bad design and I would not recommend this brand

Thanks Guy. You saved me mega frustration. Another helpful tip i found was to use a pair of regular pliers to hold the stem at a much easier angle. Did whole job in less than a minute…. Thanks

Hi Steven, glad it was of use to you. It is not a perfect solution as in mho it is badly designed. I found that after the fix small bubbles continued to appear around the cap/seal. I jiggled it into place avoided further unnecessary water usage. Cheers Charlie

You would do a great job at videos that help people learn how to do some of the basic repairs and what not that a handy dad would teach.

It's unbelievable that people have problems with this toilet. We have two in our home and they perform flawlessly and save us quite a bit on water bills. I can only think of DIY install error, buying the cheapest online knockoff replacement seal, or your water having chemical or minerals that break down the seal prematurely. As to the so called benefit of converting to a flush valve that holds more water in the tank for better performance that's crazy. The 3 gallon tank toilets previously in our home clogged on occasion but the new American Standard 1.28 has never done that in the 7 years we had them. Maybe more people like to complain about a product than people who say nothing positive when it gives them no issue. Lastly the seal is so easy to replace and not expensive, covered by AS warrantee, plus the money saved on water bills a little upkeep won't kill you. All toilets have seals, learn to replace yours and get on with a happy life.

@@dalemihocik4732 The toilets were installed by a license plumber. I never paid any attention to them until I began to receive letters from the water dept in our municipality informing us that we were using a substantial about of water and even then I didn’t think there was an issue after testing every faucet in the house.
A few months passed and I received another letter regarding over usage. It was only then that I paid more attention and listened to my wife when she said the toilets are running. That is when I noticed that there were bubbles around the flap. I turned the water supply off, waited a while and sure enough the water had drained out.
I went to Home Depot where I had purchased them, they told me I should call the manufacturer.
When I did and explained the problem they said they would send my new flaps without any question.
I had difficulty installing them as they were a different design.
I eventually figured it out and thought that was the end of it
Unfortunately those toilet still run occasionally as the seal does not work properly.
I have not called the manufacturer back but I will. I need to get this solved as I do nit want to buy new toilets and pay a few hundred dollars to have them installed.
As for the seal, I think there could be a better design.
Having said all that I appreciate you taking the time to write.

😂😂😂 You are dead right. I am not completely happy with the product, the seal does not work 100%. It cost me a lot of money to have the toilets installed not to mention the high cost of wasted water. Thanks for posting the note. Cheers

it’s not the flush, they don’t deal well and this causes it to run every now and then I received a water bill for
      60,000 litres for one period
