What a cool video! Pilot was also very cool, waving hello like that! Miss those old planes. Used to fly Hughes AirWest from HOU to TUS ($69 one way) to visit my grandfather, every weekend I could afford to. They flew DC9 and MD80’s wonderful aircraft
I have to say that I like the sleek 'clean wing' look of this aircraft (and others of the same configuration: rear-mounded engines, such as the BAC Trident and Boeing 727-200).
@@Philipp1974 that's interesting, I never thought a passenger plane and a fighter jet could use the same engine. And it wouldn't surprise me if a single engine with afterburner had a higher fuel consumption than an MD80 with its two engines combined
A more likely scenario is that he was having problems stowing his thrust reverser and was simply cycling it a few times to get it to stow. To think that pilots "wave" with thrust reversers is a stretch.
Interesting that pilots are even allowed to do that as by regulations, after all in the worst case it might happen the plane (under "stupid" circumstances) veers off the taxiway, theoretically speaking. very cool he did that for you.
Such an awesome little plane. Used to fly on the MD-80 class all the time with Delta and American (Super 80's). So sad to see them being pulled out of service 😔
Awesome! How on earth did you get that close to the runway!? Even with a good lens, that is a great position to be in. Great fun that they did that for you.
I'm glad you love this video. That was the second landing of same crew and airplane on Tivat airport that day. I was there all day, and this was our second meeting that day. DART was operating two charter flights to Tivat that day.
It’s a safe bet that I probably worked on that aircraft when it was brand new as I worked as a flight rap mechanic at McDonnell Douglas from April 19 87 till the end of MD-80 production at which time I transferred to the C17 I enjoyed working on the MD 80 more than I did working on the MD 90 series that JT8s On the MD 80s are very reliable and easy to work on but yes very loud compared to today’s Jets not very fuel-efficient
Ladies and gentlement, welcome aboard NO-NAME Airlines.
Our flight is to some random airport, so sit back and enjoy the ride!
Richard Lee T. It can either be a new aircraft/a private aircraft/a test of a modified aircraft
great excuse for chemtrail conspiracy theorists to say that this is an unmarked airplane used to spray us lol
Idiots conspiracy theorists
Richard Lee T.
Probably loaded with immigrants bound for the U.S.
That plane looked majestic while taking off
Jansel Kenneth Tolentino Majestic? I agree!!! :) Thank you!
very cool pilot
Yes indeed!
Pilot is cool
The mcdonnel is an amazing aircraft i love the reverse thrusts

Lucky. I wish a pilot would do that to me. You don't even know how many times I've waved like a maniac to get a pilot to notice me XD
Thank you! Yes, I know that this pilot was real gentleman dooing this. I hope he will see this video.
who waves at maniacs?
***** good point
XD same
Technically, I guess he was winking, not waving...
Feier Fuchs Haha. Difficult to tell from that distance..
yeah you righylt
Wanking?!?!?! I'm good at that ;)
@@kenyaswallowmycome6908 😂
Pilots with a sense of humor are the best.
What an awesome pilot

nice catch mate :).
seeing the MD still active out there on some airports.
my fleet itself has a few MD-80's serving
I waved at a USAF pilot one time and he flipped me the bird.
it sounded like a fighter jet
datstocklyfe Yes, too close to make takeoff videos. Thank you!
Thats what JT8D sounds like.
this engine is used for the Saab Viggen Fighterjet with an additional afterburner
adoro
@@Philipp1974 that's interesting, I never thought a passenger plane and a fighter jet could use the same engine. And it wouldn't surprise me if a single engine with afterburner had a higher fuel consumption than an MD80 with its two engines combined
The pilot is awesome. And kind. :D

Thank you for dislike! ;-)
That’s affirmative
That’s correct
Rumor has it that in pilot lingo, that gesture is synonymous with the wide stance bathroom stall foot tapping move....
quinnjim I clearly saw it store prior they could’ve also had a not locked light and that’s one way to clear it
I'm glad he didn't wave good bye on taking off :)
wow thats kinda of cool, Nice catch
GREAT photography ! Great clarity & fun to watch
ginger elvira Thank you!
I would like to know how you got to the other end of the runway so quick to film the plane taking off. Amazing!
That's awesome! Love the MD-80s!
Svaka cast kad neko uspije da dobije ovako pozdrav! Odlican video! (Y)
that's cool to see
I agree! ;-)
Interesting that pilots are even allowed to do that as by regulations, after all in the worst case it might happen the plane (under "stupid" circumstances) veers off the taxiway, theoretically speaking. very cool he did that for you.
you can open the doors without throttling up, so the actual differential thrust is probably pretty minor
What regulation would inhibit doing that?
I love ❤️ this video! 🛩
What an awesome, AWESOME pilot to do that!!!

Awesome jet
awesome, i watch your teaser on modelkindo.. like it and following this channel...

Tivat. :) ♡
What a wonderful noise!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👍
really love your video. the sound quality is amazing. you're lucky to get the attention from the awesome pilot.

I've got the idea! That method is the new indicator light of airplanes when leaving the run way! ^^
Great video mate, nice engine wave, amazing sound ;)
Nice reverse wave, look`s very cool! Like it!!
+Alpha SiX Thanks for watching!
Odlicno nema sta,svaka cast!BIG LIKE!! ;)
That must’ve been rewarding when the pilot salutes you.
How ever, a brilliant shot!
Ау, како ово моћно изгледа! Супер!
Hope you waved back. Sweet video
I still can see the remains of VIKING livery!! Perfect video!
Yeah, but Ukrainian registration, it's now flying in Bravo Airways(Ukraine)
Thank you for info! But DART (former company of this airplane) is from Ukraine too.
AirlinersHD Bravo, Dart, YanAir, all of them from time to time use this plane, some kinda "alliance" exist between those
I love the sound
just recycling reverser a few times bec. of an open indication (microswitch). Quite common.
Exactly my thoughts.. they would come into the gates all the time with TR unsafe lights illuminated.. Cycle the TR a couple times, and all is well...
Interesting, I didn't know that
Dont burst the man's bubble. He thought the captain was waving. Lol
Awesome plane!
Now that's some smart thinking!
Very cool
Fenomenalno. Sreckovic :)
Wow that pilot is cool to do this!
Sjajno svaka cast!
Best take-off ever!
Very cool!
Thats amazing!
Love those JT8Ds!
Reminds me of Janet Airlines, the all white, unmarked 737 's that fly Area 51 employees into Las Vegas every day.
I was thinking the exact same thing too!
Same here, I was thinking it was either a Janet flight, an unmarked CIA flight or prisoner transport.
Some Janet's have a Red stripe along the side.
Dunno why but they look scary and sound scary to me, yet seem so beautiful to watch and listen to. Lol
Amazing!
Nice catch! Liked
BAD ASS Plane.....sounds good..
What a beauty.
give me the old birds any day i miss the l-1011 so bad i spent a lot of on her
MD83s are the main reason why I visit Zhuliany UKKK as much as possible. Shame Maddogs are being phased out from usage.
Wow, thats awesome! :DD Wish german pilots would do this as well! :D Its a great video of the Md-83 and a perfect view! :)
+Pilot2101 This was the second time I see UR-CJU that day. Thank you!
AirlinersHD no problem! :) My pleasure! :)
Awesome!
Hahahahaha - Cute way to "wave". Pilots and MD 80 series Rock!
One of the reverse thrusters seem to be broken, either by lack of maintenance or manufacturing error.
That pilot is a gigachad
Aircraft look massive but they are in fact pretty light
are you sure he wasnt applying the brakes on that one side to help correct direction on the turn?
That was pretty cool!
Of my mind serves me correctly that's MD80 was part of Scandinavian Airlines
Is it me or I see some random dude driving a moped across the tarmac at 1:44..
*low budget tug*
@@arussian_spy WTF!
Wow, what a great video!
3:09 what a beautiful shot
Flew on one those to Ibiza in 1988
Paramount airways from Bristol airport
They weren’t about long
wow cool
Great!!
That's freakin Awesome

nice
DART? Awesome takeoff!!!!
+6041321as Yes, small charter company from Ukraine.
woah that was awesome!
3 possibilities it was idle or running a checklist in console or to turn sharp
*Deploys reversers* "Well, guess he must be saying hello"
That was Morse Code dude!
Nice
A pilot did that for me once, but he was taking off.
Love it ✨👍✨👍
That was neat!
When I was 11 or 12 I was in Dubai I was flying with Emirates a Saudia 777 waved at me really inspired me to visit Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
MD-80s have LOUD engines jesus!!
That's standard protocol on aircraft with tail mounted jets for sharp corners.
*Neat!!*
gr8 video ...:-)))
I'm thinking about it and i think he was just wanting to turn
md80s are the loudest planes that fly out of my local airport
MD airplanes are known for their ability to perform steep climb after takeoff.
Wonder what he was doing? Training exercise?
